Hi I'm muslim from Malaysia and what a very nice vlog Cody I wish I can be visited Morroco someday and learn more about their culture and Islam religious there👍😉
Hello Cody ! Thanks for bringing us along. What a beautiful country ! You are so lucky to be able to travel to all these different places, and each one is so different than the other.I can't wait to see the next video. Stay safe! Love from Massachusetts !
If my father were still around and went to Morocco, I'd probably have to pick up a shipping container at the Port of Houston; it was impossible for him to pass up anything he thought was a good deal. Ceramics, leather, pack the ceramics in leather,... you get the idea. Keep going, I'm stuck here for a while longer.
Actually Al-Qarawiyyin University is the oldest in the world and also has the oldest library as well. I think it is only its mosque that is open to muslims only. The University itself is open to everybody. As a matter of fact, very famous non-muslim scholars attended it centuries ago, including Pope Sylvester II, the Jewish philosopher Maimonides, Flemish Nicolas Cleynaerts and the Dutchman Golius.
There is no reason why non muslims can't get inside the masjid if they respect the dress code, the only place were non Muslim area not allowed is Alkaaba Aharifa in Mecca
Sam Rakabi I agree. In Many other muslim-majority countries, people can visit mosques. It will happen in Morocco in the future I am sure. It is already the case in the biggest one, the Hssan II mosque in Casablanca.
@@mm-ge7id yup. Most mosques allowed non muslims to visits with proper dress code. Not allowed only during prayer times. Even in istanbul has the same rules.
That leather place , that's like a leather factory, its age is more than 1000 years:) renewed restored. Fes used to have more than 40 factory and more than 20 schools and institute and one university, this is more than thousand year ago , one of the British kind ,mistyped I meant british king daughter was sent to fes for education that time . Now the inverse, we immigrate and we seek jobs and education in Europe
Both are amazing, marrakesh is more clean and like the safest city in the world, you can walk after midnight alone, none can hurt or touch you. Marrakesh is very old too ,like 1100 years old built in the 9 or 10 century.
I am very excited to fly from Houston to Agadir this summer to meet my Moroccan girlfriend. Over a year online and we finally have a chance to hug each other. I will make sure she will take me to these fabulous and mesmerizing landmarks. Nice video Cody.
Man Agadir is not as historic as Fez or Marrakech, Essaouira... it's a beach city plus it's a new city it was built after was destroyed by an earthquake. I'm just aligning your expectations with the reality so you won't be unhappy about it
You''ll really enjoy Morocco, but please be careful (as with anywhere else). You mentioned a gf you only met online, and unfortunately that's a huge scam there (especially with men who use foreign women) to get American and European citizenship. I'm not saying everyone does it, but its extremely common and many times the entire family is in on it and will try to motivate you to get married with enormous flattery. There are too many forums that also mention horror stories. In fact the US government's embassy site use to have warnings. I wouldn't be surprised if they still have it. A few years ago there were even internet cafes set up where people used the net as "full time jobs" to lead online suitors. I'm not saying that this is the case, but just keep this in mind, but overall enjoy yourself. Take care.
Another reason why your comment stood out is because although its normal to date in the West, Morocco is stlll a very Muslim country and a Muslim girl is actually "suppose" to marry another Muslim (preferably Moroccan) and not date. This is the same with Arab Jews as well. Its very tribal. So the fact that they're dating (a big no no in Islam), is a huge red flag. Also, people tend to get married a lot younger. Another thing is that its illegal for two locals to rent an Air BnB or a hotel together unless they're married. Many riads in Marrakech and other places were closed or shut down for this and people got arrested because usually local kids rent air BnB's or have their foreign relatives do it, and they're unmarried. Its ok for foreigners, but illegal for locals.
@@artlover4375 Thanks for the cautious words. I fully understand what's going on and still not presenting myself to her as a ticket to Texas. I told her that I am Baptist and she told me that she can convert to my religion. There too many red flags that have occurred lately between us that I trying to get break it off. By sending some money every month I have enabled her to use me. I will date women here instead of flying all the way to any country to " rescue" her from whatever tough circumstances she encounters right now. Btw, I truly believe she has a boyfriend now, and just wanted a get better life here. I hope I am wrong, I hate to be a sucker for so long. Thanks again, Art Lover.
Wow Cody. Once again you amaze me. What a beautiful part of the city of Fez. Nice incredibly gorgeous rooms where you stayed. The tour of the streets was very informative with your history along with it. The blue wall is pretty stellar as well. Glad you shared your experience with us. The music in the background is perfect. Thanks again bro.
Morocco is one of the safest and most welcoming countries and people. Of course, needless to say that like every place you want to avoid some neighborhoods in the biggest and industrialized cities. But these are usually out of tourists' way. You would love it in there.
Very unique country & interesting culture. It's so nice of you to have a great respect for other cultures. 🗺❤ #exploringcrew #Explorers4life #RougeNation
I don't know why Morocco is wonderful & fantastic! Maybe Morocco isn't part of Middle East but the architecture looks like Middle East and I looove it!!!
Haha. That is a myth people don't believe in. Islam is against superstition. People do not want to be filmed simply for privacy reasons. Many don't want to feel like animals in a zoo as they go by their daily businesses. This is particularly true for places who are new to receiving tourists in massive numbers.
Moroccan need to be more friendly towards tourists because they help the economy, when I was young I used to heat that tourist take or pictures then go make fun of us once they go back to their country :) when I grew older I started being friendly and smiling to tourists to make them feel welcome.
Sam Rakabi Believe me. If you have been to as many countries I have been (and maybe you did), Moroccans are way more friendly and hospitable. Is there room for improvement? certainly. In very touristy places like Marrakech's souk or Jemaa El Fna, vendors should be much less "sticky", that's one area of change for example.
I'm trying to decide whether to book a riad inside the medina or just outside so it is easier to access spots outside of fes. Was it difficult finding your riad when you arrived?
