Very well explained. I clicked on this video kind of absent mindedly and after hearing how well you broke down the details of how PCT looks to work, the "I'm hoping to hit 500 subs" part hit me like a truck. How are you not a huge channel with the quality shown?
Thanks for the compliment. It may be copium on my part, but I've only been making properly edited videos for the past couple months, and a few criterion guides like 6 months ago.
cause ppl want Internet funnyman who make funny voices and recycled jokes. this channel and the synoptic scribe are my of favorites cause they just lay it down like an adult
PCT looks like a very fun job, especially with the amount of GCDs going longer than 2.5, that's gonna help it feel unique I think I really hope they tweak some of the levels for actions though, getting the shield AND dash before any AoE will feel rough, no rainbow gauge until 60 and no holy/meteor cartridge thing until 80...
It's definitely sad that the job doesn't seem to get its gimmick for early dungeons in roulette. One of the great things about DNC is that you've got your first dance by 18, so even in Sastasha you get to do your "thing" and feel like your job. I really would have hoped to be able to at least Summon Moogle early.
The more I sit and think about Pictomancer the more curious I become about it. I used to be a caster main but SMN's changes in Endwalker really left me feeling quite bored playing the job so I switched to MCH and Reaper for most content in the game. Right now I'm leaning towards just taking MCH through the MSQ as my first job as I don't really feel like spam leveling Viper BUT I'm also now thinking about maybe checking out Pictomancer. Depending on what the word is like from the media tour I may end up spending the first day of early access leveling Pictomancer so that I can take it through the story but I'm still kind of undecided currently.
@1:55 - They'll design Pictomancer rotation around color theory, but won't do something similar for Summoner so that they can use Ramuh, Shiva, and Leviathan.
Should point out, the combo changing like nashing fang is more than likely the new XIVCombo system implementation they're introducing. Which really means from now on we can't really look at any footage and say "oh it works like nashing fang" cause everything does (well as much of everything that can and you have toggled on to do so)
If by XIVCombo you mean the "Action Change Settings" bit, this isn't going to allow people auto-combo their bread and butter GCDs. They've been pretty explicit about it being for stuff like High Jump > Mirage dive. They want the freedom to condense more buttons like this (think also of stuff like Leylines > Between the Leylines or Ikishoten > Ogi Namikiri), but want people who button mash and thus risk accidental presses to have the option to split them. They tried the merging of High Jump > Mirage Dive in Endwalker, some people complained due to accidental presses, so they added a 5 sec delay for Mirage Dive, but this messed up stuff for Dragoons on DSR. The change they are making is an opt out solution to this, not the ability to make every combo 1 button. A bunch of people on Reddit and Twitter worked themselves up in to a frenzy convinced the auto-combo was coming, but it's simply not what was said. Regardless, I'm trying to contextualize for people that currently play the game and might have missed the live letter.
@booshalmighty yessir this is how it is. Put simply: actions that _require_ another action prior can be condensed in one button. You cannot use the second hit of gnashing fang without first pressing gnashing fang, for example. Actions that can be used independently such as your 1-2-3 and branching combos will not be condensed like this
I kinda dislike English spell naming in this game. In addition to all of the breakage on things like Cure III vs Curaga, it's always overly serious and aggressive for some reason. It's like Angry Eyebrows Kirby in text form.

it looks fairly complex but also really fun! definitely made me more curious to try it out, thank you ❤

I get this. For me I'm more concerned about level 70+ due to ultimates, and it seems fine on that front, but sub 30 might suck.
I loved pictomancer in VI! There, Relm would cast Ultima twice per round, it was great.
This went in one ear and out the other but that's not a you problem lmao. I learn by doing and I can't wait for this jobs release ♥

thank you because it seems kinda complicated
That last one really looks like a self or group wide mitigation.
Yeah definitely seems that way
Cool video, thanks for the info!
It’s Picto made simple. Made for real people
I’m kinda surprised that giant spriggan wasn’t a move, though if I had to guess, it’s probably been left to be an LB3 animation
I hope dawn trail theme plays when popping lb3 lol
Considering how completely underwhelming solar bahamut is for SMN I think Picto might be my go-to!
Good luck with the 500 subs! You get one from me along with this comment for an algorithm boost ;D
PCT looks awesome!
Rotation looks painful!
Maybe i can finally paint a good parse with this one, ty mr Frog man

im the 500th!! gratz!!!
Let's Go!!!
See i don't know if its because i love drawing or what, but i totally got it as they showed it. Im watching this to see what i didn't get tech wise
I am maining,,PIC love art I will master the class and submain sage it got some great buffs and a AOE dot debuff for enemies now
I really wanna play this job, only thing is it doesn’t really fit my char’s aesthetic 😭
This is my primary concern too. Worst case though I'll put it on limited effects, and I'm sure there will be animation mods or something out there.
Time to turn Lalafell :D

Im make picto talk simpler. You bob ross it, paint a happy moogle there and beat devil out of enemies
Truly a nerd...
