    This is pretty much it in a nutshell. No silly gimmicks. No flavor-of-the-day/week/month/patch nonsense. Simple economics, and it works. Approaching my first 100,000,000 gil. Been building capital for months now, and there is no "get rich quick" scheme that doesn't come with a heavy potential downside. I dipped my hand into the resell market, and anything worth more than a few million gil will sit on the MB for weeks, even months at a time. It's much better to keep items up that have a high turnover rate. I will also point out that gathering in and of itself is very lucrative if you know what to gather. I've made tens of millions of gil just by gathering. It's a good money-making supplement to crafting, especially if your server's MB is overrun by botters who dominate all the easy-to-craft items.

      I made few mill selling stuff from eureka. But in long run it isn't worth the hustle. Sell price like 2-5 million can be tempting but items are very rarely bought. Unless you selling mounts. But it's beter to put that times in to gathering

      Not anymore there isn't anyway. Back before everyone and their dog had pentamelded omni-crafters the market for day 1 raid gear was insane. I remember sitting in Eulmore and making 56 million gil on day one working for like 10 hours back to back with my duo. These days you have to fight market bots and /pmb and its just not worth it as much. Before the market addon I used to manually make a shopping list, server hop my entire DC, buy low and resell high like I was running some kind of amazon business front... worked a charm.

    This is actually the first time someone actually applies real economic principles to the game rather than opportunistic tips. Most videos are about items that have price surges and slowly taper off. This is so much better

      Ahh so very true, im not sure if ive come across another guide that talks about this, partly I think because it lacks the glamourous get rich quick with no work aspect. But none the less this is the most steady and timeless way to go about it, in my humble opinion. Thank you so much for your kind words and thoughts.

    For those of you not wanting to level all crafters, a good one or two to focus on is Weaver or Carpenter. Furniture sells quick, and usually in bulk (2-4 items at a time.) Weaver has the added benefit of diversifying into glam items too.

    • @Manchild_Gaming
      @Manchild_Gaming  9 місяців тому +7

      Yep nice alternative here.

    • @SakuraShuuichi
      @SakuraShuuichi 9 місяців тому +5

      Carpenter is great for furniture and picture frames, I made near max gil off just selling picture frames that I started making because there were none on the market in HW. A good gatherer to make money also is FSH because many people don;t want to engage with fishing(aside from ocean fishing). you can make quite alot with earthbreak aethersand and moon aethersand, as fsh doesn;t have gather windows for these, keep in mind you will need to level culinarian to 30 for desynths(primarily to get rid of worthless fish and turn them into water crystals which usually sell for more than most fish). also the food crafters use for high end crafting is usually a fish(currently jhinga) so you can usually make money with that although the supply is usually pretty high but the demand is also usually pretty high and the demand continues throughout the entire raid tier if not the entire expansion(often high end crafters will "get away" with using a lesser food if they can to save some money)

      Culinarian as well. Gear can be worn forever but food is a consumable resource. Plus the aesthetics of food and drink encourage RP venues to buy foods specific to their menus. I’d recommend checking out menus of clubs on your home world and trying to focus on those menu items! They may have an in-house CUL, but burnout hits anyone and they may buy local for the convenience of stocking up

    probably not as quick a guide for gil as this video but eureka is a potential gil maker
    the bunny fate in pyros runs every 10 mins (if someone isnt holding a bunny hostage) and you get minimum 10k gil for a bronze coffer, 25k for silver and 100k for gold. That might not sound like much at first but spend a few weeks doing that and it will add up quickly. Not to mention gold coffers have a chance to drop a mount that usually sells for 3-5mil on marketboard. Also, doing fates that have a chance to drop magicite items is good and in pagos, 2 fates (crab and cassie) have a chance to drop a ring/earring that sells for heaps on marketboard. I just had the blitzring drop from crab and sold it for 10mil on marketboard. Dont sleep on eureka!!

    • @peger
      @peger 7 місяців тому

      no not realy. I sold bunch of boss drops and i must say. People buy them very rarely. The fact that their use is limited to the eureka undercounts the number of potential buyers. But it probably also depends on the server.
      But mounts and logos are good options.

    Not only is this guide a great idea for making sustainable gil. You're indirectly offering an essential service, say you need an item and there is none on the board. You've just made someone's day providing it, it could have been the last piece they needed in a glam. Great video.

    Something I would suggest that's pretty easy is to check in with vendors, things like the housing vendor or various beast tribes. There are a lot of items that people just don't realize they can go up to a vendor and buy, so you can easily flip them for a profit yourself. It likely won't be as much per shot as a crafted armor piece, but it's very easy to just buy iron ore from a limsa vendor, or buy various partitions from the housing vendor.

    • @CodyPerez
      @CodyPerez 5 місяців тому

      Do this! I’m aware these items are available for cheap but I and many others are always in a time crunch to craft the items we’re selling on the MB that we will gladly buy these materials from someone at a higher cost for convenience

      One of the best things I can recommend for passive income is making an effort to level and gear up your retainers. In early expansions, a combat job can easily bring back new mob drops that will be necessary for the new crafted sets. When those prices go down, I'll then send them out on Quick Exploration and occasionally score a jet-black or pure white dye. The other random furniture and glamour items they bring can also make you aware of very easy things a lowbie crafter can make for dirt cheap materials.

    Great video! I just wanted to add that market arbitrage can be really important in FFXIV. For example on my server Aether/Adamantoise, even high volume items like raid food can go for double the crossworld market rate. (Even in this raiding lull between patches, Baked Eggplant is up 20 percent over market) This creates an interesting condition where often the mats to make a crafted item are more expensive than the crafted item. You could definitely still make a lot of money doing what is described in the video, but just be careful that you don't end up losing on mats. Also if you're server is similarly inflated, a very easy way to make money is to buy on cheap servers and sell on your server. Very low time and effort investment and you can often make criminal amounts of gil on items that are dirt cheap elsewhere.

    Wow, fantastic guide! My own simple tip for new players as an easy way to make a appreciable amount of gil (not in the hundreds of millions like the video) is to just simply desynthesize dungeon drops and sell the materials. I have a few friends who are broke all the time and I try to tell them how you can easily make several million gil a week by just playing the game and selling excess stuff like materia, or desynthing high level gear. Max level retainers on quick ventures are great for this!
    Another simple tip that I find pretty fun in its own way is to buy and resell items. With world-hopping, and now data center hopping being a thing, it is actually a very easy way to make a significant amount of money, albeit more time consuming. The neat part is this works even if you don't have crafters/ gatherers, because you are simply buying from another server, and reselling them on your own. Naturally it can be a little bit risky, because you are pulling straight from your own funds, but it can be pretty lucrative if you find the right demand.
    I am actually pretty excited to give it a try with the advice you provide in this video, as I am someone with baby understanding of economics and only been doing trial and error to make gil. Thanks for the video, super helpful!

    Can you make more gil with other means? Yes.
    Will the other means be riskier? Yes.
    Even if you use the other means, should you still do things like this? *Yes.*
    I RP as a noble and drop tens of millions into venues and the palms of people (either as surprise gifts or via crafting things on-the-fly) every week, and still horde more away, so I know what I'm talking about. These things he's teaching you will be reliable. You won't be rich overnight, but you also won't want for gil. Put 15 minutes a game session into what he's talking about and even if you don't cycle your sale price nearly as much as you should, you will slowly trickle your inventory out and do well.

  • @chriss6855
    @chriss6855 9 місяців тому +1

    If someone doesn't want to pay the $2 per additional retainer, they can spend a few hours to level up an alt to the point that they can use retainers. Items can be shared by having them all in a personal FC. I have 16 retainers at no additional cost. You can also create alts on other worlds so that you have retainers in those markets. Items (those that can be equipped) can be quickly "traded" to those characters by using a mannequin which will require having an FC plot. It's worth buying a small in the long run for the workshop.
    The best items to craft are the shark submarine parts. They always sell for at least twice the cost of purchasing the materials off the MB if not more. You can also setup the submarines in your own FC which will take a few months before they're ready to start making gil. A single FC will bring in roughly 14M gil from all subs combined per month. This is actually the best way to acquire gil and will require an alt account if you want to go above the account limit for how many FCs you can own on a world.

    • @chriss6855
      @chriss6855 9 місяців тому

      To add onto this, 7 FCs with subs can bring in about 100M gil per month. It only takes about 15 minutes per day to cycle through them and redeploy the subs.

    This was a very easy to understand video. It seems like an obvious message but i am someone who easily gets overwhelmed when i look at all my unused mats and the market board, not knowing what to sell. Not knowing where to start.

    This is a great video! I'm interested to hear though your opinions on selling high value items, like treasure map mats or rare drops and mounts, should you happen to just get them. Should you craft rare mats, and is it worth it to keep a mount up worth millions if its not selling and if so should u undercut by a large amount. Thanks!

    • @Manchild_Gaming
      @Manchild_Gaming  8 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for the kind words. I would say all sources of revenue should be explored and exploited. The video is a simple compass to guide daily sales for people who dont want to deal with high compeition.
      To answer some of your questions I would craft the rare mats into the most popular and highest selling item it can make. Selling jus the mats for a minute of extra work is a missed opportunity.
      I like collecting mounts, but if you have extras, i would look at not just your server but the rest of your datacentet prices to get a good idea of what the item is really going for. Mounts typically dont go up in value, they can but generally they stay steady or slowly decline over time. I would sell rather than hold.
      Undercutting and price dropping can be 2 different things. Again refer to the rest of your data center, and adjust your price with a larger data set for more precise pricing information.
      Hope that helps

    I wouldn't recommend a 1 gil undercut, but a steps of gil instead. Or to pricematch, because a re-list puts you back on the top as well. The only reason why I don't suggest an exact 1 is because a lot of people (me included) avoid 1-gil undercuts and the people currently doing that are growing. Sure it still works, but you also do somewhat limit yourself than if you undercut in 5-10 gil steps. Like I say, it's minor, but it can make a difference for how much people are willing to purchase something

    Building up a stockpile sounds useful. I usually sell materials after I craft what I want. Maybe I should keep them instead? I have a few staples I have my retainers gather materials for but maybe I should try new things. Is it worth crafting ingots instead of buying them if I get ore from retainers? I usually just buy them to save on shards and time. Combat classes are great retainers when I need a skin for leather or something else. I have 3 miners, 2 botanists and 4 combat class retainers. Should I change a miner or combat class to fisher?

      I stockpile because prices fluctuate often and maybe I don't want to server travel or maybe every server is expensive at that time.
      You could change one to fisher or miner it's really your preference. So far fisher is almost useless and hasn't ever been too useful so far, that can change in the future.
      As for the ingots it depends sometimes they get real pricey. If that's the case I make my own but I typically stockpile those too.

At 4:30 it shows the retainer bringing back 20 Palm Syrup, but with appropriate gear that will be 50, so effectively 2,5x more items for each trip. It's pretty easy nowadays to give them good enough gear as well, like with the 6.4 scrip gear. Breakpoint for the max amount of items should be around 3938 perception for EW items. So I’ve been making my gear, my leves, my turnins, gathering mats for all of this. Certainly takes more time and need some sort of a tool like teamcraft to organise the lists, but for me it was worth it, and I do enjoy this part of the game anyway.

  • @nauscakes1868
    @nauscakes1868 9 місяців тому

    Paying real life money for more retainers to make more gil is like buying gil, lol.
    But the upside of that system is that because bots can't post "infinite items" it forces people to pick and choose what to sell. So for new players, there's almost always gaps in the market that need filling.
    Sometimes single patch day events can be good. I made about 300 million in the first week of the patch that introduced the Shirogane housing ward. New housing wards equal = furniture sales go up up up!
    I also had paid for 8 retainers during that month, and basically spend that first week at the market board updating prices, adding more items, and just watching things fly off the shelves. Meanwhile my friends were raiding and doing the MSQ, lol. But if you enjoy crafting -- you'll always come ahead.
    Which leads me to my final point about undercutting at a loss. People who craft for fun can always undercut at a loss, because they're not trying to min/max profit. They inherently enjoy the process, so if they make 3 billion last expansion, and come into the new one just making shit and dicking around. They can have really interesting affects on the market.
    Furthermore, yes, time in the market is everything. For the new people coming in and wondering how older players have gobs of gil? Remember, some people have been playing this game religiously for almost 10 years. Can you imagine how much gil someone who's played for 10 years would have?
    AND, it gets a lot easier to save money over time. A new player looks at the game and sees "100 pets, 1,000 outfits, hair unlocks, dyes, STUFF STUFF STUFF!" So to catch up, and buy all the cool glamours and fashion shit they want will cost a small fortune up front. But once you've more established and have what you want. IT's liks all of your profit goes straight into savings.
    When there's nothing left to buy, it all adds up!
    And when there's nothing left to buy -- undercutting is a fun way to burn money to piss off salty people who private message you and call you names, lol You gonna be rude to me for no reason? I hope you enjoy me crashing your market for 6 months for fun. They'll run out of money long, long before an ancient gil baron would.

    Ill share my old ways as I no longer use them.
    The firmament is stupidly good for early gil and leveling.
    You can level gatherers and directly sell some of those items for straight gains and getting some scrips at the same time.
    Some diadem materials sell for 200-400 a piece at least on sargatanas.
    Not only that, if you dont want to sell the materials and havent finished the crafters grind, you can use the materials to level your crafters and use those crafts to get even more scrips and xp.
    The lower level crafts are incredibly cheap and way too profitable in xp and scrip exchange.
    You can then trade the scrips for sellable items like the parasol, which sells for around 400k and is super popular.
    Even nowadays when the prices are good i dedicate an hour to farm a certain resource and get around 200k with just around an hour of click simulator.
    It might be a hassle for people who are already omnicrafters and gatherers but its the best reccomendation i can give to crafting/gathering starters as it also saves a lot of time and brings profit along the way.

    it only tanks the market if you undercut them back. i can sell for w.e price i want since i dont buy anything. if they want to lose money to undercut thats their problem. you can also just buy it and sell it higher if you think its too cheap.

    also mods like public market board save you so much time looking for lower prices :3 if ur into mods that is. its doable with out it just takes more time to check servers for cheap prices

      How often does it update the prices?

    • @olloplayspc
      @olloplayspc 8 місяців тому +1

      @@Manchild_Gaming it updates on demand. so everytime you search for an item or hover over the item with the window open it pulls the current data. Id say its around 99% accurate there are some times where some one buys an item you were looking for when you get to mb. but for the majority of the time its accurate and also shows sale history which is good for market research

    That's a lot of work. Just pop level 80 Zonures and solo the overworld stuff with Blue. The glam materials sell for a lot and you can make millions in a few hours.
    Alternatively, you can farm easy trials for materials. Tsukuyomi material sells for 400k and can be killed by two people.
    A shell FC owner can make passive 500k/day on average just from collecting voyage results.
    There are a lot more other ways of making huge amounts of gil without checking the market very often. TBH Gil does not have a lot of use in the game so it's better to make it passively and just buy whatever you need whenever you need it.

    • @Manchild_Gaming
      @Manchild_Gaming  9 місяців тому +1

      You are right there are many ways. This is just the most stable way other than subs that I enjoyed using. I used to farm trials but they often are flooded as well. Housing is more available so subs are more viable these days.

    This is great for downtime for crafting, but honestly you should avoid downtime crafting as much as possible unless you just need quick gil. If you put a fraction of that same effort into patch day prepping when new master recipes, savage, and ultimate content releases, the payout is exponentially better.
    It's a difference of spending 10,000 hours to make a billion gil, vs spending 100 hours to make a couple hundred million gil.

    • @Manchild_Gaming
      @Manchild_Gaming  3 місяці тому

      I've done both. I think it comes down to how much people can put in within a small amount of time
      The guide is to make gil whenever you please consistently. Some people are still a fraction of the way through thr msq...
      But for speed demons for sure patch prep etc is a big pay day

    1) find a small fc with a house
    2) ask if they have subs
    3) if no offer to join
    4) ask to have access to the subs
    5) spend about 2 months leveling and crafting subs
    6) make about 1 mil gil profit/week from salvage.

      Unidentified Derelict
      Wreckage of Discovery I
      Concealed Bay
      The Wreckage of the Headway
      Should be able to get a couple of those early on and move toward the others as you rank up and upgrade Range and Surveillance
