The buff combos light up on the hot bar depending on what buff timer is lower, might be the first class to do this. So you don't really even need the sword gauge thing.
@@xkmto yea, hut I figured for learning the job that's gonna make things significantly easier. Once muscle memory comes in the gauge will be more helpful.

@@BlaizeTheDragon Just remember if your second combo hit is one or the other, it will always be flank or behind. Hindsfangg and Hindsbite are behind, and the green ones are flank. Ive been playing it, it's pretty bubblegum brain to play. I returned to Ninja but I mean Vipers fun iguess
I got you guys with the simplest guide; follow these steps, and you'll be perfectly prepared for starting Viper. This works for both AOE and single-target rotations. Step 1: Start with Dread skills for 10% DMG Debuff. Step 2: Alternate between Dread to upkeep debuff and steel skills for most damage. *Follow Dotted Lines* (Red skills are rear and green skills are flank). Step 3: Finish with Serpent's Tail. Step 4: Pop Dreadwinder (single-target) or Pit of Dread (AOE). Step 5: Go into your Hunter's and Swiftskin's skills rotations (Hunter's is Flank and Swiftskin's is Rear). Step 6: Reawaken do rotation and save Ouroboros for last as it ends your Awakening. Step 7: Rinse and Repeat until target is dead.
I was expecting something like dual swords stance and combined swords stance. It's quite disappointing to hit the buttons like a swing to the left and to the right. No end goal to look forward to. Samurai has the end goal like the combined all the points to execute the big damage. Or maybe I'm wrong because i main SAM.
For the Dreadwinder/Pit of Dread Combos, you mentioned to use Hunter's Coil/Swiftskin's Coil back to back. Ive also been double weaving Twinfang/Twinblood between each of them and after the second one. (This is pre-90) Is this correct? Ive been over that part of the video a few times and that didnt seem clear.
With what I am seeing, I am liking Viper more and more, considering I just like playing melee. I just hope that when I do dungeons at lower levels, like the Praetorium, my kit won't be severely lacking in things to do, like how Reaper is a very boring class to play at lower levels. With what I am seeing with, that might not be the issues, but I will need to wait until the 28th for early access to see what I would be working with.
Of all the videos I've seen on this class, it's this one that explains it the best. In the most easy to digest kind of way. And it's from way before release. Lol
Thank for the guide, holy shit this job is BUSY. Definitely gonna have to practice on a training dummy with it for a bit cause it was still a bit confusing. Also no damage falloff and all those damage increase buffs this sounds like samurai/dragoon on crack.
It'll be far easier when you get your hands on it, it just sounds busy in theory before you've built muscle memory and got a feel for it directing you.
Might have been worth showing in the visual guide what buttons turn into the 'generation' buttons during burst, thats going to have a major impact on how i set up my poor controller crossbars. Guess ill spend a bit more time in early access staring at tooltips as i do a 2 WT turn in for a free level
In order, the four generations replace: Steel Fang/Steel Maw (Dual Blade's left) Dread Fang/Dread Maw (Dual Blade's right) Hunter's Coil/Hunter's Den (2nd stage of the Rattling Coil/red diamond spender) Swiftskin's Coil/Swiftskin's Den (3rd stage of the Rattling Coil/red diamond spender) All Legacy weaves replace Serpent's Tail, the button you use to weave at the end of each maintenance combo.
I thought the positionnals were gonna be hell to master among all this chaos but it's actually quite doable: Aside from the fact they're always the 3rd move in the base combo (exemple: Dread Fangs -> Swiftskin's Sting -> HINDsbane Fang), that they alternate every time the combo starts over (hind, flank, hind, flank, etc) and that their names hint at where you're supposed to stab (FLANKsbane, HINDsting), their icons are respectively green and red. So if the third move in your base combo is green, stab the flank. If it's red, stab the back. ...well except for "Hunter's Coil/Swiftskin's Coil"... gonna need a trick or a mnemotechnic way to memorize where to stab, with these two.
I still don't get it. I know you are speaking English, my own native language, but I can't make heads or tails of what you are saying. I can't make it past the tutorial for Viper. I can't figure out how to do the combos the quest wants in order to complete it.
This guy speaks too fast and too lightly and drops too many names too quickly. Two minutes in, and I have no clue what he's trying to explain. Who has time for this shit?
i'm a little worried viper will have the Reaper problem where it's made to be fun and engaging at 90 to 100, but lacks interesting interactions below then. Like how reaper basically didn't have positionals until 70(?) and was just "press what lights up and hit an ogcd once every four hits or so" until 80, Same with gunbreaker sub 70. at least picto gets a lot of interactive parts by 60 by the looks of it.
Reawakening is the lvl 90 skill, so yep. You're right. Ouroboros and the oGCD legacies are lvl 100. Up til lvl 90 VPR won't do much other than the filler combo and use Hunter's every 40 seconds.
After playing it: it's awful to play at anything below 70. Even at level 50 you only have 2 major mainstay attacks and while yes, they changed based on combos, you're still only pressing the same two buttons. I really don't know why half the kit is delayed as it is. It's definitely made as a class to be played at intended level or above which is a shame because you still have to level it to enjoy it at Dawntrails content which means low level roulettes
After learning the Viper and see some guide, i figured out that its better to learn it by yourself, the game highlight the skill you must press, just play by clicking what skill highlight and you automaticaly learn how to play the viper with time
The animations for the new jobs are incredible! At some point, they'll need to consider reworking the skill animations for the old jobs because, honestly, some of them, like the Ninja, are starting to look very outdated in comparison.
I uh... I'm sure this guide is very helpful and all but I feel like most of this is gonna just go in one ear and out the other until I finally get my hands on the job myself, lmao. That's just a me problem though.
I tried Picto and was positively surprised about the intuitive yet easy rotation. But Viper? Holy cow. I mean I like DRG and GNB bc those jobs are quicker and more flexible but Viper jumps right outta the window with a double flip. I still have to make sense of all of the comboa to build a fluid and easy to remember rotation on controller. This job is SO confusing! Looks like I have some studying to do again 😐
Feel like i keep missing it but do you mention why theres any need to transfer between dual blade and twin blade modes? From this video im not seeing why youd ever use twinblade mode.
twinblade mode is activated by an ogcd (dreadwinder or pit of dread) on a 40s timer with 2 stacks and the unlocked abilities deal more damage than your 1, 2, 3 combo
I think this plays very much like Reaper. Think of dreadwinder (ignoring aoe portion for now, which is pit of dread) as a combination of shadow of death and soul slice. This GCD has a cooldown and gives you enemy debuff, which you want to keep at all time, and resource, which in this case is "condition" to execute combos that has higher potency while also keeping your speed and damage buff active. Doing enough of both combo earns you serpent offerings (like soul gauge for Reaper), dual blade gives more while twin blade gives less, and you can reawaken for burst damage. I would assume you open with twinblade combo, put up buffs, pop serpent's ire and reawaken for your opener. Then just do your dual blade combo over and over until you have enough to reawaken again.
I think the biggest feedback is there are lots of skills mentioned you don't get when unlocking the job. This makes it quite confusing when unlocking it for the first time and completely lost as all the buttons just get assigned randomly to your hotbar and there's no context what to do. The tutorial isn't great either. I'd suggest grouping skills into purpose (single target and aoe for example) and limit to 80 skills. Only once properly explained, move on to the others.
All skills are on your actions page (hit P in game) you can assign them to hot bars without the ability to use them. And I trust you have the brain power to simply just not need to press them until they are unlocked

Please let skillspeed viper be viable 😂
i fucking HATE getting dropped onto a level 80 class with 3 full bars of skills!!!
let me start from 1 and learn it on the go, who the fuck wants to read skills for an hour to figure out how to chain shit.
Thanks I'll take this to the dev team man
Yeah because having to level it from level 1 if you want to use it for the newest expansion that will take weeks sounds super fun and engaging! And not forget you have pictomancer aswell! I really love spending my time releveling from scratch and wasting my time! :D
While it's nice to have a big arsenal of spells, I do agree with you that there is also an advantage to starting fresh from 1 and learning as you go. That is, building on what you learn. Of course, that requires weeks of leveling!
@@MeldinX2 Your sarcasm doesn't help. @lawlestest simply meant that leveling from 1 provide an advantage in that you learn over a longer period of time. Some people get overwhelmed. Get over it.
Now I have to make my character reference of Kirito. 😂😂😂
He talks toooooooo much
She* and it's a fucking guide dude ofc she's going to explain shit
@@woops Oh shit.-.......
@@woops That voice that I am hearing in the video is a MAN. Not a WOMAN.
can i get banned
Watch this job get a rework next expansion lol. No identity and even stole the core (de)buff mechanic from Reaper
This really isn't a good video to understand the class with.
How come?
still waiting
I thought it's a great starting point to jump in and level. Not even 5minutes and it told me everything I wanted to know to not be a burden on others while leveling.
