- You may not have heard of Lucid Motors but it's already leaps and bounds ahead of established players and setting new benchmarks for the automotive industry in general.
The 2024 Lucid Air is such a well-executed electric vehicle (EV) that the company has established itself as a potential disruptor to the automotive industry. Simply put, the Air is wildly impressive.
AutoTrader.ca Editor-in-Chief Jodi Lai gives her first impressions of Lucid's debut vehicle, a luxury mid-size sedan.

As employee at Lucid i just loved your review !! it totally match with the soul of our Air Model !! great job !!!
Thanks for watching! I got to meet some of your colleagues last week and they were all really cool to talk to! -Jodi
please tell them to make an economical price car to boost sales
@@autotrader_ca if you pass by Geneva please free to visit too 😉 and thanks for your response 😊
@@moty89 They're coming out with a more affordable midsize crossover in the next couple years. -Jodi
@autotrader_ca yeah but will it have the range? In China 🇨🇳 they have EVs that deliver ranges of over 600 miles that would be at a cost of 55k if they were available in the United States. If they can do it, so can the United States 🇺🇸. But Americans always have to settle for less and for more. You come out with something like this? Now we're talking!!! I would be the first one at the gates to buy one immediately!!! This would give the EV owners a real reason to boast the EV. Till then, I'll keep my Jaguar XJL and leave well enough alone.....
Air GT Owner. I watch every single review of the LUCID line up, and by far your review of the line up is the best out there. You feature on what is really important to the consumer, which is range, followed by comfort, design and tech and only touch on power/speed. Way to many channels focus on Speed and Power. But every person looking at an EV, always ask what is the range over every other question. Good for you!
Keep up the good work and good luck.
Thanks so much for the kind words! It's important that we review cars in a way that everyone (even people who aren't into cars) can understand! -Jodi
Well done review! The Lucid beat Tesla in all categories in my opinion.
Ya I don’t think so
except price.
You are a pleasure to listen to. Informative, organized, pleasant… wonderful! Thanks.
Their powertrain (Motor plus gear) is also industry leading.
Jodi, When I saw the words 'Shining Star' in the title, I thought this video was a biopic of your life story. 🤩🤩🤩🤩
HAHAHA awww that's very kind of you to say lol thank you!!! -Jodi
@@autotrader_ca Write your own autobiography before some third rate hack publishes one. Just remember the immortal words of Elvis Costello,
"Even in a perfect world where everyone was equal, I'd still own the film rights and be working on the sequel" 😉😉
Looks wonderful!!! I want one. I will be getting one in a year or two. Need to replace my car and this wonderful looking luxury ev just does it for me. I want the top of the line Sapphire, though.😊
The Sapphire was awesome but the Touring was my favourite one!
I almost bought a Lucid air because, it's the only EV that has a range of 500 miles. But 3 things stopped me. 1, here in Pennsylvania there is only one place in the entire state that works on them 2, it would cost me 100K for that 500 miles of range. 3 I paid 41K for 570 miles of range with my jaguar XJL now paid off. But the Lucid is a very nice car...
Great looking car 👍
Great video and nice to see a woman drive one of these! Also the cost she quoted are in Canadian Dollars, in case you didn’t see the channel name!
Lucid will be the best electric cat in the world 🌎
Electric raccoons are better lol
I can afford a tesla but not a lucid.
Tesla quality is junk. You get what you pay for.
MSRP 77k? what the hell is it "disrupting" that BYD and Tesla aint?
Better build quality, better battery tech, more range.
You get into a Tesla and you see a monster laptop on your dash and that’s all. Tesla is a big disappointment on the inside. Lucid looks beautiful and how a car should look
Best Ev 🤩😍🤩😍😍😍
For the people that go straight to the comments before watching the full video these cars start at 90 grand
Oh yeah chump change. I'm going to pick up two tomorrow 😂😂!
Love the design but I think it's aimed at such an exclusive clientele they might just fail.
They will be coming out with a more affordable mid-size SUV in a couple year's time. -Jodi
I'm not an EV fan. Mostly due to the fact that most of them are garbage. But I'm really rooting for Lucid. Great looking. Great tech. Not some empty shell of a car and nicely appointed...but not not appointed well enough for those price tags...ouch.
What makes them garbage? What non-garbage or diamond design car do you own?
Lucid may be a California based company but a large percentage of their vehicles are NOT built in California. In fact, the vehicles are built proudly in Casa Grande Arizona just south of Phoenix where the largest Intel and TSMC chip plants are being built in the United States.
Arizona prides these tech companies who call Arizona their home base of renovation compared to the communist state of California.
Correction: I get 1143 kilometers range in my car.
We live in USA we don’t got by Kilometer we use miles 😊
I'm from Canada and this is a Canadian channel, so I put a "u" in colour and I use the metric system! -Jodi
Way too many mentions of "vibes." Lucid isn't a Coachella band. They make cars with engineering a decade ahead of anyone else.
Great feedback, your vibes are pretty crunchy though ;) -Jodi

It seems like the designers were trying to mimic the Dodge Charger…
Why i. The hell is she speaking kilometers vs miles testing a car in California 😓
