Love Lucid styling, congratulations. Going by what EVs are going now a days, $850 is average. I have seen Merc EQS SUV 580 (2023) for as low as $710 recently in SoCal.
Thanks for a very useful review. Great explanations of how car drives and rides. and a good overview of all the options on the screens. A beautiful vehicle inside and out. Now that Cory Steuben works there I think Lucid has a great future. On Sept 9, Peter did a tech update that was very impressive. I will test drive one tomorrow. Will be interesting to see how it compares to Teslas I have owned and my current main ride - a BMW iX.
What people are spending on car leases right now blows my mind I’ll just stick with my 2015 until absolutely necessary. Car company’s have lost their minds…
I did a build for the Lucid Air Touring and it came in substantially more than I car I chose over it - the BMW i5 M60. The Lucid had better range, more storage, and a beautiful interior. But, the BMW won in technology, the hands free driving at 85mph, the Bowers & Wilkins sound system, seating position, and just an overall better driving experience. Car Play is seamlessly integrated into BMW’s iDrive. The navigation in the heads up display works with the native app or Apple Maps. The digital key always works. They have used the same software in their ICE cars, so it’s well tested.
I can see how all those points you listed are valid - except the driving experience. the BMW i5 feels bigger than it is, like a 7 series. the Lucid feels smaller and more nimble.
Why doesn’t anyone want one? Well, if you’re 6’2” or taller, getting in and out without hitting your head isn’t a major problem. A few of us tall guys were just talking about this at Cars & Coffee yesterday in Great Falls, VA.
One important question if I may ask. How is the air conditioning. Does it work well. That’s an important issue with me. I am looking at two cars. Lucid and Cadillac Lyriq.
Since I can qualify for $15000 in incentives, including the 7500 rebate, that has gotten me into getting a refreshed Model 3 lease for $231 per month for 36 months. Teslas seem like a mess to own, even though they have improved but I was quite pleased with the steering wheel being just like my logitech sim wheel, the car isn't too big or too small, and negligible maintenance. I might actually get one, OR hopefully spend $34K on a 2022 Maserati and hope it doesn't depreciate 20% after a year. OR a sensible 21' 540i or E350
@@aviadstark6215 I have been in the Ghiblis, Quattroporte and Levante and every year I get in one, they’ve improved and their new lineup with the MC20, Grecale, GT is stunningly great. Air GT owner, Their sound system (even the 21 speaker version) leaves much to be desired. No bass response, and the speaker "buzz". Your speaker is not blown, it means the factory took a short cut when installing the speaker. My door speakers were the same way, and it too me and the tech tearing the front door assembly completely apart to find that the factory used electical tape on a hole that they should have used "metal tape" on. Once the metal tape was put into position, blown sound disappeared. But still very little bass response. :( Lane keeping, I keep it turned off all the time, it is constantly correcting you durng normal driving and it gets SO annoying. Apple Car play complaint....who cares, not at all important in the grand scheme of things. The connectivity of your carplay to the car is a software issue, mainly because the OS of the car is Android based, and that interfacing with IOS....well problems a-plenty. :( Backseat leg room, I agree with you here, I'm 6'9" and I have plenty of leg room behind my driving position. The super soft leather in the back really makes me wish it was in the front too, but I understand the need for durability in the front. However, Range is King for me, and I will gladly have my larger capacity battery over the 2 times I have had passengers in the back over the past year and a quarter. Range for me has consistantly been 470 miles on the 21" wheels. There are times on a full charge I will get 465 miles of range, but that can easily be made up with good driving. Stop being a leadfoot and your range will get better. Doing a review on the range and jumping on it all the time isn't a fair review, and then whining about the range later wishing it was more.....SMH. Overall I'm glad you are happy with your lease, and remember, you already know you are fast, you don't have to prove it! Range is King!
If you have Surreal Sound Pro subscription on your vehicle and it sounds like that, its a problem and you need to visit a service center. Otherwise, the base speakers sound like crap, I know because I've test driven plenty to do inspections on and Surreal Sound is a must for the best listening experience.
18 months lease or 1.5years, then all those cars that are returned will be flooding the market and probably purchase one at less than half the cost of when they left Casa Grande Assembly Plant. Right now, you can get used Teslas in $20's. EVs will not keep its resale value compared to normal cars. So I guess I answered my own question. Leasing should be the way to go and if you want to buy one, buy used.
1. Great video 2. Lucid has been my new dream car since they came out 3. Leasing will always be stupid to me 4. Great video! I am heavily considering leasing one here in Texas, to replace my Model Y (financed). I don't need the Model Y's space and am not terribly keen on the vehicle, the only thing holding me back right now is that I can't trade in my Tesla. Love Lucid styling, congratulations. Going by what EVs are going now a days, $850 is average. I have seen Merc EQS SUV 580 (2023) for as low as $710 recently in SoCal.
Once the software matures these things will be perfect! Really hope Lucid can make it through this tough financial times.
Dude. Very well done video and review.subbed. you should have a million subs by now
I rarely see this vehicle out cause of the price tag being too high and it’s a really beautiful car for sure
Nice Lucid, a few months ago I saw an hour long documentary on Lucid and was extremely impressed I hope the sell more of these wonderful EVs.
Best looking EV 100%
Lucid’s engineering is beyond incredible. I wish they could succeed.
Best looking EV, if I was looking for one, that would be the one!!
This is the first good Lucid Spec I’ve seen and I think you’ve won me over with it
Nice and honest review
Glad you liked it!
What people are spending on car leases right now blows my mind I’ll just stick with my 2015 until absolutely necessary. Car company’s have lost their minds…
"Hello, and welcome to... a cloud" is my new favourite line intro for any video.
Love Luicid. Test drove the Grand Touring at their HQ recently. Lease at $2/mile is quite expensive.
Better NVH, better suspension tuning, better powertrain, better materials, yet not worth the $20k over the Model S? Yeah okay, lol.
I love how you blur the speedometer lol, good choice.
I came to the same conclusion...and no one whacks their heads getting in and out of the BMW, unlike the Lucid!
I can see how all those points you listed are valid - except the driving experience. the BMW i5 feels bigger than it is, like a 7 series. the Lucid feels smaller and more nimble.
I test drove the Air Touring and the car is incredible, it has the speed and handling of a Porsche and the comfort and quality of a Benz
Maseratis are glorified Fiat's - don't buy one - they are crap cars...
@@aviadstark6215 I have been in the Ghiblis, Quattroporte and Levante and every year I get in one, they’ve improved and their new lineup with the MC20, Grecale, GT is stunningly great. Since they have been making the Ghibli from 2013 and refined all the bad stuff, the massive depreciation and it being relatively new makes it an interesting proposition.
$231 for a monthly lease on a Tesla? Are you putting anything down?
@@kwsrchoudhury The formula is this: ((307 * 35)+(5,006)-(7500))/36. The $5006 is the due at signing which includes the first monthly payment and downpayment. The 7500 is the Oregon Charge Ahead Rebate I qualify for. That figure also include s the federal tax credit of 7500.
Consumer reports says hidden maintenance is higher than gas. Car
I watch your other tech channel , big fan! I just found out that you are a car guy and computer geek like me! I hope you put some more content out on the car side!
absolutely! do not buy as you'll lose half your value within the first year. But DO lease one! They're awesome!
My 09 RL Acura was more or less similar but without a stealth mode and Sun roof
Really want lucid to succeed especially with the gravity, but now I’m addicted to fsd and super charger network I can’t see me changing
I have not seen a single owner confirming anywhere close of mile range what they are mentioning in the website
Backseat leg room, I agree with you here, I'm 6'9" and I have plenty of leg room behind my driving position.
Otherwise, the base speakers sound like crap, I know because I've test driven plenty to do inspections on and Surreal Sound is a must for the best listening experience.
what was your down payment, how many miles can you drive a year, and what's your total monthly including insurance?
18 months lease or 1.5years, then all those cars that are returned will be flooding the market and probably purchase one at less than half the cost of when they left Casa Grande Assembly Plant. Right now, you can get used Teslas in $20's. EVs will not keep its resale value compared to normal cars. So I guess I answered my own question. Leasing should be the way to go and if you want to buy one, buy used.
1. Great video
2. Lucid has been my new dream car since they came out
3. Leasing will always be stupid to me
4. I def can't afford $1400/mo to finance 🙃 but yes I think Lucid (and Rivian) is killing everyone right now. I personally don't care for SUVs. I'm a sedan guy and def will get my hands on a Lucid Air Pure one day. (unless Ford resurrects to make an EV sedan)
Great video!
May I know what is the color? Is it Cosmo Silver or Quantum Grey? Thank you!
Needs a hybrid or e tendedgas range model.
Do they have lane centering and or self driving yet?
Amazing frunk and trunk, amazing mileage, looks incredible, spacious inside, good infotainment screen, plaid acceleration, and feels amazing to drive. Honestly top 3 cars on the market rn
This does not have Plaid acceleration. It is 1 second slower zero to 60 which is A LOT.
Only down side would be charging right since no NACS?
would love to lease one of these however im int he midwest and i cant imagine there are service centers anywhere within 500 miles
The Lucid Air is a sleek car. Congrats!
Great spec. Looks great.
Beautiful car! It’s actually luxurious, too. I’d love to have one. I truly don’t understand the fascination with driving cheapo Tesla vans!
I’m leasing my 2023 Lucid Air pure all-wheel-drive with upgraded stereo for $315 per month and only $1000 down!
lol watched this video and ordered myself a similar spec touring with pro sound system for $620/m @ 18m lease before the video was even finished
Insurance and mileage limit buy options are not mentioned.
How’s the car holding up? Still highly recommended?
How much are you paying for insurance?
Great video! I am heavily considering leasing one here in Texas, to replace my Model Y (financed). I don't need the Model Y's space and am not terribly keen on the vehicle, the only thing holding me back right now is that I can't trade in my Tesla. Did you have any problem getting home chargers installed and what does your car insurance look like?
It has a modern day ford probe look to it. The EV market has definitely cooled off. We had a good number of lease return and trade-in Etrons that had to get wholesaled because their value had tanked.
What is tue main camera you are using ? Looks stunning!!
FYI, a panoramic sunroof isn’t a perk. It’s a bad design decision. Other than that, it’s absolutely one of the best looking EVs out there.
Great review , def don't agree with some of your complaints (apple car play presentation), but overall - big thumbs up! How much was your down payment to get $850/month ?
They don't have dealership in Charlotte
why did you keep blurring out the speedo?
Y’all saying it’s not being sold, but in Los Angeles, I’ve seen the same amount as Rivians.
Taycan hands down best looking, but Lucid is most impressive technology wise
Yep, by a country mile
what is this color? it looks amazing? grey stealth?
Some aren't buying these great cars because they are Tesla (or Elon) fanboys. Lucid also needs to advertise their range to overcome the range anxiety of some.
