      Hi Tony,
It's been while I started to follow you, I'd like to see strength training of a advanced boxer. For both lower body and upper body strength, I do weighted pull ups and dips, do they benefit me or should I quit and focus on different variations to improve my boxing power.
My focus is to improve punching speed and power.
I also take dumbells of 2.5kg to 7.5kg and holding them in my fist and begin to throw and pull back to improve my punching power , I'll look forward for your answer and help.
You're appreciated with what you're doing, thank you.

Hi Tony could you do a video on how to load the body when throwing various combinations but also show how you might switch part way through if being countered. I know you’ve kind of covered it.
Edit: could you do a video explaining the falling forward/into the punch method as used by Dempsey and Tyson.

Had a little boxing in college and learned just how much craft and hard work is involved. I've had a heavy bag in my garage for many years, and now that I'm seventy years old I find that it's excellent for cardio, stamina, and upper-body muscle tone, which is all the more important for me after having six-bypass open heart surgery three years ago. Watching this video I realize I'm doing some things wrong, but then I don't plan on getting in the ring or getting in too many street fights. Probably wouldn't work out too well. 😁

I swear he has a camera up in my gym and is just making lists to make fun of me.
I throw bombs...and get tired within 30 sec.
    I don't move my head.
    I don't move my feet.
I drop my hands between punches (though been working on that).
    I don't throw feints,
BUT I keep watching your videos and I do notice that I have become aware of my deficiencies.

Great video Tony. As you would already know, the heavy bag is popular but can encourage bad habits. I wanted to add to the points you made - my old coach use to tell me: if the bag is swinging towards you and out (in a straight line) throw straight punches as the bag swings AWAY (great for footwork, timing), if the bag swings side to side, throw hooks and uppercuts, again, try to hit the bag as it swings away as it is very easy to simply punch the bag as it swings toward you, but is risking wrist damage over time.
Lastly, the biggest mistake I continue to make is to telegraph my punches with my eyes when going to the body, so I try to keep my eyes focused on the one spot on the bag.
    Cheers from Oz.

One more thing I’d add is to bend the knees and hips a little. Standing completely upright with your hips and knees locked out prevents you from utilizing your body more to throw punches. Also having your legs bend a bit and hips opened up also helps with footwork and head movement since you’re already in an athletic stance it’s a smoother transition into footwork and moving your head.

Tony, I wonder if your hand injuries were caused by the way boxers are taught to strike? In karate, practitioners are taught to hit with only the two largest knuckles. That not only concentrates all your power into a smaller area for deeper penetration but it focuses your power into the larger, stronger bones in the hand. That's why karate practitioners do knuckle push-ups on just those two knuckles to toughen them up. In boxing, they are taught to hit with the whole hand - all four knuckles. Sometimes, as in a hook, blows land with just the two smaller knuckles. It's not hard to break those smaller bones in the hand and in the smaller knuckles. They just can't take the pounding that the larger knuckles and bones can take. For the most part, boxers can get away with hitting with the whole hand since their hands are wrapped tightly and they wear big, padded gloves. But, as it seems in your case, your bones may be more fragile than most and just can't take the force on those smaller bones. Let me add that your advice is GOLDEN. Everything you say is probably what Cus D'Amato told to Mike Tyson. I'm going to find all your videos so I can get the best advice and training.

Hi mate - most of the people going to my gym are doing boxing for fitness, and It's not what other people think of them - but it's for personal improvement
The more people think they are in good form - the more they will feel good in their training... You know what I mean mate? it's for Personal

BTW, you have THE BEST videos on the Tube, bar none! You're always concise and direct to the point. It's not always easy to spend 18 minutes, for example, listening to someone talk about the proper way to throw a jab. You offer golden nuggets in a compact format. Cheers, Tony!

10 things to quit for all Strong Men:
    1. Caring about what others think
    2. Not believing in yourself
    3. Not experimenting different ideas / solutions for problems (life&business)
    4. Not prioritizing your health
    5. Wasting your precious time
    6. Wanting something (instead write a plan and work towards it)
    7. Chasing meaningless relationships
    8. Wasting or draining your energy from beating your meat 🥩
    9. Wasting time by scrolling social media
    10. Nailbiting/nailpicking habit for good (if you do it - consider stopping it as it makes you mentally weak + affects your confidence and all other areas of your life!)
Take it easy and I hope you found one thing helpful in this list......................

So many variations on heavy bag work. Depends on your goals and what you’re trying to accomplish (endurance, power, speed, accuracy, technique) Do you, do your thing. Figure out what works for you and don’t give a damn what people have to say unless it will benefit your goals.
