I swear this shit works. It really does. I'm 39 and I can attest to this, these bag exercises have kept me lean and conditioned. Coincidentally I too use the 16oz gloves to hit the bag but instead of a standard bag I use an 90lbs aqua bag because I absolutely love the feel of the impact its far more sturdy.
I'm 41 and I'm more in shape than my younger son ..he couldn't spar with me for 3 minutes without getting tired lol

@@WordOfTruth316 ill be 44, last October i started punching the bag, i always punch at least 1 hour, sometimes more and always 5 times a week, usually evenings, i also jump rope sometimes, and in 7 months im in amazing shape. Ive noticed my legs and back, hell my whole body is way stronger, i used to be on blood pressure pills but now my blood pressure is perfect or below what its supposed to be and i no longer need the pills. Punching the bag has changed my life, if i dont punch my body tells me to punch, idk its weird, its like i have to punch now. Only problem is now i wanna spar lol think im too old for that lol

What I like about it is that it has the heft to stay largely in place so I'm not chasing it around. It's tall enough to allow for headshots and body shots, but it's short enough to give an uppercut somewhere to land. I'm very happy so far. Filling it was a bit of a cluster. For top-offs, I've learned that you can screw the supplied nozzle onto any basic plastic water bottle. I can't speak to durability as I've only had it a week.

This is good stuff to watch. Im 37 and obese but strong. 5 months ago jumped onto the keto diet and lost 30lbs so far but feels like more when seeing my clothes. I bought a Ringside 150lb bag, 16oz gloves, wraps and do my best on the bag until my arms feel heavy to lift. Definitely a fun way to workout, not fast but can send that bag swinging with a hard hook. Its got a tube inside i can add another 50lbs of sand to bring to 200lbs as well
When your arms feel heavy take a break for a few minutes focus on your breathing in through your nose deep and then out through your mouth. Then get back ag it for round two and then call it a day after every couple times add a little

To lose weight you dont need to go hard on the bag or all out. You see Manny P does a HIT version cause thats how he fights. Floyd version is slow and steady to build up endurance and focus on techniques. Plus he had hand breaks so he cant go hard on the bag anymore. He will throw occasional power shots. Additionally, if you just walk and monitor your diet you will drop weight.
Floyd's new name should be "Motivational Mayweather"...

I naturally throw my hooks with a diagonal fist. The instructor at the gym told me to just keep it like that.

You dont have to turn, whatever is comfortable and doesnt hurt ur hand or wrist and doesnt hurt ur elbow, ur elbow can get ligament or tendon damage from wild punches
