Lol, one of our worst meals out was at a top rated very expensive restuarant for a special occassion, 8 "courses", a couple of which were foam on ceramic small spoons. The fish tasted like it had been cooked in dish water, my hubby's steak was literally a mouthful. Each course came with gushing descriptions, with the chef hovering nearby. Each course was served at the same time to all the guests. We bought takeaways on the eay home. Sometimes I think the rich are so busy schmoozing each other, they dont notice the food😂

Along with the frozen butter, we also need the bread to be as crumbly as possible. Having breadcrumbs as an appetizer will definitely upset our customers.

I've never been to one of those super fancy restaurants but I have seen pictures and seen them on TV shows and whatnot and wow this is SUPER accurate. Pay a ton of money for so little. 😂🤣💀☠️. Trust me its super accurate lmao . Family went out to a "5 star restaurant" once in our lives for a real speacial occasion and dear god it was the worst dining experience i ever had. Plates were basically empty. The food that was on the plate tasted horrible( i couldnt even finish the 2 bites it came with), and the water straight tasted like Tap water.
I really dont know why anyone with a brain would ever waste their money there.

I work at Red Robin as a busser and sure it's a burger restaurant but we give you plenty to eat for the price u pay. Like we have burgers that are as high as $16 but you have unlimited refills of fries and drinks. And the burgers are large. At the SUPER fancy restaurants yes very little for so much lol.

Most higher end non American restaurants serve a normal portion size btw even though to Americans it’s small because most Americans have been conditioned to think super sized 4000 calorie meals are normal when they are not.

Took my girlfriend to a restaurant just as described that was in a high rise building. It was the most expensive, lobster bisque, 2 shrimp, a steak the size of my thumb, and some bread sticks. The food was average, but at least the view was nice 😂.

This shit is TRUE! I avoid the super high-end restaurants now, Used to go in them now and then, and sometimes literally had to get something to eat after. A guy I knew in London summed it up: "A lot of fancy names on the food, no food on the plate."

I went to a "5 star restaurant" and ordered their steak 5 course meal. My steak was about the size of a brownie square, my mashed potatoes were cubed really fancy and also the size of a small brownie square, the veggies were things I've never seen before but they tasted good, I got a bunch of desserts and a salad. Everything was good but I was out like $60 and ended up going to McDonald's after. Like yeah the food was good but I'm fat give me an 18 ounce steak

I've had the opportunity to dine at a few fine dining establishments (a few French ones and Italian ones) At least the ones I've tried were amazing. Sure the portions are small, but they give so many courses in the span of 1-3 hours, it gets filling quite quickly. One of the benefits of trying these places is that I can try making them at home afterwards which usually comes out nicely. Still to this day my favorite thing is foie gras.

I actually work in fine dining, and you would not believe how little money these places make. A fine dining restaurant is considered successful if your getting a 10% profit. From the oputside i can see why people think its a huge scam but believe me, no one is getting rich off them
