Eating A $3,000 Michelin Star Dinner
Вставка
- Опубліковано 13 тра 2024
- Yes, I spent $15,000 on food in one day. But before you judge, wait until you see what three star dining looks like. In just a day, I ate breakfast at a one Michelin star restaurant, lunch at a two star, and dinner at a three star. Even getting a reservation at a Michelin star restaurant is difficult, let alone actually dining and stomaching the often steep price of the meal.
I want to give a massive thanks to the three restaurants and their amazing teams for allowing us to document the experience and even venture into their sacred kitchens. Those of you watching should consider yourselves lucky, too. Seeing behind-the-scenes in such high-end kitchens is something truly special.

Plot Twist: Nick is actually a secret Michelin inspector for the guides, he’s making it so obvious that he can’t be so that we wouldn’t even suspect it.
I agree
Big brain
I wanna go into that second resteraunt so bad and use my left hand when I first walk in so they give me the wrong sided spoon, then start using the spoon with my right hand just to screw with them😂

Awesome talk with Chef Gabriel Kreuther ! His love for cuisine and how he honors his roots and country-side through it is so moving 🥰
This was by far the best video Nick has ever made. I felt like I was there with him. The Head Chef at the 2 star Michelin was an amazing addition to the segment. Great Video!!!!

Sometimes we get lost in nicks fantastic funny and great flavor filled videos, and we forget how great of a chef Nick really is. How high tier and how much respect Nick has in the culinary space. It was refreshing to see Nick in his element. Great video Nick, would love to see more of this style.

Chef Kreuther is amazing and hugely humble, just an amazing person for sure. Chef Thomas is another amazing and humble chef, I got a chance to eat at the French Laundry with a few of my chef friends, worth every penny spent. Does anyone wonder if Nick just name drops himself like “yeah I’m a finalist of Masterchef. Train under Gordon himself” lol that would be amazing
Whats the point of saying that, those chefs who work at the 3 michelin stars restaurant are probably Gordan Ramsay's level.
@@epitaph20 yeah most of them are under him tho most likely the executives chef are on his level.
If he walked into per se and said he was trained Under Gordon he would be looked down upon. Keller is worlds above
people with tact don't do that. it's cringey. masterchef is also kind of a joke, it's all about "home cooks" and sob stories, not michelin-star quality chefs.

There is something about listening to a crowd of people like at 5:18 that is so satisfying to me, its like a warm feeling inside me.
Last year, my husband and I decided we were going to try to go to all 22? Michelin Star restaurants in the DC area. We’ve been to three so far and have a reservation for the fourth next month. All one stars. El Cielo has 22 courses! Fantastic. Being able to dine on this level is a food lover’s dream! Such a blessing!!
hm 22 seem not bad
My wife and I went to Singapore for our honey moon and we went to a Michellin star restaurant, the food was very exceptional. Don't think we would go to a 2 or 3 star any time soon. One day though 🙂
We are indeed blessed
If I may ask, which one was it?
Was it the $2.25 michelin star chicken from the food stall?
I have heard that Singapore's street food is so good that you can enjoy it just as much as the $300 a plate dining. Sometimes even more so.
@@memexpert He mentioned restaurant, not hawker stall.

The higher the price the smaller the food.
Hello Nick! I know that this isn't an idea that would happen anytime soon but recently I went a a cruise called the Harmony of the seas. While on the ship we went to a restaurant called "Wonderland" it was an interesting experience and while it does cost extra it's definitely worth the experience. The food was like a said interesting it wasn't your traditional meal it consisted of a garden as one of the appetizers (it was all edible) I know that the chances you see this and then actually think about the idea is incredibly low. Anyways awesome video keep it up!

Love the video! I work for a company and we provide all 3 of the restaurants with some produce, especially high end and rare fruits and vegetables! I have been to all 3 of them 🥺 stunning

Should do a Nick with friends cooking series. Great videos Love ya Nick
You forgot to tell people it's not about the quantity bit quality of the ingredients and the experience eating in one .If you want to get full go to a buffet or steakhouse.
the attention to detail with the left or right handed spoon is flawless service
Fantastic vid, it makes a nice change to find someone in these sorts of vids who isn't obnoxious, an interesting look into a chunk of NYC's fine dining scene.
I've actually got a similar thing planned, only in Paris instead of NYC and spread across three days instead of one (too much food for me!).
Dinner at the one star (Auguste), lunch at the two Star (Le Taillevent), then dinner at the three star (Pierre Gagnaire).
that sounds nice, enjoy

Never ate at 3 in 1 day but I have eaten in quite a few……however the best meal I had at one was Joel Robuchon at Las Vegas. And it was not by far the most expensive. These restaurants you went to look great. Great video.

Amazing Journey, thanx Nick. My fav was Gabriel Kreuthers Restaurant. The Asian Sommelier at the End. Very Awkward, He was like who let these Hooligans in here!! 🤣😅😁
Hey Nick! I know a restaurant in Canada Quebec in Montreal that is really fancy. The name of the restaurant is Da Vinci. You should go eat there its worth it! Expensive but worth it!

It would have been funny if you went straight to Masa next door after finishing at Per Se for a sushi feast...🤣

I think it would be really cool if you ate at a Michelin star restaurant, took notes on what you had, and tried to make everything at home, and see how well you can do. Sort of like a bougie version of “But Better.”
make this comment famous
dont think that is allowed, at least copying dishes isnt looked well upon
@@luckysaurus791 What do you mean allowed? It's not like he's selling the dishes.
Even if some restaurants wouldn't want him putting their food on the internet, I'm sure there's a restaurant that would be willing to work with him, I'm not saying he should do it behind their back.
@@luckysaurus791 So if a michelin star restaurant makes pizza, youtube channels can't post pizza recipes? and as @Kieran Kaempan said, they could get permission from the restaurant if it was an original dish.

Ambience and expectations are worth a lot. Everyone knows how even a hot dog or simple food tastes so great around a campfire or other enjoyable surroundings...
13:04 Wow, I don't think I've eve seen Nick's pupil's this dilated before. Either the lightning in that dining room is pretty low, or he's tripping balls xD

2 Stars, L'Alexandre, Michel Kayzer, Garon
3 Stars, Auberge du vieux puit, Gilles Goujon, Fontjoncouse
All restaurants were perfect culinary experiences :)
Glad to live in France where these kind of restaurants are quite "common" :p
I’m actually going to a Michelin star restaurant in a couple weeks, and IM SO EXCITED! I wouldn’t have had this idea if it weren’t for u nick.
15:35 it’s killing me that the chocolates on the left aren’t placed correctly 😂
Fun fact for those who are playing along at home, the Michelin Guide was originally created due to the decrease of car tyre sales as Michelin made them too well. To counter balance this, Michelin started suggesting restaurants to eat at that was really far away so people would wear their tyres out quicker and thus buy new tyres...mind blown!
Just having ergonomic cutlery and bringing it to you by MERELY OBSERVING which hand you use for appetizers is enough to make want to try Gabriel. Attention to detail is my love language 😍😍
its true though, kind of miss iems blackness and energy
it has different ambience and presentation not found in other types
I love how you move your hands like that! I do the same thing 😂🤍
