If it weren't for fields in my area I wouldn't have but one tool, one complete point, and one drill for a collection which I've found in various waterway searches, so I'd definitely missed plowed fields too. Thanks
That site looks promising. You can tell that the field hasn't seen a lot of agriculture on it as some of those pieces were decent sized. I'm hoping you get some good rain and more turns up. I'll be watching!
I'm planning on giving it another chance to offer up some more, although it was a good scouting trip I know a pounding rain would surely do it good.Hopefully it comes before growth of the cover crop.Seems like its unusual to get many heavy fall rains unlike spring when temps cause more tuberlence.
Nice finds it's always exciting and gets your adrenaline going when you go to a new field you,ve never been to, the possibilities are certainly there flint spall next hunt with a heavy rain could really pay off
Oh yeah,I was thrilled once I started finding flakes. From past experience, I knew I was getting warmer.:>) Hope the rain comes and I can hit er just right again.:>) Thanks
Agreed.Perhaps the camp is a little larger once the sod portion of the field gets worked like the rest.It appears like the farmers ripped a plot in the middle which is often done to avoid any flood zone, but once they saw the reaction for a season it seems they busted the sod around the edges a good amount closer to the waterway, which could enlarge the site, if their plan is to tend a bigger crop new year.Hopefully that's the case.
Heck yeah, new spot is sure nuff exciting !!!! Awesome finds, congrats on the new field, brother Spall !!😃🙌 Hope it turns out some more ,after a hard rain 🌧.... Then ya can name the field 😎👊⛏🍀🍀
May have to name it the driving range,I collected 18 of em, and I walked past the first dozen before I started cleaning em up.:>) Not to mention how many has been tilled under.Maybe there's some more artifacts to be unearthed also. Thanks fir the comment.
Its been a good long time for me too.I look forward to returning once we get some rain. It's sits just like it has since the first trip without rain or tilling.I just spoke with the farmer today and he said he'd call me when either its rained or the grounds tilled again. Can't ask for more accommodation than that.:>)
It was promising on my first search, howbeit small, I don't mind small. Those artifacts that are there needs a safe place. That's where I come into play :>)
Nice points ! Funny thing you found that core , i went out today and found a core, a big one about twice that size, in fact its the only thing I found this year, haven't been out much this year, can't wait to see what you find next, in that new field , good luck!!!
Thanks.Looking forward to going again if the rains come before the cover crop takes over.Should find some more although probably not a slide load beings it appears to have been a small camp, but I'm happy with 1.:>) Congrats on your find also.
That little place gave you very nice pieces my friend. That leaf is very well decorated with those stripes. When we search the great plains, we start all around and then we also search in the middle part going back and forth from one side to the other until we finish checking it. Very good finds my good friend. BLESSINGS.
Thank you.It pays to spend enough time in a new area, else you could pass on a decent campsite however small.I can't imagine hunting the plains without wood lines and creeks as perimeters.I'd be lost I suppose without a treetop to help keep oriented,LOL. Blessings to you as well!!
@@FlintSpall Yes friend, it is difficult to find your way sometimes because we do not have references. The safest thing is GPS but we don't have it. We have the GPS in our brain but sometimes the sun turns the other way and it feels very ugly. Somehow we have moved forward. On the last occasion that we got lost, Poncho and I spent 6 hours looking for our way back until it became night and we oriented ourselves by a powerful reflector that Pepe had on the jeep. BLESSINGS TO MY GOOD FRIEND.
@@coyotearrowheadhunting3083 Wow that's a long time to be lost.I'm sure you we're glad to have one another tho.I suppose you guys have learned to take plenty of water just in case.I've lost my way in wooded areas with night fall approaching and while I eventually found civilization, I was miles away from my vehicle.Lost is lost where er it happens.LOL
Looks like you hit it just right for sure, always great when your successful at a new spot, might not need a bucket quite yet, but fill a couple of pockets, keep on em 😎😎😎
I need a bucket for the golf balls tho.I grabbed up 18.:>) Gratifying trip for sure.I plan on tromping it again once it gets washed better.I'd be surprised if nothing else shows up.
I miss hunting plowed fields. It's nice to see they still exist once in a while. Congrats on the great finds!

Good target practice...
Swing club, grab pew pew !!!🤣👊
Looked like a good time for a newly tilled field. I haven't looked in a new spot in many years.

What beauties you are finding. When i hunt , i keep the broken and sometimes the flakes
I do bring the broken ones home, but the flakes I just leave, unless they show that they used them. Thanks to ya!

That tool sure is a pretty one!
Looking forward to it given I can get the rain to cooperate. That tyrone stuff is attractive for sure. Thanks
