ELEGOO has been manufacturing 3D printer components and parts since 2014 and with years of experience in 3D printing, we finally developed our own 3D printer using UV photo-curing technology. We’d like to present you our very first LCD photo-curing 3D Printer- ELEGOO Mars.
Great industrial design and user-friendly system, we make ELEGOO Mars suitable for anyone to use even though you have never used a 3D printer before. The semi-assembled printer will save your time setting up when you receive it and within 5 minutes you could start printing your first model we provided - a Christmas deer, which could be easily sliced using our newly released ChiTu Box slicing software.
Work together with ELEGOO photopolymer resin, you would be amazed at how perfect your model turns out to be - high resolution and super performance in details.
Fast Slicing Software
ELEGOO Mars comes with the latest version of ChiTu Box Slicing Software which gives you extraordinary user experience. ChiTu Box takes only 1 minute to slice 30Mb .stl model files while the open-sourced slicing software would take up to 10minutes.
Resin saving and Better Printing
ChiTu Box allows you to hollow out your model before slicing which could save your resin dramatically during photo-curing process. Equipped with 40W UV lights and using ELEGOO resin, you can get a better printing result.
Smart and Convenient
3.5'' inch color touch screen equipped with the latest ELEGOO ChiTu 5.0 system makes it very easy for off-line printing. The build platform with steel ball balancing structure inside allows you to start printing within 5 minutes after assembly.
High Precision and Resolution
ELEGOO Mars uses a 2560x1440 2K HD masking LCD as to provide accurate printing with XY axis resolution of 0.00185inches / 0.047mm

Dude, the supports come off before curing. :-)
does the manual include safety instructions as well? Also may I know how to sand the resins safely at home such as equipments required etc.
5:57 hello from the future, today I'm buying an Elegoo Mars just for the included face masks!
yohhh how is your 3d printer, did u get it?
Lol
If you print hollow you need to create holes for the resin to drain if not you will have uncured resin inside that's your issues.
if Im printing in hole, and I add at least one (1) drain hole, should I put it on the "bottom" of the orientation during printing, or the "bottom" of the finished product?? Thanks
@@Klaymour28 either should work. just be sure to flip it over and let it go out, if the hole is quite small add a 2nd hole to let air get in if you put it on the bottom orientation it might have some resin in it when done but most of it should already have drained during printing while it was still open on the top during the print.
AT LAST: a quick "spot on" video including unbox/setup/print for noobs (resin printer noobs), withOUT f-ing muzak in the background. Thanks!
Thanks!
Thank you very much for showing the software too! You've been a big help. My test prints are at 99 percent!!
Thank you so much for helping me learn about my new printer. I wish I could’ve tipped you more.❤
I just returned a Ender3 printer after weeks of not getting my prints to stick to the bed. Different temps, filaments, adhesives, glue sticks etc. I just ordered this resin printer. I hope that I have better luck with it.
I have an ender3 also that I use for larger prints. If your prints aren't sticking you either didn't level the bed right, you lowered the bed too far below the z-axis brakes and confused it, or your model in cura or whatever was above the z-axis. I had the same problem myself and it was the second issue I mentioned. Suppose your past the solving stage on that one tho at this point.
Okay it's been 5 years it's still good
I’m receiving my Elegoo Mars soon and I’ll be sure to refer back to this for setting mine up!
15:10 You have a lot of bubbles because you shacked it the wrong way, the best way to "shacke it" is to give slow rotation to the bottle.
try taking the supports off before you put the print in alchol and before curing. they come off easier and neater.
Should you do it after the alcohol bath? But before sunlight drying?
just bought this for my dad who does hobby modelling for fun and an architect professionally. I think he's gonna love it
Love the detail on the tank. It's from the Metal Slugs arcade/videogames if anyone is wondering.
GOD, they're still making those games aren't they Lmao? I remember one came out in 2016 and I bought it for nostalgia, but I still think that the OG one from 1996 is the best by far
Thanks Man U just got goated
I set mine up and am watching this while my test prints (the two rook towers) are printing. I hope mine turn out as good as yours!
Thanks Just Vlad, I just got to this for Christmas and it really helped me set it up. Thanks for the instructions!
On year later and I am here for the same reason!
I always use a supports I recommend for everyone else to use supports
Ordered one coming in soon hope my experience is as smooth as you made it look
Instead of curing outside you can also use a little UV lighting setup in a box, it’s the uv light that cures the resin quicker. When using the form 2 resin printer at university we had a box that was clad with silver foil inside with uv lights inside which you’d pop your prints into to finish curing if it was still kinda sticky. Just bought my elegoo mars but not had a chance to set it up so your video helped give me some much needed insight, especially in regards to risks when hollowing our files in the slicer.
The tank from metal slug looks awesome.
I just purchased an Ender 3 for the first time and am quickly questioning my decision. This is so simple to set up in comparison.
Just ordered one , looks like it's going to be alot of fun
just got one of these bad boys for Christmas. So far I've printed an entire German armored column for Bolt Action (cus I'm a cheap skate) and a Tyranid Hive Tyrant (again - you guessed it - cus I'm a dirty cheapskate).
Warhammer 🤤
SIr, You print -> remove the piece from the platform -> wash the reside resin with alcohol(or whatever chemical you want) -> rinse with water -> THEN remove the support while its malleable -> Finally cure it, thats the way to do it.
This guy is a piece of work....We could not stop laughing at work. Best line : "-The Mars comes from the Red Top here...." LMAO !!!
4:33 - Once, just ONCE in these endless Elegoo Mars reviews would I like to see the reviewer back off those four front panel screws half a turn in order to avoid ripping the LCD protective film.
You and I both.
my friend used a razor blade to cut it on that end, sliced right thru the screen LOL i was like..whyyy would you do that?? i should have known though the first thing he ever printed was a 5 inch penis >.
I just purchased this printer and I'm not sure I understand what your referring to. Is it the 4 screws around the touch screen on the front of the unit?
i would just rip it off the same. i am not excessive compulsive
@@seanc8054 Lollllllll
Hi good review sir. but I just one to check if it consumes a lot of electricity/charges?
i believe the 3d printed "thing" thats white is to put the print bed on the post tilted to allow the excess resin to drip off into the vat below so you dont waste as much resin
yeah just got mine and love it already made a new spindle mount for my cnc
How bad are the fumes? Does the lid keep them inside doing printing?
I have a DLP. It goes up and down not staying on the liquid. What is going on?
Water clean resin is great.
I've seen a video where they remove the supports before UV curing. More messy but maybe easier to break off? Awesome Video! Just got mine today. doing the test print tomorrow:]
Hey mate just hows the printer been for you? Any complaints or issues pop up?
@@87hergo haven't used it in a while. No issues with it though.
bought one need it fing awesome love the potential
The results look very good. THe details would make this one ideaal for modelrailroad building.
also, why, dear god why would you grab it by the z axis post, sweet baby jesus, i flinched so hard cuz i feel like that is not a grab-able part for this machine :O
Amazing 👍👍👍
what do you do with the extra resin that sits inside?
Drink it
That's what I want to know
Could you provide a link for that little tank model?
www.thingiverse.com/thing:3115549
How fo you create your own designs to print with the program?
If you print hollow and the model is enclosed, don’t you end up with uncured resin inside?
yes
Bet fitting a 12v 5 amp linear power supply to it would be good, also. Good video
No filament printer can reach this level of detail. Just a little tweaks to make the resin formula cheaper and more resilient and they can take a much bigger market share.
Have you tried eco plant-based resin? I'm looking for one that's transparent.
@@cortezforever nope
@@cortezforever thats a thing? if so that would be amazing!
HELP! Just got a Elegoo Mars and can’t find any ipa alcohol anywhere to clean the resin tank any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance.😀😀😀
Use Mean Green Cleaner
just saying. for the benchy, the "line" that he mentions at around 26:40, is an error in the model. ive printed 2 benchies at 600% scale and i got the same line at the same spot. and upon closer inspection, the regular 100% scale benchies have it too. (all on FDM printers obviously.)
1.5 mm is enough you just need to add the draining holes.
Awesome video, I just ordered one, any advice on what extra parts I should order? (Spare parts)
i have a problem where it only prints the first few layers then itll contine but when it finishes its the base of the supports or the outline and thats it any suggestions?
can you scan and print with the included software? extreme newbie here so dumb it down please....lol
How do you make your own design ?
With your brain.
Is this a special alcohol youve put them in?
Greets Kai
Regular 100% alcohol works
i cringe every time he picks up the machine by the axis
thank you so mush i could not get it but you shoud me
Ok, so this is a great video....EXCEPT for the safety part.
You should also wear eye protection.
Put on the gloves early....dont' wait until you think you will need them.
If he would have dropped the plate, or anything into the vat, it would have splashed resin everywhere...wear gloves, this stuff will burn your skin, and harm your eyes.
Please don't teach bad habits.
Eye protection sucks. So annoying to keep pushing the glasses up or making them stop squeezing you so hard
nice vid man. helped me, as i just got it through the mail
Hi @Just Vlad have you had any experience with 3d scanning? Would love to see reviews on those products
Thank!
as far as i know the best printing on resin its with supports!!!
what can you do if it is winter and cool and you can not put it in the sun to cure
Print scale human of the diorama?
What so you do with left over resin? Do you need to somehow wash the tub too?
Is it free the app
I am about to buy my first SLA printer. Is this still a good choice? I dont want to get the iPhone 4 the day the iPhone 5 is coming out.
Depends on the size you want. This one is fine for smaller models, or you can wait for the Saturn coming out this fall.
a few tips:
1. please do NOT pull the models off of the printer bed, use the scraper given.
2. do NOT pick it up by the Z axis point
3. you should drop the models into a full container of alcohol and mix them around until clean.
4. you can cure them in direct sunlight if you live in a sunny place, im in Midwestern US and that wouldn't work. so you should really use a UV light for curing.
5. take the supports off BEFORE you cure it. this way they easily are removed and you don't have to torture yourself trying to snap the pieces off.
6. ALWAYS wear gloves, mask and goggles when handling resin. have them on BEFORE you open the container and do not take them off until you are done handling the uncured resin. if it is "fresh off the bed" and you haven't cured it, wear gear. when you are pouring, wear your gear. do not handle uncured models with your bare hands.
5. don't dump uncured resin down the drain. do not use it in a sink that you also use for food, or a bathroom sink. resin is a bio-hazard, even the alcohol/resin mixture that is produced when you clean it.
Loving that shirt tho!
Sir how much time takes to print 1 ring and if 10 ring how much time takes to finish print
Same time
Prints a Metal Slug Tank with a printer named Mars.
Never makes THE JOKE.
what do you do with the leftover resin
ken skiffington eat it
that was not nice I was just wondering if you had to throw it away or what this will be my first resin printer --thanks anyway
It comes with a filter and a cup. Use the filter with the cup and pour the excess resin into it. You could also just pour it back into the og bottle, again with the filter.
I see a lot of UA-camrs writing Elegoo SLA printer and now I'm confused. The Elegoo Mars is an MSLA printer right? About to buy one... today
Yes: SLA: Stereo Lithography Apparatus, which uses a laser. MSLA: Masked Sterelithography Apparatus, which uses a LCD screen and a UV lightsource.
MK3424 I thought it was DLP is DLP a type of MSLA or something
Holy crap, bed leveling is basically automatic x.x
Good review
How can I get files for model cars parts?
My flare is to tight to the screen when I level the paper wont comenout what do I do
Anyone know if the resin for this is cheaper than the filament for a normal 3D printer?
ive read its more expensive than filament
About twice as much as med grade filament.
Thanks for this man. Might just be a customer! I've had such heartache with depositional printers. I hope this is the solution. Pardon the pun. 😆
Its is not the alcohol you need to up your exposure time to 10 or 12 seconds.
Not really: if you put in the right amount of resin, everytime it lifts the print from the bed, it will lift it out of the resin still in the vat.. but if you've used too much resin... it won't let the uncured resin ooze out of it... (Mars user myself)
Don't have to import the EM in the settings?
What scale did you print that at??? For a comparison I've just printed on an fdm printer at 100% .thanks and great video by the way 😀
Your meant to remove the supports before you cure it in UV...
Where did you get the tank file?
www.thingiverse.com/thing:3115549
Isn't it called a bed not a "tub"
just asking does the software that comes with it can you design your own print are will i need to find different software
that software just prepares the model for printing, you will have to use a different software to design the model.
Can you tell how loud the printer is?
The fan in the bottom is a bit annoying.
I think it relatively quiet, but is a subjective thing.
Noise is moderate to low. The smell can be bad though.
I have hear of people swapping out the internal fans with quietter ones and then point a desk fanat the print in front of a window to deal with the fumes.
@@runklestiltskin_2407 I love the noise of the fan
Would warming the whole machine up and the doing the levels be different???.
Just a thought dude.
✌️👌🇦🇺😎
how many tanks can you make(estimate) with the 500g resin in the video? nice review
Cool
what is this music?
Watched many resin printers review and since I've build few cnc machines myself I kind of knew what the issues (at least mechanical) could be expected from Mars. Very important is z-axis itself so first thing I've done is checked if sliding is smooth. It was not. It was so tight that motor could not move the holder all the way through going up. It just gets stuck at the top so I had to apply some force by hand. Then I've readjusted holder with three ball-bearings and now it moves with much less effort. Another problem with Mars is that plate holder, or z-axis screw moves when pushed by hand for about 0.5mm. Problem is Mars's stepper motor and it's inner bearing loaded with spring. For now I will not fix this issue as I've tested z-axis movement with 0.01 meter. Also antibacklash brass nut is not the best one. Real improvement would be if z-axis is replaced with true ballscrew with zero backlash and vertical slider is equipped with two linear sliders. Some people replace this brass nut with 8mm derlin nut. Leveling plate with paper is suggested way but when I've tried left side of the plate is always tighter than the right side. When doing any adjustment of the printer I place thick peace of foam in vat thus eliminating any chance of damaging screen. Printer is otherwise very well built. Most critical parts are anodized aluminum. Moving parts are somehwat lower end solution but good quality ballscrew with supports would cost more than printer itself. So this printer probably cannot produce very accurate models as one could with cnc machine. But again it is a solid machine that can be improved in few relatively simple steps. Not that printer could not be used as is.
My printer is going through the process, but I don’t have a finished product....some random soft chunks left over at the end, nothing printed or stuck to the lift.....any suggestions?
alguien a probado en lugar de meterle resina ,latex?😆
dont work now with new elegoo mars use a card boar 1.5mm to set ZERO is the best way
Toyota FT-1 Concept at 24:58
so how do you cure the models ?
UV light. after you wash the model in alcohol. (or your chemical choice, i think you can also buy water washable resin)
The best way is to buy or create a UV box, that will cure it in a few minutes depending on the size of the model.
I'm going to make a video of reboxing and returning.
You have incredibly well shaped fingernails.
This is more of a torture video on how not to use a 3d printer.
Printer for hire?
at $250 this thing is a goddamn bargain
opsimathics it’s $229 right now had to pull the trigger on one
@@waldo_r3571 Got it for about 160 on prime day.
It sucks for anything that doesn't have thick walls or a thick structure, everything droops.
Use supports
