fantastic explanation, i wonder though. why would you raise the offset it in the first place? if you could list the reasons for doing that it would be great.
Dude, I have been 3D printing for a few years, FDM, but a total noob to resin. THIS IS A GLORIOUS VIDEO!!! I did need to see the whole process, start-to-finish! Perfect! Not too slow, just good, helpful tips and a great presentation of everything I needed!
That's a possibility, but it's just a test print. The small chance of somehow messing up the print is worth it when the other option is waiting 2 hours to find out it didn't stick to the plate.
Great video. Answered a lot of my questions. Really appreciate the casual presentation and not going to deep into the intricacies associated with resin printing. Thank you.
I would love if they moved z endstop to top of chanel for increased chance of print resume... and preasure sensitive glass plate for z cuttoff above certain preasures
Great video, I just purchased that printer and I followed your steps but when it was done printing it only printed one not two..but the printer screen showed two..did I miss a step? Thanks for any feed back.
Hi, I just bought the elegoo saturn 2 Resin printer (I'm new to resin printing). I wanted to print the test file of the two towers (In the usb key) When I was looking and browsing the files of the usb key provided with the printer I saw a file named: SATURN 2 Machine parameters20220831 in g-code extension. Believing that it was a parameter to install to adjust the printer, I runed it and then it says that the printing was done (the printer didn't moved) After that I printed the two towers and everything went well and the towers quality is very good. Did you manage to read the file content and if yes do you know what it does to the printer. I also opened it into a text editor and I don't understand nothing. Thank you for your return
If you ever have a failed print just do a test exposure for like 20 seconds with some old supports sitting in the vat. Whole thing just peels off along with the failed bits.
Great video looking for my first resin printer… question did you spend all the resin bottle with all does prints? If not how much was left? Want to have a idea of how much resin is spent in one bottle
I got this printer but when I turn it on the fan doesn’t automatically start. I don’t know if it’ll start if a print starts, but during the leveling and such I don’t hear the fan at all
Same here. Contacted customer support but because of the new year they won't even get back to me for like 2 weeks. I basically own a 30 pound paperweight since this thing's useless
Same happened for me, got scared and stopped the print to clean the vat, did 3 tries after and none stuck. Did you get it figured out? This is driving me mad...
I have this printer excellent product, I have to say though that their (Elegoo) customer service is pretty bad, My printer arrived with what I had originally thought was a light scratch on the protective screen (tempered glass) it was actually a crack which cracked after a couple of prints, I purchased a replacement protective screen well over a month ago it has yet to this day not been shipped despite me contacting them several times, Looks like I will probably be looking at another company for my next printer
I somehow ended up with FDM (ender 3 v2 neo), and this RESIN printer (saturn 2 8k). This is my 1st time ever touching a 3d printer so I was a little confused but after researching a little on both type of printer I think I got a little grip on it. The 1st impression for ender 3 v2 neo was somewhat funny. The ender looked cute. Very small and compact. I had no idea just how small the ender was, especially compared to saturn 2. Night and day difference. The quality and build was also night and day difference. The ender looks fragile and I am certain I can probably rip it into different pieces if I wanted to. The saturn 2 however looks thick and the quality difference compared to ender is also night and day. If you don't need super hard prints then it's no brainer, ender has very cheap hard filment. If you are not worried about durability then 120% resin.
Could you please tell me, where I can find the stl for the neuron like Model you printed? Unfortunately I‘m not able to find it online 😬 Would really appreciate it 😊 And thanks for the good video 👌🏼
I’ve literally followed every step and mine will not print anything. It goes does into the resin and after hours there is nothing on the tray. Anyone have any suggestions?
I just got this saturn 2 printer and started following your setup to make sure i did it right. However, when i turn mine on, the screen comes on but no fans?? Do you have any advice? Is this faulty should i send it back? Please help :(
hello I just bought my saturn 2 a few days ago and set it up and after the first test print of the chess piece i realized that the fans weren't making any noise at all. what do i do about this? is there any way for me to trouble shoot this or do i have to get an entire replacment
Does anybody know why my 3d printer isn’t printing. I followed all the steps on here. I’m trying to print a test piece (the rook shown in the video and the one given with the usb) everything seems ok. But when I press pause about 50% of the way through nothing is on the plate.
Great review, But in my case after having this resin printer for awhile. I will be selling it and the Mercury XS Bundle of the wash & cure units, Because that although the resin models been great and such, I have a problem with the elephant in the room problem No One online points out about the resin waste water from washing the models! That is, unless you live in a always hot sunny place, you will not be able to set and remove the suspended waste resin left in the washing water due to lack of sunlight where I live? I live in good old UK which is often over cloudy even in the summer and because I don't have hot sun all the time I can't cure the resin out of the waste water since I use water washable resin I need to wash in water and now have got stored 14 liters of the waste resin water That I can't set or off course just throw away down a drain or toilet. Someone said just buy a super strong UV lamp and zap the waste water to set the resin in it? But I found that to buy a UV lamp that is big enough and has the right power will cost a few Hundred pounds to get. So that is not a option sadly! So I am left with having to sell the system since I can't just keep storing the waste resin filled water. Oh and saying well do the IPA version will also not be a option, IPA here has shot up in price big time and I would need at least 7 liters a time to fill up the washing unit tub, that be too pricey. And no hot sun most of the year to help deal with the setting out of the resin, I could not just let it elevaperate away due to the IPA being so pricey anyway. I also seen that disposing of this type of resin waste water here needs to have a special company deal with it which is very expensive and hard to find locally and I don't have a car. Taking this stuff on public transport would be a legal problem due to it leaking out the containers I got it stored in. ( one 10 liter snap on lid plastic container & a few old plastic milk containers ) So I sadly will have to sell the whole system I saved up for. Then still will have to find out how to get a service come and remove and dispose it safely under UK toxic laws? So if you wish to buy this in the non always hot year around sunny countries like the UK, I would say don't as you be in the same trouble I am. And yes I did indeed research and watch tons about resin printing before I brought it? But no one said anything about the resin waste water setting problem if your not in a hot sunny country? All of them just said it is easy to set the resin out.
He did not for the tower. Which is why he ended up with some pieces in the bottom of his tank. Which is not good, because it could perforate the tanks plastic base. I would always use supports for any areas of unsupported material. Otherwise it will just print and attach to the bottom of your tank and cause issues and potentially damage the tank and/or printer screen.

Completely agree as I've got the same background.
*WARNING* hitting the pause button could mess your print up. From experience and online agreement
That's a possibility, but it's just a test print. The small chance of somehow messing up the print is worth it when the other option is waiting 2 hours to find out it didn't stick to the plate.
i love how fast and the tone you use not too fast not too slow not too exicited and not too flat . keep it up man ! :)
i just got this printer from my brothers today as a christmas present. this is so much more helpful then them. thank you!

Great video. Answered a lot of my questions. Really appreciate the casual presentation and not going to deep into the intricacies associated with resin printing. Thank you.

This video got me up and running thank you
I just got one of these printers. And this video is incredibly helpful. Awesome job Vlad.
I would love if they moved z endstop to top of chanel for increased chance of print resume... and preasure sensitive glass plate for z cuttoff above certain preasures
Great introductory video. Super helpful. Thanks!
Yes I will be buying this soon. Had bad experience with fdm. This leveling process is much more user freindly.
Great video,
I just purchased that printer and I followed your steps but when it was done printing it only printed one not two..but the printer screen showed two..did I miss a step?
Thanks for any feed back.
Thank you for this video! Well done, shows just what we need to get started and more! Awesome job :)
I lost the leveling paper while I was moving, do you know if I should just double up two printer papers?

Why do you level the bed with the screen protector removed??
is this the one that has the exhaust in the cover to add a 4" vent?
This was a great video! Very informative!
Great video looking for my first resin printer… question did you spend all the resin bottle with all does prints? If not how much was left? Want to have a idea of how much resin is spent in one bottle
W mans for buying a new printer just for us
Can the JP version be switched to English, or not? There's a brand new one on sale for $150 but it's JP and not US.
Just want to know where can i get the Teddy Bear File?
I got this printer but when I turn it on the fan doesn’t automatically start. I don’t know if it’ll start if a print starts, but during the leveling and such I don’t hear the fan at all

Did a test print, one rook stuck and the other didn’t 😢
Same happened for me, got scared and stopped the print to clean the vat, did 3 tries after and none stuck. Did you get it figured out? This is driving me mad...
Just curious… how do you pronounce the word “book”? Rook is supposed to rhyme with it.
not sure to go for this or pay like £7 extra for a Saturn 3 for my first 3d printer.

I just got this saturn 2 printer and started following your setup to make sure i did it right. However, when i turn mine on, the screen comes on but no fans?? Do you have any advice? Is this faulty should i send it back? Please help :(
They fixed it in firmware update - Fans only work while printing ;) so no unnecessary noise while idle
@@almostpaintedwhat about the mini air purifier? Mine does not turn on the lights nor the fans, I haven’t tried to print something just in case
Thanks for the video. That help me a lot and make the process easier 🎉

I’m having the same issue, did you figure it out??
Yes the plate wasn’t getting enough exposure time for the bottom of the build to stick to the plate
Thanks for this video im going to get mine up tomorrow
Great video
You provided the best information!!! Thanks
Great video! ❤
The whole resin thing has me thinking I'm gonna die immediately on contact
