The "Pz V/IV" indeed couldn't turn its turret, and it was not a real tank, nor even an assault gun. From what I could find, it was a bergepanther (recovery vehicle), that got turned into a command tank with a mock-ish turret. Not a true dummy turret since the gun seemingly was the real deal, but useless since all internal components were removed to make space for the command team. The name "Pz V/IV" itself was made up for World of Tanks. It appears in unit reports as "Bef.-Panther mit Pz.IV-Turm" (command Panther with Panzer IV turret)
yeah agree, i would even add before the start of the game. I think that you first picked 4CAN and Onord did a great counterpick, but the matchup wasn't impossible for u. But it became impossible with your (my assumption) income counter pick. Vanguard is not adapted for 4CAN and Slutsk East is a balanced map. Also you had the bad side of slutsk east, it is very difficult to win from your side at high level. Did you first pick ?
@@colonelkoenig42birhakeim42 I picked second but yeah, it was a bad pick. I went van because I had won the first game with it and wanted to put him under pressure quickly. But again, not a great pick. Idk why when I thought about the map, I only thought about getting the other side.
@ Oh interesting thank you for the accurate answer. Yeah it happens sometimes to imagine the map with only one side the one which we prefer. But the best thing is that we do this mistake only one time and after we think about both sides each time.
After so much time not watching SD2, seeing a Onord vs Mimile drop out got me very hyped, and oh boy it didn't fail to meet expectations! What a game! Onord is such a master of making things that should not work work as a charm! Against a very good player in Mimile! What a game! Thank you for the cast
9:20 Lol, ouch. It 's cool that the game doesn't turn off weapons for retreating aircraft; it helps sell that these are actual units that would reasonably blaze away if someone crossed their gunsight. One man's cool moment is another man's torture, of course. I'm reminded of an incident where my own Flak 41 shot at a Typhoon divebombing it, missed, and nailed my fighter that was diving after the Typhoon and would've probably saved the Flak. I almost ragequit, but hindsight has me appreciating that the game allows such things to happen.
The Bef Tiger P was made by Porsche. He was so confident that we would win the Tiger bid that he made about 100 chassis. He lost the bid and since the chassis’s were already build and steel was high value, they made the Ferdinand with them. They were later recalled due to poor engine performance and a lack of a machine gun. The new update version was renamed to the Elefant.
@Aros_DK largely true, but not quite. Porsche wasn't just so overconfident that he would win. Initially *both* designs got approved and so he started production, only for German command to change their mind and unselect his design. Similarly, although Ferdinands were recalled for an upgrade package (bow gun and cupola being the notable additions), and then later renamed to Elefant - these were unrelated events. Ferdinands even fought for a couple months on the front lines post-upgrade still under the name Ferdinand. The German army considered them the same vehicle, just upgraded. And then later the same vehicle, just renamed. Similar to other name changes such as "Tiger H1" to "Tiger E" or "Hornisse" to "Naßorn"
Ouch, 4th can is very strong but this is one of the maps heavytank divs can compete on. It is also one of the least balanced yet commonly played maps. Mimile had it rough playing his side agaisnt a div with stronger 2k. That offmap really showing how locked in that side is on one spot or lose in general. GGs
@jaapaasa that was the only thing I could think of too, if an enemy plane goes into LOS of a retreating plane maybe it can still fire, the chances of that happening though must be so incredibly miniscule
Things like turrets fire while falling back, so probably the same for front weapons (just that while retreasting you don't usually align with enemy planes), then the shot is at really close distance, so it is x4 20mm with max acc vs a weak resilience plane
@@jaapaasa Yeah but it wasn't exactly a burst, 4x 20mm is a strong setup but it still takes a long burst to kill stuff. Up there this 109 didn't even take a burst, it didn't even have the suppression bar light up like it should, just exploded instantly basically. And that is crazy, either some crit that didn't show up or maybe replay bug? At first I thought that maybe 109 took damage on that previous head-on and then was finished off on that fly-by, where 0.1s burst was enough. But no, 109 actually didn't take any damage on that head-on, the Mosquito didn't lock on. So that is very weird
Would like to know how you choose the games you will cast ? I know that players tell you that a game would be cool to cast as I do often. But when you don't have suggestions how you find the good games. I assume that you watch the game duration, the matchup of div or players. But it will be cool to heard some words on the backstage of the cast. :)
The first and most important criteria is time. 30iish or more minutes is a necessity. If a game took less time than that it’s usually one sided. After that it’s the players involved. If I see a strong player in a match that met that time criteria than both players must have been at least capable. After that is the match up and map, although these are not very important. If I’ve cast a division several times and have other games to choose I may
@simonnovak6832 my assumption would be he picked first, and then when he saw what he was up against realised he couldn't do feth all to that superheavy armour, so he picked Vanguard to hopefully pressure him so hard he'd win early before the superheavy armour could ever appear?
I won the first game with vanguard so I wanted to do the same here. Strike early and not let him recover. But my early strike was destroyed by the offmap.
@@mimile4462 yeah makes sense That offmap definitely brutalised you. The way it landed basically every shell on a fresh blob of units in turn was just plain rude lmao
@@kirotheavenger60 i played similar match up and you just Gotta ignore the Armor, go to forest And city And use your better infantry with Recon Shermans.
@@mimile4462 1. VANGUARD doesnt work on this map and especially with this div. 2. Just ignore the elephants and use your amazing Arty to kill it, and dominate in city/forest with your superiour infantry/Recon Shermans. I feel like this was a very one sided divisional match for this map All of those Elefants and Befel Tigers were just brick walls that Mimile had no answer to. Mimile just got rolled back
My plan was to push the hill. If I could trade decentely, elefants wouldn't have been an issue because of how expensive they are and I could deal with the tiger P with firefies/17pdr at close range + air. But the offmap killed my dreams 1 min after the start of the game.
That off-map gave me PTSD of old SD2, when you sometimes just got off-mapped to death. It was perfectly placed, but also absurdly lucky, particularly the two infantry squads getting direct hit twice while on the edge of the circle.
Is it ever worth taking 2 commander cards? If you were to do it then 20th Panzer Grenadier would be the deck to do it right? Use your Tiger P as a frontline combat unit and have an infantry commander as your actual veterancy buff for leaders in the back away from danger.
It's not like it's an error that will lose you a game but it's just not exactly worth it when you can use the card for something else that's giving you much more value. In this division you need stuff to support your infantry because you lack numbers already, taking two commanders is just too redundant. Tiger P is survivable enough to use it as frontline support (as it's close to impenetrable to most weapons) and still retain it as commander, player here did it perfectly, just like it should be. Have it provide 2k support, be a steel wall to medium AT guns and tanks, just keep distance from heavy AT and you're golden. If it gets low on HP from arty barrages and airstrikes just pull it back and use it as normal commander, hidden somewhere out of sight and just provide command net
@@czwarty7878 I knew they lacked numbers of infantry but i just checked and the slot costs around the board are brutal for 20th Pzgren. You are fully right.
Great game! Those Elefants didn't pay for themselves in kills but that's to be expected, a good player will not be sending tanks to certain death like that. But the mere fact they were called in locked up entire areas of map and that was a strategic gain worth more than these 240 points

What the hell was that plane dying? The mosquito was retreating?
Never seen that before. I guess retreating planes can fire their front weapons. Mosquito has four 20mm so insanely short burst was enough.

Evacuating mosquito killing full health bf109? it must have been side shot from turrent or something. Insane.
