I agree with the others, I never remember much more than the basics about the divisions ("hey, that one has a lot of tanks, and that one is great for artillery-spam"), this was both impressive and a good intro. I know you're going to disagree with me on this, but please hear me out. Please play first and add comments afterwards. I'd rather see your focus be 100% in the play rather than bring nice comments at the same time.
Yeah, that seemed like a 'beating up noobs in quickplay'-brained move. Against an evenly-matched opponent using a standard Commonwealth deck, they're not going to take a straight infantry fight in that bit of the map: they're either going to to forfeit that flag and push somewhere else or they're going to bring some kind of fire support so they can contest it without getting ruined by the infantry mismatch. Bringing three 50mm mortars was a pretty funny solution to that problem though.
In the WA meta, on one of the best map for WA, you picked one of the worst div against WA. Strong inf is not how you counter 50 cal, stuarts, M10 and cromwells. All those things counter strong inf. The fighter bomber would have won you the right. You should always have some bomber available. Pumas are overpriced. If you want them to do something, you should double vet them. Orsha East is a vanguard map. If you can push early, it is very hard for your opponent to retake ground. Hope you do better in your next games.
Great comment. Picking Orsha East with intention to play balanced is very risky, unless there's a significant skill difference. Based on ATK's usual div roster, I'm still unsure what he should have gone for instead though.
Would 5th cav (Romanian) with all the 30 point AT guns at the start not have been a better pick? Just to help get rid of half tracks. It might have been banned though
1) Live recording while playing means you're not at 100% 2) From wathcing you play your transports get sniped a lot. You have to make them come in different routes and or undeploy them sooner 3) In this match you were putting your armour in positions where they would easily get PIAT'd. The loss of the Panzer4J in the centre of the town is a prime example.
I liked the new intro with you talking about how you built your deck. Normally I skip this step but when its building to counter a certain div it becomes more interesting in how the choices are made in building. Then outside of the ban/pick phase I think you had 2 main points that caused the game to snowball out of control. 1st Your tunnelvision was quite bad this game. Example being the stug backing away from 17pounder but not enough so 17 got so many shots on it. But you lost a lot of stuff due to tunneling. 2nd. With the build you have you have 1 counter to the 2inch mortar in the start which is mortar HT as you didnt get air. This could have saved the flank potentially but you sent it in the middle. In the middle you only had 2 inf squads so you werent going to do much with the mortar there anyway while on the flank it could help against 2inch that didnt move after firing and all stood clumped together. If your first call in was this after seeing 2inch you still could have saved the flank.
I sympathise with any attempted application of logic. This disaster, though, had two parents: A. Not utilising the 1 SS panthers: The grenadiers are there to support the armour, not the other way round, and; B: Not having a deeply echeloned line.., a weakness of basically every player who loses a match, and a factor partly related to the absence of 2k overwatch the panthers could have provided.. Kudos for your magnanimity !
@@lepathewarrior4445 wrong; the entire right flankand much of the left can be overwatched and the brow of the main centre hill covered off in rear slope defence
hello atkpwr, are you going to cover most recent balance changes? especially what they did to the Hermann Goering because i feel like the division i already liked has just gotten a great buff (the walkure should've never been 20 points, stuka got resilience buff, spw 222, pz4, sturm grens, pz3, 20mil's price buff and new card picture for jagdpanzer 4)
marginally wrong with the fighter v Typhoon - once on the tail and in range (approx. 800m) the following fighter keeps up with the Typhoon. As long as the fighter is out then it has a chance to catch the Typhoon on the turn., It is down to luck though.
I share your frustration about commonwealth, but 1st SS is not a good pick against Rats. They simply don't have enough tools to deal with light armor. Panzer Lehr would have been a much better pick - if you have not banned it yourself :)
Play first and commentate afterwards! We'd rather see you playing at your best, and tbh your after-battle commentating is more exciting. It's a win win
As a player who would not be able to counterpick or ban anything because I don't know all the divisions, your intro is very, very helpful!
That 2-in mortar opener was brutal.
"Surely I will dominate the forest fight, we have MP44s and shit"
"..."
"Mein Fuhrer..."
'...der Angriff Steiners ist nicht erfolgt.'

Make MP44's great again!!
*Laughs in Montgomery*
great to see your games, even if this was a shorter one. Good luck to the next ones.
i like the way you did this video a lot. keep it coming atkpwr!
I feel Pumas were a really bad counter to Cromwells
Similar price but the Cromwells oneshot the Pumas
Specially in more cramped maps, where the closer range provides Cromwells with accuracy scaling, negating the pumas advantage in accuracy
Oh wow. That was brutal! Keep up... I got also destroyed in my first game... That's league 😅 things just can go better now, I suppose😅
I really appreciate you having the balls to do the live casts - keep them coming pls - that dude was just lucky lol

with the deck built the way it was the mortar HT was his one out against the 2inchers. But it went center instead of flank and was late.

Really liked the intro
I liked the new intro!
Enjoyed the watch! Thank you!
you counterpicked yourself. Rats hard counters 1st SS, should have picked something with lots of cheap AT
Congratulations...
What would be the pick tho? GD?

Playing Balanced on Orsha East is bold. Playing it passively into Maverick is insane.
at 18.40, what will happen with light armor in the new patch?

Panthers help very little on this map, you don't get many long sightlines anywhere.

Very impressive performance by green. The Volkssturm did not really help as firefighters.
Reminds me of my game against Stahlbrecher
@tedarcher9120 And me of (I think it was) monthly open against Farid. But also some other games. Being on the receiving end that is ;)
Would like to know the name of the map when you do this. Thank you I like the format

@@tetchedink7980 All infantry comes with shreks (!), panzer 3s, solid light armor of your own (recon pumas, SDKFZs).
