WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS FRIGGIN KILLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And as much as I think Joe Satriani is beyond amazing,I am also a HUGE Doobie Brothers fan and Tom Johnston is an amazing guitarist in his own right!!!!!! That plus Sammy is just THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH THIS ROCKS!!!!!!!
I was there for this concert. I bought the "expensive" tickets to sit on stage and watch the bands from the left side of the stage (as seen in this video). Bruce Cohn put these benefits concerts on for over 10 years and I went to every one. It was, without a doubt, the most beautiful venue for a 9 hour concert (it stated at 11 and ended at 8pm most times).
Shoulda let the Bass Player sing too!!.......He is a bad boy sho nuff!!......Sammy is a bad boy too, hell, everybody on stage come to think of it!!....lol
Great sound! Sadly, I recently went to a Jethro Tull concert and Ian Anderson's voice is absolutely gone. Flute was working well, but not his voice. Admittedly, these guys are about 10 years younger than Anderson, also. My very first concert was at the San Diego Sports Arena w/ Eddie Money and the Doobie Brothers opening for Lynyrd Skynyrd, in '78. Amazing concert! Edit: Seems I messed up my years, as they were dead by '78. Too much pot induced memory fog, I guess. Peace, out.
Ian Anderson has a disease which i can't remember the name of that affects his singing. I saw him talking about it in a video. It's too bad because Jethro Tull is one of my favorite bands.
Relax, of course he's going to do that, it's a one shot deal. Doesn't take anything away from the Doobs, they wouldn't have allowed it if they had a problem with it. Plus it's a cover song anyways.
Sorry to say that the Doobie Brothers are again a backing band for another singer here. But this lead singer is 1,000% better than that McDonald ever will be.
@@KBB4eva I have seen the Doobie Brothers 4 times and all without McDonald. Tom Johnston has a good voice. McDonald has more of a Soulful voice. McDonald doing background with Steely Dan is well suited.
@@garyoconnordbaairrepair7775 I’ve seen the with Tom and he does have a good voice . More Rock n Soul. I’ve know tue since they began almost. I’m fro San Jose . They can all sing well , but Mike is in another category. I’m a singer and singing his tunes with his breathing Is hard . Notice how he’s a but behind the phrase in his singing now ? He got better as the tour went by its hard to do what he does in full voice singing high .
poor doobies! hagar is completely overshadowing them, he barely acknowledges tom johnston and doesnt give any attention to pat simmons or john mcfee! :(
How ignorant and what a dumb statement. Sammy was a guest of the Doobie Brothers the B.R. Cohn Charity concert. The Doobie Brothers sang plenty of songs and Tommy is always featured. He doesn't need anybody to give him attention, he's been an icon since 1971.
Saw Sammy last month with George Thorogood and it was a stellar show. Going to Doobie Bros next week.
This is so great! I never thought this combination of Sammy and the Doobies would work but I was wrong!! This performance is stellar!!
ROCK & ROLL hall of fame y'all for the Doobie Brothers!
Sammy is in his mid 60's and he sings better than ever. Great guy too.

Bill Komlos ......I just found this and couldn't agree more. This is pure awesome. Peace out
What better way, what better people and place to capture the joy of being alive, peace through music?
Lot of major talent on that stage!!
Sammys still got the pipes!!! Cool jam!
usually by their 40's if you have a set of pipes like the red rocker they are used up, but he keeps wailing the same as 40 years ago, amazing

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!
I see Carlos Reyes on the violin. Saw him way back in the 70's with a band called Merlin in the North Bay (CA).
Great party! And what a line-up!
OMG! I wanted to go to this!
The man on the bass has the best voice on the stage! TRUST ME!
Bass player John Cowan maybe had the best voice 20 years ago..
I don't trust you! Sammy is a far superior singer, please!
Cowan can't be compared to Hagar: totally different styles, but John Cowan has the superior voice....
I like the Dobby Brothers So ng. Just alright with Me
Me too, cheat the hangman is another wonderful song by the Doob's !
Sammy sounds great wow !!!

Dynamite performance. Cheers
Those damned old pipes sure can sing.
Come on July 18th!!
Sammy sings like he is 30 yrs old still...
What Fun
Omg! Where the heck was this? That's like epic bucket list quality event!

Sammy = adrenaline shot!

Better check that year,,,,,,there was no lynyrd in 1978
@@timothyward8564 Good eye. I stand corrected. Been a while, memories have faded, dates confused. Still a great concert. Thanks again.

Wow??!?
Joe the "MAESTRO" SATRIANI
Anhaal George//Norwegen Wood
Нет слов, класс!!!!!
Bad As# R.I.P. Beck Jeff 😆
Blaze 1 🚬
the jeff beck group song 'goin' down'
The song was written by Don Nix , first covered by Moloch and Freddie King had a hit with it ,many artist have covered the song Jeff Beck being one !
What an odd combination; especially Joe Satriani? But it works!
looks like Sammy's puttin' on the pounds... but man he can sing..
AND TO THINK, SAMMY HAGAR WAS IN VAN HALEN :)
Read that the average man gains a pound a year during his lifetime.
Foot & 🍗

Sound man turn Joe up a bit/ come on sound.manFM
Wabo mas Tequila & a Doobie ha
Who's idea was that? Time for a piss break..

Never . Tommy is a screamer . Michael is a singer

Love this BUT and its only one 'but' but its a biggy IMHO Satriani is overplaying. You dont have to shred every single time you play in every song
this is seriously my worst nightmare.
