    I ended up selling this motorcycle a little over a year ago with 20,000 miles (still no value adjustment). The next owner proceeded to tear the engine down thinking the bike needed a rebuild, and came to find out everything was fine. This is a true testament to Yamaha reliability. If you're considering a WR, I highly recommend one. I wish I never sold it.

    I got my 2012 WR450 to 16k miles before I rebuilt the motor. Like you said check valves every now and then (unless you absolutely rip it off road only it’s entire life) oil change every 1-2k miles (for me at least), 500 miles if off road/banging off the limiter, & chains, tires and brake pads occasionally. Also don’t forget to clean the air filter if you ride off road a lot. If only on street then you can get away with putting that off for a bit between changing/cleaning it. Absolute tank of a bike and would make a great first bike in my opinion. I started on it and never looked back. Bout to buy a new one this year. Hope if you’re on the fence that you get off your butt and grab one!

    I noticed you dont clutch in when shifting. Do you have an auto clutch kit installed?

    Do you find your wr to have more engine noise when the oil has 8-10 hours on it? Mine gets a bitter chattery around that time.

      Not at all. Mine still runs like a champ with almost 19k miles strong 💪

    Does WR450f need to rebuild Top End engine Like Suppercross bike when they run out of hours? (I don’t know you can understand my question, sorry my english is not good)
    Thanks

      @@EyesOnTheEast From my experience, not at all. This bike had almost 20,000 miles of hard street riding on the original top end with no value adjustment (checked the valves 3 times). Typically Enduro bike engines are significantly "de-tuned" compared to the race bike variant

    What size rear tire?
    My 2012 had a 150 with a 5inch rim, love the look of the Supermoto 🔥 but feels too heavy for swerving
    Currently on skinny’s again 😭

    • @akidnamedsage
      @akidnamedsage  2 роки тому

      150/17 is the tire size. Swerving is my absolute favorite thing to do ❤

    Yammy WR450F:s are THE best 450s there are for supermotos. I have a 2006 and no problems what so ever

    I'm thinking of buying one. Their are 3 really nice, one 2013, 2018, and 2020 and Idk wich one to get jaja... I haven't heard any problem for any generation just the 2012/15 that their electric starter gets bad. From 2016 and up not seen anything

    • @akidnamedsage
      @akidnamedsage  3 роки тому +1

      I would highly recommend one! in terms of overall reliability you can't go wrong with any of those years. My 2015 has had starter issues since day one lol, i've grown used to it haha. You pretty much have to slightly blip the trottle while pressing the start button and it starts every time, it's sort of like a magic touch thing. besides that, it's been damn near perfect for a legitimate street dirt bike

    • @F80mthree
      @F80mthree 2 роки тому

      They all have electric start issues. Comes and goes. I put 20k miles on my 2012. Some months it would give me issues. Some months it wouldn’t. Kick start always works so you’ll be fine. Grab one. You’ll love it.

    It’s there much vibration? And buzz to it?

    • @akidnamedsage
      @akidnamedsage  2 роки тому

      For a dirt bike that is ridden on the street it does vibrate, but not that much. My friends KTM 450 EXC supermoto vibrates far less than my WR. I would even go as far as saying that the ktm feels more like a motorcycle rather than a dirt bike on the street

    Man that's nice I picked up a 22 fe501s hopefully she's good to me like that one has been to you. I just started to wheelie 2 weeks after I got it. Just having a hard time going left and right controlling where the wheelie goes I keep going right most of the time 😂

      It takes time to get good at. Its very much a feel thing just keep practicing, the trick is to drag and modulate the rear brake and not chase the wheelie. Anyone can get it as long as they put in the seat time and stay persistant

    • @JonathanRodriguez-vy8ig
      @JonathanRodriguez-vy8ig 3 роки тому

      Oh I can drag the brake and ride the wheelie lol. Just having a hard time directing the wheelie. But I am putting the seat time and going to continue too. Keep up the content man!
