Everything you said was valid, except the part about gloves. Those thick cushiony gloves you recommended would protect someone who is falling from scraping his hands and losing some skin. But, losing skin is the least of your worries. When you fall, you tend to catch your weight on your hands, snapping your wrist bones as you hit your hands on the pavement. Instead,, wear gloves that have a metallic or composite palm and wrist braces. These are commonly used by skateboarders. When you fall, these gloves will not only prevent any scrapes, but also will save your wrists from snapping on impact.
This is a great point. I upgraded my motorcycle/scooter gloves after my last crash where I broke my wrist. Low traction on the palms is key! -Paul

I'd definitely add side mirrors to this list. Might look corny, but you can see what's coming up behind you on each side. Plus, they're extremely inexpensive.

I’ve been racing motorcycles and mountain bikes for over 30 years. One technical note about gloves, thick leather (work glove thickness) is your best friend in a crash. Controlling the fall is just as important as the gear you are wearing and gloves are what allow you to do it. Under ~10mph fabric or neoprene are better than nothing but above 10mph when you hit the ground you will slide. If your gloves grip the ground instead of sliding you will face-plant. Sliding spread out (pancaking) on your hands and stomach and toes will keep your head from hitting the ground or body tumbling which breaks limbs. The amount of times I’ve been saved by leather gloves far exceeds (~20:1) the number of times my helmet has ever contacted the ground. Take care
Leather gloves even during hot and humid summer days?? If there is something other than leather that's good for summer heat, could you recommend something else?
@@jessa.3857 you could try and find leather gloves with a lighter material for the back of your hands, though I don't know of any myself, and your hands being a little warm outweighs the discomfort of not wearing it at all.
Its like arguing that a motorcycle jacket is too warm then going for a slide without it
I drive a school bus in a town with lots of bikes and scooters. The reflective vest or jacket in yellow/green (not orange) is a big plus for visibility. In the day time the vest is way more visible than the lights. At night I may see the lights sooner but once my headlights pick up the vest its what jumps out more than a light.

I use LEDs lights and RBG lights on my Scooter. Digital light up face dust mask. Florescent Helmet.

I would add backpack and inside the backpack I would add allen wrenches

In the backpack: allen wrenches, fix-a-flat (he calls it slime in this video), Kryptonite bike lock, first aid kit (with big bandages for cuts you will get from falling) flash light, a folding knife (because it's never a bad thing to have a knife with you) and a compact space blanket (in case you are stranded and have to wait for help in the cold). If you plan to ride in secluded places like state parks and such, also carry mace or bear spray, for predators which may come after you on 2 feet or 4. (Remember, you are riding on something costing between $500 and $3,000 that someone else can easily take from you, in the middle of nowhere if you are alone) When riding, be at least as situationally aware as you would be if you're out taking a walk by yourself. You have something very valuable with you so you have to think of yourself as a potential target.
My other accessory ... and bear in mind most scooters are a dark color .. i have used flourescent reflective yellow tape on the stem and below the deck on the side flanks to offer even more visibility to oncoming traffic at night.
Great info just got my first scooter 😊. I have most of the items. Now I'll be purchasing a few more. And remember there's a time and place to test the limits and speed of your scooters. But it's not all the time and every place 🤨. Translation don't be speed demons all the time. The laws and rule's are very new. Especially in NY. Be cool and be safe.

Also regarding light: Make sure to recommend not just a very bright light, but one made for the street with a cut-off beam that does not blend oncoming cars!
PatrickRiccardo cars and riders, I’ve gone down the trail many times where oncoming bikers have the equivalent to high beams and I literally would not be able to see them behind the light or even the road ahead of me through the glare
No need to spend money on powerful horn. Simply I use my fart for that purpose.
Very helpful video !! Thank you very much !! I have a seat so I find a mirror very helpful in traffic . Gloves and helmet are a must as well as the vest for night riding . My bell comes in handy also . You can buy a pair of mirrors fairly cheap . I only mounted one . I don't think it will fair well if / when I crash or if the scooter accidentally gets knocked over .

Not sure if you still need this info. Check out the Homevative food delivery backpack from Amazon. I used to carry groceries with a regular backpack & I had problems fitting things in there. I started to do food delivery on escooters so I got one of these backpacks. I use it for groceries as well & I find that it's super good!!!

Could you do a segment on carrying accessories like shoulder straps, bags in which to carry the scooter, and so on It seems like a quality shoulder strap would help for people who need to carry up a few flights of stairs and want a scooter like the Zero 8 or Zero 9. Thanks for the super informative channel!
I got an old u-lock bracket and MacGyvered it to hold a nifty LED torch - superglued/ziptied it to the stem (beside the high-mounted inbuilt LED light) - presto! Same angle/intensity with zero battery drain. Plus two flashing red LED jobbies (in silicon housings) at the rear. And a proper red bike light attached to my reflective belt. Result!

I use the AfterShokz air daily. It allowed me to listen to music/directions while I ride but keeps my ears free to listen to traffic.
My daughter introduced me to these - they work really well even if you wear hearing aids

What kind of phone holder would you recommend for a 6.8" screen. For a LG Stylo 6?
This list is very helpful however when it comes to bike locks I'm thinking of getting 2 for additional security front and back but the helmet which is definitely on my list my dilemma is storing the helmet because of its robust size
Chuck is Definitely Right when it comes to wearing Safety Gear. Helmet is a Must.
Great list of everything you need, however as mentioned in other comments you should have included a bell/horn of some type because it’s very important to warn pedestrians and cyclists that you are coming it’s a must have in my opinion !
I looked for a multi function horn - a softer bell like tone for when riding around pedestrians on bike paths, or trails. And a really loud horn for time I’m riding on the road and need to get the attention of 4 wheel drivers

This is an amazing list, yet I have a few things to add and comment on, first things first. One thing I always carry with me no matter if on foot or on a scooter. Is a FIRST AID KIT.
As the saying goes, it's not a matter of if an accident happens, but when it happens. And while everyone talks about protectihe gear to minimize damage (which is totally a good thing) we shouldn't leave out the immediate treatment to the damage we take (or someone else we collide with/spot having an accident)
There is a reason first aid kits are mandatory in cars in most countries in the world. And in some Situation, having a bandage on the spot can be what saves your life. I always carry a first aid bag in my backpack while scooting but a little first aid pouch that has the bare necessities such as band aid, a few bandages, and some alcohol wipes to prevent wound infection should do the trick. One could then purchase a scooter bag that you attach to the stem of your scooter to store it.
Maybe even attending a first aid course could generally help you be better prepared, not only for accidents while scooting.
That aside I'm glad someone also mentioned safety VESTS for once.
As for the Pump extender and the light, I'm glad to report the NIU KQi3 Sport comes with both included out of the box. I don't know if the KQi2 Pro also gets a pump extender.
For the locks I recommend avoiding master lock as a brand because nearly every product of them is flawed. Use ABUS or Kryptonite if you can.
Lastly, if you're in the European Union a scooter can't be faster than 15.5mph. if it is, you'd need to own a license, insure it and Register it at the DMV of whatever country you're in.
So assuming this, I recommend all my European fellows to buy a bicycle helmet with an integrated light! That way you stay protedged while nor sacrificing too much comfort!

Do u recommend slim in tubeless tyres on scooter
Wonderful video... I'm slowly adding my gear to my list of essential requirements for riding my escooter... The biggest and most expensive is the helmet but after watching hours on end of what helmet is suitable for my scooter (25 mph top speed) I've narrowed down my search.. a BMX with the chin guard. Only problem is; which one is best for superior protection and comfortability?
A wise idea is to visit the motorcycle shop but I don't want to invest $300.00 on something that's overkill - which will probably be pushed by the store clerk to buy.

Having a smartphone holder is a bad idea for many reasons.
1. It will attract thieves
2. You must focus on the route, a small hole and you're done
3. If you fall the chances of destroying your phone are high (keep it in your pocket)
4. Vibrations (specially if your scooter does not have suspension) might damage your phone sensors

I just go for those cheapo ACE hardware rear lights. Not sure why they have em but they're usually up by the cashiers and they're only like $3 super bright and have easily replaceable batteries. I like the fact that the clip is screwed on which makes it so that I can 3D print a custom clip that I can put on the back of my backpack without worrying about it falling off which is how I lost the last one. In addition I added some underglow on my scooter with some LEDs meant for pc monitors and since they only require 5 volts to run I can use a small battery bank to power them unlike regular led strips that require 12 volts. I had to solder the strips together and with how terrible the adhesive on these strips are I used some clear gorilla mounting tape which holds on incredibly real well to the powder coating on my scooter. I know they sell strips for this on Amazon but I already had the materials on hand so I figured I might as well use them. Also if you wanna be extra you can use El wire to wrap the bar on your scooter or even sew it on to a back pack. I've gotten tons of compliments on group rides for the El wire sling bag I made.

I just got me emove cruiser a week ago, and I'm in Las Vegas where it gets HOT. It's cold out now adays but I'm already thinking tha summer heat and when I have to leave it in my garage or outside at work. Should I worry about this, any tips besides just leaving it at home inside? Lol

I can't believe you actually forgot something important also i have learned to get and it has already paid for itself "motor cross jacket"!!!! i bailed on my wide wheel and had gloves, helmet, jacket walked away with out a scratch and was going around 18 MPH jacket saved my arms and back from what i can only imagine would have been BAD road rash. 100$ on amazon for Duhan jacket and it is still in perfect condition after my bail.

It goes into the inner tube. You remove the valve core, squirt it in there and then re-install the valve core and re-inflate.

Hay Chuck, I have this problem... I want another scooter, but the choices are many. I have a Boosted Rev but in my opinion, it was too much money for what you get. I guess that’s the price one pays for name recognition, eh? This time, instead of losing my mind when a new scooter comes out, I will now do my homework. FYI, the Boosted Rev did not last fifty miles. Just rolling down my driveway the frame broke right where the rear wheel is mounted to the frame. So I called Boosted and nothing. Email, nothing. Then I came across a video on UA-cam showing how they went belly up. So now warranty coverage on my Rev. So sad. They should have stayed with what they were good at, and that was electric boards. Well i dont have a lock yet, so im just driving the scooters in the grocery store, had no problem so far. but i always buy a 6 pack of 7 up so i have an excuse
Do you have to deflate new tires before using the sealant?
Yes. Otherwise you have to work against the air pressure,
and that is not possible most of the time.
It's even better to remove the little screw in valve also.
You speed up the flow, and the valve itself keeps clean.
There are wrenches to remove the valve, and most of the time
they're on the bottle also.

Add elbow and knee protections.
Regarding the lime I'm contrary because it adds weight to the tires and I believe in the long run it damages the rubber.
What evidence do you have regarding damage? As a preventative measure the slime is inside the tube and does not contact the tire proper.

Really your question makes no sense, what I can say is why motorcycles and cars don't use the slime?
And regarding the scooters the slime will add a lot of weight to the tires so it does make sense to install full rubber tires instead of the tubeless ones.
The tires will become unbalanced because you will never distribute the slime properly and evenly inside the tire and considering that scooters can reach speeds of 60-80Km/h you can imagine that the scooter will have a lot of vibrations and sustain damage over time.
So your evidence is that the slime is NOT in contact with the tire right? People use the slime when there is tube or not and good luck trying to get the tire out and then replace it because it has became trash due to the use of slime.
And I'm even wasting my time with a flat earth believer!

Maybe not the best place for this question. But here l go. The charging cable for my MASSIMO MM2 was stolen. Where can I find a replacement? Or can I buy a'genric' cable and use that?
I'm not familiar with that scooter but if you can find the voltage information for your charger, that would be the first place to start. You should be able to find a replacement depending on the charging port and power required to charge your scooter. There's no one generic charger that will work on all scooters. Best of luck! --Trina

Hi! If you're riding over 15 mph, we will always recommend a full-face helmet. If you want something that's full-face but lighter weight you could look for a downhill mountain biking helmet. They're generally not as heavy and have more ventilation, but will provide similar protection. Spare inner tubes, heavy duty motorcycle tire spoons and rim protectors. The plastic tire spoons are rubbish on such a small thick tire.
How do you use slime *_before_* a flat?
Deflate the tire and remove the stem valve . Insert the slime, attach stem valve and inflate tire. -Vosk

Helmets are important, I have Xiaomi pro 2 and I fell at a low speed (16 km/h) and I opened my head and got 3 stitches. after this I always wear a helmet even for shorter distances. Be safe

Winter isn’t all year long, the helmet and gloves will be to hot for the summer, too much sweat can be a danger.

My domain is cars, not so much scooters, but fix a flat/tire slime should not be used where possible. The slime is a loose weight inside the wheel, throwing the whole assembly out of balance. Furthermore, when it comes time to replace that tire, the slime will still be in there and will need to come out, causing quite a mess. You can probably get away with using slime to fix a flat if you have tires with tubes, but I wouldn't use it preemptively and I wouldn't use it in a tubeless tire.
We’ve updated our recommendations now. I have some slime in my car tire right now and it sucks! Every cold morning it shakes like hell until it warms up. We recommend armordilloz now. I haven’t had any problems both armordilloz. -Paul
As a driver I don't get why mounted lights on a bike or e-scooter have to flash! It's not like the light on them are dipped stopping other drivers getting dazzled like all other cars!
My light charges via usb, and the length of time it works while flashing is double that of solid, so I’ll flash you all 😄👍
