      @@earnestmedicine Yea I hear you :)
      I also live in a city and ended up selling my car because it just sat there costing money without beeing used.
      30min ride to work in the car became 6 minutes on a scooter.
      Noiseless fresh air is balm for the soul!

    This helmet from what I'm seeing has DH and MIPS, its absolutely fantastic it's heavier than the air r that I also returned for better protection they are both great but this Super DH (in the video) has better protection but trust me you still need more especially for this scooter!
    I had it and returned it when I discovered that I can take more weight on my hand and went for a motorcycle helmet 1.5 kg (~3 pound) Bell qualifier recommend by many including ESG. It's great because winter in Sweden is no joke you slip a lot it rains a lot (no holes) has a built in visor so one less thing to carry with me and its priced way cheaper than these cross helmets for much better protection DOT-certified
    Great/better protection
    Great all in one solution(better)
    Protection from rain and wind(you could wear a helmet cover but again one more thing to carry with you)
    DH super
    Is lighter
    Better for summer
    Cost more than double
    Cheaper in Sweden I got it for 120 euro instead of 330(discounted) for Bell DH super.
    I would recommend for everyone to try helmets in a store to see what fits and you prefer. Honestly protection should be number one unless you use your scooter in trails and away from cars otherwise it dangerous and you want maximum protection and again its not extremely heavy 1.5 kg is fine
    BTW I ride the vsett 9+, 50 kmh max I was able to get in 0 degrees celcius

    Good video mate! Love the colour of the helmet. Where do you store the chain lock on your scooter?

    • @earnestmedicine
      @earnestmedicine  2 роки тому +2

      Usually I ride with a backpack and I'll put that in the bag. But depending on the length of your chain (and your waistline) you can almost wear it as a belt. Just depends on what you buy.

    The fastest I've gone on a scooter is 60mph.
    I crashed going 43mph once. Good gear will not only save your life but let you simply walk away. I did.

      Woah, How was your experience with the fall and what kind of gear were you wearing, I ride a scooter a 45 MPH scooter as well. I know I can't guarantee not crashing so I'm wondering what was your crash like so I can mentally prepare for that horrific day. and yes I am a safe rider, not an adrenal junkie lol

      Will try to create a link list for this video in the near future, but for the time being most of these were purchased on Amazon and I would be willing to bet that you could find them on the UK Amazon website as well! Most bike stores will also have a small selection of good locks to choose from.

    Problem I've got and I'm pretty sure I speak for several others is that I wear prescription eyeglasses... I like the idea of wearing goggles but to find a pair that works with prescriptions is a pin in the haystack! I don't care for going into motorcycle shops and having them push a pair of otherwise un-salable goggles onto me that'll get thrown in the corner somewhere because they've become uncomfortable weeks later.
    Like your helmet BTW, what model of the BELL series is it?

    • @earnestmedicine
      @earnestmedicine  Рік тому

      Yeah, I agree that prescriptions and googles aren't friends. But the ones I use allow me to wear readers if there are small enough. Here's the bell: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GT6Z5XZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
      Had a bad accident over 2 months ago and so now I need a replacement so my team has reached out to Vista Outdoor who owns Bell Helmets to see if they will sponsor their Sphere helmet. It just has to be blue:-)

      Never too old to have fun. Specially if it helps get you one place to another. The only drawback I feel for you would be the weight of this thing. I am 37 and quite strong but still the weight bothers me. Live and have fun, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. ❤️
