What are your goals for 2024?
Hi Jarrod, I just started Zwifting last fall and have found your channel both entertaining and somewhat educational.
As for goals 2024: I want to join a real life race of some sort, and also be a steady cat c rider on Zwift. For this to be possible I will need to lose weight, which is much harder than anticipated - but the year is long and I'm off to a great start. Keep the good content coming! Cheers,
200 KM Bike Tour ;), Build up an FTP with 4,0W / KG and weight loss to 66 KG :)
Thanks! Good luck on your goals too!
The weight loss is definitely the most difficult part. Consistency and small steps every day and we’ll both make it for sure 💪
Solid goals! Good luck!
TT nationals in juniors :D
Nice J Mower. All the best for 2024. Nice new year resolutions.
Good luck with the move, too bad no bike for so long!! 2023, my second year road cycling, I managed 13,000km. Rode my bike in 4 countries. Austria, Greece, Poland, Slovakia. Amazing! Since I've been on zwift the last few months I set myself a goal of a sub 1h alpe du zwift, and I've already done it. Just under 57 min at 3.3w/KG. For the rest of the year I want to keep raising my FTP. I had initially set a goal of 275w but I think I'll pass that in another month.
Keep up the good work, look forward to your videos!
Thanks!
1h alpe du zwift is always a challenging goal. I hope to break 1h this year too! Good luck!
Good luck with the move. Might make some good videos to do some parkruns too. They're a bit easier to find in the UK I think...? Unfortunately none close by to me here in Texas.
Good idea! Yeah there's park runs everywhere in the UK, the closest to my home is about a 5 min drive away. The parkrun content will definitely be coming soon!
Best of luck on the upcoming move and training for the triathlon! I’m also moving this year, so I know how much bandwidth that can take up in someone’s life. Looking forward to seeing great things in 2024!
i like to watch your journey. Keep going.
Thank you! The videos will keep coming for sure 💪
Hey Jarrod - I think changing channel to "J Mower Fitness" is a good move - you'll likely I think get more views as you should find it easier to bring in people who are interested in Fitness generally than cycling specifically. Also... cross-pollination between Instagram and UA-cam should help bump up views and subscribers. Also some personal stuff in Instagram should i think increase your 'relatability' as people do like that kinda thing and BTS (Behind The Scenes) stuff too. I think you'll easily blow past 5k subscribers, once you get the channel name changed and get cross-referrals to and from instagram.
Good to see the cat again! she is cute and glad she's making the trip too.
2months of no bikes..... damn you're gonna miss the Domane for sure. Enjoy your last few weeks in China, hope you're ready for the cold and rain in Blighty......
Hope you have a good few months in China and hope you have a safe and easy move back to the UK.
Thanks Darren! I’m already missing the bike, but hopefully the wait will be worth it, those quiet country roads are calling!
👍🏻
How difficult is it to get to 4w/kg for those that are not genetically/time gifted? I have just started and enjoying seeing the noobie gains (currently at 2.6w/kg from 1.8w/kg) but I am sure a plateau is not far. The extent of my cycling ambitions is to be categorised as one of the strong riders of my RCC chapter, and I work best with a clear (and moderately achievable) goal in mind. I am not a professional, and happy to work on my goals for extended time periods
From what I’ve read most people say 4w/kg should be achievable for most people, but it’s definitely at the upper limits and would probably very difficult and require a lot of hard work and sacrifice in terms of diet and time spent exercising. With 3.2w/kg you’ll definitely be one of the stronger ones for sure! 💪
@@JMower The number excites me - I hope I can hit it some day :) Your journey towards it will serve as inspiration
