I played against this deck on the first week of Twilight Mascarade. I was definitely the best way to play this Greninja ex. 🙌🏽 Edit: Mirage Barrage is actually doing what it’s supposed to. Greninja’s attack says “discard two energies. THEN you deal 120 damage to two Pokémon.” Because that is the case, and by the time the damage is applied Greninja no longer has DTE, it cannot decrease the damage of the attack.
I just tried out this deck list in 4 matches and won all 4! Not too shabby! A little awkward at first and a little inconsistent with the draw support, but overall not bad. I even was able to comeback from a 2-6 prize card deficit. One thing I like about this deck is the constant 3 prize turns if you can pull it off!
For the Raging Bolt matchup is not that bad, but you have to play it more control style, setup 3 froslass, don't bench any 2 prize pokemons and stall. They autolose if they bench 2 teal masks + squak. They need 6 turns to win and in the meantime 3 froslass would deal like 300 dmg
Late to the party, but I wanted to say that the Snorlax Block matchup is brilliant. All you have to do is set up two or three Froslass and just sit and wait. Opponent is completely helpless.
This is the only deck that I have tried before I saw it on your channel and I had so much fun playing it. I still play it every now and again sometimes substitute frostlass for Pidgey

Thanks for the insight on the deck. It looks like fun but the lack of consistent draw support seems a bit scary, was that one of the issues you ran into?
Yeah same, I also tried a version of this deck with Pidgeot, and while it’s a more consistent draw engine, it still requires a lot of pieces and could take longer to set up if you can’t find rare candy in time. I might try adding a 1-1 Bibarel line…

I thought of a way to be able to terastralize" any pokemon in the card game. Ptcg would need to make 'Tera crowns' as tool cards for each type in the card game which you can attach to any pokemon except already Tera pokemon cards. And each Tera card would have an effect. Like Tera fire would boost that pokemon attacks or Tera normal makes the attack cost of that pokemon all colorless. The mirage barrage is working correctly, the double turbo is being discard to perform the attack action. Since it is no longer attached it does reduce the damage to 100
the game isn't working correctly there is a Japanese ruling that states its supposed to be 100 damage id link the site but youtube doesn't like links also the patch notes also states this is a bug and will be fixed next update
The ogerpon-raging nolt mu is very favorable if you evolve 3 froslass asap and then feed them froakies to knock out until the mid-late game when you can evolve a greninja to 2 shot a bolt and mirage barrage the cooked pons
@@WillieRayPR you're right but still, in the mid/late game the pons usually get knocked out by the accumulated damage. Suitable targets for mirage barrage could be Squawk and a gusted Pon in the active
I don’t think the double turbo lessens the damage of Mirage Barrage because the damage done from greninja ex is an effect of the attack and not the actual attack damage itself. But it would lessen the damage of Shinobi because its damage is from the actual attack
Frosslass is probably the best since the ruling is 100 damage with dte, still allowing for bibarel knockouts and even setting up quick archeops knockouts. Thinking of building this deck irl, since it's such pretty artwork. Im also thinking of combining it with palkia too!
What do you say, 100 or 120 discarding the DTE? In the regulations it is only in point F5 where they mention the modification that the energies make, long after point D in which the DTE is discarded. I think it does 120 damage*2

This deck would be a lot of fun (probably not very good) with weezing that did damage for being in the active. He also had a spread that did 40 to active and 20 to everything damaged. That +dmg pump would be a lot of fun
I believe double turbo doesnt reduce the greninja barrage because damage form 120 to 100 because the dmage comes form an effect of the attack and not the attack itself. like if you had turbo energy and you use the first attack it has 170 damage from the attack, that would have been reduced to 150. i think it matters if its attack or damage from an effect. This and the fact you are discarding the turbo energy for the cost of the effect. meaning turbos not on greninja anymore. If thats so then its not bugged.
The first reason is not exact I think since damage is damage, even if it is in the "additional effect". This is not 120 in damage counter, but really 120 damage. This deck scares me a bit if i dont have my manaphy on the bench. By the time greninja and froslass placed on the spot, i put my manaphy ahead of the time so it can last long against them (aside from the froslass effect)
You mentioned a bug with DTE not reducing damage on mirage barrage - I don't think it's a bug. You discarded the DTE before you attacked, so it's effect ended. Unless it doesn't work that way on other pokemon that make you discard an energy to do damage...
if raging bolt bench 3 ogerpon against greninja the matchup is free: bench 3-4 froslass, make frokies, cleffa and manaphy sacrifices on the active and win in 5 turns before they can get 6 prizes on your single prize only board.
Because the attack reads "Discard 2 energy" before mentioning damage, then when you remove the DTE you actually don't have to worry about damage reduction.
Even though the discard text is before the damage text, damage is applied first. Mew ex with DTE copying radiant greninja snipes for 70.
