There is something really comforting about this type of account around some of OSRS cities, especially the antiquated cities like Yanille that get deemed “irrelevant”. It genuinely feels like a community of people that have been building, farming, cooking, and just living life for over 20 years like any other village in real life. Games (MMOs especially) need “irrelevant” content like this to make the world feel real and alive. Its incredible that you can progress an account so far without ever leaving one of these random insular cities, which just makes it feel even more real. OSRS is an incredible game.
It's straight up the Runescape Classic/Andrew Gower vibe that does it for me. Although they now remain the same, places like Lumbridge/Varrock/Falador were updated constantly from 2001-2007. But on the contrary you have these quaint little areas like Hemenster, Karamja and the entire landmass of random bullshit south of Ardougne that really make you feel like you've ended up in a time capsule
Just stumbled across this and very excited. Yanille has always held a special place in my heart. It really feels like a city time passed by, and manages to keep some of that magic of the glory days wandering around as a kid having no idea what was going on.
For me, you are up there with the other great OSRS content creators as Settled, Limpwurt, Gunschilli, xRakine. Absolutely love your style of editting and storytelling. That was the o e thing I missed in the Swampletics series that you did absolutely right: to go into the lore and history of the game. I'm really hoping to see the series continue for longer!
Chilli and Settled are definitely on another level when it comes to content presentation, and I think given a bit of time this guy could be in comparable territory. Really hope the channel blows up!
I absolutely loved this one chunk documentary. I hope to see more of this type of videos in your acct. I really enjoy this style where you actually talk and explain what your doing while your playing. So many ppl just fly through and bounce around to fast it’s not fun to watch. Great job with this video! New sub.
This is so good, straight to the point, interesting, and best of all no attempts to make it sound super super epic for no reason unlike later swampletics
I clicked on this thinking it was a 3 minute and 57 second video... it wasnt until I was 2 and a half hours in did I realize how wrong I was. Great video man!
Dude, this series scratched that itch i've been looking for. I caught up with Settled's tileman series and then wanted more restricted RS play. Your content is phenomenal and was very comforting at the end of a long day of work to just lay back and watch the grind. Hope future chunks treat you well.
I don’t even play RuneScape, but you got me hooked on this series dude! Just finished watching the series the day before yesterday but ready to watch this again. Hope you continue the series!
Just finished this. My algorithm did right by me. What a series, another content creator that i can look forward to watching. You're definitely up there with the best. Superb editing, superb everything in general.
Never thought I’d sit and watch a nearly 4 hour long video on UA-cam, but the way it is presented is so digestible. Plus I do enjoy learning new stuff!
Just had this recommended to me by YT and it was so good I watched the entire thing in one sitting. Fantastic content Chunky Neil, can't wait for the next episodes.
Mad props for making a limited series that feels hard earned and difficult without straying into full on self-flagellation. Having bank access alone makes the looking back at the progress and future planning feel so much more satisfying. Being able to look past small mistakes and setting tangible and realistic goals are such a breath of fresh air for these type of videos. I appreciate the background lore you’ve sprinkled throughout the series as well! Great work, I’ll be keeping up with the series for sure!
i know you likely won't ever see this but. whether this keeps coming up on autoplay, or i actively seek to watch it whenever i want something comfortable and interesting to watch, this always comes up. thank you so much for deciding to share your gameplay and mind and creativity with us. your content has, as a personality, become such a staple in my everyday life, and you as a person without the allure of parasociality, you are so admirable for wanting to chase your creativity and i'm so glad you found success. here's to your longevity, Josh
I love Yanille so much, spent most of my early member days there, I was a prayer and magic enthusiast so I loved it, sand bucket moneymaking, altar runs, magic guild, the iron ore mines a lil bit north, loved it. It was very very far away and just after the gnomes so it felt inherently magical. I had a terrible day yesterday, couldnt even get up from bed, and now here im awake at 4am after an interrupted night of sleep, and this video will be a great company while i play minecraft. Thanks!
i took too long to come around to this series. now ive watched all the episodes and recapped with this mega video. anyone that enjoys any kind of one-chunk or ironman progress series will surely appreciate this one. good work and ill see you at 100k subs
This was such a comfy watch. Loved this video. I don't usually have time to watch these long osrs challenges but whenever I find myself on a fight or sick with the flu I treat myself to them and man does it make what would've been a bad unproductive experience almost wholly enjoyable. All the effort you put into the editing and making your own music (inspired by Yanille) as well as filling out the wiki pages with the findings and math you did while playing is such a fantastic way of furthering the community too. Definitely subscribed. Fantastic stuff my dude.
Just finished this whole series without ever hearing of you before. I can't say enough how well done this is! Your editing, story telling, and especially the music are so well done. Looking forward to season 2!
Often these big compilations of long series push these smaller creators over the edge. Hopefully that is what’s happening here since I have no idea who this is lol
Just watched the whole series so far today for the first time finishing it a few hours ago, and then you upload this video. The timing. Fantastic series btw, love the drops of interesting facts about yanille and the narrative approach of the series, not revealing everything straight away. Could've told us in episode one about Salarin, but was glad you waited 'til it was necessary. Nice to not know everything that is going to happen, waiting to find things out gave me more to look forward to it. Didn't watch the chunk roll stream on twitch (as I only saw the recent episode today), so look forward to the next episode to find out.
This is so well done, every time I found myself wondering what you're doing or why you're doing it, you answer it with a little explanation! I was engaged the whole video which is rare for me.
I've just started on my very first ironman, which is a GIM. Because of the one episode I watched of this series, where you talked about Salarin, I figured I would use the sinister chest to train herblore. I'm close to lvl 67, so I'll train a bit at the pyramid and watch the rest of the series while doing so. Nice series ❤️
I just found this video and your channel. Yanille is my favorite city in game, I always have my house there, it's the bank I skill in. Lots of great memories. I'm really excited to check out your channel
I’m disappointed in myself to have only discovered this channel this late into my Runescape rabbit hole journey… these videos have been my pal as I chug through my first ironman and all of it’s long grinds. Will definitely be rewatching all of the other uploads too ✌️
i love this series and i love how much effort you put in the quality of your videos. You think in every detail and it makes the hole experience so much better for us, thank you!! can't wait to watch you in the next grind!
Really enjoyed the movie Josh. Was a great video to have playing while working on my ironman! From the editing, exciting gameplay, learning more than I care to admit about Yanille, and of course your personality, those four hours flew by. Wishing you the best on the next chunk, and I will be tuning in.
I'm so happy this came up in my recommended feed, looking forward to all your upcoming content! This was an amazing grind and the quality of the videos is really good!
Runescape content creators such as yourself help me out so much when I'm grinding out osrs, seriously man the dedication you put in your videos is amazing. Really love how detailed and smooth this video was, currently got back my questcape running through videos like this. I'm also the proud owner of being the 80th comment of this video.
just watched this entire video today, never heard of this channel before. Really excellent series and brilliantly edited. Excited to see more, this deserves way more views!
This quickly became one of my favorite Runescape series. It has fantastic quality every episode, fun game trivia and good commentary. Looking forward to the next chunks!
Dude I found you by accident, and I await every episode now. They way you drop Classic facts also takes me back. You have so many chunks of history when it rolls on khazard that place will interest you too. I love this series!
Absolutely one of the most well made rs series. I've enjoyed this just as much as back when munclesonkey first made good Ironman. Keep it up, you're doing amazing
I can't speak for any other chunk/ kandarin locked accounts but I also got 66 Magic purely based off monster drops of runes as a uim... so brother I can relate more than 99% of people can to the struggle you went through! I didn't know about salarin though, I got lots of runes from the elementals in seers/chaos druids/ pickpocketing paladins and the nature rune chest in ardy, so I had more options but damn it was still a journey! Can't wait to see wait your journey takes you 🎉🎉🎉
I was afking NMZ at work on my IM and I was like lets see if there is some Yanille locked content... I am glad I did, it is kind of random that I never watched this before, very awesome 💜
My main was made Feb 2002 and I haven't played in years, as well as havent watched an RS video in a long while (I was locked in for Swampletics, so probably stopped watching upon the end of that). Randomly got recommended your video, I'm an hour deep and am gonna finish this video in one go. Just liked, subscribed, and now commenting for further algorithm traction. You deserve it bud! Great work so far, excited to watch it all.
Also, the screen effect for the casket drop to just get 40gp... Chef's kiss. The effects weave a beautiful tapestry behind your storytelling, thank you for combining this video together so I don't have to cobble a playlist together for the next 3 hours hahaha
Only suggestion I can think of so far? If you ever wind up doing another multi hundred hour grind, it might be nice to every now and then throw out whenever you hit another 50hrs in. Even if it's not the most exact metric, just to put some things into perspective. Just thought of that once I saw you hit the 4k dwarf kills! Loving it man! I haven't even looked at your other vids on the channel, still locked in hahaha.
Gutted I only just found out about you. Will certainly watch your stuff from now on. Thanks for the hookup with Old school soundscapes, look forward to watching them next too. Keep it up, love the style & the content. Good job
I'm only halfway through the video, but I have to commend you for all the work you did on the Agil dungeon wiki! You're a true hero. And I hope my humble comment helps the algorithm show this awesome series to more people.
Thoroughly enjoyed this. I know you mentioned liking Settled but I must say Iike your video more. You're not exaggerating your reactions like him, other than that, great stuff. You've earned a subscriber.
The intro alone made me sub and i havent seen any of your other videos. Halfway done now while training agility and def gonna have to check the other content
Amazing! I remember watching the first 5 of this series before youtube stopped reccommending them to me :( Thank you for making this mega video!! I'm already halfway through and I'm so happy I get to see how your yanille journey goes!! Excited to see where this account goes in the future!! 💞
Great series man. Found out about this series on the last episode. i've had this in the backround like 5 times already, reminds me of a mini swampletics series. great stuff from beginning to end
I am gutted I didn't get to watch this series unfold in real time but I absolutely loved every second of this entire video. The educational deep dives into random little mechanics that no one has ever thought of makes me so happy for some reason lol can't believe this doesn't have more views
The series was really well thought out, absolutely filled to the brim with details, lore about Yanille, and had really really good pacing the entire time. Just last week, I started watching the Swampletics and McTile series from Settled. I also watched the playing RuneScape properly video from KempQ, and both really enjoyed both of those series. After coming off of both of those channels, your video felt like it belonged right up there with them. This was a really good video, everything was thoroughly interesting and I was easily able to get excited with you about something that you would accomplished just as much as you were in the video. I also just want to know how much I appreciate you censoring out a lot of the cursing or curse words in your video, I watch a lot of other content creators that will very commonly use explicatives, so it’s a really nice and refreshing change of pace to see someone taking the time to make things, not as vulgar. I’m excited to see where your series goes next, I really think you have a lot of potential to grow, not only in your UA-cam channel, but in your RuneScape knowledge and sharing of wisdom about the game. God bless and can’t wait to watch the next series of your videos.
I didnt know you made this music! its so good man

Agreed 👍
I can't stop watching this. I've probably run it a dozen times this month. The score, the vibes, the editing. Just so good
Hate to break it to you but you probably could've gotten all those stats faster by going to other places in the game
Wtf are you serious
lol

One of the best series I've watched recently. Everything was brilliant, from content to post-production - you should be really proud!
ngl listening to all your episode back to back make me appreciate the effort you put into your music.
the use of that yannile motif is beautiful
First detail I noticed, really got my attention

How did I miss this series while it was ongoing? Thanks for the full upload, been binging it for a couple days now! Great series!
Can't wait to see you complete Watchtower Quest in either 3 months _or_ 5 years!
New life goal
So whats you fiver year plan?
oh, mostly I just want to complete the watchtower quest. XD

This is shockingly good. This is Settled level editing and content. Well done dude, you worked really hard on this.

Big ups for a great series! so Cozy! love the song at 32:19, so chill ^^

This was great, quality content! I like the simplicity in the editing and the music was groovin. Seriously would bump in the whip/10
The most relaxing and enjoyanlr video ive ever watched about a game i dont even play

I’m excited to see where your series goes next, I really think you have a lot of potential to grow, not only in your UA-cam channel, but in your RuneScape knowledge and sharing of wisdom about the game.
God bless and can’t wait to watch the next series of your videos.
