DTE does NOT reduce the attack to 100. If you use that card as the energy discard requirement, It's not attached to the attacking pokemon at the time of the attack
So I thought so to because thats how those effects used to work but apparently they updated the rules for those types of moves. Thats why there's so much confusion.
So, this is a bit contentious. The online game does not reduce damage due to DTE. I believe this is because there are two effect steps when resolving an attack… 1) Effects that alter the success of an attack are applied (DTE does NOT alter the success of the attack and thus is not counted on the first effect check)…then later after all conditions to use the attack are applied..ie discarding DTE, the second effect check occurs which checks for effects that alter damage dealt. When reading the official rules, that’s what I am seeing. The effect check that would apply occurs after all conditions in order to use the attack are completed…and by that time, the DTE is long gone. Additionally, the damage calculation step per the rules comes after the DTE is discarded as a requirement to use the attack (see step 5 of the advanced rules on attacking - calculating damage…which directly references “effects of energies on calculating damage…). It might help to think of the first effects check as the “status effect check” such as burned, confusion…etc. The second effect check looks at effects that alter damage directly.
At 10:50 Why didn't you take a Froslass with Irida and an ultra ball to take the second one? The double turbo energy allows 120 damage because you discard it due to the effect of the attack before you do the damage. This is what a judge told me when I was playing ninja
I mentioned in my commentary that I messed up not getting the Froslass! for double turbo energy the judges that I asked have mentioned that the attack and effect goes off first before you discard therefore it does subtract the damages, I am not saying that the judge you asked was wrong but this needs to be asked by maybe a higher up judge
starting pokemon trading card with some friends. coming from yugioh. Do you think this deck is fine for beginner? Just saw a Greninja deck 123rd lace on NAIC New Orleans. But slidely diffrent list than yours
I think TCG live has issues with the double turbo damage / discard order. I've used the double turbo with well spring ogerpon and the effect does full damage after discarding. Not sure if their text is different.
I just started playing pokemon cards for couple a weeks now. Still in the beginning stages. I built my deck from this video and been playing at my local card shops as “beginner”. When I played radiant tsareena, they are telling me that the card would have to be in the active spot for me to use the ability. Is that true or can you use the ability on the bench?
Thank you! Appreciate the videos you make!! This deck I played after your video helped me win 3 straight games and the I lost to a dang dipplin 😅😕. Looking forward for more videos!!!
@@royalillestWhich deck do you recommend beginners to hit Arceus? I just started 6 days ago and got masterball with Charizard and Shaymin with Greninja 😅
Could you make a discord server for easier chat and and deck building channels? I really need to understand why all those energy searches are there while only 5 energy. Also, 3 arven and 3 irida is crazy in my opinion, with greninjas first attack you can find any card, so I prefer 4 irida 2 arven 😅
Been trying since you released your deck list but it feels really inconsistent to me which is a shame because I’ve always wanted Greninja to be in the spotlight since Greninja break
@@royalillest in my experience you really gotta abuse DTE against Gardi. Snipe their Kirlias, munkidoris and other Pokemon to stop them from setting up. Gardi is why Greninja needs a secondary attacker, it really cannot take down Gardi.
Hey uhhhh u meant to get the froslass with the irida and u said u accidentally picked snorunt y'know u can put back the one of the cards u already picked
Its actually incredible how many times this comes up. Official rules state to apply all effects that altar the attack first, then damage. It should be 120 dmg.

Yayyy I was so excited for the explanation
Hope it helps!
Would the effect of the double turbo energy be cancelled out since you have to get rid of the energy before you can attack? Also love your video
The attack and effect goes off first before u discard. So it is still reduced damaged. Appreciate you supporting the channel 🫶🏼

Just follow the order of instructions on the attack
Hey ! I want to start playing Pokémon is this deck beginner friendly and not very costly ? Thank you.❤
It is definitely cheap but in terms of beginner friendly I think it’s okay. A little hard to pilot compare to other decks

I think it’s a cheap deck, not too hard to learn. But it’s not the best deck in the meta so idk if u will enjoy it if u keep losing 😭

The dte does not reduce the mirage barrage
It does sir, if you have DTE energy on mew ex and you copy radiant greninja his attack is reduce. Radiant greninja and greninja ex is similiar
@@royalillest for some reason on live it dosent reduce the damage for greninja ex but for radiant it does
The same happens with water ogerpon, i think this is not a bug
Very good deck

Because it says put 120. It's not wrong he is

nice gameplay! im also making this deck and it should be a lot of fun! also, what is the soundtrack you used for the first game @3:50?
I thought the damage reduction was ignored because the cost to use the attack is remove the energy
That makes perfect sense, but it's jsut wrong apparently....
The attack and effect goes first then you discard the energy so it does apply
thankya
what sleeves do you use?
I use dragon shield!
Ok thanks!

What about Greninja Ex With Iron Valiant?
Do u think this deck can be use to climb the ladder to master or arceus
i think it will be rough since there is a lot of gardy right now and they hit you for weakness :/ try my other decks that I have posted!
@@royalillestWhich deck do you recommend beginners to hit Arceus?

i think that's wrong, when you detach the double turbo i think the effects don't madder because you detached it for an attack
Attack and effect resolves first, if u are unsure just ask your judge at an event
enjoy ur cruise!!
Can you do this for dragapult plz
