    My first step in preparing this project would have been to google "what the hell is a gingerbread jig?" hehe. Nice job, Marius, and 10/10 for your brother's acting skills.

    Its quite easy to get closed segments to line up in the centre, it just takes an extra step. Cut the segments with an angle slightly greater than what you are going to use, this will make gaps on the inside. you shim the gaps so that you can get 2 perfect halves. sand the faces flush and glue the centre line.

    Using the tablesaw to hollow out the base was genius! Really enjoyed watching the video even though I did not know what and how it was supposed to be used for until the very end. Lol! :D

    Beautiful work. I find it fascinating the incorporation of the edible white wafers into the cookies. I wonder what the connection to communion wafers could be. Like the Polish oplatki at Christmas. Although it could be just a practical method of keeping the cookie from getting brown and crisp on the bottom and a release agent. I had thought you were going to make a cookie mold that had a relief engraved into it.

    Haha, I made a 'jig' the other day for flossing my cat's teeth. Actually used a lot of typical woodworking jig components. Everything is a jig!

    You should glue a magnet to that circle clamping setup, it'd give you somewhere to throw the nails so they don't roll around when you pull them out.

    only 3 hours? is it enough time to the normal wood glue get dry? or did you use anything to make it faster?

    Ich hab bis zum Schluss nicht kapiert, was das eigentlich werden soll. Aber als ich es dann verstanden habe, habe ich mich gefragt, ob man nicht noch etwas verbessern könnte. Zum Beispiel könnte man einen Auswerfer einbauen, damit man den Lebkuchen leichter aus der Kuhle kriegt.
    Ansonsten aber wieder ein schönes kleines Projekt wunderbar ausgeführt. Ich bin auch schon gespannt auf dieses große Projekt, das du angekündigt hast.

      That is called a "Back Oblate", It is basically edible wafer paper made from wheat (similar to rice paper) you can buy as precut discs.

    Hey Marius, what is water based polyurethane varnish called in German? I cant seem to find 'Polyurethan auf Wasserbasis' in my local Baumarkt. Can you recommend a good brand? Or what was used here in the video? Thanks :)

      Acrylatlack müsste genauso gehen. Einige der wasserbasierenden Lacke im Baumarkt sind übrigens PU/Acrylat-Mischlacke, auch wenn es nicht groß angeschrieben ist. Wann immer ich transparenten Lack für etwas möchte (glänzend oder matt), habe ich Parket-Lack genommen (vom Bauhaus: www.bauhaus.at/holzlacke/swingcolor-parkettlack/p/15101447 ). Das ist so ein Mischlack. Ich habe damit z. B. einen Waschtisch lackiert (also immer wieder mal nass). Und in über 5 Jahren hat sich noch nichts verändert, obwohl die Reinigungsmittel im Bad ja nicht gerade die schonendsten sind.

    Oben den Aufsatz hätte man vielleicht aus lebensmittelechtem Edelstahl machen können. Hätte irgendwie cool ausgesehen und man hätte es können in die Spülmaschine geben. Ansonsten, top wie immer!

      @@brh4015 Ich sage ja nicht, dass das Holz eine schlechte Wahl ist. Ich persönlich hätte es in Edelstahl nur schöner gefunden und man hätte es in die Spülmaschine machen können (denke ich). Alles gut, mit dem was er gemacht hat.

      Ja, das Video hab ich schon vor zwei Jahren aufgenommen. Aber nach der Weihnachtszeit wäre es sehr unpassend gewesen. (Die Bohrmax-Bohrer sind hammer!)

      yes they are. Its just a very thin biscuit. The jig is to make the gingerbread biscuits easier without breaking the wafer, as they are very thin and easy to break.
