Enjoy the video! -
Some will say it's a great idea,
some will say it's a strange jig,
some will say it's not a jig.
some will say it's bullshit.
I will say it's yummy gingerbread for free ;)
Free
"jig"
Haha i was half expecting something that rythmed, but the last line made it even funnier :P Thank you!
That eyebrow at the end. Nice video!
Very cool- I think you forgot to include the recipe in the description;)
So glad you showed how it worked. I was so confused for the first 8 and a half minutes!
For some reason I thought this was a gingerbread man jig, and I was deeply confused right up until the last minute of the video xD!
My first step in preparing this project would have been to google "what the hell is a gingerbread jig?" hehe. Nice job, Marius, and 10/10 for your brother's acting skills.
Great to see you create such a nice gift for your brother-in-law that you can enjoy as well! Very nice
Its quite easy to get closed segments to line up in the centre, it just takes an extra step. Cut the segments with an angle slightly greater than what you are going to use, this will make gaps on the inside. you shim the gaps so that you can get 2 perfect halves. sand the faces flush and glue the centre line.
Using the tablesaw to hollow out the base was genius! Really enjoyed watching the video even though I did not know what and how it was supposed to be used for until the very end. Lol! :D
What a great way to start a weekend, a video from Marius. Down side, I want a home made Biscuit/Cookie.
I like your description of gingerbread men at the start of your video!
That smile at the end of the clean shop clip was hilarious.
Beautiful work. I find it fascinating the incorporation of the edible white wafers into the cookies. I wonder what the connection to communion wafers could be. Like the Polish oplatki at Christmas. Although it could be just a practical method of keeping the cookie from getting brown and crisp on the bottom and a release agent. I had thought you were going to make a cookie mold that had a relief engraved into it.
Nov we need your brother in law to make a youtube video on making cookies... (and maybe sharing a recipe?) :)
Awesome video!! Keep on creating!
the pin board a cool idea ,
Nice build, enjoyed the process, interesting jig, seems overly complicated way to make a cookie though.....but as long as they taste good.
I spent most of the video trying to work out what it was for, right up until the end. Then i drooled 😋
thanks again for a great video
Nice job Marius
You are very entertaining. Keep it up
Haha, I made a 'jig' the other day for flossing my cat's teeth. Actually used a lot of typical woodworking jig components. Everything is a jig!
You should glue a magnet to that circle clamping setup, it'd give you somewhere to throw the nails so they don't roll around when you pull them out.
Cool jiggy thingy. But I've never seen gingerbread biscuits made like that before. Now there is something else I need to look into
The table saw cut at the end--very Matthias!!!
When they asked you "how do you keep your workshop clean"
I was waiting for you to say "maaaaaam" :D schmek gud
only 3 hours? is it enough time to the normal wood glue get dry? or did you use anything to make it faster?
Any reason you use the drills with the small batteries?
6:18 You: Shows us, "mess" in your shop.
Me: still cleaner than the cleanest part of mine
The "Jig" is up!!!!
the beard looks good
I'm 8 minutes in and I still don't understand what this is supposed to be used for... Is gingerbread different in Germany?
8:45 huh, ok, a bit different.
@@b5a5m5 This is only gingerbread dough, The gingerbread that you know also exists here.
If you get a chance to try pfeffernusse, your mouth will love you forever. (That's if you like gingerbread)
@@b5a5m5 I think this type of gingerbread is German lebkuchen.
Me too. Was expecting a revelation in the end but it ended up being "Huh? Are those Gingerbreads??"
What a bizarre way to make gingerbread :D
Hahaaaaaa! You too have to fight against the dust! That means you are human.
Sehr gut!
I was thinking it would have been funny if you had put in a gag blooper of your friend tasting the gingerbread and then spitting it out =) Fun project with delicious results!
We need to have some samples.
I read ginger man. And then oh.....ginger bread. I can see that jig working.
What for a absolutly genius idea. I Love it. Great Work and Video. Regards #EuerKonstantin
Bist also nicht alleine 👍
Zom „Bredla“ backa, super Vorrichtung und selber hast ja auch was davon👍
Nice video as always Marius 👌 I’m curious about what kind of sander/polisher you are using 2:36 in the video 😊
I've made a video about it: ua-cam.com/video/myBwALrpYeM/v-deo.html
I suspect that, for the jointing magic, This Old Tony gave you a hand? Confess! =)
whats the white thing on the bottom? I've never seen gingerbread done like that
I used to live in W Germany in the 70s and I have never seen these biscuits. Are they a recent thing?
Nice
Hatte dieselben Gedanken 😂
Awesome job! Could you please add the recipe for the ginger bread to the video description? ;-)
Anyone notice how fast he was talking in this video?
Gingerbread is good
I always enjoy your videos. What is the disc? Is it something you can buy, or does he make those too? Thanks.
That is called a "Back Oblate", It is basically edible wafer paper made from wheat (similar to rice paper) you can buy as precut discs.
@@progandy Thanks for this. There's a World Market in my city, and they may carry it.
Oh, I see. They're lebkuchen.
Great work but really do you really need this device to make a cone shape bread. I am sure hands will work as well. Lol but i guess it is just for the fun of it
how old the hell is this record?! you can see his old jointer/planer
You're a fucking genius! 😁
It's a very well made... thing. As concept, it looks quite stupid, but the craftsmanship is very nice.
Hey Marius, what is water based polyurethane varnish called in German? I cant seem to find 'Polyurethan auf Wasserbasis' in my local Baumarkt. Can you recommend a good brand? Or what was used here in the video? Thanks :)
PU Lack. Z.b. www.farbenhaus-metzler-shop.de/1k-pu-siegel-lack-wasserverduennbarer-hoch-transparenter-pu-klarlack-fuer-strapazierfaehige-beschichtungen-innen-und-aussen.html
such mal nach Pakettbodenversiegelung auf Polyurethanbasis
@@Ghost111911 Ah super. Danke!
@@mulholla freu mich, dass ich helfen konnte 😉
@@mulholla
Gingerbread,
Ginger biscuits,
Glace ginger,
Pickled ginger,
Don't think I've ever met ginger I didn't like
I thought you were gonna make a jig out of gingerbread
Make your shop tour
Nice video! Where is the Kity?
The video was recorded two years ago
It's awesome thing ))
LOL excellent jig, where's the recipe for the gingerbread though.
old planer?
old video
Now I'm hungry...
Did he say "mmmmmm" in German or in English?
Recipe please!
Here is a recipe in english: www.daringgourmet.com/traditional-nuernberger-elisenlebkuchen-german-lebkuchen/
Hmmm very strange
Das is mal ne andere Möglichkeit. Ich kenn nur die Lebkuchenglocken...
BRAVISSIMO ... CIAO
At 9:10 I almost didn't recognize you :P
So those white wafers are edible?
yes they are. Its just a very thin biscuit. The jig is to make the gingerbread biscuits easier without breaking the wafer, as they are very thin and easy to break.
It's rice paper, Oblaten in German
Interesting
It's like the stuff the catholics eat as the flesh of Christ.
I love these overengineerd things...
LOL
what about the BIIIIG projects, how are those coming alonge? ;)
Those planks are for the full-scale cookie jig. This is just the prototype.
Shoot, I thought the big planks were for the deep dish pizza jig.
Marius is looking for a boyfriend-free girl.
Marius and I both
👍👏👏👏
Best part is 9:11
Nice one Marius Weihnachten kommt bald greetings from Worms
Sometimes you just do things for fun, why be so serious all the time.
This is bullshit. This is not a jig. This is a strange jig! Ha ha only the trolls, my friend. I enjoyed it! Im sure people who like wood working enjoyed it. 👌
Is this an old video that you forgot to post? Your wotkshop doesnt look like it is now.
It would have made sense to post it when Christmas is over, so I had to wait
Marius is a true Genius. Praise Jesus for endowing this young man with incredible talents. There are few that could equal this man.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Slightly over-engineered, but looks really good!
www.lebkuchenglocke.de/
Haha I clicked on that link to see what it was, and a box popped up asking to confirm that I will accept their cookies lol
Like my friend
I was slightly bemused by the ending of your video - in the UK our gingerbread men look like ... men. A rare instance of us being more logical than you!
😋😋😋
👍🏻👊🏻 .... 🤤🍪
mmmmmmmhhh
