  • Christmas present for my sister this year. Made in Walnut, Cherry and Maple. Every panel was book-matched and hand planed.
(if you look very carefully you may find the part where I "cheated" a little)
    Finished with Osmo TopOil.
The joints were cut with the Hybrid PantoRouter

Beautiful work as always, and nice concept for a woodworking video! No distracting music. No narration needed. Mostly real time shots with low volume... sometimes even soothing sounds of precision machinery. And those languid hand-planing segments are delightful. Great contrast to the many high-speed build-videos. That satisfying little sound of the lid dropping into place, the finish application... All of it very relaxing yet informative without being invasive.

Mesmerizing video, soothing, yet describing the process succinctly. Loved the precision, with both power tools and hand finishing. You certainly keep your blades and chisels sharp ! I have always admired your editing skills, but this video is at a new level. Congratulations, and happy new year from Ireland.

    A beautiful video. :-)
There was a British furniture maker called Alan Peters who used to practise making a feature of the joints and joinery in his work, where many other makers would try to hide or disguise them. I thought of this when I saw your raised and chamfered dovetail idea.

Although everything in my carpentry heart screams *Fake!* I must say I am very impressed. For me to produce dovetails by hand is a must but it also takes some incredible skill to operate and plan out machinery in a way to archieve such perfekt dovetails. The giant bevel on the outside looks most impressive, I'd say. Well done!
