  • My mom wanted to hang her mixer on the wall. So I made her one, inspired by chisel holder.

    I think this is a dandy item. When someone asks you to build/make them something, you don't always have to re-invent the wheel. There's a lot of detail and hard work in that project. You should be proud.

    It looks good imo. Fits well with the other colors, textures and types of wood in the kitchen

    Another great video, thank you. Please hold the chuck when reversing out of the drilled hole; if the Morse taper gives, you could end up with the chuck and drill bit being flung off. eeek

    awesome video, just a note, what you made was a counter-bore. the difference is that a countersink is sloped edges and counter bore is vertical edges

    I have to admit, I was a bit worried when I first saw the maple piece on the block, BUT I really like the end result. Nice subtle contrast and overall shape. After all, what else can you do for a kitchen thingy holder.
    GREAT project!!

    That's a really cool idea. You don't think about it, but there's a whole lot of wasted space on a kitchen backsplash. I tried talking my wife into peg board for our for utensils and things like this, but she wasn't having it.

    LOL, I thought it was a bathroom shower tap thingy mixer holder until the very end where you mounted it in the kitchen, it still took me a while to realise that the kitchen wasn't the bathroom.

    Might be worth picking up a couple cheap action cameras and installing them in a few places just for those "I want footage, but I'm not overly fussed about how it looks", as your main camera is a bit big.
    Also helps with the "shit, I hope I don't brake that" when doing more ballistic work.

    Ich glaube das designtechnisch/ ästhetische Problem hier, ist der Übergang der Materialien. Denke das eine rechteckige, abgerundete Platte auf der das Ganze säße da abhelfen könnte. Wobei der Mixer dann natürlich weiter von der Wand wegstünde.
    Trotz allem ist das ein gelungenes Projekt, weil............... deiner Mutter gefällt`s :)

      @Frisenette 8 років тому

      Marius Hornberger Did a little research and it appears there actually is a wall holder for that brand and shape (Zauberstab) with a hole to thread the spiral through, so if you are unhappy about your own efforts (I don't see why though) get that. :-)

    btw, pürierstab (Mixer) in english is blender, not mixer (mixer means sth like mischpult)

    • @peggyt1243
      @peggyt1243 8 років тому +1

      English is my first and only language. I have a hand held mixer like the one in the video. A blender has a glass container and sits on a counter.

    • @BlueHammerGames
      @BlueHammerGames 8 років тому

      lots of mixers can blend (at home i have a handheld one which dose both) and lots of blenders can mix.
      The remark about sitting on the counter is used just to define which one it may be.

    • @peggyt1243
      @peggyt1243 8 років тому

      I agree with your verbs about mixing and blending. You could also puree. I was referring to the nouns/names given to such appliances by English speaking people.

    Adding to your point about the woodturning, do you ever think that constantly worrying about the camera has ruined the enjoyment of woodworking for you a little bit?

    • @MariusHornberger
      @MariusHornberger  8 років тому

      no, I wouldn't say so. The camera is just a part of it now. But especially for wood turning it's especially hard to set the camera up so that you can whats going on. Then you need different angles and so on...constant interruption.
