Atrium Carceri presents us the album Forgotten Gods, exploring the underworld beneath our cities.
"Far below the abandoned subway stations and sewers our reality collapses as tunnels turns to labyrinths and ritual halls where ancient cults chant in the dark. And deeper still, old civilizations of insectoid guardians and biomechanical priests guard outwordly artifacts and passageways to the ancient city.
Here roam the forgotten gods whom the unfortunate dwellers of the dark worship.
Here roam the hybrid creatures forged in the Machine City as its decaying birthing chambers cry for human eggs and seminal fluids.

yea. i just show people my spotify fav list cuz its too difficult to explain. its such a huge range, but mostly of "extreme" type of music, or ambient-ish stuff. "i listen to everything youve never heard of"

Atrium Carceri's full genius on display here. No other artist really nails the cold, lonely, confused vibe of dark ambient while retaining a familiarity that borders on the welcoming. It’s uncanny. I’ve been living life without any direction. To the point where I suspect I have no future. As if I’ve been on this “pathway to nothing.” Synchronicity at its finest. I take this as a sign. For what? I don’t know. I’ll figure it out.
Its all about the timeline you choose brother. You have to align the potential with your desires. Potential is a field stretched throughout Reality and it can be transformed into action by action.

Ritual of the Abyss at 15:40 is sick. I envision some shackled demon or tormented prisoner just dragging his chains around for eternity. Truly unique kind of music that allows the mind to go rogue in a dark, mysterious but calm way.

I only found cryo about 3 or 4 years ago. Man I wish I had followed it since day 1. Glad I made it here though. Cryo is one of the best of the best. I was searching for something my dna was asking for, a darkness of a certain kind. Found it. @@ivancar555

The picture resembles an Orthodox Monk. No idea if Atrium Carceri studied this, probably they did, but Orthodox Christianity (the true, ancient form of it) is an Apophatic Theology. It focuses on the Unknown Mysteries of God. Deep meditation in the swirling 4th Dimension where the Angels reside. That is why Orthodox monks go into the woods or caves and succumb to a live of meditation and ignorance of their physical form. Amazing.
Esoteric Christianity and even Suffi Yeshua are massively interesting topics. Truely, I tell you.

Yes I am Russian Orthodox - look up history of our saints, we have ppl that go live in the siberian wilderness with only a coat and a cup and survive for years in the harshest conditions in the world.

The Adeptus Mechanicus plays this album on repeat without fail. Glory to the Omnissiah! Love how wonderfully deeply layered those instruments are in each song. There is a dark and dense sense of slow pacing building in the viewers mind the slow and ponderous movement of the Forgotten Gods lurking beyond the veil - hungering for worship and sacrifice to them by Humans.

@@Stickysaltbread - I recently played the Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus game and the soundtrack is very similar to this in tone. My brain just connected the two I suppose. :) Plus, I like what we know of the Adeptus Mechanicus is just what is allowed to be known about them. You just know they got some crazy stuff going on in the darkest regions of Mars.
Please keep conjuring strange and mysterious worlds forever. They are strangely such an immersive comfort and really help with day dreaming new ideas and being creative. Love this new record!
Heard the first track in a warhammer 40k video about Fabius Bile talking with Slaanesh. The unease fits the atmosphere perfectly.

Halfway through this, I bought the digital album. I love, love, love Atrium Carceri! Their soundscapes ignite mental imagery like nothing else does! Atrium Carceri proves there is great power in subtlety!
Used this in my DnD abyssal horror campaign, my players loved it! Great work.

I’ve been able to start steaming through my read of the Horus Heresy while listening to this in the background. Sometimes it syncs up very nicely with what I’m reading.

The machine drove itself from bright daylight illuminating distant mountains into a sun-bleached concrete ribbon between ruined ancient fortresses clinging to the cliffsides and the profiles on the horizon of sleeping dragons so vast their spinal scales were the mountains themselves...

When I was in my early 20's I started exploring dark ambient music. First I discovered Raison D'etre, later I discovered Atrium Carceri. His music was so dark, and I loved it. Even tough I can't listen to his work today I am glad he was there for me.

A person who really enjoys Lovecraft's stories here. I started listening to cult music like this while reading, and I immediately fell in love with the eerie feeling it gave me. This music helped me immerse into the stories so well. So I just wanna say thank you for bringing all those wonderful pieces together into a long video, I'm loving it.

Absolutely!@@YourBelovedM I like the "Shadow over Innsmouth" the most and recently I acquired a book written by Polish authors who, inspired by that story, written an entire book composed of prequel/sequel scenarios to the original Innsmouth story. It's called "Kroniki Arkham: Widma nad Innsmouth". There are 3 such books that I consume right now :)

Bro I put off listening to this for so long, because I (ignorantly) had written off Atrium Carceri as just "background music" up to this point (while writing etc). Man was I wrong... This just randomly started playing from one of my playlists and my mind is blown. This is so good. Deep, varied, atmospheric, gripping and dark in such interesting and diverse ways. I love it. I have to apologize for being so dismissive before 🙏

Such a haunting and immersive experience, yet comforting as well toward the end. I was getting some vibes of Earthbound and Eternal Darkness. Those sporadic brassy sounds in Summoning Troupe really remind me a bit of "The Cliff That Time Forgot" from Earthbound. Great album.

These tracks are so rich with something divine. My favourite is Empty Vessel. It made me think it was empty indeed, but it was so in order to be filled.
