A Lonely Strain is probably my favorite track on this entire label so seeing it kick off a new playlist with rad art to boot let me know it was gonna be a good day.
This makes me think that we need a horror movie set in a sort of 80s fantasy type of setting, but darker, grittier, and with more of a sense of "cosmic terror". Like if the Black Cauldron got a live action film, mix it with a bit of Death Watch, some George A. Romero, and give it some scenes with lighting like "flare scene" in 1917. Some lonely human stronghold, surrounded by a gorey, muddy marsh all around it, the scene of dozens of battles. The landscape is nearly pitch black, but as the moon starts to peak out from behind some clouds, an ominous white glow slowly comes into view on the outskirts of the marsh. The reflection of moonlight touching tens of thousands of skulls, slowly marching nearer to the stronghold.
@@raddyroach Thank you! Listening kinda gave me some inspo to do some more writing. I tend to lean a bit into the "imagery" side of things, especially when writing horror. Really need to work on getting some more motivation so I can actually FINISH a written work and post it online or publish it. 🥲

Oh my god… this is nothing but perfect. The last time I heard ambient music so deep and dark was ‘Stalker’ by Lustmord & Robert Rich. An outstanding work.
@@stolyartoad8640 Rather, there will be an infinitely more amount of transiently conscious boltzmann brains than the amount of people or aliens who will ever exist, floating alone in a dead universe after the heat death. Horror is real and worse than anything you can read.
Ever since he was banished, the creature blindly wondered if the dark twigs of the forest, the speckled sunlight guiding him on his way, he engulfed every sunburn in his shimmering throat as if he had never tasted nor seen such beauty. For even with dirty feet, torn by wandering brambles and a halo of hair that has now turned into a mane, he has found his belief in the setting sun 🌺🕊
It's startlingly easy to view the scene. The horde, following the armored form of their caller. A slow marching pace across the inky, obsidian plains of dark grass. And as the dead army marches along their path, and at their leader's unspoken request: They raise their voices in song.
Whoever made this, this is exquisite in its rendering! Near perfection! Yes I am an old doom metal guy but here is a different take on the power of sound and music. I have severe ADD and bipolar 2 depression. I’ve been a toolmaker for 37 years now ( yes I’ve been to Ozzy/Iommi Sabbath and BOC concerts lol ) and I’m pretty good at building Legos too. But as all intelligent ADD people know when routine and structure go and are replaced by uncertainty and a hundred and one personalities ( most of them assholes ) depression and self doubt become crushing. There, now that you know I don’t have a fucking clue about psychology I will just say this : this type of ambient sound/music can lift someone with bad ADD and depression out of them selves and provide some comfort and focus. Maybe I’m just speaking for myself. I really like how you’ve made this middle of the road - with a tweak it could get a little brighter and happier or it could go even darker and more sinister. You do very good work please make more tracks like this. Thank You
Along the shore the cloud waves break, The twin suns sink behind the lake, The shadows lengthen In Carcosa. When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, "Come" I looked, and there before me was a pale horse. Its rider was named Death, and Hell was following close behind.
