I honestly think a gun's "feel good factor" is 80% the sound it makes when it fires. The sound this hc makes just sounds like it hits something every time you shoot.
100%. A few regulars I play with initially laughed at me awhile back when I mentioned “this gun doesn’t feel right because it sounds squishy.” Some guns feel better because they sound crisp or more precise. Took them awhile but they eventually came around and got what I was saying.
Weapon sound has a huge psychological effect on perceived weapon power. There's a story about how back in the day the Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory devs noticed there was a huge disparity in both usage rate and effectiveness between the MP40 and Thompson SMGs - even though other than model and sound they were *completely identical guns* in terms of actual stats and animations. It all just came down to how much "beefier" the Thompson sounded, which gave players the impression it was more powerful and they ended up being much more confident with the gun. TL:DR - weapon sound is a *huge* part of weapon feel and can make or break a gun sometimes.

This is exactly why I cant stand using shadow price or BT Werewolf because I haaaate the sound they make. Summoner is an exception because its a very good gun but I gravitate to way more options first

It might just be my bias from D1 days, but the basic model HC just.. feels right. Even on controller, 'The Devil You Know' was my go to.. well, up until the light level changes. Fatebringer shares the same model (and I believe one of the sunset ritual PVP HC's in D2 I believe?), and stats aside from what I've seen at least, they perform very nicely. I guess it's mostly psychological, but even with the encrusted junk on 'Kept Confidence', the thing just feels nice to shoot; a bit of a nostalgia trip. Even its decidedly awful rolls feel just as nice.
When I saw the perk pool, I was so sad. The stats are also kinda disapointing but honestly, the weapon feels so satisfying to use that it's hard to put down. I use it on both PvP and PvE on my hunter, and can easily say it's my favorite weapon we've gotten in a while.

Rapid hit increases your stability and reload speed with every precision damage shot you do with a stack to 5x. So yeah Zen moment ain't worth it no more for some weapons...

I personally like full bore with accurized rounds and eye of the storm/moving target with targeting adjuster and one arc targeting to reach 100 range, stability and aim assist.

Wallah you need to craft the new seasonal sniper “Locus Locutus”! I crafted mine and it is CRISPY. Fluted barrel, accurized rounds, enhanced keep away, enhanced opening shot, handling master work. Don’t sleep on the origin trait “head rush”. It makes up for a lot of handling since there is no “snap shot”. Try it out!
Yea, that’s why whenever I hear console aim assist is such a crutch, I point out pc movement is insanely better so it’s a trade off. I’ve always been console and my movement is ok, but god damn the jukes in this lol

I recommend trying Brya's love with precision instrument. It has 3 tap potential, like an infinite range not forgotten, but it requires 3 headshots and relatively low resilience from the oponent
On longer range maps you'll actually see some damage dropoff, but you can just spec for some more range Edit: Brya's also has golden tricorn, which after a kill, is 70 a headshot.

Then, the golden tricorn, I've seen it in action and looks terrifying on the appropriate hands, but it takes a kill to prok, where precision instrument just needs accuracy. I guess it will come to the meta and personal preference, but I think it's an interesting perk

Definitely looking forward to get down with the buffs to Handcannons though and knock out the patterns for a couple of the new weapons I have seen. Glad I'll be able to supplement a fair amount of Shiro Chi leveling with just straight up buying them with Cores etc.

Totally viable. People forget we don't need to run Rangefinder anymore. Killing Wind is one of the best Range boosts in the game now, and Quickdraw is amazing for any high skill player who isn't wearing Ophidians. Looks great, sounds amazing, can totally hang, doesn't need 80 Stability to land shots despite how good high numbers feel on paper.
this is infinitely better than austringer. austringer has fallen behind with it’s only decent perks and poor handling, mid range, and poor reload speed. this gun has max handling with quickdraw, great reload speed from enhanced quickdraw plus crafted masterwork, amazing range, amazing stability, eye of the storm, and a reticle that literally does not bloom or flinch. it’s amazing, it is honestly the best feeling handcannon in destiny history in my opinion.
Guns by themselves should feel good and perks should be bonuses. D2 doesn't really have that, if a gun has bad perk pools then it will be used less or not at all which is sad

You should use killing wind instead of QuickDraw, once you have killing wind active it gets you to 100 range. It might make it feel even better 🤷🏻♂️
I personally prefer QuickDraw since it’s not a stat monster hand cannon and 47 handling is YIKES! But it’s all preference at the end

The sunset PVP hc you may be thinking of is Luna's Howl, it uses one of the original HC models from D1.

This hc feels good to me because of the sound, same thing with the judgement hc, I loved the sound and I got a good roll so I used to for pvp.

If you want two strand grapples on titan you can use the chest plate that gives you a second grenade to have two grapples

You should try crafting the scout rifle with loose change and destabilizing rounds it's 🔥
Put on air assault, enhanced it has a passive 12 ae + an extra 40 per stack (1 stack for grounded kill, 2 for airborne)
It feels so nice, I'm a hc nut, I love hc's. And this one is peak for the feel.
