Here is the full irons review including a full test, comparison of the brand new options and my honest opinion on the huge claims that callaway are making on the tech. Golf Clubs & club fitting SAME DAY
Hey Alex, we love your honest videos here in the US. I work with metal finishes and its impossible for it not to mar on blacks. I'm glad you brought that up. If you ever making to Pinehurst I would love to play a round with you.
How much longer will the grooves last with a titanium face vs a steel face? Would it offset the cost?
With titanium will the grooves stay sharper for longer? Will we be seeing it in wedges soon?
Colour in the scratches with your sharpie
I've had two sets of blacked out irons over the last six years. And I never paid any attention to the mar marks. I don't see why anyone would be looking at their irons that closely. Why are you tripping on it, Alex? Its no big deal. They still look good, despite the inevitable mar marks.
My first clubs had graphite shafts and in the early days the bags were not Graphite friendly, so I used iron head covers that are L-shape and come down the shaft a little. I got used to the ritual of removing the cover, bit of a timing thing and when I've borrowed a set on vacation I feel there's something missing plus I can't stand the noise from the clatter. With that said my Ping ISI Nickels 1996 also very expensive at the time £1485 played for 9 years and then my next set Yonex Cyberstar 2005 played till 2015, In the cupboard still look almost new. So I don't mind spending money on the right product if I think they are going to last. Thses seem to be a slightly more forgiving / consistent version of the i200 and given the length of time I keep stuff the price difference matters less but only if they last, Clearly something has gone wrong with Callaways choice of finish they advertise these as the toughest coated irons as a selling point.and that doesn't seem to be the case against other black finish clubs.
Have had multiple PXG black iron sets since 2016.
The faces wear especially with sandy range use but have never had any wear on the backs like the Fusion.
Yeah, the scratches on black clubs occur to quickly. They look really nice when brand new.
That shot tracer on 4.57 landing left of the flag but the bounce is on the right xD
$$$$$$
I’ve played Rogue st pro for two seasons and apart from some ball strike marks on the face they still look brand new. These new apex irons will look old quickly. They do look good though..
These clubs make me appreciate my Ping K15 iron set that I found used for a fraction of a price at $150. They have a Ti face, extra weight in toe, and extremely forgiving. These Apex irons are better looking than the shovels of the K15s though.
£1k for the irons and another thousand for the black finish 😂
The best set of clubs I ever saw was a complete set of woods. The woods went from pitching wedge to driver.
I too love my golf clubs when I feel that "wook boosh" as well😂
Head covers?
Nope I pass !!!
In my 60+ years of golf, I have never used the back of the club to hit the ball.
It's not a big price for me. If you have to ask, you can't afford it.
Ooooh So you’re that guy 😂😝
@@dennysmith2291He’s not…he just identifies as “that guy”. 😉😅
