I loved your disclaimer. The part you said, "Your' knits are just as valuable as my knitting" brought tears to my eyes because of how it was said. It just wasn't words, you meant that with all your being and I felt it with all of mine. Please take care of yourself "Gentle Heart". Wish we were neighbors, but just pretend I am. Keep up your podcasts. I so enjoy them!!!! Ms. Jo
So many good knits! I love your son’s storm sweater. I just think kid and baby knits are so adorable. I love that we both love our book club cardigans❤
thank you natalie!!! he was so excited to wear it in our “second winter”! 🥰 the baby sweater you knit was so cute too, and the juniors are just like a practice version for the adult size 😂💗
i want to say thank you for always celebrating any happy accidents that happen in your knitting! today i messed up while knitting a sweater and had to pull back over 1,300 stitches (super stressful for me). i fixed it but felt discouraged afterwards, and your reminder that these things just make our garments perfectly imperfect and handmade is exactly what i needed!
so glad my joyful knitting mindset means so much to you! we all have those moments, it can suck to lose so much progress but it’s a learning process! so glad you were able to fix it. no time spent doing what we love is time wasted!💗
I also got the Arctic knits book from the petite knitter and I am so in love with her designs 😍 I can't wait to see what you plan to knit in this book ☺️ I haven't followed your knitting adventures for that long so I didn't see all your colorwork hats and baby knits but you did a great job ! And your Acadian and Shenandoa hat 😍 I kind of like the low contrast that you gave to the leaves but I totally see you project on switching the colors ☺️ Thank you for this year of knitting, your video was so nice to watch and well organised, it gives me so much inspiration for my next years knitting wrap up video ( I already filmed my 2024 wrap up and am working on it but it will be a lot more "young mom" messy haha !) Happy to get on board for 2025 with you ❤️
my favourite sweater to make was the leafhopper sweater by meredith willmott. its such a stunning pattern and a blast to knit. loving the cozy comfy knits you created this year! the colorpallette evokes such warmth!
So fun to see all your knits from the past year! For the hat with the white and lavender colorwork mixup, you could always just duplicate stitch those parts to fix them if you want! Duplicate stitch would also be great for putting your son’s monogram letter on the back of the stocking 😊
that’s a smart idea, but I think I'll leave it as it is. the mistakes are part of the story of the hat and it doesn’t really bother me! 🥰 however I do wish I could fix the issue on the arctic light where I didn’t do the first cable cross on one side… that does bother me!😭
A great selection of projects for the year. For a loose brim on a hat or neck, I use elastic thread and just darn it around through the back of the rib stitches. You can get it at fabric stores or online. Works for necks of sweaters too, if they are too loose. Great podcast - Happy New Years.
What an enjoyable and inspiring episode! The favorite thing I knit this year was a Sirdar 2372 cardigan girls' cardigan for give away. I loved the cables and bobbles!
Working on my first knit sweater as I am watching! I found your videos when I was thinking about picking up knitting and you (along with a few other creators) totally inspired me to try!
I love that the book club cardi was your favourite knit 🥺 yours is so pretty, it truly helped me stay motivated to keep working on mine 🙏 (also I love all of the baby knits, please bring more 🤭)
Thank you so much Mathilde!! the BCC KAL was so amazing to be apart of and I found SO many cool people through it and became friends with you from it 🥹💛
I love Shenandoah National Park! I saw my first baby bear there when I was a kid and used to drive through there as the 'scenic route' on my way home from college. You can always run a strand of elastic through the brim until you can get your yarn from the US to fix. Congrats on your productive year! My favorite thing I made was my handspun Trove Sweater
It is so fun to have personal connections to places we travel & the things we knit! we’re ALWAYS down for a scenic route, well as long as the little one is on board these days… 🩵😂
Happy new year Morgan 🎉 You have knit some beautiful projects last year I am looking forward to your 2025 knits 😊 I am knitting the Ankers summer shirt at the moment and it is literally flying off the needles 😂
happy New Year to you too! that’s such a fun one, I hope you get to wear it before the end of summer ☀️ looking forward to sharing my 2025 knitting plans!
Oh, favourite thing I knit in 2024 - I am all over the place with my knitting but for adult items, the Ranunculus. Never thought I would ever make it going by the pattern picture. But, all the remakes of it recently got me hooked. I made one and then another and then made it into a baby size as well. And for baby knitting, which I’m making a baby hope chest for my nephew, along with the baby Ranunculus, my favourite thing was the Bryce’s Cardigan. It was a lot of work but when I look at it, I just think wow. Your colorwork is beautiful. There are so many things to make but I’m finally getting the gist that less and beautiful is better than just pumping out more and more.
I felt the same way with the ranunculus - the ranunculus hashtag appeals me to the design more than the project photos personally! I love how you’re going about your crafting! It’s so great to hear about you putting so much time into making special pieces for your nephew, that is so thoughtful! I love the mindset you’ve come to with creating a few quality pieces over cranking out a lot - definitely something to balance as an excited beginner but I completely agree. 💛
I've knitted several rananculus which were gifted to granddaughters but my favourite is the one in black cotton. In high temperatures in sunny Spain it is so comfortable. Ive knitted another in dark brown which has bot been so worn - next summer I'm going to mke another in a linen/cotton mixture. No more commercial tees for me! Thank you for your content - maybe a book club cardigan next?
I love that! it’s a very fun design to knit, I am so glad you enjoy knitting it so much and share your craft with people you love!💗 definitely highly recommend the book club cardigan pattern!
Happy new year from England 🎉 my favourite make this year was probably a lace top from a 1940s leaflet - the pattern is called austinmer (sunglo 4036). I'm absolutley obsessed with the book club cardigan
happy new year! wow that sounds beautiful! I hear following vintage patterns can be tricky so that’s a wonderful accomplishment. I hope you can knit the book club cardigan this year 🤎📚
hi! love tour cozy channel ❤ making a comment mid watch so i dont forget! you can absolutely frog yarn held double-i would just wind the two strands as you go into a ball. then you can separate the strands from the ball into two separate balls (unwind 2-5 metres of the double yarn, then wind into two balls. you can deal with twists either by spinning your original ball or just passing one of the new balls around the yarn). you do have to do it manually but i find it to be a relaxing meditative process. i’ve separated mohair and merino in this way going back to watching the rest of this video now 😊
thank you so much for this info!! sounds like it would be SUCH a task especially with a mohair in your situation but I really want to turn this yarn into something more wearable for me 🥰
@ I lowkey wanna dye my Salty Days, probably to a deeper blue or maybe even a sage green 👀 I feel like it would compliment my skin so well. it would be a difficult one to dye because of the fiber composition though - 80% acrylic 20% merino
Thank you for another great video! Loved seeing all your knits thinking I will have to make a book club cardigan someday would you wear the pics of the Andes next to skin?
thank you Emma 🥰 I would, yes! it’s a very comfortable wool in my opinion. it’s still a wool but it blocks softly with a very nice drape & it is not scratchy for me. for a worsted wooly sweater it would be comfortable I think!
Great work what a beautiful collection. I love Sari Nordlund tees, I tested the Foxberry and I have the Kuutar tee which gets heaps of comments when I wear it. I would suggest you give Fiddlesticks Cedar a try, Rayon from bamboo with 40% cotton DK weight. I have also made the Love Letter top by Kutovakika using this yarn ☺️
thank you so much! 🥰 the Foxberry and Kuutar are both amazing designs! I definitely want to try out Fiddlesticks cotton - there are SO many colorways to choose from at my LYS! ☺️
My favorite thing I knit this year was my HEAVLY modified Sadie sweater by Ozetta. I knit in much smaller gauge and added elements from other designs I’ve knitted. I also over dyed the whole sweater a magenta color. I definitely need to knit with more fingering or sport weight yarn as I live in Florida.
that’s an amazing achievement, modifying a knit especially gauge really steps into a new realm as a knitter! definitely want to try overdying next year too, I hope it worked well for you. Ozetta and Sari Nordlund both have so many beautiful fingering weight tee & camisole designs that would be perfect for Florida. I lived in Pensacola for 3 years!
Your Bookclub Cardigan is beautiful, I think the narrower button band looks better than the original pattern and less heavy, the same with the alternative button band that Sarah from Two Purls in a Pod did - both improvements on the official pattern. Your Arctic Light is inspiring me too - I was intimidated by the amount of work in it, but maybe I can do it! My favourite knit from my FOs is my Salty Days cardigan adaptation - its super cosy and I'm wearing it even now in our South Island NZ "summer".
Could you please make a video on starter garmet patterns you've done and recommend. I've never tried and your inspiring but I'm so intimidated 😅 I'd love to see one with various types: starter colour work, cables and lace :)
Happy New Year!! Oh my, that artic lights sweater is so stunning, the combination of that colour and pattern 🤩 can I ask, did you ship any stuff to Australia when you moved? I'm temporarily living in the States but have acquired a lot of stuff here (yarn included), shipping to Australia is so expensive but I don't think I can fit everything in my luggage back 😭 and OMG PORCELAIN SWEATER KAL?! That's on my list too!!
😅 okay soooo we will not be here forever so we only brought what we could fit in two large suitcases, two carry ons, and two “personal items”. we packed minimally - I literally removed my extra shoes to bring my WIP yarn hahah. we brought what we ‘needed’ and planned to buy ‘replacements’ when we arrived of things we would rather store there, and we rented a furnished place here. but when we return to the U.S. we will be budgeting to ship a few boxes - it will just have to be done. 😬 we’ve bought many things will will want to take back - such as things I’ve knit, yarns I’ve bought, etc!
First of all, happy new year to you and your family! I adore every single piece you knitted. The Salty Days Sweater is definitely on my list this year 😊 I have a question to you as a knitter travelling to Australia. I am going there in a few weeks and already thinking about what to bring knittingwise. I just saw that you're not allowed to bring any wool into the country. I am wondering if I can bring cotton yarn instead... Do you have any experiences with that? I think my wooden needles in my carry-on will be OK - I did that before. But I desparetely need something to knit on during my 14-h flight 😄
Thank you so much! I was worried about the same thing, but I had no issues bringing wool. I declared it & my box of tea leaves upon entry and they didn’t even pull it out to check it, they just ran our bags through the machine one more time and cleared us, thankfully. not sure if you’d have the same luck but I’d hope so! guess it’s the same as most knitters not having issues taking needles of flights but the rare bad luck that your agent is in a bad mood you may have them taken. wishing you the best on your travels here!☀️
yes I plan to. unfortunately I noticed this pilling on my first wear so that’s why I think it may be felting rather than pilling. I purchased a sweater shaver on sale recently but I’ve worried to test it on my cable knits! I may try to get comfortable with using it on an old thrifted sweater before going at my Book Club cardigan!
Thank you!! They are from Firmoo! I’m wearing the #M45801 frames in gold but I swear by Firmoo glasses - I have a few pairs I switch between. 🥰 if you want to try them out, you can use my referral code Morgan248 for 50% off your first order!
My favorite thing I made in 2024 was the Anyday Sweatshirt by Ysolda Teague. I'm sorry your cumulus blouse is uncomfortable. I really love that color on you. My favorite thing you knit was the Salty Days sweater. I look forward to seeing your new videos in 2025.❤🧶
thank you so much! I love the color too! I think it’s mostly uncomfortable in the heat of the summer, it definitely got some wear when it was freshly done in spring here 🌸 hopefully I can get more wear out of it when it gets a bit cool again!
@@morganunraveled you can just use the same ball winder to get both off at once. You probably wont want to unravel the combined yarn with a ball winder anyway because it'll just get tangled every 2 seconds. That's the annoying "by hand" part, unless you want to use it double next time as well. I've once had some success with one strand on a ball winder and holding the other at tension, winding a little at the time then rolling the second one up etc. Not sure that was actually easier than doing both by hand.
I just made a Christmas sweater with wool of the Andes bulky and after wearing to a couple Christmas parties it has fuzzed up a lot from wear, I think the yarn might just be prone to pilling
ahhh interesting. may be best to knit it with a mohair to protect its integrity then. good info to know but such a bummer. it may just be how peruvian highland wool performs.
I’m sorry to hear that! I’m not happy with mine either, I kinda wish the acadia pattern was more inspired by the rocky coasts than the birch but I thought it would be a good first colorwork project since it was such minimal colorwork - turns out that’s trickier because of having to catch floats. nonetheless I’m happy I was able to learn on it but don’t love the finished product or yarn haha
happy new year cozy friends!! 🌟 what was your favorite thing you made in 2024? 🧶

A great year of knitting ❤❤❤❤
thank you Kaci 🥰🥰

wow you must be a ranunculus pro by now!! it was quite a fun knit so I do not blame you haha! 💛
FYI about your wool of the Andes knit, seems to be a pilly yarn in my experience, so I think it's the yarn and not your washing.

I like your videos and I wish I could watch them but your sound is really terrible. I cannot watch... Please do something !
