      I am obsessed with Stevie.
I own a copy of everything she has ever recorded. Seen her with FM 4 times , solo 7 , met her twice. Don't celebrate my birthday yet celebrate hers. LoL
She asked me once if I was a stalker after I explained how many time I've seen her onstage.

Lindsey's picking style of playing allows him to create the sound of two guitars playing. His thumb picks one tune and his fingers are picking another. His song Big Love really showcases that style as well. Legend.

  • @xBlackout718x

What you’re hearing at 1:50 is Lindsey Buckingham on guitar. He’s lightly muting the strings with his palm so the notes come out short and choppy rather than ringing out. The outro solo at the end is him too. His roots were in bluegrass music, so he draws influence from the banjo and fingerpicking styles. If you listen to it it does have that banjo vibe, except he’s doing it on electric guitar. He’s one of my favorite guitarists and criminally overlooked.

Because Fleetwood Mac is really 5 brilliant musicians, you will always hear something different, in each LP. Because this band is so old, they have evolved in many different ways. The best way to listen to 70's albums is by the album because each album was musically designed to have a theme or to be a kind of sonic story. When you listen to Fleetwood Mac is like taking a musical adventure they created for you to listen to. If you listen to "Rumors" all the way through, you will hear each member of the bands created songs and songs created by them together. If you have time, you should do a marathon so to listen to the whole album, one side at a time. Then you will get the idea the band/album is trying to express. Music then was more than a single like it is now. They wanted radio play, but their goal was to sell the album, not just a song. When you listened to a whole album, you finished with feeling like you took a trip..... Fleetwood Mac has always been famous for their albums; even in the 60's and before Buckingham and Nick joined. Another piece of magic is Christie McVie. She was great before she joined the band and married the bass player. She was Christie Perfect back then, singing blues mostly.

Dude, Fleetwood Mac is one of the bedrock groups of rock, They go back to the early 60s. You are just hearing the later incarnation of this band. They were a blues rock band with one of the best ever guitar players, Peter Green. The band is named for the founder drummer, Mick Fleetwood. I know you don't get your material from albums. Spotify and You Tube are limited. But, try to find other sources to hear the music of these bands from decades in the past. It's that music that leads to what you are experiencing, today.

That instrument you hear during the bridge is a guitar, Lindsey Buckingham has a very unusual playing style, and he layers different tones over different parts of the song. When he plays on one of Stevie's songs, he avoids strumming the guitar altogether, letting the bass and drums carry the rhythm, and leaving a large space for her melody to resonate.

Fleetwood Mac has 3 lead singers/song-writers, an amazing guitarist, an amazing keyboardist, and an amazing rhythm section. They are three bands in one, enhanced by the fact that every member of the band makes everyone else that much better. Lindsey is terribly underrated guitarist---he can literally make the guitar sing. Stevie is a unique voice and is amazing at vocal arranging. Christine was a fantastic keyboardist and a generous, ego-less bandmate and singer. Everyone can find something to like in Fleetwood Mac.

I'd like to see you react to "Tusk" for your next Fleetwood Mac song, because you mentioned that they have sounded different on every song you've heard, and "Tusk" is definitely a song that sounds very different from any other song by them that you've heard.

Stevie Nick's would be proud of your humility. She is a humble, classy, huge hearted woman. She does this for you me and everybody. Super intimate writer, personal beautiful poetry. Soulful, emotional performer. And super humble. Like you. That album was big my senior year in high school. I grew up listening to the Mac. Love Lindsay and Christine too. Thanks for taking me back to the gypsies that we were. Class of 82! God bless you sweat heart, you got class baby brother.

Oh Well is a great song. Problem is that You Tube doesn't seem to have the long version in one part. At least I haven't been able to find one. That's a shame because I think that earlier iteration of Fleetwood Mac would just amaze Rome.
