They were a vocal band, not much of a live act, and pulling out these fuzzy guest appearances from 1965 just distract from the music. But does anybody dig deeper than this or "Monday Monday"? No, they give up because of the rotten clip that has the most views.
Stevie Nicks is brilliant on this track. The range. The vibrato, the peaks. It’s crazy. And then there’s the other four members of this band who are each geniuses in their own way. What a band for those few records.
What you’re hearing at 1:50 is Lindsey Buckingham on guitar. He’s lightly muting the strings with his palm so the notes come out short and choppy rather than ringing out. The outro solo at the end is him too. His roots were in bluegrass music, so he draws influence from the banjo and fingerpicking styles. If you listen to it it does have that banjo vibe, except he’s doing it on electric guitar. He’s one of my favorite guitarists and criminally overlooked.

When he plays on one of Stevie's songs, he avoids strumming the guitar altogether, letting the bass and drums carry the rhythm, and leaving a large space for her melody to resonate.

They are three bands in one, enhanced by the fact that every member of the band makes everyone else that much better. Lindsey is terribly underrated guitarist---he can literally make the guitar sing. Stevie is a unique voice and is amazing at vocal arranging. Christine was a fantastic keyboardist and a generous, ego-less bandmate and singer. Everyone can find something to like in Fleetwood Mac.
Oh Well is a great song. Problem is that You Tube doesn't seem to have the long version in one part. At least I haven't been able to find one.That's a shame because I think that earlier iteration of Fleetwood Mac would just amaze Rome.

I've been a fan of Fleetwood Mac for 44 years. They're one of the best bands ever over the entirety of their existence. With this line up one thing that I think alot of people ignore are the album cover photos. They did some of the best.
i remember as a mid-to-later teens when I discovered her in the mid-80s. I was in love with this woman and i would stay up late in bed with my headphones and my Walk-man® to their music and just be entranced by how mesmerizing and beautiful her voice was. This was by far my favorite song by them, then and now.

Stevie Nicks and fleetwood mac is such a good band and artist. They deserve the recognition and more. I loved them since I was kid when I used to go to sleep listening to them when I was a baby. My mother said she would play them when I was in her womb. I'm sure Im not the only one that has this kind of connection with the band (if you want to call it a connection) but yeah....love them so much!

I've been a fan of Fleetwood Mac for 44 years. They're one of the best bands ever over the entirety of their existence. With this line up one thing that I think alot of people ignore are the album cover photos. They did some of the best.

i remember as a mid-to-later teens when I discovered her in the mid-80s. I was in love with this woman and i would stay up late in bed with my headphones and my Walk-man® to their music and just be entranced by how mesmerizing and beautiful her voice was.
This was by far my favorite song by them, then and now.

Stevie Nicks and fleetwood mac is such a good band and artist. They deserve the recognition and more. I loved them since I was kid when I used to go to sleep listening to them when I was a baby. My mother said she would play them when I was in her womb. I'm sure Im not the only one that has this kind of connection with the band (if you want to call it a connection) but yeah....love them so much!
You might also want to try Seven Wonders by Fleetwood Mac. Do the American Horror Story version!
The musicianship of this band is amazing they didn’t have quite the tech that we have now and they made music that stands up today.
