Lol / Friday night. The excitement I get when I see a video from Debo. I use to get excited to go to the bar, how times have changed. Debo Is one of the best!!!!
Always enjoy your content. I'm a bank fisherman so it's good to get feed back from a bank fisherman. I not good at cranking but I still give a chance everytime to get to fish.
That tree branch analogy was perfect - thank you! That really helped me grasp the concept of ‘why’ a more parabolic rod works! Yes to the crank bait giveaway! 👍🏼
Debo, great video as always brother. I really enjoyed the short tutorial on the squarebill painting as well as the information on what rods would be best to use.
I really appreciate how you talked about not only the rod that you should have for cranking, but also the reasons why! I would love to see more of these videos for all different types of lures and what types of rods work best for you!
The information you pass along is very helpful. Love the looks of the squarebill would be wonderful to fish with. Also like the T-shirt you’re wearing lol
Perfect timing on this video Debo. Just got a St Croix BASSX MH moderate 7’ 2” rod and have been trying to decide what reel (and ratio) to put on it for crankbaits. Thinking of SLX XT, but still trying to decide. Always look forward to your new videos! 😁👍
I never had luck using square bill lures until I read about Fred Young that made Big O lures back in the seventies; he taught Rick Clunn how he used his. Hold the rod tip low and reel it as fast as you can. I use an old medium action seven foot six cranking rod. I seldom set the hook because you don’t need too. I keep my drag set to slip at 3 or 4 pounds and leave it. Then just cast; and reel like your late for supper. Mostly I use 12 pound fluorocarbon and retie when I get tired for a brake. There is no wondering when a Bass hits it; because most times they explode out of the water. Having the rod tip low makes it harder for them to spit the lure. If a big Bass hits it your drag will save it from breaking off. It works in cold water just the same as warm. Stripers in spring; will hit so hard you will wonder why your rod didn’t break. Then; they take off like a firetruck headed for a fire. You might forget about frog fishing quickly when a square bill bite is on. I started using single in line hooks to save time unhooking fish and they work just as good as trebles do. I don’t worry if their hitting rocks or not. Bass will eat them in open water too. Little ones are killers for river Smallmouth. Nothing complicated doing this.
Loved the green branch analogy. I was laughing the entire time remembering all the trees I have hooked. I like both kinds of painting videos I dont always want to see long ones when it is same lure same technique but I do like watching because I would love to be able to do it myself.
Love the square Bill first treble hook I fell In love with when I became a beginner again last year after several years off .... love the vids ... do what ever vids you want ... you’re gonna get the view either way ....
Haven't used a square I'll before but this year I am hoping to do a lot more fishing. Love your videos. I would really enjoy a lure from you. Thanks for the videos.
I actually like the quick rundown of the painting but you definitely have true skills sir. I most definitely love to have a custom Debo painted crankbait !!!!
Thx for the tips and info. This type of vid was good keep em goin. Who disliked tho? Comin up on 100k man, can't wait to see the channel grow substantially.
Debo Sensei!!! Its amazing how much information you put in this video and how easy it was to understand everything!!! Keep up the amazing work man!!! 👊🤟
I really liked the quick painting part but the in depth videos are cool too. Those crappie patterns look like they would work great in some of these Iowa waters. It would be really cool to see ya start a video with that and then follow up with a video throwing that same lure. This was just the video I needed! Trying to get everything ready and round out my arsenal for the year. Im picking up a Lews KVD 7'1" cranking rod for lipless cranks and chatterbaits. I may need to pick up a few square bills too. Thanks for another great video!
I enjoy some of the in between length painting vids... i like when they have enough details i can understand whats happening and what your going for but not to long and not to short
I am so impressed with your painting skills. I don't have an artistic bone in my body, and I can't imagine myself ever painting lures that look even half as good as yours. Those crappie paint schemes look really neat and I would love to have one. Thank you again for all the tips. I didn't grow up with any fisherman in my family and I've picked up most of my knowledge from good ol' UA-cam university. I've learned so much from you and other content creators, and I can't thank you enough.
Debo What about a video about your airbrush paints , Stencils, and all the equipment that you use from start to finish when doing crank baits. I really enjoy your videos and how in depth you go into them, believe it or not I’m sure there’s a lot of people out there like me I would really enjoy to see that video. I’m starting to paint crank baits as well and really would like to see how DEBO does it !🎣🎨
I love squarebills because the smallies and walleyes in my local fisheries love 'em! I need more squarebills that would work in my local ponds, because I'm sure the bucket mouths would love them too!
Man you are the fishing sensei, I really appreciate how you take the time to explain everything. Best channel out there for sure. Thanks Debo for passing all your knowledge to us.
I would like to see full length painting vids as well as some suggestions of where you find quality blanks. I would like to start painting some myself and the extra info would be awesome.
I think I would like to see some lure painting videos. They do seem to be pretty neat to watch. I don't have any tools to do that myself but it does seem like it would be fun for future hobbies or projects. I do like the paint job you did on the crank bait in this video. I would use it quite a bit if I were to win it. Your work on the crank bait here looks much better than many of the store bought versions. Thanks for the hard work on the video.
Another great video Debo, I would really like to win the square bill for two reasons, #1 I love throwing a square bill around wood , #2 I would really like to have a custom painted Debo square bill . I like the short painting videos . This is my favorite type Video you do, is the way you break down exactly how you should face each lure. Keep up the great work
Lipless cranks are underrated IMO. I hope you can paint some lipless cranks as well. Also get different lipless blanks. Would love to see you fish more lipless. You can also paint jerkbaits as well!! Another deadly lure.
I'm down with the occasional full length painting videos. The quick ones are nice too, but mixing it up is nice. That's a great crappie squarebill you painted btw.
Love the video bro lots of great info! Would be super stoked to have that crappie squarebill! Keep up the great content! Also I have a Sixgill MH Khimera that I use for cranking and its amazing!

Perfect timing on this video Debo. Just got a St Croix BASSX MH moderate 7’ 2” rod and have been trying to decide what reel (and ratio) to put on it for crankbaits. Thinking of SLX XT, but still trying to decide. Always look forward to your new videos! 😁👍
