Suffix 832 in Moss Green. 30 pound braid on both Spinning and Baitcaster reel's. Smooth casting, Tough, Color stays for a long time. Your Largemouth PB wont get away. Bang for your Buck! Shawn.
I use a 20 lb braid which is the same size as 8 lb mono and put an 8 or 10 lb leader on my spinning combos . I use 15 lb on all my baitcasters except my frogin rod. I put 50 lb braid on it. I recommend KVD Line and Lure spray for mono and flouro it really helps out a lot especially if you put it on the night before you go fishing. 👍👊
Thanks for the info .. I been out of the fishing game for close to 35 years and just now getting back to it..and I have no idea what I'm doing if its not a worm and bobber...but your videos are helping me to get it figured out. Keep up the good work.
Your mention of the line, Rod, lure series sounds like a great idea. While fishing can be as simple as a cane pole, line, hook and bobber, it can also quite specific and detailed. I’m a lifelong learner and you’ve been quite helpful to both me and my son. We’d appreciate that series of videos. 👍🏻😁 Thanks, Mr. Debo!
It’s like you can tell there his without seeing the name .... I hope he realizes how easy and fun he is to watch .... watch so many others and get bored in the first 2 min I’ve watched some of his multiple times.... just because
I love your channel. Literally the most informative fishing channel on UA-cam. I wish I lived close to Iowa I'd absolutely love to pick your brain and fish with you. Keep up the great content. Thanks Debo!
Hey Debo: great insights; you are obviously enthusiastic and a good teacher. One booboo you made was at 12:50 when you compared line diameters. Doesn't matter; we get the point: for any given strength, braid has much smaller diameter than other lines of same strength.
Good evening Mr. Debo's Fishing, I am TRUELY IMPRESSED by your Knowledge of the different types of Fishing lines and their applications my Friend! I have been hesiatant of using braided lines in the past due to there abillity to cut into the guides of the rods I'd be using. Thank you for debunking this issue and giving me a senseof reassurance when joining to a fluorcarbon or mono leader. 🙂I Enjoy ALL of your video's my Fishing Friend! LOL! Keep a Tight Line and May God Bless you and Your Familiy! Sincerely, Mr. Carl J. Gwizdala aka "Desperado." LOL!
Good video. Excellent point. Actual research has shown that fluoro is less abrasion resistant than mono. I have found that fluoro is especially difficult to manage in cold water. And, unlike mono, the stretch you get in fluoro actually permanently damages the line (weakening it). It is not as elastic - the taffy effect. Just a few thoughts and observations. Appreciate your channel.
That's a good dog. And thanks for this video. I was going to buy some new line in the next few weeks and wasnt sure what I should get. This cleared it all up for me. Thanks Debo.
I should have watched this before I put line on my new baitcaster this morning. Just strung up fluoro and then tied a walking bait on it, woops..gonna change it out for a square bill before fishing tm morning. Fantastic video as always Mr. Debo!
All Power Pro does is knot up on the reel. Loses color really fast. Casts like crap! Always binds up on the spool. Constantly fixing back lashes with Power Pro braid. Suffix 832 fixed all these issues. Give it a try. Comes in 300 yard spools too. Shawn.
Class is in session and Professor Debo schooling us. As a novice, I appreciate the simplicity and thorough explanation of your content! Keep doing what you’re doing!
Great job of explaining the differences. You saved a lot of guys a lot of money. Experimenting is a great learning tool but line is expensive. Thanks 👍
DEBOS FISHING is my favorite fishing channel, there is just somthing about the way he explains things, like getting advice from a buddy or somthing. Idk..I Guess the "Blue Collar" type of guy..
Very difficult topic but Debo nailed it. This is like an ultimate guide to fishing line. I agree 99% with Debo. But I use braid to leader for everything.
I have to save this vid so I can refer back to it in the spring. I am going to buy one more bait caster and one more spinning combo. This will help me when I decide to put line on them. Top notch information. 😉
Been watching the storm videos, Hope ya'll are safe and staying warm. Looks like a good time for maintenance on some reels and sharpening some hooks. We'll be here. 🎣👍😊😎🇺🇲🎣
I recently got a 7ft medium moderate Cranking rod And I paired it with an Abu Garcia Revo X. Right now I have some 12lb mono on it It's my first cranking setup So I have high hopes to try it This spring. If you have any advice I'm open to hear it You're my favorite Fishing channel And your advice has helped me catch many fish Look forward to seeing more videos!
Funny, I have that rod/reel combo in my cart right now, deciding what weight line to buy. I may be going up north into barramundi country, so I'm thinking 30lb braid and 20lb floor leader.
Talking about line today. Good subject. As you know,.... I wasn't a braided line fan at all. Now, that's changed. The first observation...... your knot!!!! Got to have a good knot. I came up with a variation of the FG knot. But what really does matter more is the fact that the knot you use for your leader needs to flow through the eyelets of the guides on the rod not knock or stick during a cast. That can cause you to lose insulators from your guides. It'll also cost you a big fish. So knots are important. Mono vs Fluorocarbon....... really have to agree with you on it. Mono for topwater is a must. Fluorocarbon has virtually no stretch at all. Hooksets will give on mono but not with Fluorocarbon. Fluorocarbon does tend to have knot issues also so you have to come up with a good knot for sure. Good tutorial 👊👊. Not a beginner by no means but I'm always learning something in this sport nearly everytime I go. Thank you Debo
Awesome info Debo, there are so many different knots you can use. Would be cool to see different knots for different applications. Like tying on leaders etc. 👊
If you’re sold on flourocarbon I would highly highly recommend the floroclear he mentioned in the video... it has the invisibility, abrasion resistance and low stretch without the memory issues and higher cost 👍🏼
I’m with you on most of those points Debo. I usually use mono now only for trolling, floro for leaders, and switching everything to braid, baitcasters or spinners
I have one reel with straight flouro for cranking and braid to a leader for everything else. I have done braid to a short mono leader for walking baits. I may start running more flouro after this though
Thanks again for another solid video. I like the pairing videos were you break down what you throw and the equipment you would use. Keep up the great work...I am looking forward to the next live stream!
Debo, Mr. Stubbs is a classy dude. Lucky dog to get adopted by your family. Seems like the right dog for the family. You did not touch upon co-poly lines. I have become a big fan this past year. I find most Fluoro too stiff, like using wire. The co-poly is the best of both worlds.
I'm still fairly new to your channel....and to fishing in general. I'd love to see you start up again with the 'hook, line, rod & reel' you mentioned for each type of fishing you do. I find your channel one of the very best out there for newbies such as myself. Thanx so much!
As a new guy to using a bait caster, I was told or advised to use braid 20-60 lbs. my pole is 7’9” heavy fast. My reel is a 6.4 abu Garcia low pro. I managed to back lash just loading up the reel itself.
cool to see Mr STUBBS!! another very helpful video DEBO!! i use that trilene xl mono 12lb, the berkley big game 20lb( for catfishing) , berkley vanish 12lb fluoro, and powerproV2 30lb braid.
Funny Debo you’re a fluorocarbon purest like I’m a braid purest I just change the leader just have to laugh we all have our way keep up the GREAT JOB!!! Jim from Norfolk, Ne.
Line is something in fishing that there are a few “rules” to like braid for frogging or punching, or mono for top water and cranks. Other than that it is to each his own. Personally, I don’t have any frogging water near me and I am currently boatless, I use only mono. 4-8 lb on spinning, and 12 lb on all my casting rods. I have tried straight florocarbon and didn’t like it. I might try the braid to floro leader on spinning rods and see if it helps detect more bites on finesse baits. Thanks for the tips Debo.
I spooled it with 8 LB test mono for lighter lures, gave it some practice casts and found that it did cast well ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e , except that the anti-backlash setting had to be turned up almost all of the way to keep the "overcasts' ' down. I disassembled it, and found that if I potted some "shim washers" behind that anti-backlash magnet assembly, it got the magnets closer to the spool without rubbing, and I could get better control with about a 6 to 7 out out 10-Max setting. I also noticed that the handle shaft had some internal end play, maybe only 2 or 3 thousands of an inch, but it's still noticeable. If the anti-backlash and shaft tolerances were "tightened up" this would be a fantastic value. I've only used it for 4 days of fishing in a month's time, but I plan on keeping it.
SUPER informative Debo!! This was a perfectly timed video to give those of us that don't ice fish some things to do with our equipment. Other than wandering the house pretending to cast🤦♂️😆😆 Keep up the great work! Great video brother
I've used the FG knot and tie super long leaders on braid and don't get that many wind knots, usually just when I'm hitting a pylon or something or casting into heavy wind.
Great video as always. I have started using Zebcos Cajun Red mono. Its pretty cheap and I just love it.. I started using baitcasters with braid before mono. My advice for that is things called placards. They are basically plastic toothpicks. They have them in packs of hundreds at dollar stores. It makes picking out backlash much easier. When you mention braid digging in...absolutely do not try to force a backlash stop with ant force! It will definitely bury in and become almost impossible to fix. I've started using mono on one now and its basically learn the baitcaster all over again. Just don't be afraid folks. Backlash and snags are a big part of our hobby. If course the random person that sees you snag that tree will cut a joke but its nothing to be embarrassed about lol
LUV UR VIDS!! OK, yea, I've posted a similar comment elsewhere but I love to teach & share WHAT WORKS from decades of doin it. My gear, forever, has been quality but basic Baitcasters (NEVER over 100 bux) (Abu's, Diawa's, Shimano's etc...) 5'6" med/heavy rods (Ugly sticks etc...) And ALWAYS mono! Actually, ALWAYS 14 lb. mono. Thousands of Bass. Countless bigguns over 5 lbs. And a 14.5 lb lunker caught using a "secret" worm technique. (And many FAT Catfish & a 5'7" Carp that I had to lay on the bank to drag in.) Mono has simply been the most versatile line for me. Texaa riggin to top water where I bend the bill of a black Jitterbug with pliers a certain way to get a better "chug" sound for night fishin. (Nothing more fun!!) Yea, times & tackle have changed over the years (you guys call a 7 or 8 foot stick a "fishin pole!") But don't discount what made Bill Dance & Roland Martin MILLIONAIRES back in the day!! Lastly... You're bank fishing with heavy brush & overhead tree branches. Or, you see fairly close "hidey places" in the water. What do you want? A 7 or 8 foot stick? Or a precise 5'6" maneuverable FISHIN pole?? 'Nuff said!! Tight lines guys!!
I loved the hook rod line relation videos!!! So informative. Also would love to see SLX DC review with the tackle warehouse bag review but it's fine debo hahaha lol JK bro keep it up love the content !!
This man has quickly become one of my favorites
Appreciate that a lot man!
Love Debo's approach, flat tells you he doesn't know everything, but will share everything he knows.
Sooo True DEBO'S A GREAT TEACHER

Getting ready for pre-spawn. Debo is helping me
I’m switching back to monofilament after use my braided line for several years. I guess I’m still old school in the long run.
Thanks for lining things up for us. Lol. Setting us straight and hooking up some knowledge. Good video Debo.
I saw someone checking the difference in stretch between mono and fluorocarbon, and surprisingly there were only about 2 inches difference.
Really needed this. Didn’t know there were any differences. Thanks man!
Is it just me or is Debos thumbnail pictures really satisfying

@@ericmorton9567 It always feels like Debo is talking to us rather than talking at us if that makes sense. Great explanations with minimal ego.
I love the new layout. Looks like you're on a fishing throne.

I like the knowledge videos like this. I'd like more of those rod-reel-line videos too.
It's funny that u uploaded this vid because I just got my first casting combo the other day. Thx for the tips.
That is the best dog EVER! Damn you got lucky with him. Great video man!👊
He's my dude! 🐕
My father gave me 30-50 lb braid in my first bait caster and it was genius. Strong enough to get most lures unstuck and casts great.
Great breakdown! You lucked out with Mr. Stubbs super chill dog!
I can't stop watching DEBO.. One of the best 👌 on utube
Means the world to me man!

Hi DEBO, Great job !!! I really needed this right now. Great Help. You are the best.
Perfect timing DEBO! just got my birthday present (Curado K and st croix Mojo bass rod) on the fence between fluoride and braid
Going with fluoro as this’ll be my spinner bait/ mid-water column rod
What’s up deboooo I immediately click when I get a notification for one of your vids😁
I have to save this vid so I can refer back to it in the spring. I am going to buy one more bait caster and one more spinning combo. This will help me when I decide to put line on them. Top notch information. 😉

Well I WAS watching Diners, Drive-ins and Dives but then I got a Debo notification so here I am....
Worth it. DD&D has been to my town. Show made food seem amazing. Reality was food was garbage. This video is the opposite :)
I recently got a 7ft medium moderate Cranking rod And I paired it with an Abu Garcia Revo X. Id recommend braid for first timer

Hey Debo, could you do a tour of all your different set-ups and what you use it for. Love the videbo!
I’m with you on most of those points Debo. I usually use mono now only for trolling, floro for leaders, and switching everything to braid, baitcasters or spinners
Yes a True “Renaissance Man” his advice has helped me immensely get back into Fishing after off for 2 Decades a lot easier and I’m truly grateful…
Perfect information as I'm thinking about refreshing line for spring
Video on your favorite knots would be cool to watch.
I enjoyed this video! Gave it the thumbs up! 👍🏻
Debo you are my info man to a fishing question. You are very knowledgeable.
Thanks for the tips. I would like to see more videos like this.
The greatest teacher for feeshing!!
How does he know everything I need every time I’m thinking it
I literally was about to comment the same thing 😂
I have one reel with straight flouro for cranking and braid to a leader for everything else. I have done braid to a short mono leader for walking baits. I may start running more flouro after this though
I took your advice earlier on using braid on spinning reels. Great advice. Thanks.
Such a cute and good dog. Awesome tips on fishing line.
Very helpful, need to start the video over and take notes!!
Great video man! No matter a beginner or pro some awesome info!
Thank you for sharing your observations with us Debo much appreciated
Great j breaking down the differences. What and when. Doing the braid to fluro this year.
For tying knots, Trilene XL is my favorite.
Easy to understand. Quick to information. Everything I needed to know. Thanks again man!
Thanks again for another solid video. I like the pairing videos were you break down what you throw and the equipment you would use. Keep up the great work...I am looking forward to the next live stream!
Really appreciate these kind of videos. Would appreciate more specifics (brand/size) for specific applications (ned, neko, Texas etc).
Debo,
Mr. Stubbs is a classy dude. Lucky dog to get adopted by your family. Seems like the right dog for the family. You did not touch upon co-poly lines. I have become a big fan this past year. I find most Fluoro too stiff, like using wire. The co-poly is the best of both worlds.

I'm going to do one this week! Thanks so much for watching +
As a new guy to using a bait caster, I was told or advised to use braid 20-60 lbs. my pole is 7’9” heavy fast. My reel is a 6.4 abu Garcia low pro. I managed to back lash just loading up the reel itself.
Great video man!!! Thanks for the shout out!!! 👊
For sure, thanks for watching and supporting!
cool to see Mr STUBBS!! another very helpful video DEBO!! i use that trilene xl mono 12lb, the berkley big game 20lb( for catfishing) , berkley vanish 12lb fluoro, and powerproV2 30lb braid.
I use 12Ib fluorocarbon, Pline, floro clear is awsome!!!
Thanks, Debo! Great info as always...still new to it all so the more I hear, hopefully the better my game will become!
The river by my house here in Michigan has a lot of sandstone chunks as well as laydowns and brush piles. Great small mouth though
First time watching but the knowledge is amazing 👏 🤙
Funny Debo you’re a fluorocarbon purest like I’m a braid purest I just change the leader just have to laugh we all have our way keep up the GREAT JOB!!! Jim from Norfolk, Ne.
Braid all the way! Powerpro or 832. I’ll use a copolymer leader if I’m fishing gin clear water or thick mono leader for top water
Great video Debo. Makes me wanna re-spool all my reels.
I always get excited for a new viDEBO
😂
I appreciate that a lot man!
SUPER informative Debo!! This was a perfectly timed video to give those of us that don't ice fish some things to do with our equipment. Other than wandering the house pretending to cast🤦♂️😆😆 Keep up the great work! Great video brother
i used 20lb braid to a 12lb trilene xl clear leader so much last year. it was my go to unless thw water was super clear.
Very informative video. Surprised you don't have more subscribers.
I've used the FG knot and tie super long leaders on braid and don't get that many wind knots, usually just when I'm hitting a pylon or something or casting into heavy wind.
Braid to leader here. I suggest learning an FG knot. I did a couple years ago and never looked back. Thank's Debo 👍
Thats a beautiful dog debo..great tips i agree with your decisions 100%
Great video Debo, thanks for the info 👍👍👍.
Nigel ( Chicago )
Agree with braid if u get a backlash gota find the loop learned that from one of your old videos

What did you get?
This helps so much dude.. thanks especially how you break it down.
Thanks Debo!! I appreciate your work! You help eliminate the second guessing in my game.
I loved the hook rod line relation videos!!! So informative. Also would love to see SLX DC review with the tackle warehouse bag review but it's fine debo hahaha lol JK bro keep it up love the content !!
Thanks man. Would be good to hear why you choose braid to leader. What is the benefit of the leader.
