I enjoyed your tour and super interested in seeing Tracy re do the chairs and plant her garden and cooking. I love to watch homesteading. Please continue to show us the process.
Such fun to see the place & hear all your plans! Yes, you'll need 3 lifetimes but it's about the journey here, more than the destination. And I absolutely insist that you need a Juliet bathroom somewhere! "Oh bidet, bidet, wherefore art thou, bidet?" The balcony thing would be nice, too!
Yrs we totally agree with you vintage lady we are so fortunate that we have such wonderful views from each side of the farmhouse and the Juliet balcony will he perfect 🤗❤
The Forge is amazing and look forward to the Aga going in. Shame the beams are no good. Barn doors a great idea. I just love all the pointing and yes Tracey you are the Pointing Queen 🤴 Thanks for showing us the plan of your lovely home
I love that you're keeping the spaces separate! Some people would be blowing out walls to make it wide open🙁. I love that there will be places to go for quiet time and rooms that are just one thing and not multi use noisy rooms. Can you tell l crave quiet😊. That forge is spectacular. What a piece to preserve and protect! Perfect for the Aga. I'm excited to watch the continued transformation of this corner of French history.👍🇨🇦
Yay! Budo says we’re gonna have 2+ years of videos detailing their lovely farmhouse remodel! Can’t wait! You’re both so talented and have done so much work already. It is going to be gorgeous. Thank you so much for sharing❣️
You've done so much work! The re-pointed interior walls look fantastic, Tracy (or is it Tracey), a really great look. Those outside walls look at least a foot thick, hard to tell on camera. I can't wait to see each episode. You both come across as completely genuine, dedicate to restoring the old farm house to its former glory, preserving the history, while making it fit for today's living. I love your channel. Thanks for sharing.
OMG! You're the door man for Ash and Terry. This should be good. So glad ya'll have a vlog! I'm more farmhouse oriented. I have one in the US that I'm doing myself. So far love the exposed stones...just the right amount for my taste. Can't wait to see what you do. So glad I found ya'll.
So beautiful with so much potential and armed with your combined skills and imagination it will be a home of homes .. look forward to watching it all. Bravo well done 👍🏻 🇮🇪
Thank you for such a lovely video, you are an amazing couple and love watching and seeing what you are doing. Thanks for taking us along on your journey! The lime plaster with the exposed granite is so beautiful...looks wonderful!! You are certainly a man of many trades and very professional!! Very exiting to watch and very happy for the both of you, this is and will be a lovely home once complete. Well done!! Love from Canada xo
Amazing...you've made so much progress. Thank you for the tour, looking for to more. It's looking great so far and will be wonderful when done. So excited to watch as you go. Love Tracy's pointing.
The introduction to your video is just spectacular!!! 😃 😃 Thank you very much for sharing your renovation skills, which is truly amazing !!! 👍 I also learn so many practical lessons from your videos!!! 👍
Really glad I found yours and Chateaux La Lacelles channel. You are living our dream and we plan to be doing it ourselves in years to come, so really pleased to be sharing your journey and picking up tips! Our best wishes to you both on your new life and adventure.
That house will be so beautiful by the time you've finished with it. Thanks for sharing the journey with us. I have come across from Escape to the Dream. Good stuff happening there too. So great to see you all sharing your talents with each other. Especially nice for those of us who are a bit too old to scramble around a building site these days.
This is our dream. The French farmhouse with land. We are a few years off being able to make that jump, however we'll keep a close eye on how you guys get on over the coming years. All the best and can't wait to see how it turns out.P.S. the workshop is definitely my favourite part hahaha..
Thank you so much Scott hopefully watching us will keep the dream going for you and your family and you will enjoy our Journey 😍 and there will be lots more videos in the workshop doing Carpentry 😊
By the look of the ivy growing on the inside wall I assume it was ones a derelict building crumbling down with age and neglect. What a wonderful work you are doing guys, saving this old house from its misery. It's already promising to be a beautiful, warm and comfortable home full of old cottage charm. Wishing you the very best in achieving your goal and looking forward to seeing more videos.
Tracy, your pointing is amazing! Thanks for the tour. You've already accomplished so much. I'm sure you're looking forward to when the fun parts begin and you can work on finishes and decorating. Thanks for taking us along for the adventure.
Hi guys - watching you from Albany, Western Australia, and am awe struck by your combined skills. Love the property and your plans. Good luck and please keep the updates coming!
What a wonderful tour with great dreams of a most stylish home. You two have a natural talent for video. You are comfortable as are neighbors or old friends. Charming.
I am new to your channel and have to say I'm thoroughly enjoying it! Your very hard working and talented. I find it so amazing the work that you folks from London coming to France accomplish in such short time spans. It is just so much fun to see all of you bring back the ruins of all these gorgeous buildings. Crack on and God speed to y'all from across the pond.
Brilliant. Well done guys. You don’t need to keep apologising for caravan corner or your filming. You are doing so well and it is super to see and hear what your plans. See you soon for your next update. 👏👏
Hi guys from Nova Scotia, Canada. We found your vlog a few days ago and caught up on all the videos, thoroughly enjoying them all. You’re doing an amazing job in such a short time. Loved the one with training on the digger, it gave us lots of laughs. Well done. Now I want one. Also love the way you explain the process of what you’re doing and thanks for the tour of the farmhouse. Can’t wait to see the rest. It’s all going to be beautiful when it’s finished. You are both doing such professional work. Keep em coming. Take care.
You two are such hard workers! Love that we can follow your work on your farmhouse. It is wonderful that you found a place to fit your needs and that both of you bring skills to the job. Watching from Texas, USA.
A wonderful adventure ahead of you. Will be most interesting watching your progress. I would be daunted by all the work. So happy tolling as the winter approaches.
When you are describing an area, I do appreciate it when you include both what things are called in France as well as what they are more commonly known as. I have watched more than one video recently which included tours of the French kitchens, and they kept referring to the piano. Since I was relatively sure there was not a piano in the room, I was quite confused. I finally looked it up and found that the range area can also be called a piano in France. So as you can see, it is quite helpful to those of us from different countries if things are clarified.
@@FrenchFarmhouseDiaries I just copied this sentence from an article. It is talking about a restaurant, but there are a few channels I watch on UA-cam where the home kitchen where they use the term when referring to the home kitchen. “Earlier cooks would recognize little in the modern French restaurant except for maybe the piano, the large stove in the center of the cooking area. Much of the rest, including the layout is quite different from what was used in the past.”
Hi Budo and Tracy, gosh I feel worn out just watching this video, I am sure I have watched it before, but it is good to go back and watch again to get a better perspective of what you are doing and what you have already done. Your house will be spectacular ( don’t like to say I am looking forward to when it is finished as I think it pure vloggers under pressure). So onward and upwards, so I enjoying your progress vidios , Budo you are a one man industry so skilled and great to watch, and you Tracy you work so hard xx
Melbourne calling Tracy and Bud - just watched your awesome video, we are amazed how talented you both are with the ability to adapt to all the trades and skills required to bring this property back to life. We have enjoyed going through your video’s to see the progression to date. Great job you two - we look forward to following you on your journey, thank you for the opportunity. Best wishes Norma and David.
Thank you, I have followed you on Instagram for quite awhile! Seeing the bigger picture, shows all the work and inspiration that you are working on. Your cottage is going to be cozy and beautiful when all is done. In these times projects are so good to have!🇨🇦❤️Tracey love your craft room to be, good idea to have spaces of our own to create.
Ah thank you Kelly for following our journey on Instagram as well as on here we only want to give out positive vibes after all the world problems we have all had to contend with all the best Budo
So many wonderful things I wanted to comment on but there are so many I couldn't remember them all haha! All of the pointing looks incredible! I also love the rooms that will keep the vaulted ceilings and original beams in them. I wonder why the ceilings in the front room are so low. I wish we had homes like this in America but it just seems like we don't have these beautiful styles of buildings here. Everything here is just very common with not as much history and character. This is the first time I've seen your channel and I'm so excited to follow your journey!
Thank you so much Kimberly we are glad you have started following us and you are enjoying our vlogs. There are some beautiful properties here in France from farmhouses to maison de Maitre to chateaus 🤗🙏
Ahhhh, now the penny has dropped, from where your face is familiar from Hugo. You reconstructed their(Terry and Ash) doors!Fantastic job by the way. Do love the DIY.
Where do you get the energy? You all habe already done an amazing amount of work - it is going to be beautiful! Fun to see all your talents bring the place back to life. Thankd so much for sharing. From Virginia, USA
Great vlog … give Tracy her crown … her pointing is beautiful! You two amaze me. I’m probably repeating myself from previous comments but I just continue to marvel at the stamina you both have and great progress you’ve made in such a short time. The farmhouse, (which I consider an understatement), is too quaint and charming to be labeled as just a farmhouse. Budo, your carpentry/joiner skills are spot on and exactly what this “farmhouse” needed to turn it into a mini-chateau-cum-quaint-cottage. (My own interpretation of architectural verbiage). Ahem! Also Budo, I love your accent… and with the help of closed captioning, I think you were saying about the old forge that the man was a NAIL MAKER. Is that correct? No offense, as I think it’s charming but I’m still getting used to these accents. Don’t wish to ramble on but I think you and Tracy are a lovely combination of skills and your vision for this home is remarkable. Cheering you onto your goal from PA, USA.
Thank you Paula yes my accent is east end London uk and Tracy is west end London you are correct on the nail makers home and thank you for your kind words we are very happy you can join us too
Looks like it’s going to be charming and cozy . You’ve accomplished a lot already rebuilding floors is gruelling work my husband and I renovated 2 old brick houses and I know all about joists etc . My favourite part was insulating the oldies and thinking about how previous owners must have been so darn cold . Wondering how long you’ve been there ?
Thank you for this.I'm looking forward even more to watching your progress after seeing this tour. The filming of the countryside at the start was lovely. What a big project but you don't seem daunted by it at all. Oh to have acquired your skills. You seem to complement each other well :-)
Just clocked who you are and why I got this in the recommended! I’ll subscribe because it’s lovely to see braver people than my husband who doesn’t want to live in France because of the language. Also to see the links with the different houses and the the renovations. Well done as you are obviously very good at what you are doing. The lifestyle will hopefully be exactly what you want for yourselves eventually.
Thank you Amaya yes the language is difficult I did not have a word of French but I can now ask for things like bread food as well as hellos and good byes and basic stuff and thats me talking Budo so if I can do it I am sure your husband can its about trying and giving the process ago it soon comes, thanks for joining us
What a mammoth task, it’s been a well worth job done so far, fantastic when completed, I shall enjoy your journey, thank you for sharing. Nice chairs. WCL
Love all the pointing. Beautiful job! And also the rendering and the way you kept the key stones. Lovely! Looking forward to catching up on all the videos. I love all the ideas you have for this lovely farmhouse. Cheers from Ottawa, Canada!
Wow! Its great seeing what your plans are and how much work you have already done. Fasinated by the different sizes of stone/granite on the exterior front - gives it such character. Its going to be wonderful and I will enjoy sharing your journey from the other side of the world in New Zealand. Bees, Lavender, fresh produce etc living the dream. Thanks for keeping us entertained and making us dream of doing something different.
Thanks for the tour, love you Farmhouse ! The chairs and kitchen China cabinet(?) Are perfect. You might think about a daybed in your craft room. A wonderful home you 2 are making.
Thank you we are glad you enjoyed the tour and that's a great idea and i cannot wait to fill the china cabinet with all my beautiful blue and white china l have collected over the years
What a charming home you have created, it's going to be beautiful. And you are right, we need 3 life-times to live our lives. In a blink of an eye and it's over, or is it? I'm looking forward to forever. Wink.
Wow you are not afraid of work! Can’t believe what you have accomplished so far. Really looking forward to watching the progress along with cooking, crafts and gardening 👩🌾 thank you for sharing. Xx
It's wonderful, I can see how you like the place. Good to see where you started from, where you're at and where you're going. This is actually the best tour video I've seen, in terms of carefully orienting your viewer. Thanks. I'm still dizzy from the other ones and still don't understand where stuff is. I really have the picture of your interior, though. Good work. Big fan of repointing, lime plaster, window and door making. Can't wait.
Hello from Chicago Illinois USA, the farmhouse is beautiful, you’re doing a great job love watching you guys not sure how old you are I think we’re about the same age and I love your energy and what you’re doing keep up the good work
Hi Sonia we are in our early mid 50s and have only half the energy we used to have but are forging ahead and enjoying our lives hope you enjoy our vlogs and welcome 😘💐🙏
Thank you! I love caravan corner, you sharing your plans, hopes a dreams. Wonderful tour! It's beautiful and will be wonderfully beautiful when You're through! 👍👍
Wow! That farmhouse is like a tardis. Much more room than I expected. I cant wait to see it done. Will you be restoring or putting a wood heater in the front room?
Loved the tour of the future home. My GOODNESS you have a lot of work ahead of you. I admire your courage to take on such a huge project. And I wonder why so many grits are moving to France doing this sort of thing. Because you need real grit to get all that you have shown in some sort of order. But as my dad used to say that will keep you out of trouble for a long time. Why did you not buy such a property in England and do the same. I would love an answer to that. Take care both of you look after yourselves as well. Till next video. Will be interesting to see how it will turn out. 👍🌻
Hi Marchje thank you for your question the answer is in the UK you can not find any renovations like this they have all been done many years ago and now house prices are some of the highest in the world this property we bought here in France was the price of say a new Land rover in the UK it would have cost over twenty times more if you could find one then ten times more to complete so would of cost around 1.5 million or more also France has some very beautiful country side still and wonderful people hope this helps all the best Budo👍🙏
WOW, so much work to do but you have well and truly made a start. Subscribed after I saw you on Terry & Ash's channel - really looking forward to following your journey
Thanks for the interior of the farmhouse tour. Very interesting and is going to be beautiful. I know you are excited about it. Looking forward to each phase of your hard work. Janice from Arkansas USA
Thank you so much for the tour. I feel better connected to the project and able to visualize what and where you are working in the grand scheme of things.
Wow, you sure HAVE done a lot already ! I particularly love your bedroom area. One thing comes to mind. Make sure you are aware of any various inspections for electricity , construction, fire potential and plumbing. You don't want to get so far along and find that codes are not met.Looks like the roof might need replacing too. The walls are smashing. What area of France are you in ? I would love a tour of your land too.
Hi James we are in the Normandy area not from were the brits and Canadians landed the land tour will be coming in a couple of videos time buddy thanks for watching our journey
I enjoyed that. Good to get an overview of the whole house.
I enjoyed your tour and super interested in seeing

Ah thank you we will do
Lovely tour! I’m so excited to watch more videos!

I stumbled across mr bloke and saw you on there… now I’m catching up, love it all so far, you’re amazing…love the caravan corner!
Hi Louise and welcome theres lots there for you to watch hope you enjoy and thank you 😘🥰
Looks like it’s going to be charming and cozy . You’ve accomplished a lot already rebuilding floors is gruelling work my husband and I renovated 2 old brick houses and I know all about joists etc . My favourite part was insulating the oldies and thinking about how previous owners must have been so darn cold . Wondering how long you’ve been there ?
We have been in the Farmhouse for 1 year but could,nt do alot in the first 5 months because of covid . thank you
You are both very talented, can’t wait to share your journey. The cottage is very pretty with lots of character. Best wishes from Australia
Thank you Yvonne all way from OZ

Thank you for this.I'm looking forward even more to watching your progress after seeing this tour. The filming of the countryside at the start was lovely. What a big project but you don't seem daunted by it at all. Oh to have acquired your skills. You seem to complement each other well :-)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow ! Lots of work but will be so lovely.
I can’t wait to see all your progress .
thank you betty
Lovely finding one I haven’t viewed. Always a treat.
So glad it is Jean 🤗🎃
WCL

Thank you kindly gudrunasche and you are very welcome 🙏 and we are so glad you are enjoying our videos

Can't wait.
Thank you so much Jeanette so glad you enjoyed the tour and you can visualise how the ending will look 😀 Happy new year to you 😃

Wow! That farmhouse is like a tardis. Much more room than I expected. I cant wait to see it done. Will you be restoring or putting a wood heater in the front room?
HI Naomi yes we have a large woodburner on order and thank you for joining our journey
Amazing sunrise, beautiful landscape, good choice to renovate your new home there
The views are endless here Lisa glad you have joined us
WOW, so much work to do but you have well and truly made a start. Subscribed after I saw you on Terry & Ash's channel - really looking forward to following your journey

Ah thank you Gem glad you have joined us
Great work is been done by the two of you .love the stone work.part of the enjoyment is getting there. Dolores from Dublin.
Thank you very much Dolores glad you have joined our journey
Wow, you sure HAVE done a lot already ! I particularly love your bedroom area. One thing comes to mind. Make sure you are aware of any various inspections for electricity , construction, fire potential and plumbing. You don't want to get so far along and find that codes are not met.Looks like the roof might need replacing too. The walls are smashing. What area of France are you in ? I would love a tour of your land too.
Hi James we are in the Normandy area not from were the brits and Canadians landed the land tour will be coming in a couple of videos time buddy thanks for watching our journey
