Il y a beaucoup de poésie dans cette pièce : la lumière douce qui entre par les fenêtres, la verdure dans le jardin, les couleurs tamisées, les meubles anciens en bois foncé et ce magnifique miroir ovale.
I love the room - sometimes less is more and it looks very peaceful and relaxing - maybe a new light fitting as you say in time you can’t always find just the right thing but I think it’s looking lovely thank you for sharing ❤
Pruning the overgrowth on the wall does make the light come it..leaving it to it’s own devices can make the job so much harder the longer it is left..the weather looks pretty amazing..happy days..☀️🐝☀️
Agreed, last year was our first year experiencing wisteria and we were unsure about its care. The previous owner’s gardener told us that it was rarely cut in 60 years. So you can imagine our hesitation when we moved in. 😉 Not wanting to shock the owner too soon. We remain friends. When she visits, she will definitely have some words! 🤣
You have a designers eye. Lovely room. Do try looking in the 2nd hand, thrift stores. Beautiful armoires, china, lighting etc., can be found for amazing prices. Throughly enjoying your videos!
Hi, if you’ve still got the cotton bedspreads, you could refashion one into a giant cushion for the day bed seat. Measure, cut to size, fold the other to use as padding. Giant blanket stitch around to hold it all together!
That is a fantastic idea thank you!!! I will do that in the future. 🙏My issue is with the pattern…another little treasure left for us from the sale of this home. Maybe I should wrap them in plastic and preserve them in an armoire I have for storing this homes history of treasures.
The pop of green from the plant on the desk and the windows "framed" in green wisteria bring the outside in. Beautiful room. I happen to like the paper shade on the ceiling light. I have one in my office and love it.
It is amazing what you can unearth from (for me) is the basement of my house (or the Archive de Shame) where my possessions go to metaphorically die. I still like most of it. So now and again I shift things around and just change things up seasonally, for example. I love the mirror, the daybed and the armoire. I like where you have moved it as it is really a display piece and the first major thing that you see when you enter the room. Actually, the mirror/daybed wall and the armoire. They work well together. You have pulled together a lovely guest room from found pieces. Bravo!
I love this room and armoire. My coverlet x 2 is also cream and matte lasse. A solid rug in a natural type jute would be pretty. The window views are stunning
Oh matelas?! Natural jute is a favorite of ours, already in our master and boudoir bedrooms and in the living area. Why not add another… would keep it cohesive…
Bonjour David! Thank you! Justin has the same fear…oh my…this coming week I’ll need to reach the gutters and I’m a bit terrified. 😳 I’ll need to document that experience.
Very beautiful place all around. Watching you pick the antiques and then able to buy them on etsy is perfect. Only wished the dimensions would be in the descriptions. Looked at the small limoges white vase and wondering how tall it is. ?. Thank you for giving us a glimpse of what appears to be the perfect life. ( though it takes obviously a lot of work and vision to create it.)
~the mirror although beautiful seems invasive of the space, & seems uncomfortable above the delicate bed. I would consider moving it to another room. Definitely eliminate the dark bed liner, pillows, & rug. Search for something else. Try moving the bed in between the windows, and moving the armoire to where the bed is now. The mirror on the armoire will reflect the beautiful outdoor foliage! If you still have your leftover kitchen cabinets, remove the door fronts, attach them together to make a door for the closet. Sell the desk (too modern) or move it to your boudoir room. This channel is lovely!
Have you considered moving the bed to the wall where you just put that day bed? The windows on each side would balance that very well, also better flow when walking into the room. The room is very serene and calming.
Thank you for the suggestion..It seemed off having the bed facing the 2 doorways but maybe it can work in the future. I just know that waking up and facing the light in windows is very pleasant.
A wonderful guest room❤ I am sure you will make many changes the next few year’s. Itis a beautiful area you and your husband are living. By the way, my doggies always „help“ me changing the bedcovers ….
@@Frenchcountryfriends 😁 my dog’s are two rescue’s from Romania. I am from Austria, so we have many dogs from there. The bigger one is a boarder collie mix, the little one a sausage dog mix. They look funny together. ❤️
C'est si bon ! Conception exquise.
Fantastique curtains!!!!
The wisteria is an invasive plant they can do harm to a structure. They look beautiful when in bloom but will take over an entire area. The guest rooms looks nice! Love whites and natural wood colors in a room, very relaxing! ❤
It’s not looking bare! Less is more, no need to fill every inch! We all need LESS stuff. Love the look of this room. By the way, flat sheets are used with American comforters. When you use a duvet with cover there’s no need for a flat sheet since you wash the duvet cover.
Hi Maggie, great idea! Oh I wish it was versatile. It’s a hand woven wool rug so same on both side. I was thinking jute but I strongly leaning towards a traditional looking but plush area rug. Saving up! 🙌🙌🙌🙌

I think your guest room looks wonderful. Yes, a different area rug and less tribal look will be good. The windows and views are amazing.
Absolutely agree and since this video released this room had already had an update.
Very beautiful property love the mirror!
I love those glass frogs for flowers. Gorgeous.
Thank you! 😊
I love the mirror there! And that bed is amazing!
Thank you! 🙏
Room looks good looks peaceful
So thankful you kept the beautiful toddler bed inside!❤
Me too, it would of been a shame to have left it outdoors.
Thank you for watching! 🫶

That 200 year old daybed is stunning - so much soul
Oui! 💕💕💕💕
Beautiful room… love the old daybed that you brought into the space! It looks perfect between the two windows.🧺
I’m glad you agree, it was a relief to find a place for it.

It will evolve with time, just like us. You have a good eye and great finds at brocantes
You did a great job- the bench styling wow!!
Thanks so much! 😍

Hi Kathleen, we loved reading your message, thank you! It’s almost -as if- we rediscover ourselves as we shift the things we bring into our homes. 🤣
Lovely 👌
Very lovely an cozy room. 😊Edith from Chicago ❤
It looks beautiful just the way you have it now !
Thank you Ruby. 🫶
I love the changes you made. Yes, it take time to discover treasures for a home, but oh what fun it’s going to be!! 😊👍
It really is! As I’ve matured I’ve understood the need to be more deliberate with my choices. It’s never good to be wasteful.
The guest room is beautiful. You made it look so easy putting everything together.
Merci!
love your decor ideas!
I appreciate that! 💕
,the room looks beautiful

Thank you so much Marloes! 🙏💕
I think it’s beautiful!
Thank you Jane. 💕
I think the room looks calm & restful. And when you're in the mood you could always introduce a pop of colour.
Thank you for taking the time to comment. 🫶 I do like green…that would be nice…

I get how you've got to just prop it right. Its a great feeling when it looks just as you think it should be. It creates just the right look
The room is gorgeous! I'm with you regarding 'natural' fabrics, etc. Somehow, they bring such a comfortable, calm and unpretentious beauty to a space.
Yay I’m glad you agree, we should all be more material conscious. 🙏
That room is so much better than before....terrified watching you on the ladders Jenny 😬I don’t do heights lol

Hi David, thank you for your message. Life is beautiful here but definitely without its downsides. The limoges vase is a mini one, at only 17cm. 🫶
Thank you for your reply.

Thanks for the info, yes this one has been growing for 60 years…😮😮😮😮
The wisteria is beautiful but too much work plus what damage does it do to the building ?
No damage at all. Just need to maintain it 2x a year. We didn’t cut it back a lot when we moved in bc we didn’t want to shock the previous neighbor.
Your vlog is very similar to “French Country Life”. She’s very calming to listen to,as do you.
The bench would easily take a hit of color, maybe botanical and floral design.
The biggest furniture usually goes on the biggest wall, as a rule. Maybe wait to pick up a buffet/ sideboard from a brocante for that wall?
À neutral floral sounds lovely!!! Especially for the spring and summer months 💕
Oh no, I’m irritated by own voice 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
I would put the desk next to the wordrobe (armoir) and left the passage empty.
Thank you for the suggestion. 🫶

try to put a tray with nice tea pot and a cup on the bed!

If the pattern doesn’t go all the way through to the back you could always turn the area rug over, maybe 🤔
Hi Maggie, great idea! Oh I wish it was versatile. It’s a hand woven wool rug so same on both side. I was thinking jute but I strongly leaning towards a traditional looking but plush area rug. Saving up! 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Get u a big beautiful tree in THE left corner bring life to the room and big beautiful Headboard
Agree! I especially can’t wait for a headboard. 💕
bring a lovely green plant into the room
I would love a fiddle leaf fig.
An you flip the rug over?
I was hoping for some color, somewhere.
Yes, just right outside the window. Wonderfully green and the sky in different hues of blues…nature is so wonderfully colorful. ❤
And so hard to see at night. @@Frenchcountryfriends
I prefer bare room decor...less is more!
Not sure why you want the Wisteria growing on the house.
A lot of houses in Europe have climbing wisteria growing on them because the houses here are made of bricks and stone, so the wisteria is well supported. In regions where the houses tend to be made of timber(like in north America), climbing wisteria is a huge no no ad I believe wisteria is actually considered invasive because the wisteria easily overwhelms timber and can bring timber framed houses down!
Thank you Lola! 💕 I dream of driving through the Cotswolds and admiring all the wisteria one day.
The rug and the brown things on the bed are awful and really spoil the room but the rest is lovely
I kinda agree, could use a refresh. 🤣 I’m ready for upgrade as I mentioned but it will take time…
