Just to put it out there, you don't have to buy all your psvr1 games again. There's devs who are giving free upgrades for their psvr1 games. That list will grow with time too
Yeh I'm not sure why he didn't mention that in the review
This! Complete oversight by the reviewer.
@@ZaaRaphz cuz it’s IGN.. they lazy
What games are getting upgrades?
@@dizzydank6 Look up PSVR2 Without Parole's video on it
A SINGLE CABLE TO PLUG IN !!! Very happy about that considering the first was a wild setup!
True - it was like trying to read and understand an IKEA manual for your new wardrobe :P
ikr, it's funny how he says BUT like it's a bad thing lol
Why any wires? Been using a quest 2 with no wires playing all VR games in steam store or for PC via remote desktop and Shadow PC service for like 5+ years already...
@CornPopWazABadDude cords or no cords; who cares I'm LOVING my Experience 😎🤙
Agree, traveling with PSVR1 + PS4 was weird too
Once this gets a nice selection of games this will be utterly insane
Kinda already has
@@petebagwell6666 It's kind of limited, If it had access to a steam library it would bring in a lot of people.
@@petebagwell6666 like 3
@@Alvin-xs7db theres like 50+ launch titles bro.
It will be launched with over 30 games.
Even though it isn't a pcvr or standalone alone, I'm glad to see that the vr industry is growing to the point that big companies are actually putting in effort to make a headset that enthusiasts would want regardless of the platform.
Actually sounds better than anything on pc vr currently
@@KingJohnMichael it is.
Hopefully modding comes in clutch
@@KingJohnMichael u lying lmfao
@@KingJohnMichael Agree to disagree. There are pcvr headsets that support foveated rendering, have face tracking, higher fidelity that the psvr 2 and better tracking due to lighthouse. But the headset vibration is definitely a feature that brings something new to the table and honestly sounds like a cool feature that no one really expected.
Just received it and omg. I’ve worked on VR games for the military but this is on another level. The way it uses your pupils to LiDAR scan your room and furniture to establish a “play area” blew my mind. It’s literally like the Star Trek holodeck!
Can this be used to play non VR games like on a display screen?
This will be my first vr purchase. I'm excited to experience it first hand. Horizon , gt7, and no man's sky should be amazing to play in vr.
Same.
Resident evil Village and Re4 remake will be there too
Your going be blown away. Welcome to the matrix 😎
Those games are more or less my list. I’ve also preordered Kayak VR. Also my first headset. Just got an aluminum sim rig and will pickup a DD wheel/ load cell brake soon 😎
Same! So excited for no mans sky in particular.
They REALLY need to make alien: isolation for VR, would buy that again in a heartbeat
There’s a mod for pc
An entirely new but similar experience is currently in development!..
There's a new Alien VR game in development
VR is something I've always wanted to mess with but haven't taken the plunge. This really seems like the way to go for someone like me looking to jump in.
Nah u just don't want to by keeping on making excuses...
@@animeworldsensei why u so emotional smh he doesn’t have to buy it if he don’t want to get a life
Unless you already have a PS5, I'd wait for the quest 3. Quest can play games natively from the headset but can also access the huge catalog of PCVR titles not restricted by a single platform or by wires (if you have a wifi 6 router).
If you are bored of playing samey games , VR experience is unbelievable
Played on my Oculus Rift and trust me it’s an entirely different experience from regular gaming
RE8, GT7, Horizon, switchback, Pavlov, The walking dead and much more. More than enough games here to start off compared to the release of the actual PS5
New star wars game is awesome 👌👌
@@unknownasfuck8221 remastered star wars game that's almost 8 years old
Facts bro
Is Pavlov coming to PlayStation???
@@1jdkeating yes, at launch and according to the devs, it's 10% above the PCVR version with a RTX 3090 :)
I'll support Sony by getting one since they are trying to support VR gamers and it actually looks like a stunning headset.
Exactly 💯
thank you for supporting multibillion company 🙏🙏🙏 i wish all people were like you 😭😭😭
They don’t need your support lol 😂
@RAZREZ support with your wallets which is what they care about showing there is a market/demand for VR content otherwise no more VR funding/future

Thinking about doing the same are you still enjoying it ?
Its a huge step forward for VR. Cant wait to try it
Tethered to the space where your TV is located is not a step forward. It's an annoying step back when you want to play VR but your wife wants to watch TV.
@@teewhy6994 you can literally play it anywhere with an outlet you dont need the tv after the initial setup
@@undesirable2138 You mean you can unplug you console and drag it to any room? Wow, that's so, well, not awesome.
@@teewhy6994 You can be tethered and enjoy stunning VR or can be untethered and play crappy Quest2/PCVR games.
I'd rather be tethered.
@@teewhy6994 sounds like it's annoying having a wife lol
You don't have to rebuy all games. Some games are a free upgrade like Synth Riders. Others have an upgrade $ that's much cheaper than the original game price.
And more to come 👍
Indeed it's truly a generational leap.mad respect to Sony!!
Also you don’t need a tv after you set up the psvr2
Waiting for a wireless standalone psvr that connects to PC as well, and have many games that don't last for only 4 to 5 hours.
@@blamcheese Will never happen unfortunately
@@blamcheese or will come in 10+ years. But if everyone waits nothing will happen.
@@blamcheese why? It would be heavier, it'd have a battery life, and it'd have worse graphics. Wired is the way to go for psvr
the one cord setup is such an improvement over the last one. The last PSVR was such a chore and headache to setup.
Great review with one small problem...You say you have to buy them all again when talking about PSVR games. There are games offering Free upgrades. That should be corrected for the record.
He also fails to mention RE8 and GT7 as launch line up free upgrade games. Pretty big miss.
@@sachoslks Yes agree 100%
Got it pre-ordered along with Horizon Call of the Mountain, GT7, No Man's Sky, REV, and more. Sony really did great!
If you have the normal No Man's Sky will you get to play on PSVR2? Or is there a different version?
@My Weird Second Channel With A Pretty Long Name may just be un update not sure for disk versions though
@@myweirdsecondchannelwithap9070 Free upgrade even with disc version
Get thumper. It's a simple game, but fun and cheap
Honestly this is what I've been waiting for when it comes to VR and I'm stoked that Sony has set a benchmark for VR. Competitions about to fierce hopefully.
It's great fun. Enjoy mate
Great review! In fact the best review from the gaming news sites. Can't wait!
Looks like that price tag is worth it for Call of the Mountain and Tales from the Galaxy's Edge alone
Great review, can’t wait to get mine!
PSV2 startup gives me goosebumps 🔥❤
The features of the PSVR 2 either equal or far surpass the $1000 valve index and no one seems to give it that credit.
Well the index is 4 years old but yeah the psvr2 is extremely impressive.
Yes many will rag on it bc of its price but it's actually a lot cheaper compared to any headset with similar specs
Its driving me insane how noone mentions that. Everyone compare it to the Quest 2 when its actual competitors are PC VR headsets than more than double its price and still are worse. The PSVR2 is insane value and noone seems to make that connection.
@@cookingsauce8274 Not if you have a clue how much better it is not to be tethered.
On the standalone VR unit sure.
But when bundled with the PS5, which is HAS TO BE. Then no credit is due, because it is over the $1000 mark.
That's why, it's not difficult maths haha. You literally need to drop over $1000 to have one
I’m stoked for this!⚡️
Was a big fan of the psvr1 and it’s games.
Now, it feels like Playstation is just gonna double down on those things!
Can’t wait to be immersed in experiences like GT7, Horizon Call of The Mountain and RE8!
The giant fetus part is going to give me a heart attack in RE8 VR
Sony can take my money when RE8 comes out on this mate….💵

Plz more PSVR2 content from you guys!!!!! Preordered!!!!!!
I’m curious about other features that the original had such as the virtual screen mode where you can play any non VR game in the headset on a virtual screen. As well as the implementation of viewing 3D blu-rays in the headset. Which was darn fun in the original.
Lol OK, Schneer Peider
It has it! 4k120hz with VRR nonetheless.
Edit: it's 1080p guys not 4k.
@@nongmaithemavinash3977 that's actually sick
@@nongmaithemavinash3977 the games will only render at 1080p hdr 120hz in big picture mode.
It has the same mode. Big screen, OLED HDR 120hz portable display for your flat games. Kinda sick.
Pre-ordered mine a month ago with a couple of games, also pre-ordered Switchback VR can’t wait
I'm so excited for mine to arrive!
The similarities to PCVR in capabilities (room scale tracking, Oculus style controller layout) means porting from PC will probably be easier this time. Making it more likely that PC titles will make the jump to PSVR this time around.
Let’s hope
One can hope but it's probably unlikely.
No, it makes even less likely with the new eye tracking tech and hardware
@Kayra Erdem The headset cannot natively output full 4k at all times though. It only displays in 4k where your eyes are looking
@Kayra Erdem Source?
Eye tracking on VR is introducing a new way for horror games to scare me
Just counting down the days now! Can't wait!
Hope other VR companies take notes on this
Looks incredible
Great review. Just one note. You say that if someone has PSVR1 games they must buy all the games again. It may not be so, as several games have free upgrades or cheaper upgrade routes.
Such a great piece of tech 😳
Can't wait to hold one in my hands next Week 🥰
im super excited to see what Sony can do with this. Imagine a The Last of Us VR game on the new PS5 technology, TLOU2 already looked fantastic, imagine how this could look when you've taken a step into that terrifyingly beautiful world.

VR IS THE FUTURE OF GAMING
It's not..... Yet. There are people who can't handle VR due to motion sickness not to mention those with disabilities.
@@thaneros Exactly!!
There are like a dozen VR headsets for PC. Yet, Only about 2% of Steam users use VR on PC. VR gaming still has a “LONG” way, before it becomes mainstream and the norm ha even on PlayStation
One future just like mobile gaming.
@@thaneros Advances in technology will fix those problems, it could take decades but we will eventually get there
Can't wait for mine to arrive!
Support VR! It will be the future of gaming eventually!!!
It's not more expensive than the previous gen. It's exactly the same price once you factor the move controllers and camera you needed to buy. You're just getting it all in one package this time around.
Fully agree, especially if you factor in inflation, the PS VR2 is looking like a great deal at $550 compared to $400 for the first one almost a decade ago.
@@gracelandtoo6240 these journalists are so dishonest. It's unbelievable. PSVR 2 let's the barrier to high end vr by at least 50% of what comparably performing headsets will cost on pc. And that requires a pc with the juice to do vr right, which costs more than a ps5. But no. We only care about price tags irrespective of context.
Mine just shipped im excited
The free VR update of Resident Evil 8 looks insane. True next level AAA vr gaming.
The trailer looks amazing.
Resi 8, GT7, Horizon, No mans Sky, Walking Dead Saints and Sinners, kayak vr, firewall ultra and switchback to come shortly.
Plenty of great games to play. If you are new to vr especially this is a no brainer.
Thank you for investing in VR, PlayStation!!
What’s the resolution like? Does it look much clearer when using through the headset?
Nice Video! I'll be posting some clips from the new VR2 soon! Excited to test it out.
The hype is real.
4-5 hour battery is pretty generous compared to Meta Quest Pro one hour battery life, since that’s at $1500 there’s no excuse it doesn’t have a longer battery life.
Totally different headsets. Meta Quest is a standalone device and must perform the whole calculation itself. Of course, this costs much more battery than with the PS VR2 where the PS5 takes over the computing power.
I'd like to see them offer complete control over the size of the screen when in big screen mode. The border in big screen mode seems like a way to prevent non vr games from appearing vr like.
2D is never VR like no matter how big the screen is, it's actually a disadvantage because you're playing the game with a much much smaller FOV than intended.
Really was hoping to hear about playing non vr games and how they looked
Why are you complaining about available games. There are 30 launch titles, some are from some of the best titles available, and then over 100 games will be available in the next few months.
Devs need to make use of this technology. Once they get to adapt to this tech well, it will be insane
we cant. you have to work for sony to make a game for the console. if you inport a game to a factory PlayStation it wont run. every other headset can play your game in steam vr over the xr framework. psvr dosnt surport it.
You had me at Metroid on the screen in the background.
Maybe I'm wrong, but wasn't that Mega Man?
Can you turn off things like motion blur in PS VR? I’m interested in getting it but I’ve been skeptical about motion sickness etc. I’m not epileptic or anything but I’ve always just figured these headsets would give headaches etc. any insight greatly appreciate !
GT7, RE VILLAGE, Kayak Mirage and No Mans Sky will entertain long enough at Launch🎉
Let's hope we will see support for 3d movies as well.
every vr headset can play 3d movies.
Mine arrives Wednesday, launch day, let’s go!
Hold up!!!! Who's ps5 has 2 USB ports on the front? Mine only got one.
I'm ridiculously excited for this. Had many many hours of fun with the first headset and the crazy amount of advancements hopefully will make it so much better. Come on Wednesday , hurry up!
Cant wait to pick one up when more games come out. Very cool
I’m not too worried about the cable because I’m just going to get the kiwi cable management for vr and it shouldn’t bother me .
Can't wait for mine 6 more days
You didn't mention all of the free upgrades.
Or the 30-plus new games at launch. Ign strikes again.
Hope Skybox will be available soon on PS VR2!!
We need a RIGS MECHANIZED COMBAT LEAGUE PS VR2 version
Can't wait! Just a week to go!!!
I've been playing VR since Oculus DK2. Being tethered is a huge step back. It's nice that PSVR2 has great visual fidelity but nothing compares playing Alyx on my living room with the Quest 2. Airlink was a huge leap forward and any headset that comes out and still needs cables seems archaic to me.
Anyone who cries about a single cable is literally insane.
@@darthvaderthegamecat Facts. These whiny crybabies screaming about a cable have no clue what they're talking about. The cable is not noticeable literally at all lmfao. I'd honestly prefer a cable rather than having to deal with the spotty connection of airlink.
Does the rubber coating on the padding flake off after a month like the 1st o e?
This and Gran Turismo ...wishlist completed
Free GT7 VR upgrade has got to be an even bigger system seller than Horizon Call of the Mountain -- though, Horizon is the more exciting one of the two for me, personally. Very cool!!
Also got the oculus quest 2 VR Headset,Have fun on that quite often,Looking on google earth in street view,Feels like outside in the streets
Can’t wait for mine, gonna be hella high playing it
Me too gonna get baked
Are you able to use your phone with this vr headset like watching vr videos on UA-cam
The most important thing is the games though. Was looking at getting v1 but the lack of supported racing games put me off. The fact GT7 will fully works with this makes me excited
If this could hook up to my PC as well as play PSVR titles, this would be an instant buy for me.
Only ps5
It can play most psvr titles
now if only it would also become compatible to use on pc/steam - then I'd buy immediately.
Does the games come installed or you have to buy it
Is there any chance of getting a summer lesson sequel on psvr2?
Looks incredible.
If it had more games or could be used on PC it would be an instant buy
Only ps5
Should have my psvr Wednesday and know just about everything about it already but still binging these videos to pass the time

There are over 100 games announced, and some do have free upgrades to psvr2...
There's a very loud high pitch buzz in the background whenever you're talking.

The games will come, it’s not even a notable bad side of this amazing headset… just my opinion
