Something that should have been mentioned is that some units can apparently have slightly more or less Mura than others but every headset will have some of course. I think the biggest difference is how much people actually notice it. IMO and experience from friends: the more time you have spent in VR (specifically PCVR like Index) the more likely you are to notice it. Much love! Join up in the discord! Discord.gg/thrill
With today's technology on lenses and panels, mura will be present for all VR headsets at some degree. Some people are more sensitive to it than others. Some aren't bothered by it as much. Hopefully the technology gets better in the future. Most people who are used to VR already know about this and are accustomed to it already. Most VR newbies will probably notice it and it just depends on how sensitive they are to it.
I agree with you. I think because you are so immersed in PCVR, going from that to PSVR may almost be a downgrade in your eyes. For me, I love the PSVR2! But then again, I’ve never played PCVR before :(
my psvr 1 had mura on only half of one eye, and the whole other eye. always wondered if it was a defect, worse on mine than others. 3/4 of my FOV had mura
I’ve been seeing a lot of UA-camrs falling in love with PSVR 2 and honestly I’m not really surprised. I tried Gran Turismo 7 in VR and it left me shaking because it feels so damn good. It’s something you have to experience in person to understand, words can’t properly describe the feeling. It makes non-VR racing games feel very weak in comparison now, and I say that as someone who also likes Forza. It’s just not the same anymore. VR elevates racing sims to a whole new level. I also tried RE Village, and just like RE7, I have to admit that first person Resident Evil is a lot better in VR if you actually want to feel scared. The first time I played RE7 in VR I actually had to take breaks every 5 minutes because it was too much. You feel scared by everything around you and even start to feel paranoid in a way because VR actually puts you into the game. It’s not like gaming from your couch and being able to see everything between you and your TV. In VR, all you see is what’s in the game, all around you, and you feel extremely vulnerable as a result. It makes the horror experience an actual experience. Nowhere to run unless you take off the PSVR. It’s a terrifying feeling and it’s a total game changer.
To be honest, I have a 3080 with a quest 2 and I am really happy with it. However, today my psvr2 arrived and I must say that I prefer the psvr because of my own preferences: Oled, Fov, Vibration/adaptive trigger and eye tracking… I also love the fact that it’s just plug and play and works 100% (so far… haha) without the infinite adjustments I have to make with the pcvr
I am on RTX3060 and I don't have to make "infinite adjustments", except playing with a few graphics options. Yours sounds like one giant BS statement. PCVR is somehow worse because of "infinite adjustments"? Get the f out of here!
@Random_4U bro, I'm yet to be bothered or notice the "mura" ..people say things and the sheep herd follows suit and brings things up to no end..its seriously a non-issue and isn't even present if you ask me.
no man's sky on PC? launch oculus, link headset, launch steamvr (and whatever other apps you normally use with it like OVRAS and overlays), close all the trash apps bogging down performance, then launch no man's sky no man's sky on psvr? connect headset, launch no man's sky psvr2 is probably a better starter headset than quest in my opinion (especially for those not as technically inclined) for the simplicity alone ngl
If they put in even a little effort I'd say they can't drop the ball any harder than Meta/Facebook. Those guys had all the cards in their hands at one time, but instead of letting the devs they absorbed go hog wild to create something everyone would want to experience they tried to make it into an actual digital mall/conference room with 1996 3D graphics. They didn't even realise that games always have streamlined menu based shops because actual real life shopping is horribly boring. It's sad, because experiences and games like Lone Echo showed their talent really knows what it was doing. Shutting down that associated Echo VR future sports game "Because it had just tens of thousands of players" is ridiculous. Those numbers show that there is potential in the game they could expand on.
This thing is so good, if they secure HL:A (already getting beat saber as well) and release even 1 or 2 Sony first party games on this, it will sell like crazy I'd bet. GT7 may do it with word of mouth alone. Not to mention how cool Resident Evil and Horizon are. They need to hurry up and put it on store shelves instead of selling direct as well imo.
Unfortunately that Quest 2 still has the largest market share. You will see many childish games with bad graphics being made. I am not buying any games that are available also on Quest 2 because I know already that the graphics must be BAD.
@@trumplostlol3007 Not all games that are available on the Quest have bad graphics on PC. There are plenty of games that have fantastic graphics when played in PCVR. There are game devs that focus less on PCVR since the market share is smaller, but not all of them do. With PSVR2 out now, devs will focus even more on graphics for the platforms that can handle it.
@@battlefieldclips7013 little IRL specks floating around when you move your eyes. It affects a bunch of people - if you don’t have them, count yourself lucky 😁
At first I noticed the Mura a ton and it drove me insane. Once I got a few hours into some of the games I was playing (mainly Resident evil), I just stopped noticing it and it became almost invisible to me. It’s still there for sure, but I have to really focus to see it.
Had the same experience. I can only notice the flaws if I stay still and focus on them, but as soon as I start actually playing a game, all of that fades away.
The issue with the PSVR2 isn't technical. It's the closed garden approach on the consoles. We already know how this will end up, as great as the tech might be.
I feel like most reviews, including this one, overlook how simple and great the IPD adjustment and eye tracking process is. As someone who occasionally has friends/fam/gf over for shared VR gaming experiences, it is great to know that we can all visibly check the placement of their eyes and tracking accuracy with just a couple of button presses. No more guesstimating and taking the headset off to adjust (Quest 2) a measly 3 settings. Now we can visually confirm the optimal IPD and tracking without the user taking off the headset and easily make minor adjustments without much interruption. Also, not needing to buy / set up bay stations is great. Great review though, as always. I'm pretty happy with my PS VR2, and was also bothered by the mura - though thankfully got over it quickly; and friends don't even really notice. The only major thing holding this headset back IMO is lack of PC compatibility. I'd gladly put away my Quest 2 for good, or sell it - if it had Steam VR support. One can only hope there will be a day.
@DrAnimePhD Crazy right! Thought modders might figure it out at some point but the fact that Playstation themselves announced some sort of PC solution for this year is HUGE! Can't wait! 🍻
This is one of your best and (bizarrely) introspective videos. Your passion and obviously joy in what you do & in VR in general is admirable. I run a PC and a Quest 2 currently & honestly, your unadulterated joy in aspects of this console setup in terms of the experience, makes me want to go out and spend the 1000 units of currency. For me as a 52 year old fella and my 10 year son it seems like something incredibly accessible and fun.
@@dcptiv I had a mate do the same thing with quest 2 though, VR often impresses people on first try as they have only heard the bad things.. he got a link cable and all these games on day 1, don't even thinnk he played half of them before it wound up in the drawer after a week.. although he did a similar thing after using my drone for 5 mins.. thinking i should just rent my toys to him for a week and save us both some money :P ... am getting keen for this though as love oled since getting them for tv and pc so would be hard to go back to Q2 now...
The PS VR2 made the PS5 worth it for me. I absolutely love my vr kit! Pavlov, GT7 and RE:8 make it worth the price of admission imo. Everything else is just the cherry on top :D Set up is super easy, plug and play, basically no loading times so my adhd brain can just switch between experiences like its nothing, its comfortable AF, the tracking is flawless for me, the controllers are GREAT with the adaptive triggers and the haptics in the headset and senses, the graphics and performance are miles above my quest 2 on my 2080 super. The thing has rekindled my love for gaming.
Fighting words adding Pavlov into that list there, given how the PSVR release completely killed the game on PC. All those years of modding, down the drain.
This has gotta be another massive step into mainstream VR, along the lines of Quest 2 and the Index. I don't own one, nor a PS5 but I can't deny how awesome this is.
@@ekspatriat Are you certain about that? VR is niche for certain, and coming from daily driving a Varjo Aero, I can understand how technology wise we haven't made much progress recently. But take this, the Quest 2 put VR onto the map for most people and made the market a LOT bigger. Now we have Sony making a viable option for regular consoles. More eyes on VR, more people seeing what's happening, more companies who might want to get in on this. I say "Mainstream VR" for a very specific and literal reason It's a big step in making VR more _mainstream_ . Also with games like Rec Room, VRChat, BeatSaber, and other titles raking in well in excess of a billion dollars a year I wouldn't call VR unimportant, just unadopted.
@@VaalkinTheOnly When PS5 buyers mostly have done this as the biggest leisure purchase they will make, they will NOT pay much more than that purchase just for VR...It's too far! I bought Quest 2 JUST for HL Alyx and PSVR 2 JUST for HZD. That is because in gaming there aint much else! VR has promised for many years it just has not delivered to the masses.
@@ekspatriat Maybe give the headset a year or two...the thing is only been out for 1 week for crying out loud haha....And in that 1 week it has already brought 2 more exclusive AAA games than valve has done in 4 years! I am certain Sony got us covered, they are doing their part time for us gamers to do our part. And not only focus on minor issues.
Truly incredible review. I own a 3090 and a quest 2. I was ridiculously hyped for psvr2 and extremely disappointed when I got it at first. The Mura shocked me. I hadn’t heard a SINGLE person say a thing about it. Almost returned it. But then I played some games for a while especially GT7. eventually the mura just kinda stopped bothering me because I was having such a dang good time. Once you stop focusing on it everything changes and the positives of the headset FAR outweigh the negatives. No it’s not as perfect as I dreamed but in some ways it actually exceeded my expectations just very differently than I imagined. I highly recommend it for anyone who has the ability to get it
Exactly my thoughts. I barely even notice the mura effect now,and I. Fully immersed. People forget its all about the content. Just look at the ps4,yeah it was weak compared to pc but many pc players bought one just so they can play all the exclusives. Content is king and if sony continues to deliver games like re8 and gt7 it can't fail.
I just want to point one thing - Previous PSVR was released in 2016, and it's still a supported device till this day. During the same time, Oculus released 5 headsets, and drop support on most of they're headset's. PSVR 2 is a headset for much longer time than most headset's on the market.
@@ConservativeJuggaloPodcast it still set a precedent for how quick they are to drop hardware after a short release , eg the quest 3 is coming out but how long before a quest 3 pro or quest 4 a year.....maybe 2 it's not long enough for the initial cost , when you buy a console for example you know your getting at least 5 years out the machine maybe more
@@ConservativeJuggaloPodcast there’s the rift, rift s, Quest, Quest 2 and they’re working on another headset currently, and there was one that’s older than the first rift but I don’t remember what that one was called
Every single Oculus headset ever made still works fuck-nuts... Even Quest 1 will still be able to play all Quest 1 compatible games + PCVR INDEFINITELY!
Thank you for actually talking about this. I just got my PS vr2 and have the exact same experience. I’m just really trying to get over it lol. I just wish most other reviewers would mention this as well. As they may have set the expectation a smidge too high.
Well done on the price recommendation breakdown. It has to be looked at in the same way as if you already had a gaming PC and then want to just add a VR headset on, versus needing to buy a full rig *plus* the headset. I think the real make or break for PSVR2 will be the games on the platform, and not just arcade one-offs you load up a couple times and forget them, but true full length campaign titles. If we were to see huge IPs like The Last of Us, God of War, Spider-man, etc. all get proper VR treatment, it could create a whole new wave of VR gaming with quality over quantity like Meta's strategy was. No lie, I'd buy a PS5 and PSVR2 immediately if they brought out a Last of Us VR game that was something like Half-Life: Alyx, wherein it happens between certain games. Seeing a clicker in VR would make me cry with fear but also make me so incredibly happy. lol
That and many people need a PC for reasons outside VR anyway. A game console is a toy, a PC is a tool. I don't look at those purchases as being in the same category.
Eye tracking seems really fun. I’ve been thinking about modding the Index since there’s that one community project with both software and hardware (it even has 3D printed stuff too) that gives the Index eye tracking support. If I end up making my Index look like a bomb, eh, whatever.
Unfortunately i doubt you'll find many PC games with the eye tracking game design features since devs won't implement stuff like that for such a tiny fraction of the market compared to a standardized platform, unless they port the PS versions. Foveated rendering should be pretty awesome though (does that require game support or is it driver level?)
@@joos3D eye tracking is implemented at a hardware/software level, but it’s up to the games to include it or how to use it. Horizon uses it for rendering while firewall ultra uses it to chose weapons in menu
Unfortunately Valve is literally responsible for holding back eye tracking, their OpenXR beta doesn't support it, it's like having OpenXR without openXR, it's only meant to allow games developed to run on OpenXR to use steamVR, and all the idiot developers use it.
I love the shot at 6:00. All the synth, sequencer, and mixer lights shining and going bleep bloop is hypnotic :3 But yiss, excellent video as always. I was hoping for a bit more from the PSVR2, buuut do'h well, it's at least a big step in the right direction for the industry.
I experienced the grain thing as well and honestly it’s not bothersome for me. Usually I just don’t think about it and it’s not there anymore (well it is I just don’t process it). Still get incredibly immersed
Same, it's 100% there and apparent but once I'm in a game I don't even think about it, the brightness the blacks the colors and clarity are still fantastic, it's just a con, and it doesn't have to be perfect as I really enjoy it, my biggest complaint would be the front pad is not the most comfortable. It squishes my forehead 😑, although that could be user error idk
I find it's dependant on game and scene most of the time, some games can't see it at all others it's there can see a slight fuzz but it's nowhere near as bad as people let on at the beginning, I think turning the brightness down and regular use actually lowers the effect too , sure it was more noticeable in gt7 when I first played it compared to now
Don't let the Mura issue stop you from buying the headset. You notice it when you look for it, but when you're focusing on the game you simply look right through it without even noticing it. It's similar to the blurriness we see around the edges of most VR headsets as a result of the lenses. When you look for it, it's really blurry you're on the edge. But, you hardly ever notice it when you're focusing on the game.
@@mikeoxsbigg1 Me as well.. I'm 46 and need reading glasses, but in vr I don't need it, since ironically it's right infront of your eyes, the focal point is around a few meters ahead of you. I can see the mura if I look for it, but once your "in" you don't notice it. I have a bigger gripe with the reprojection.. but that's software side, and nothing to do with the hardware. Spent many hours into GT7 even though I don't have a steering wheel (yet). Now I'm into learning all the different weapon reloading mechanics in Pavlov. I'm getting too old:.-/
Depends on the game. Some games like RE8 border on unplayable when you're in a dark area, because the Mura layer is so thick that you can't see anything beyond it. Sadly, since I am a big horror fan when it comes to VR, I imagine this will be an ongoing issue for me. I know some people can 'get used to it', and maybe for people who have never used any other VR set it is fine, but after coming off of the Quest 2, the thick Mura feels like a step backwards in terms of image-quality - even if the actual resolution and game graphics are better.
Excellent review! It's a realistic headset for the price compared to more expensive headsets - Cas and Chary called it a "perfect compromise" - but Sony has to keep the AAA bangers coming
I loved all the Sony titles for OGPSVR, Farpoint with the AIM controller and 3D-printed buttstock in co-op story mode online was just the most amazing VR experience I've had to this date still. I'm always hoping a new game will get me to that place again, like a junkie getting his next VR fix lol
At least don’t tell me your another index worshipper treating it as the holy grail. I have both the index and psvr2 and overall I far prefer the latter. I don’t know why people still sing the indexes praises constantly.
@@jakkudemoff3043 Yeah well I’ve had comfort issues with my index for some reason even though everyone else says it’s one of the most comfortable headsets so I barely ever use it. After 4 years the index definitely needs to be reduced in price but unfortunately it still hasn’t simply because no real reputable companies have produced high end pc-vr headsets over the past few years. I just get annoyed to see people still praising the index so much just because it’s valve when in reality it’s now overpriced outdated hardware.
@@tomstacey1103 that's a shame to hear because all I hear is praise too but I'm loving psvr 2 - the amazing lighting and blacks with the incredible headset and controller haptics and I'm sold on dealing with mura and persistence issues
I have an HP Reverb G2 and just bought the Sony's PSVR2 recently and I am so satisfied with it. As for the screen door effects, I'm one of those CRT shader lover type guy and thus really like the effect. GT7 in VR is revolutionary and I wish more to come.
I find the comment laughable. - The sharpness/clarity of PSVR2 is horrible compared to every other headset I`ve tried. The G2 (despite its poor edge to edge clarity) is vastly superior to PSVR2. - And there is also the issue of the lack of super sampling on PSVR2. The difference between 100% and 400% Super sampling on PC is profound. PSVR2 looks to me like it is running at less than 'native" resolution most of the time and Sony have done their best to hide this by blurring the image with a filter. - If you simply enjoy better colors at the expense of every other metric like sharpness, clarity in motion, reprojection, sweet spot, edge to edge clarity then FINE I guess but that is not how most people would view it.
I've used several VR headsets and they all have a screen door effect, i take the grain look of the PSVR2 over that any day. I'm loving it. It's an amazing thing, i keep thinking it's gonna get old but then im standing in space flying and shit. ♥️
I genuinely play NMS with my Q1 still even though I do have a Q2 as well even with the Pro controllers and that really comfy BoboVR M2+ strap... the OLEDs are just so good, even though they're lower res (1440x1600 per eye).
Holy crap I want to play Rez VR with eye tracking. That seems like an absolute 90s wet dream, and generally just an authentic way to enjoy Rez. An underrated game overall, I really miss this era of games and especially SEGA's entries like this. Cosmic Smash is coming back though, which is something literally no one on the face of the planet saw coming.
Very sensible and (as usual) in depth review, Thrill. Hope you'll have reason to do an update in 6 months to a year because the quality and quantity of the library has caught up with the headset. I will say, though my usual motto is, "Never try anything new; let someone else try it first, and see if it kills them," this is the first VR headset I've actually gone full "early adopter" on by pre-ordering.
I actually love the headphones they included with the headset. I tried using my steelseries Arctic’s nova 7’s but they just felt uncomfortable with the headset, and I just ended up going back to the included headphones.
me to but i want a 3rd party to make better ear bud for the head set i dont want head phone its to much on my head and it hurts my neck and it kept pushing my head set out of the sweet spot
I can't use those, I like volume control on my headphones as some games are louder then others and I just hate going into a menu to adjust, I have the pulse 3d and while maybe not the best sound quality, the 3d audio is great and it's so much easier putting them on and not worrying about anything.
I've found that the PSVR2 is for sure a good headset. The biggest drawback honestly is the mura but like Thrill mentioned you can get over it and its not always game breaking. I feel the best reasons to invest in the PSVR2 is for the haptics, adaptive triggers, oled screen, and potential VR game support. I personally was already sold after seeing how gorgeous resident evil 8 feels in it. I've also started playing Pavlov again and haven't had that much fun in that game in a very long time. From what I've noticed with VR veterans is that it does reignite that VR excitement and has done so for me. If you have the cash I think its a good investment while waiting for the VR market to get itself together and pull all the good pieces from all current headsets together into one.
I'm sure I'd get used to the mura quickly. So that's not even its biggest flaw. Its biggest flaw is the lack of PC support! Sony would make their ROI and even profit in NO TIME if it were PC compatible.
Yeah it would be nice to have PC support, Sony definitely wants you to buy their software to recoup the cost. I personally don't mind if it shows other businesses that VR is profitable and encourages them to release other headsets.
The biggest drawback of psvr2 isn't the headset imo, it's the console itself. Luckily an adapter for PC is coming soon. I expect when people super sample the resolution of their games on PC like we do with every other headset, it will show what the headset can do. I mean, don't buy it for pc obviously, even with the adapter, there's no support so chances are it can stop working with pc anytime, plus there's better things around that price, and even if they don't come with foveated rendering, you can put an addon later (yes even in the bigscreen beyond you can fit it in). But if you already have one and a PC I'd try it just to see the difference. It would be cool if the PS5 Pro could push gt7 and other games to at least 90 fixed fps to avoid the reprojection and have a smoother feeling but didn't happen with psvr1 won't happen here either
have i mentioned how much I love your contents over other channels? It's the fact that you totally speak your mind, both bad and good sides without being biased whatsoever. Great job!
PSVR1 had an extremely similar screen issue. So glad they made it a lot easier to connect. The first one was kinda complicated with co-processor connections and stuff.
Damn son that a f%#king review right there. The honest good bad and ugly. I’ve seen some reviews where nobody even mentions the grain like wtf idk. Thanks for all you do sir 👏🏽
That "Grainy filter" Effect is exactly why I got rid of my Vive Pro. I didn't mind the Screen Door Effect, but the Mura thing really pulled me out of the immersion... and I went back to my index.
I've been excited for PSVR2 for a while, and it finally arrived after what seems like forever, and it's amazing. Sure, there are a couple flaws like the sweet spot being small, but that's quite easy to fix, and is excusable given the amazing specs for the price. After having the Quest 1 and Quest 2, this is my first time experiencing high quality, uncompressed VR. One of my favorite things about the PSVR2 is that it blocks out *all* light. The Quest 2 has quite a large gap around your nose, and that breaks immersion quite a bit. But, the PSVR2 is just completely dark with no light leak, and comes at the cost of having to use the passthrough button often, but it's really great and adds so much immersion. The FOV is also noticeably bigger, and is big enough to the point where I don't really notice the edges of the lenses much, compared to Quest 2 which feels like looking through rolls of toilet paper. I do wish they could've released Beat Saber on PSVR2 at launch (it seems pretty easy to port since the game has no joystick movement, but maybe they need to refresh the copyright licenses for the DLC.) At least I still have my Quest 2 for Beat Saber. Hopefully Beat Games doesn't take a year like they did with multiplayer on the first PSVR.
Great video. The perfect VR headset doesn't exist. They all have ups and downs, and it's great to hear that this one is so heavy on the ups, especially since it's in its own corner of the market. I am a bit worried with the miura, though, and what that means for the Pimax Crystal.
Mura is overblown , definitely there but nowhere near as bad as the loud mouths on the internet claim , some games it's non existent And don't quote me on this just going from my experience, I think the mura is worse on new screens after some regular use I'm sure the screen has worn in so to speak and it's less pronounced now , was either that or an update improved it and It took me awhile to notice I mean I recently put 2 separate people in gt7 and asked them did they notice anything wrong with the image and only thing they mentioned was some stuff disappearing in the rear view mirror , nothing about any fuzziness etc and these were two people with little to no vr experience
I see it as you. With the hardware, PSVR2 + PS5, Sony did drop a solid base. Now its up to them to give it a life. But its also to us to not expect the wrong things. VR is still a niche and so the development costs per player are much higher. This means, we can't expect AAA VR games with the same amount of content to the same price as a flat game. As long as VR is not getting out of this niche, there are two options for games that are developed as VR specific games: 1. Get the price to the same level of flat games and deliver with less content 2. Get the amount of content to the same level of flat games but sell it at a hinger price Horizon Cotm is an example for Nr. 1
I see the mura effect mainly only when I’m looking at flat screens now. In Kayak VR and Horizon, it pretty much goes away when I’m immersed. And GT7… I picked it up on sale shortly before the PSVR2 launch hoping it would just be another fun experience or something to show off. I’m really not a racing game guy or a car guy. I don’t have a fancy rig, but I did swap to tilt controls. All that said I’ve dumped considerable time into that game. I’m actually loving the different cars. They feel different to me. I get different sensations driving a Mustang than a Prius. The experience is absolutely amazing. Despite having saved up the money for a PSVR2, a proper racing rig is probably a little out of my current price range, but I’m actually pricing them out and considering buying one.
Oh man..I wasnt big into racing. I preferred arcadey Forza Horizon types, but now, after getting PSVR2 I have a complete racing wheel and rig. (Im 55 and needed my wifes aproval - she loves it too now, but gets sick going down hills haha). Its so immersive.
Been playing Assetto corsa in VR for years now and I'm telling you, simracing will save VR in general, get you a wheel/pedal setup man; it'll even improve your real life skills behind the wheel, shit litteraly taught me how to drift 👀
@@anomalychasing5383 After playing Assetto in VR for years I knew this was gonna introduce a lot of new people to Simracing in VR, I litteraly haven't used my VR headset for anything else in about a year, and it taught me how to drift my Miata! 😂
After 4 hours of village( a game I already have finish on pcvr) I didn't even care for mura same goes for gt7 you really don't care after a while the experience is awsome especially for people they ll have their first experience in vr with it.
I'm hoping this'll nudge game development further in VR. Because the PS5 is a PC with the same specs as a PC (AMD CPU and GPU, X86 architecture unlike older generations), so if games are coded to work with the PS5VR, it could be possible to also have VR support for the same games on PC.
i hope they let the indie dev to work on psvr2, if they didn't have enough money to make VR game. just let the community explore all of the amazing psvr2 Functionality and create a Great game.
Funny thing about that grainy effect, I definitely notice it, and it was worse on the PSVR1, I have a 'Visual Noise' condition, and VR headsets are genuinely the only ways I can explain to others how my astigmatism is. The glare of god rays and that mura grain are just what I see in my everyday life for more than two decades. Just think its funny that a flaw in clarity is the only way I can relay to others my own visual experience just is.
Fr, its about the same price as the quest 3. Although people conplain that you have to get a ps5 alongside it, no one buys this headset without already having a ps5 or pc.
Just wanted to let you know that I truly appreciate your passion, hard work and integrity. I can honestly say that of several VR creators you are the last one I keep watching; I don't think it's ok to do "reviews", while at the same time offering affiliate links to buy said product, as is often the case on other channels. I appreciate your honesty a lot.
the psvr2 is a great step forward with the eye adjustment but not everyone's eyes are symmetrical I wish both lens were adjustable separately (up and down also ) so you can get the perfect sweet spot.. heck it would be awesome if they could auto adjust for you every time you put it on. it already tracks the center of you eye
I love the intro music! Good video man as usual lol edit: one thing I forgot to add was that I love the office! I don't remember seeing it before except as a slight glimpse in the AEXLAB office tour but it looks great
To play fair, Mura is found in LCD as well - OLED isnt the only one having this problem. It happens because the "color" isnt all the same per group of sub pixels. Its more of a factor issue/Quility design than it is with the technology it self. Problem is for VR - there isnt a good way to correct for this and something Meta at the time did try to fix over software (because it can be to some level). Thats why on Meta hardware - all OLED will have not as black pixels to fix this almost turning a light gray instead. Normally this isnt a problem for other designs of the technology, but we're soo zoom in for VR we can see this small differences and thus creates the Mura effect. You would need to test all panels for VR and correct the values at the controller level to better fix the issue (aka, going back to the software fix), but without a way to really test them out in the field - it becomes impossible to really push for that. The other problem is that groups of sub pixels wear out differently - so the problem will come back over and over again. Again, both LCD and Oled have this issue - the only problem is OLED has a faster wear leveling than LCD thus the problem doesnt show up as much for LCD. The trade offs of course is OLED vs LCD still stands - so I would rather have OLED or move to something other than LCD if we can later on. Mura was not a big glearing problem for me - even if black enviroments only because it added the feeling of what I normally see in dark areas. Aka, some people also live with a mura effect on the daily because their eyes also pick up light differently. OLED still has more Pro than Cons if you ask me something I think most people can live with vs all the Cons LCD brings to the table over all. In the future, I know its something both LCD and OLed is working on - even new VR displays also know this is a problem and working hard to correct for this. I know single stacking Pixels (having all three colors) stack can help with some of this and its the future for the smaller screen designs and helps with the spacing between the groups (smaller SDE).
I have been into VR since BEFORE the oculus was dreamt of, I had iGlasses with no head tracking back in the day and used to hook it up to my PC and try to play FPS games at 320x240 per eye and move my head along with the mouse to get the immersive feel... so I know a thing or two about where we came from. I have tried or owned every single oculus headset except the quest pro, I have a Vive, and even a Razer OSVR, and the PSVR2 is by far the absolute best experience of any of them by far... I do see the pixel format issue you're talking about but it's not nearly as big of a deal as you're making it. Compared to the shitty blacks on anything without an OLED it wins by miles, I just wish I could play elite dangerous on PC with it. None of that is meant to insult you or your channel, you do great work and I love your content, just throwing my opinion out there.
I agree with your review. It annoyed me to notice how much mura was noticeable.... and then I got over it. The crazy small sweet spot an god rays are also annoying but I am having such a blast with a lot of games that I got over those too. Games like GT7, Horizon, Pistol whip, Les Mills, Drums Rock and Zombieland, to name a few, are simply fantastic on this headset. I even enjoy After the Fall now that we have joysticks. It was simply unplayable with the move controllers.
I’ve played over 10 different games on my PSVR 2 headset and haven’t had any issues with mura affecting my experience. When consciously looking for it, it was extremely faint and not near as bad as the example video you gave. After I noticed it and began focusing on the game world instead of nearly crossing my eyes to find the mura, I have never seen it again. I’d imagine it would vary from headset to headset, but mine is not an issue at all.
I don't mind the grainy image, given all of the features that the PSVR2 has. VR for me over the last 6 years has been accepting compromise. First with the screen door affect on the Vive and Vive Pro. Then the HP Reverb G2 it was a limited max IPD, which was just too small for me, and Windows Mixed Reality (horrible). The Vive Pro 2 was dissapointing, compaired to the older Vive's, they reduced the max IPD from 74mm to 70mm, the lens sweet spot was too small, all of this made it useless for me. Now I use a Pimax 8KX, which is just big and still has some very small screen door affect, is fiddily to set up, but otherwise is fantastic.
i love you talking about the mura effect and how it drives you insane and is sometimes all you can focus on because i have a condition called visual snow thats like that but in real life and oh my GOD that little rant you went on captures the feeling perfectly lmao
My first VR experience and aside from the eye strain I get after an hour or two it's pretty good, for the mura I suggest turning the way down brightness, in Horizon it's almost completely got rid of it (not sure how it isn't in other games because I've just got Horizon rn) so just go in and out of setting adjusting the brightness till you get that sweet spot and you're set
Got here 15sec after release by accident. Looking forward to your take on the headset Already gotta edit: yes. The Build quality was a sour surprise to me as well. It's okay, but dissappointing for the price
thank you so much for this review, theres so many hollow reviews of the PSVR2 out there, it feels like this is the most complete and true one. for instance, this is the first time i ever see a review talk about this mura effect.
Thank you! Finally someone is honest about the PSVR2. I do love it but as someone who has been fully invested for many many years I just can't get over that mura on it. Everything else screams top of the line VR but that completely kills the immersion for me personally.
If there was a chance they'd release a PC driver, I'd have preordered it months ago. I get that it's subsidized kind of like the consoles themselves, but damn it would be great to have one purchase to have for my PS5 AND upgrade my OG Oculus.
Having been spoiled by high-end PCVR headsets, I was also disappointed initially with the numerous issues on PSVR2. My expectations were just over-inflated. having gotten used to it over a week, I'm finding the flaws to be acceptable considering its running triple-A games on a console. RE: Villiage VR in HDR got me so immersed, reminded me of how I felt playing Half-Life Alyx for the first time.
I really don`t understand why more PC users don`t seem to be aware of the mod scene. There are perfect mods that let you play Res Evil 2,3,7,8 and numerous other AAA games already / All Unreal games very soon. These games look vastly better on PC because you can use super sampling to effectively increase the perceived resolution of the headset. After having played through RE8 on pc , I was shocked by how bad it was on PSVR2 (visually) aside from the colors PSVR2 is really poor IMO.
This is as of now the most powerful standardized hardware combo in the VR market. People underestimate how standardization can help in expediting development and lower costs in the process. VR developers would be stupid not to bring their games to the system considering they can completely tailor the experience on actually capable decent mid-range hardware that's not too dissimilar to the PC hardware they're already developing for. Maybe in 5 more years you'll be able to get a similar experience in a Quest form factor but until then, this is the best entry into VR available and it is guaranteed to succeed because of it.
Quest 3 is already powerful enough to bring games like Half-Life: Alyx natively to standalone. The "practical game limitations" is WAAAAAAY smaller than you seem to think. Shit, even games like Asgard's Wrath II can run on Quest 2, let alone even Quest 3! Also, developers aren't stupid. Nobody that isn't directly funded by Sony is making PSVR2 exclusives. EVERYTHING ELSE on the system is an uprezzed Quest port because THAT'S WHERE THE MONEY IS! "not too dissimilar to the PC hardware they're already developing for".... What the hell VR developers are you even talking about??? O_o NOBODY makes PCVR exclusives anymore! The last notable one to release was Lone Echo II in 2021!
As an early VR adopter, and regular Quest 2 user, I’m thoroughly enjoying my PSVR. That said, I agree with all of your concessions about the headset, well stated review!
The PSVR original had that Mura effect as well - and when I switched up to PCVR, the Reverb G2, I really - really did not miss the color richness and deep black levels nearly as much as I was glad to be rid of the Mura. Until the PSVR2, I wasn't even aware this was a wider problem in OLED screens. My only experience with OLED before was the PSVita - which had an absolutely gorgeous display. I had just figured the PSVR used sub-standard low-quality screens. Now I'm reconsidering my purchase of a PSVR2 pending release of PC official/community drivers. I still really like the single-wire interface and eye-tracking in a mass-market headset, but it's really not much of an upgrade compared to my current headset... and a downgrade in many areas. I guess it's really just a waiting game to see what Valve announces with the Deckard, but all indications so far seem to point to it being more of a Meta competitor, rather than an Index upgrade.
It's Increadible... Your Video Production Skill and Video Quality is phenomenal for a person that watches your videos since the beginning... its great. Everytime a Video drops I know its a great one thats highly entertaining... and I notice this in the past few months a lot. Also I love the Drum & Base with these retro aesthetic keep your head up! ^^ LG snokie
I paid $1700+tax for my RTX 4090. The total cost of a PS5 and a PSVR2 makes it a great bargain. If they bring social VR apps to the PS5, which will inevitably happen, then it'll hit really hard against PCVR. I don't even mind that. VR needs plenty of competition to keep the fires burning at these companies. Bigscreen Beta and VR Chat would be the obvious choices to begin with. Meta owns Beat Saber, but there are plenty of other alternatives like Audiotrip for example. Basically what I'm saying is that PSVR2 is purely in Sony's hands to make successful, and it won't be hard to do.
Ok, but you don't need a 4090 for VR. Or a 3090, or 2080 super. You can build a relatively cheap VR ready PC setup, your bad purchase doesn't make the psvr2 a great bargain...
The smartest move for Sony would be to open it up to the PC market. Even if they do that "unintentional" through "leaked" drivers. It would force the industry in the right direction. The direction consumers want to go anyway, not what certain CEOs think. Horizon is an amazing IP and an PSVR exclusive. Buying a console to play just one title isn't unheard of.
Weird, the Mura effect doesn't bother me at all, it's super subtle except for some scenarios, and even then if you don't look for it, it's a non-issue. My only "disappointment" so far has been the graphical fidelity of the games. Not the display, mind you - some less demanding or well-tuned games like Song in the Smoke look SUPER crisp. But then you have RE8 which yes, looks really good in terms of textures, models and effects. But... the resolution can get really low. I think they use some kind of dynamic resolution so there are times when I'm like this is great! But more often than not you see something that looks straight from PSVR1, low-res and lots of jaggies and shimmering which detracts from the otherwise great graphics. Hopefully as time goes on developers will learn to better utilise the foveated rendering and we get AAA games running at native resolution
One large thing people forget is that this is the first time a (modern, no funky move controllers) vr headset is availabe outside the US, Canada and Europe with full post-sale services and full warranty. This is massive. No other vr headset making company has the worldwide infrastructure and logistics setup to afford this, which means that if something goes wrong with the hardware, 600-1000+ usd of hardware wont go down the trash. Im in Mexico and this is the reason why I haven't dared to foot the bill and try VR until now. This will bring modern VR experiences to a lot more countries and people and I think that's pretty neat. With its good and its bad things i suppose.
I love pretty much everything about this headset, besides the reprojection in the games I've tried so far. It's almost a deal breaker for me. Anyone know if this can be corrected in software or firmware updates? Also my right controller has to be reset upon every startup of a game, so that's an annoyance.
They're using a system similar to SteamVR or ASW on PC which is terrible. They should have built a system like AppSW on Quest that actually works. Without getting into the technical details, this would require more work from game devs but would have eliminated all the issues people are having. Making the change now would require the games to all be patched.
I'm confused about the lack of people talking about the HD rumble. If I'm not mistaken they are the only vr controllers that have it and it feels incredible. Reminds me of how well tuned the joy cons on switch were with 1 2 switch. Feels so real and with thos triggers. If modders don't get this working on PC I'd like to see the controllers get added in some way. Though I guess a game would have to be made or modded with those features in mind. But it's so good. I do wish the headset felt stronger and they included like pulse headphones or something in box. The grainy look is annoying but compared to the color depth, contrast, accuracy and lack of halo effect makes it worth it I think. Still minor screen door but better then quest, rift, or vive. It also seems brighter?? Haven't had the privilege of touching an index or pimax though.
I find it funny that while the Valve Index is about 4 years old, it is still the benchmark for other headsets to compare to. So does that mean that if you want to get into non-stand alone VR, the index is still the way to go?
I'd avoid it imo. I returned my Index bc the washed out colors, atrocious god rays, insane ips glow and uncomfortable controllers. It made me wish I didn't sell my Samsung Odyssey+.
Love how you giggle at your own words, Techno Jesus, keep it up. I'm going to bed soon. "Eye tracking" is a pretty funny thing to say though, honestly...
I really feel like they could've gone with pancake lenses and an LCD screen. Pancake lenses are more expensive but they also would've cut costs with the LCD screen instead of the OLED. The mura issue would've been gone and I've also heard LCD screens are more clearer for VR. The headset wouldn't be so damn huge which is what mostly makes it look so outdated nowadays in VR. I can't imagine how lightweight the headset would've been with pancake lenses, it would've been absolutely perfect..
Didn't expect to see my Reddit post on here. Haha. I'm happy to report that while the controllers are sometimes awkward and do cause some hand fatigue in certain games (especially if you have to continuously hold in the grip buttons while walking around with the thumbsticks), at least it's still playable. I played Pavlov for 45 minutes yesterday, and my hands ached by the end, but that's my fault because I refuse to use toggle grip for the guns. It throws off my reloading if I do. Edit 2: I played Pavlov for 3 hours today and by 2 hours in my hands were killing me. I kept dropping guns etc… I’m going to tweet at them to see if they can add hybrid grip like RE8 has.
Definitely gonna get a psvr2+PS5. It has its issues but the main one (Mura) I already deal with with my cv1, so it would purely be an upgrade for AAA VR games.
I would love to see an in depth video about PSVR2 on PC, now that the official PC adaptor is available. It ads a lot of value, but loses some awesome features.
I'm not getting a PSVR 2, but it does make me excited. The possibility of this reviving the high end side of VR makes me so unbelievably happy, as much as I love VR hardware, the only thing that give VR any long term value is the games and software behind it
My Thrustmaster T300 + Wheel Stand Pro V2 + IKEA Poäng are very happy with this 💟 Already ordered slap-on subscribtion lenses at an VR Optician so I don't have to wear glasses or contacts. Amazing times we live in!
I already have a Quest 2. But I did pick up this headset. I did instantly notice the mura, but I can get over it. It's not noticeable to me when actively playing a game. So that's good. I really like it. I haven't touched my Quest in a week. I am actually considering selling it off. As I'm not super interested in Meta's plans. However, I am holding off for now to see where this PSVR2 is going. I am very happy with it, but it's future is a question mark. As long as the game library grows sufficiently, I'll be happy. There's enough to keep busy for now, but they need to get new games out fast. Be that ports, hybrids, or new. Beat Saber is coming thankfully. That's my favorite VR game, and it's kind of weird that it's not there already given how popular it is.
I hated my PS VR2 because of this granularity in the image and it also feels blurry. I also thought mine had come out defective, unbelievable...
Also once I noticed this granularity, now my motion sickness got worse. Any PC VR you recommend for someone with motion sickness?
It’s a terrifying feeling and it’s a total game changer.
trueee
Guess what? You don’t have to install an anti-virus program on your ps5. God I hate Windows OS with a passion of Christ ❤️🔥🤦🏻♂️
@@epicstark990 😂 I’m with you there, I love PC gaming but absolutely hate Windows

ok ok just think about this ,a new Steel Battalion game in VR and with those crazy controller now that the ultimate simulation
The pc is doing my head in, something always goes wrong. I am thinking of getting it, just for the simplicity.
Does the Mura bother you?
I am on RTX3060 and I don't have to make "infinite adjustments", except playing with a few graphics options. Yours sounds like one giant BS statement. PCVR is somehow worse because of "infinite adjustments"? Get the f out of here!
@Random_4U bro, I'm yet to be bothered or notice the "mura" ..people say things and the sheep herd follows suit and brings things up to no end..its seriously a non-issue and isn't even present if you ask me.
no man's sky on PC? launch oculus, link headset, launch steamvr (and whatever other apps you normally use with it like OVRAS and overlays), close all the trash apps bogging down performance, then launch no man's sky
no man's sky on psvr? connect headset, launch no man's sky
psvr2 is probably a better starter headset than quest in my opinion (especially for those not as technically inclined) for the simplicity alone ngl
After seeing this, it tells me that The future of VR will be massively effected by the PSVR.
Hopefully it goes positively
@@Virtualblueart echo sports was never that popular lol. Its cool but lost most of its players because its pretty basic
They even added floaters to virtual reality. Truly the most immersive experience.
What’s floaters?

At first I noticed the Mura a ton and it drove me insane. Once I got a few hours into some of the games I was playing (mainly Resident evil), I just stopped noticing it and it became almost invisible to me. It’s still there for sure, but I have to really focus to see it.
Yep, was a little disappointed but once I played GT7, RE8 and Pavlov... It all went away, very happy with it 👍
For me I've noticed it:
-During my first time in GT7's showroom VR
-During the credits of Horizon
that's it for now
Had the same experience. I can only notice the flaws if I stay still and focus on them, but as soon as I start actually playing a game, all of that fades away.
I've played through Horizon and most of RE8 and haven't noticed it. I guess I got lucky and bought one of the units lacking of mura!
Turn brightness down to zero
The issue with the PSVR2 isn't technical. It's the closed garden approach on the consoles. We already know how this will end up, as great as the tech might be.
And we also know Sony's track record of supporting accessories/lesser selling hardware with new games...
Let me guess anything except for steam is closed am i right

Well that day is here. Sony just announced they’re working on PC support for PSVR2
@DrAnimePhD Crazy right! Thought modders might figure it out at some point but the fact that Playstation themselves announced some sort of PC solution for this year is HUGE! Can't wait! 🍻
@etic I just hope the PSVR2 will work on Linux since I'm a Linux user
This is one of your best and (bizarrely) introspective videos. Your passion and obviously joy in what you do & in VR in general is admirable. I run a PC and a Quest 2 currently & honestly, your unadulterated joy in aspects of this console setup in terms of the experience, makes me want to go out and spend the 1000 units of currency. For me as a 52 year old fella and my 10 year son it seems like something incredibly accessible and fun.
Hey thank you so much! Put a lot of extra work into this one. Was kind of stressful fitting it all into one video!
@@ThrillSeekerVR it shows brother. Thanks
I took mine over to show a mate & after using it for under 5min he left to go buy a PS5 & VR2.
The other factor is how expensive the games are compared to PC
I loved this 3 games too ! I would add pisthol whip to the list, it is amazing too
Fighting words adding Pavlov into that list there, given how the PSVR release completely killed the game on PC. All those years of modding, down the drain.
This has gotta be another massive step into mainstream VR, along the lines of Quest 2 and the Index. I don't own one, nor a PS5 but I can't deny how awesome this is.
I've got a Quest 2 and a PSVR 2. VR has not taken any massive steps. It is still so fringe as to be still unimportant in gaming.
I say "Mainstream VR" for a very specific and literal reason
It's a big step in making VR more _mainstream_ .
Great point that's often overlooked
Isn't there only 3 oculus with a 4th coming, and support only dropped for the first headset, which sold like half a M?
@@ConservativeJuggaloPodcast it still set a precedent for how quick they are to drop hardware after a short release , eg the quest 3 is coming out but how long before a quest 3 pro or quest 4 a year.....maybe 2 it's not long enough for the initial cost , when you buy a console for example you know your getting at least 5 years out the machine maybe more
@@ConservativeJuggaloPodcast there’s the rift, rift s, Quest, Quest 2 and they’re working on another headset currently, and there was one that’s older than the first rift but I don’t remember what that one was called

Thank you for actually talking about this. I just got my PS vr2 and have the exact same experience. I’m just really trying to get over it lol. I just wish most other reviewers would mention this as well. As they may have set the expectation a smidge too high.
Call Sony they can fix or or give you a new head set. I had it 2 bad and they finally gave me one good.
@@Thezuule1 Game consoles these days do more than just play games.
@@ManlyOBeeferton I'm aware. They're game consoles not productivity tools though.
@@joos3D
Depends. You can implement foveated rendering globally, I believe.
@@2010ngojohow? Varjo aero doesn't implement globally
All the synth, sequencer, and mixer lights shining and going bleep bloop is hypnotic :3
But yiss, excellent video as always. I was hoping for a bit more from the PSVR2, buuut do'h well, it's at least a big step in the right direction for the industry.
The song is one of my favorite, the second half of Borealis/Contrastellar by 65daysofstatic from No Man’s Sky OST just in case someone’s wondering
That shot is high tier wallpaper material
I experienced the grain thing as well and honestly it’s not bothersome for me. Usually I just don’t think about it and it’s not there anymore (well it is I just don’t process it). Still get incredibly immersed
Same, it's 100% there and apparent but once I'm in a game I don't even think about it, the brightness the blacks the colors and clarity are still fantastic, it's just a con, and it doesn't have to be perfect as I really enjoy it, my biggest complaint would be the front pad is not the most comfortable. It squishes my forehead 😑, although that could be user error idk
I find it's dependant on game and scene most of the time, some games can't see it at all others it's there can see a slight fuzz but it's nowhere near as bad as people let on at the beginning, I think turning the brightness down and regular use actually lowers the effect too , sure it was more noticeable in gt7 when I first played it compared to now
Great Review , absolutely loving the VR2 . If you already have the Ps5 then it’s well worth the investment 👌👌
I'm old and get the blur in normal reality, should be fine.
I'm getting too old:.-/
That’s not true. You see it everywhere. Always.
@@rwestvang I'm just stoked they updated thumper, man that game is awesome, on weed.
@@tomstacey1103 nope I had a rift s and quest 2 for pcvr only but for the price I can imagine
Have you done a full night race in GT yet? If you haven't, prepare to have your mind blown!
Funny enough when I had a reverb G2 the mura was one of the reasons I returned it. And it's not even oled. Overrated headset to me.
@@CosmicComputer I 100% agree with you, it was amazing !
Is the Reverb G2 worth it these days? I have an original Rift CV1, would love to replace it, but nothing looks worth it currently.

Cosmic Smash is coming back though, which is something

I was in the fence before this video, now I’m locking in my order!🔥
Very sensible and (as usual) in depth review, Thrill.
Hope you'll have reason to do an update in 6 months to a year because the quality and quantity of the library has caught up with the headset.
I will say, though my usual motto is, "Never try anything new; let someone else try it first, and see if it kills them," this is the first VR headset I've actually gone full "early adopter" on by pre-ordering.
I actually love the headphones they included with the headset. I tried using my steelseries Arctic’s nova 7’s but they just felt uncomfortable with the headset, and I just ended up going back to the included headphones.
me to but i want a 3rd party to make better ear bud for the head set i dont want head phone its to much on my head and it hurts my neck and it kept pushing my head set out of the sweet spot
alot of reviews say how bad they are but i really enjoyed them to
Yeah they’re fine and comfortable
@@notlNSIGHT no they want that sweet 30% on every software purchase. Until there is a PlayStation PC store that they can lock you into
Yeah it would be nice to have PC support, Sony definitely wants you to buy their software to recoup the cost.
The first one was kinda complicated with co-processor connections and stuff.
that was just screendoor effect that was caused by low resolution
Damn son that a f%#king review right there. The honest good bad and ugly. I’ve seen some reviews where nobody even mentions the grain like wtf idk. Thanks for all you do sir 👏🏽

That "Grainy filter" Effect is exactly why I got rid of my Vive Pro. I didn't mind the Screen Door Effect, but the Mura thing really pulled me out of the immersion... and I went back to my index.
Thank you for your honest reviews and dedication to the VR industry
Hay do u have a pc
Absolutely loving my PSVR2 so far!
Great video. The perfect VR headset doesn't exist. They all have ups and downs, and it's great to hear that this one is so heavy on the ups, especially since it's in its own corner of the market. I am a bit worried with the miura, though, and what that means for the Pimax Crystal.
Mura is overblown , definitely there but nowhere near as bad as the loud mouths on the internet claim , some games it's non existent
And don't quote me on this just going from my experience, I think the mura is worse on new screens after some regular use I'm sure the screen has worn in so to speak and it's less pronounced now , was either that or an update improved it and It took me awhile to notice
I mean I recently put 2 separate people in gt7 and asked them did they notice anything wrong with the image and only thing they mentioned was some stuff disappearing in the rear view mirror , nothing about any fuzziness etc and these were two people with little to no vr experience
As long as VR is not getting out of this niche, there are two options for games that are developed as VR specific games:
1. Get the price to the same level of flat games and deliver with less content
2. Get the amount of content to the same level of flat games but sell it at a hinger price
Horizon Cotm is an example for Nr.
Do it man.. you won't regret it.
a legit cool story broseph. I'm among the digital car guy sector as well, never gave a shit about cars till I played GT3 on PS2.

😢 sorry yo hear that but it is also worse for others that can’t even see. I guess we all enjoy life as we can :). Have a great day!
psvr 1 had sceen door effect like most headsets back then
“Expensive” isn’t this the same guy who’s tested a $7,000 VR? And the popular Valve Index?
Probably why the internal rectangular screen looks a little lopsided to me, no matter how I tilt my head while resetting the image.
I love the intro music! Good video man as usual lol
edit: one thing I forgot to add was that I love the office!
I got PSVR 2 the first day and I can confirm he made an awesome honest review.
Big up for mentioning REZ!! my favorite VR game for life
I’ve played over 10 different games on my PSVR 2 headset and haven’t had any issues with mura affecting my experience. When consciously looking for it, it was extremely faint and not near as bad as the example video you gave. After I noticed it and began focusing on the game world instead of nearly crossing my eyes to find the mura, I have never seen it again. I’d imagine it would vary from headset to headset, but mine is not an issue at all.
alot of people have the same experience with GT7, myself included. It's amazing how good it looks in VR

Holy crap, a horror game changing things when you blink is a FANTASTIC use of eye tracking.
Youl get more used to it as time goes on and eye strain will be less of an issue

Love to hear your opinion/review. I trust it more than some of the other Tech Reviewers.
I'm waiting for valves next move. But they need to do it soon
It's Increadible...

@@4547466 youre not running anything close to the quality of gt7 and re8 with any less than a 3080
The smartest move for Sony would be to open it up to the PC market.
Hopefully as time goes on developers will learn to better utilise the foveated rendering and we get AAA games running at native resolution
graphics still looks the same when comparing both side to side from tv, but i can see it worse in VR , that's my only complaint too ...
I kinda can't find anything better which sorta sucks ngl
So is the comparison between psvr+ps5 vs quest 2+pc still coming?
Definitely gonna get a psvr2+PS5. It has its issues but the main one (Mura) I already deal with with my cv1, so it would purely be an upgrade for AAA VR games.
Mura is way worse than screen door effect
Finally an honest genuine review none of this crystal clear rubbish like from other VR UA-camrs. Thank you! 🍻
Can you pin me?!?!
I would love to see an in depth video about PSVR2 on PC, now that the official PC adaptor is available. It ads a lot of value, but loses some awesome features.
This thing doesn’t give me hope
Your opinion is so important! no one cares lol
I agree this thing is bad as hell
@@TKbeatwerk I care it's bad as hell lmao who would buy this poop
It must be very hard to have hope living in Moms basement tho
There is no hope. Hope is a dangerous thing. It can drive a man insane.
Thanks for the review Thrill. It was well worth the wait!
Putting VR chat on the platform would double the adoption overnight 😅
Interesting but of A-B testing you got going on with the thumbnail and title. I am happy to see a much more balanced approach to this review.
I'm not getting a PSVR 2, but it does make me excited. The possibility of this reviving the high end side of VR makes me so unbelievably happy, as much as I love VR hardware, the only thing that give VR any long term value is the games and software behind it
My Thrustmaster T300 + Wheel Stand Pro V2 + IKEA Poäng are very happy with this 💟
Already ordered slap-on subscribtion lenses at an VR Optician so I don't have to wear glasses or contacts. Amazing times we live in!
Yep i have the exactly same issue. Finally a reviewer bringing that up. Thanks, i was thinking also that my VR was defective but it s the Mura effect
Please note REZ eye tracking gameplay is called ‘Area X’ and as thrill said it’s awesome
Rez is just so stellar I'm glad I finally tried it last year
hey man wanted to let you know you are a great channel, keep up the good work and thanks for the entertaining videos
