how is the THEATER mode? watching movies or even playing regular/non Vr titles. i loved that feature on the original psvr. hope this one has that feature.
I tried the PSVR2 for the first time at my brother's place, the experience was beyond anything I had imagined. Playing Gran Turismo was an absolute thrill, especially in his driving sim setup. I'm no car enthusiast or play car games often but, if I owned the PSVR2 with his setup, I would not play any other game besides Gran Turismo.
Love the video, the only advice I can give to people is do NOT try to push through motion sickness. As soon as you feel it stop and come back when you feel good, it'll help you get your VR legs much faster
This! Most of the people can grow vr legs and vr wings,. It just needs patience, and as you say, always stop when the motion sickness starts. I needed 2 weeks (oculus quest), and now I can play anything for hours. 2 weeks maybe sounds a lot, but it is totally worth it.
Yeah I tried to push through a few years ago on PCVR playing that cyberpunkish flying car demo. That was a huge mistake. It literally took my breath away.
I turned off the snap turning in Horzion and it was slowly giving me motion sickness. Once I turned it back on it was all good. Definitely not something to just dive into without a little ramp up.
For real I don't know why I keep hearing people talk about powering through. It's like do you hate yourself do you like to feel sick😂🤣 If I felt sick one time. I would stop playing before I felt sick and slowly extend my play session .
@@agtjackbauer My experience was such a weird feeling I have never felt anything like that before and I hope I never feel it again. Luckily I have pretty good vr legs
Got it two days ago and had two 40 minute sessions of Horizon Call of The Mountain. I had PSVR before but with this PSVR2, the quality and the immersion is a huge leap forward to it's predecessor. I recommend it 100%.
@tomorrowsyoutube7138 I got to say that you can not dive into hours and hours of VR gameplay, but it is fun nonetheless. I wouldn't give up the non-VR games for VR just yet, but Horizon and Resident Evil Village are something else. See if you can test it out somewhere or with a friend, and I would say you will like it. The VR2 is worth the money, seeing how much the PC ones cost, on top of a strong PC. You will get games designed for the PSVR2 so you will never have to worry about compatibility or lack of features. VR games are only going to get better.
do you happen to have Skyrim VR version? If so, could you check if it is compatible? It is literally the only game I got due to my cousin having the PS4 VR. But now it seems it is not compatible with the VR2 and no plans for the update to make it
@@JDarkAngeI It says on the store it is not compatible. PSVR and Move Controllers required. I hope they can do a remaster for Skyrim on VR2 also. As well, I would play Blade and Sorcery on VR2. Let's keep our fingers crossed that they will do it!
I pre ordered it, and I’m loving it. 100% recommended. I do get motion sickness after 20/30 minutes, but I’m slowly building up my resistance. The level of immersion is incredible. I’ve only played Horizon and RE8, and if this is the beginning, I cannot wait to see what the future games will look like!
Damn. That's the only thing preventing me from even considering going the VR route. I already get motion sickness from playing normal first person games 🤢🤮
You should try elastic motion sickness bracelets with the little ball that presses on the nerve in your arm, i used to feel horrible after 10 minutes and now i can play for over a hour with zero motion sickness
I think, I may have never commented on your videos before, but here we go: I picked it up purposefully to go VR Racing. Got back into racing games 2-3 years ago and tried to inch further ahead in terms of immersion and realism. In that regard I can only applaud the PS VR2. Not only for the quality but also for the pricing. I know, it has been one of the main criticisms about the hardware, but as you mentioned in the video, getting a PS5 and PS VR2 outright, instead of having to get a high-end gaming pc (which alone will set you back as much as the console and headset together) AND then pay another grand or more on compatible VR goggles… that’s just a much much higher entry-point. I would say. Not disregarding, that you’ll still have to pay somewhere around 1200€, just to get started. But as mentioned… VR experience on a PC still does have a much much MUCH steeper-level pricing. All I can say is that gran turismo 7 on the PS VR2 is almost a must for every racing enthusiast, who also appreciates the story and history of automobiles and likes collecting them, while also having a good driving experience. I would get into why I’m not calling it a good RACING experience (at least offline) but that is way beyond what’s been asked to report. Also… the micro transactions in GT7 are just an atrocious anti-gamer crime to behold… thanks for that Sony and Polyphony. But ey… can’t have it all, eh? PS VR2: 10/10 🎉
I’m loving RE village in vr. It’s incredible. Haptics are on point. I was so surprised when I shot the shotgun for the first time and I felt it all through my head. Insane.
I think controllers that track your fingers would have been more desirable. I have a Valve Index, and am so used to not having to hold the controllers, I can't go back.
I’m really sad no man’s sky isn’t getting more love. The fact that you get to play the entirety of the game in VR, with no caveats, is absolutely huge and I think it deserves more attention.
@@skankhunt4527 that's a bit dishonest I did some quick swapping and there's definitely improvements , yes it's still blurry at a distance but that blur is slightly lessened , up close textures are higher quality but it's like going from 720p to 1080p not huge but it is there , personally I find the controllers enough of an upgrade to enjoy the game more to get stuck into it but after seeing resi 8 I do feel they can go further , it's around on par with my rtx2070 pc but without the stutter so I'm happy
It's the finest VR experience I've ever had. Everyone going gaga over the distinctly average Horizon whilst NMS is just sitting in the corner keeping quiet and being awesome.
@@B727X What I'm saying is that, lately the VR games industry has been dominated by lower budget indie titles, and Sony is finally breaking the cycle by releasing big budget games, and bringing high-end VR gaming back to mainstream VR, for every platform, not just Playstation
Great experience. Picked up Horizon to see what it was fully capable of. No Mans Sky is always great in VR as well. I’ve also picked up Star Wars. Thanks for the recommendation about Gran Turismo. I hadn’t really considered that but it does seem like good possibility.
Never been a big VR fan but I really enjoy having the PSVR2 and the option to play these games when I want! GT7 is amazing with a steering wheel and pedals. I really recommend getting the charging station, it’s kinda annoying having to plug in both controllers to charge.
But like the ps5, wait until there are more games on it. VR is a niche product. Not being backwards compatible means you need to wait until devs port a lot of the good VR games to psvr2
@@teneesh3376 people that already play GT7 alot will get some decent value of out it like hardcore sim racers with dedicated rigs, but yeah it’s gonna be a while till the library builds up but atleast buying it shows Sony you want them to support it. That’s why I got it, that and cause I’m a sim racing enthusiast and have my own rig so the headset for me was well worth it just for one game.
@@dbzcollector9963 i mean you do you. Obviously your situation is insane, but interesting. I can kinda relate to a smaller scale. Having a modern TV and a crt tv playing the same things at the same time
@@teneesh3376 yeah it sounds crazy when I say it’s worth it just for one game but then again I’ve spent more on my wheel and entire setup just to get that bit more immersion the headset sorta just completes the setup. I mean I do play other games on it and enjoy them but for me GT7 is my main game and for it to be in vr for the console is huge not to mention they’ll most likely be making the next game vr as well so I’m really looking forward to that and whatever else they bring to the library. So far tho they’ve had better launch titles than something like the stand alone quest that only has mobile games and like 1 full game.
Was really excited for Gran Turismo on The PSVR2 but then disappointed the hand controllers don't work so you need to use a regular controller, looked into a steering wheel but the cheaper end steering wheels with petals (no shifter) that have decent reviews for GT7 run like $400, double that for the recommended ones, not sure it's worth it after spending $600 on VR
I got it and I was blown away! Downloaded all the demos and I’m working my way through them. I don’t have my VR legs yet so I’m playing in 15-20 min bursts. After watching this, I’m really interested in Gran turismo.
This seems like an amazing upgrade to the current PSVR. I barely play mine because it’s a chore to pull out all the cables, make sure the camera is set up right, find that weird usb charger that the controllers need, etc. I can’t wait to try this one
As usual Mr. Baldino providing the level headed professionalism the internet needs. You can be a fan and still be fair. There’s nothing wrong with criticism. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying yourself. This is how you editorialize. Well done as usual.
If you sometimes get motion sickness try placing a fan in front of you while playing. It'll stimulate moving irl which could help! I never felt much sickness but I did feel a bit while playing saints and sinners but this helped me a lot!
Horizon, What the Bat, Tetris Effect and Before Your Eyes are definitely catching my attention for PSVR 2 games but I’m definitely not ready to jump in on it yet considering that price point. I’m gonna wait it out for a while and if they add more cool games later down the road, I might try it out.
Exactly what I was going to do. I'm extremely excited about the hardware but there simply aren't enough games for me to justify spending that much money on it just yet.
@@PapaClay115 🤔 true so basically probably the OLED tech inside of it eye tracking and stuff like that I do agree I absolutely shite myself when I saw the price given its wired
Motion sickness has nothing to do with your stomach but the vestibular apparatus in your inner ear which is there to give you your orientation in 3 d space and help your brain make sense of what it sees in relationship to you and your distance and angle to it. Some people have legitimate issues with processing information that doesn't line up with where they are in space in relationship to what they are seeing. motion sickness is your brain telling you something is wrong between where you are and what you are seeing for example climbing a ledge while both your feet are firmly on the ground...
For me, the fact that I already owned GT7, RE8 and No Mans Sky meant that along with the Horizon bundle I have plenty to play without going too deep into my pockets above the cost of the unit itself. Worth mentioning though that the other game I purchased was the Star Wars experience. Highly recommended! I like it more than Vader Immortal.
I grew bored of the PSVR 1 pretty quick. I would occasionally jump in-nice option. With the PSVR2, I constantly want to jump back in. RE8 and GT7 have been my top games. Horizon is good but in shorter bursts(more scenic than engaging). Kayak mirage is a good introduction, especially for family/friends. Ragnarock is surprisingly fun and a hidden gem. I’ve experienced significantly less motion sickness with the PSVR2 compared to the PSVR1. Loving it.
Do you also think a lot of that comes down to the minimal set up? That was the main killer for me on psvr1. Having to set up the box and all the wires etc. This, yeah I wish it was wireless, but one cable makes it so easy to just jump in and play something.
I don't remember when was the last time I felt so excited about playing with new toy. Really amazing and even with current game lineup it provides a lot of fun. Horizon, Resident Evil and Gran Turismo feel so good! I was not expecting that.
I'm very interested. I think the key for this to sell well is for it to actually be easy to demo in stores before you buy. Hopefully Sony will partner with GameStop and/or Best Buy to get demo units in local stores before Christmas this year.
I agree, I’ve been so interested in getting a vr headset since I got my ps4 a few years ago and all these people are saying it’s amazing and I want to experience it myself before I buy one
I bought a PSVR2 and I really love the hardware. It is my first VR headset that I own. GT7 in VR is jaw-dropping. I think the biggest worry for me is that a lot of the games I really want to play on the PSVR2 rely on the kindness of Sony's competitors -- a Minecraft PSVR2 update, a Skyrim PSVR2 update, and a Half-Life Alyx port. I also really, really want to play Genshin in VR.
I'm just hoping that AAA studios will create games with vr in mind. I didn't pay $877 canadian to just experience indies in vr. I wish there was vr for the last of us(factions 2 maybe?), dead space and ace combat. But Capcom did announce that they're working on a vr mode for the resident evil 4 remake. I can't wait to play that.
PSVR2 is phenomenal! I've been getting into GT7 and Kayak VR especially. The latter is a real hidden gem- it feels like going on holiday anytime you want, it looks incredible (bordering photorealistic) and you can use it as a chillout or a workout. And I still get a chuckle out of feeling the convincing headset haptics when I hit my head on a low object because I didn't duck far enough. My only slight negative with the headset so far is that it sometimes does take a bit longer finding the sweet spot for visual clarity than before, but that is a small price to pay for the massive graphical step up from last gen when you get it. Also, cinematic mode looks great now, so I can watch Dune on a (virtual) big screen anytime I want!
I was so excited about PSVR but I felt the visuals was not good at all and I couldn’t tell if it was my vision or just the VR so I’m a little hesitant about getting 2
@@emyhR there's a few variables as to why PSVR1 might not have looked good for you. If you were playing on an OG PS4 then a LOT of (though not all) games struggled with VR. The OG PS4 is 10 years old at this point after all, and VR has increased processing requirements vs flat screen due to having to render two images at once (one for each eye). Having a PS4 Pro resulted in a significant improvement for a lot of games. PS5 with PSVR2 reduces the grsphical gap between flatscreen and VR even further thanks to foveated rendering and the fact that it was designed to handle VR from scratch. Then there was game selection. PSVR1 could still look pretty damn good with highly optimised (generally AAA) games. Wipeout Omega Collection, Moss, Rigs, the modern Hitman trilogy, Borderlands 2 and Resident Evil 7 to name a few all looked great, most of which were also Pro-enhanced. A lot of indie games didn't have the budget or manpower to get the most out of the aging hardware. That is a lot less of an issue now with PS5/PSVR2. I can't imagine anyone being dissapointed with the visusls of, say, RE8, Kayak VR or GT7. They are phenomenal. And all the games I've tried are a big step up from PSVR1. Combine that with adaptive triggers and headset haptics and you have something really special imo.
As an early VR adopter, motion sickness will happen but take your time and go slow. Play till you start to feel a little weird then take a break and come back when you feel better. Eventually you’ll notice lasting a lot longer as you get your VR legs
I think it's great that you are a vr guy, it gives us a honest review, you have experienced ohter vr sets so you know what to look out for and can give that information to us. Great review. Maybe I will look into getting one at Christmas or later, like you said depends on the games coming.
The cable length was an issue for me due to the way my gameroom is set up. I grabbed a JSAUX usb-c extension cable and it worked great. I've not seen any lag or loss in fidelity.
Mi hai dato una notizia grandiosa...avresti un link del prodotto almeno so da cosa partire per cercare quello che mi serve?Ho in mente di crearmi un sistema che mi tolga dal filo, appendendolo al soffitto probabilmente.
Finally, been waiting for y’all’s review. I got it launch day, but haven’t dived deep into it, waiting for a decent review from you guys.. perfect, thanks!
9:27 The Delorean also has a max speed of 88 MPH *on the actual speedometer* in the game (plus the digital clock matches live, real-world time) & it's clearly visible when in VR (albeit there is some missing functionality that can't be fixed in VR mode such as best lap in an online lobby & other live data).
The speedometer on the Delorean tops out at 85 (just like the real ones did). I think there might've been a USDOT regulation about that during the late seventies or early eighties. The ones in the Back to the Future cars were made for the movies.
IMO, this is the first VR headset that's good from all angles. The comfort and weight of the headset, the tracking is excellent, it's basically plug n play, and the visual quality is up there with the more expensive PC VR headsets. I also haven't experienced any bugs yet, which I can't say the same for the PC VR world. My only gripe is the cord is easily kinks, so i would advise not to roll it up when putting it away.
There's some great PCVR headsets but they're expensive AF and need a hefty GPU to be ran properly. I hope the PSVR2 encourages innovation in the PCVR space (especially the foveated rendering.)
The first VR headset that was allround great was the Quest 2 imo. I still prefer it over the PSVR2. It has sharper visuals, better tracking and is capable of playing wireless which is mind-blowing. Wired VR feels like a huge step back to me now.
I got the bundle with Horizon Call of the Mountain - it's an amazing experience thus far. I got to the fight with 3 scrappers at once yesterday and was leaping all over my living room trying to dodge and counter attack. That was a thrilling adrenaline rush like I've never had in a game before. Absolutely worth the price as far as I'm concerned and I can't wait to dive into more games. I've basically ignored my PS5 this gen - preferring my Xbox Series X and Game Pass over the PS5 - but now with the PSVR2 I think my Xbox is going to be collecting dust for a while.
The end of horizon has a chapter that was just on a whole other level of the rest of the game. I had to stop playing and call people to share the experience. It was that good.
Got it as my first VR set, and can't get enough of Drums Rock. Not a lot of great trucks, but it gets me going for like couple of hours straight. Didn't even start Horizons, but it's tgere, next on the list. If Sony provides some nice titles it's going to be a worth buy for me.
About good games, get pistol whip!!! I didn't believe the people praising it and bought it and holy cow words can't describe how amazing this game is. This alone makes the thing worth it for me already
Love this channel, susbcriber since 2 yrs now- I hit the like when the video just starts. And I love those other videos that falcon made. When Im about to buy a game , this is the 1st channel I checked.
This was awesomely presented! Loved the script especially. Made it really easy to absorb the info. Always wondered if it's worth picking up a PSVR(now 2) kit for my PS5 when I already have a Quest 2... Still undecided, but this is great stuff to know none the less! hahaha
I checked out The Light Brigade before RE8. Especially coming from that kind of low detail, I hit the RE8 menu and blurted out "oh holy fuck" in my living room. It looks AMAZING.
i know you guys were debating on talking about this, just wanted to say i really appreciate you guys putting in the work for us, the consumer. really curious about this device!
Detached was my VR limit. It was like a Zero-Gravity sim on PSVR. Not even Wipeout would get me sick. But spinning-around in a spacesuit was a bit nuts, and fun. I got into VR with the PSVR. Any game that gave me full-locomotion and I was happy with it. Older games that deserve an update to PSVR 2 on my list; Hitman, Wipeout, Hitman, SW Squadrons, Hitman, RE7, Hitman, and Hitman. 😄
Psvr 2 is legit . The plug and play , easy to use; cannot be overstated enough. On top of that the force feed back on the headset and the controllers are awsome . Saying this coming from an reverb G2 running on amd 6800xt gpu. Psvr2 is the real deal. BTW don't use NMS as a graphic showcase . Still looks like ass and doesn't really use the force feedback on the remotes that we'll. Every other game though. U in for a treat
I picked up the Horizon bundle. I had controller issues, but the reddit thread helped me fix it. It definitely seems to be some software issue as it makes the controllers (usually one) not work. Most seem to be the right one, mine was the left one and with horizon if you can't use the trigger, you can't climb. I have GT7 in transit and not sure what else I'm going to get. Wonder if they'll port Beat Saber as I hear that's a fun one.
Good balanced review, even being a fellow VR enthusiast. I wish it PSVR2 could be better than a cautious recommendation depending on the software lineup, but that's just where VR is right now. Kudos to Sony for making an awesome device. Hopefully more hybrid titles like RE8 and GT7 will follow. I've said it for a while now, people usually don't care about VR exclusive games, but they're curious about what it would be like to play their favorite flat games in VR. Maybe even curious enough to buy a headset and get converted :D
Lol, I noticed I have a comment on here from a year ago. Welp, today on Thanksgiving 2024, I purchased the VR2. Right now, you can get the PS VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle for $349... I purchased mine through PlayStation Direct for the Black Friday Sale. But im pretty sure the VR2 is this price everywhere right now. What a killer deal. There was no way in hell I was paying more than a PS5 for a VR. But $349.00 is definitely worth it. Wish I could find someone to buy my VR1. Oh well, I'll keep it in case they never upgrade some of the VR1 games onto VR2. Can't wait for it to arrive and I wanna buy the new Alien game for it. That looks sick.
2:47 Anyone else think they should have switch the square and circle on the controller? Probably will get use to it but naturally I think that square and circle being switched makes more sense

No Man's Sky is awesome. Resident Evil Village looks incredible. I was too scared to leave the room. So, I decided to jump back into GT7 and ended up playing 6 more hours yesterday. LOL

No hardware issues for me. Absolutely in love with this thing so far. RE8 and GT7 honestly feel like they may have justified it on their own for me. Nevermind all of the other cool experiences I’ve gotten to have with smaller games. I can guarantee that Astrobot will get either a rerelease or a sequel or both and that will also be great.
Dude RE 8 is the total exp, from start to finish. I put about 2 hours into it with 17 different save points for key moments. itll be the selling point for any of my friends that wants to try it out
I think it is best to have someone that likes VR to review VR hardware. I have seen reviews from some bigger wevsites that state that they aren't a fan of VR but they are atill doing the review for PSVR2, and all the critiques of PSVR2 were related to VR overall no just PSVR2.
It seems meta is paying for writers to compare the quest 2 and pro to PSVR2 and act like the quest 2 and pro are superior. They are saying ridiculous things like “it might just have an edge on the PSVR2- but only if your main focus isn’t gaming in VR’. Like who’s buying a PSVR2 not for gaming?? And every spec the PSVR2 is better: resolution, fps, angle of viewing. The pro does have a pancake lense over a fresnel. That’s it. But crazy majority of people will fall for this BS.
@@jamesfoster5165 Resolution is not everything, the alignment of pixels count aswell, and that makes the screen door effect bigger on the PSVR 2 compared to the Quest 2, even though the PSVR 2 has more pixels. However, I do prefer OLED, the black levels and colors are much more important than a little screen door effect
@@Canal10000 there is no screen door effect on the PSVR2. There is very slight mura which is difference in uniformity in brightness. Screen door is pixel gap which hasent been an issue since early 2000s and LCD technology. It’s never been an issue with OLED.
I got the old psvr last year. Years after the release. Despite how less advanced it was compared to others, I had a great time with it. Even my mother liked it, she liked the Until Dawn Rush of Blood game just because its like a ride. Resident Evil 7 was awesome in vr. I just ordered this one. Haven't tried any other vr headsets(no good pc), so this should be an amazing experience. Can't wait to replay re8 in vr!

A pro tip I was told by YT'ber thrillseeker was to put a fan near your TV so you 1) don't hit it because you are passively aware of the location and how strong the wind is to let you know if you are too close. 2) is to help reduce how often you get motion sick because since you feel wind you will likely trick some of your brain into believing that you are moving to some degree and motion sickness won't hit you as hard. Personal tip is to have the fan set low enough that it isn't interrupting audio during important dialogue during gameplay/cutscene. While having the fan speed high enough that you feel it
I really love the psvr2 so far! I experienced motion sickness and headaches a lot less with the higher frame rate and graphics. Shout out to the game Demeo, got a unexpected love for the game!
I want to take a minute and appreciate this guy jake on being so objective and straight to the point as he is. So many UA-camrs and personalities make things almost more about themselves then the content they are talking about. This guy is no bullshit and I like it very much. No offense but I don’t give a shit about you or your life or your jokes so it’s good to see a guy like this who just talks about the actual content without being the funniest guy in the world. I’m here too see a video about psvr2 not dave chappelle you know ;; Great video thanks 🤙
I'm really impressed with this VR it's my first for gaming. I had a Galaxy VR in 2015 that I would dock my phone into it until the phone started to change the form factor. Still, GT7 and RE8 are my favorite VR experiences as of now.
Phone VR is a joke. It's like saying that jacking off is close enough to real sex, so it's practically the same thing. I'm glad you get to experience real VR now!
@@adad87821 Yeah after this comment I made I've just been letting my mind go to all the Sony exclusive games that I love and just imagining them in VR and I'm having a great time lol God of War I think I might die though it'd be so fucking cool excuse my language
@@adad87821 To me God of War doesn't seem like a good VR port. It would be a big waggle fest I feel like. And kratos does too many spins and different things I just don't think it would translate to VR very well. Unless you're going to do it in 3rd person and then I'm totally down.
Walking dead Saints and sinners retribution should be fun. Really looking forward to that next month, and I’m excited for switchback because I really enjoyed rush of blood in psvr. At the moment, Gran Turismo is the coolest game on there. I’m having so much fun with it and I’m not even really into cars or racing. It’s such a cool experience especially if you get the wheel for it. Had my father and grandfather try it out and they were completely amazed by it.
I have a PSVR1, Reverb G2 w/ a 3090Ti, and Quest 2. Sure quality is great specially in the G2. But if you are on a budget, try the Quest 2. Honestly a good standalone system. You can even download custom games on it for free and even connect it to a PC or Macbook (I believe) down the line. You are going to want availability of games when you spend so much money on a VR device and unfortunately PlayStation doesn’t have that right now.
Dude GT in VR is so damn mind blowing because of how perfect the materials and textures are from the drivers seat. My brain did have a hard time adjusting to the car moving and my body being perfectly still while driving tho. Such a weird feeling lol
Yeah dude, its weird moving in vr while standing or siting at first until you get ur "vr legs". want a easy way to adjust seeing things flying by, Just point a fan at you while you play a walking or driving game to trick the mind that the air flow hitting ya is keeping you immersed and dry! My bro got one and im giving him pointers about how vr goes too, peace man.
I love my PSVR2. GT7 and RE8 are really mind blowing. Also Light Brigade and Pistol Whip have been a blast. It's leaps and bounds ahead of PSVR1. I'm super excited for Synapse and the Isaac Asimov game as well. There's plenty of games to keep me busy in the meantime tho. Puzzling places has also been a really relaxing pastime. All in all I have no regrets in getting this headset. I know the price is steep but to me it's been super worth it
You pretty much nailed the experience of owning a PSVR2. I'm just hoping the future games 🎮 will make it worth wild. So far I only have GT7 (which is amazing) & RE Village (makes the game a completely different experience). Just waiting for the library to beef up.
Horizon is a MUST BUY. They have a place where you can go on a boat safari. It’s literally like a Universal Ride with Robot Dinosaurs , it’s so CLEAR and worth it. I’ve road it at least 10 times LOL. I’m was kinda worried, since I”m not a huge horizon fan, but the boss fights are awesome, and I actually like the climbing. They have plenty of parts to keep you excited. Also, I have NO FREAKIN MOTION SICKNESS. I’ve literally played VR since it came out, and I always get sick 15 min into it. I played for hours and haven’t felt like throwing up. I’m not saying it’s a fix for everyone, but the frame rate has helped a lot I’m sure. RE8 was terrifying. But I’m kinda disappointed on the lack of games. They had so many great psvr games, they should have ported day 1. Obviously they will be coming later.. but it’s worth it IMO>
Best way I've found to get over motion sickness is to take a 15-20 minute break when you start feeling off, and have some ginger candy or ginger beer. Anything to help settle your stomach and get you back on even keel
Just got mine! First thing I had to play was Pistol Whip and its exactly what I wanted. The kit itself is fantastic for all the reasons already mentioned in this video and I'm really excited about the future for this thing.
I'm a 13 yo boy that is saving money to get something I like. I recently started wanting the ps vr 2. I already got re8 and I'm planning to get the vr with the horizon cotm and idk if it's worth, I keep changing my mind and I want you advice to see if you still use it or if it's collecting dust.
@@cunoob2783 I go on and off with it, but it's definitely not gathering dust. To me, I like to have something I can play over and over again, that's what keeps me coming back. RE8 and Horizon are probably both great experiences, but they don't interest me as much as a repeatable game that I can keep replaying and improving at. For me, it's been Synth Riders, Beat Saber, and Until You Fall which offer that kind of replayability that I crave. Your desires and experience may be different so make sure you have a lineup of games or something you don't mind going back to again and again.
Just finished RE village. Extremely good in VR. I hope all RE games get a VR port because Capcom is really good at them. Going to try Horizon and GT7 later on. My only complaint is the sense controllers last maybe like 5 hours, and while that's probably fine for most people I like longer play sessions.
Late to the party, just bought mine in the last 2-3 months. Love it so far. Super comfortable during most play sessions. Not sure if I've just not found the exact spot yet, but sometimes I do feel sore at the back of my head where the band rests and I readjust on and off throughout play. Biggest one I've buried myself in so far is Beat Saber. Play that A LOT and it really gets me sweating on the higher difficulties. Pistol Whip gets the heart pumping too. Both are rough with all the ducking I have to do, which tends to shift the headset out of the sweet spot and require adjustment, which isn't always easy mid level. COTM is great. Only just finished Sunspear the other day. It was the first game I tried though. But towards the end of my first hour, I felt the nausea and it was a few weeks before I was game to try again. Had to start over coz I could remember how to walk, lol. But damn, if those weren't some gorgeous visuals hanging off Sunspear and staring at the Horus and the waterfalls. Took a bunch of screenshots and finally saw the foveated rendering at work. You can really see in the screenshots where I was looking compared to the rest. Most of all, I am excited to get into it now. Have my PC Adapter on order and all the other bits and pieces here ready to go. I wanna play me some Taskmaster VR on Steam. And the expanded track options for Beat Saber have me excited too. So far, a no regret purchase. Even got my brother to try out Beat Saber more than once so far. Haven't made it far in No Man's Sky (controls were just so complex compared to controller) and I've only tried two races in GT7. Both made me naseuous, but one was right after my first COTM session. Might just take a bit of practice to get the hang of it. Also might not have been a great idea to race Leguna Seca as my first track. That drop is so much more vertigious in VR.
VR has always really intrigued me. I've tried it a few times but never wanted to invest all the money into it. I think I'll wait longer for it to become more mainstream, accessible and affordable.
@@jamespaul6315 Exactly it's only when we invest does the tech get better for everyone. If no one buys it it just fades away and we wont ever get it. Love my PSVR2 just WOW. If you have Phobias VR will make it real. Climbing a mountain side then looking down I was like woopsie maybe don't do that next time. After playing i was drenched in sweat lol. GG SONY very glad I got this.
This is the first time that a console has ever sigificantly beaten the PC side. PSVR2 is sigificantly better than any VR headsets for PC available now.
It can take time, it was about a month for me before I could play games that use the thumbstick to move. Just take it easy and give your body time to adjust!
I'm new to all of this. The last time I played a game like this was maybe 20 years ago with a friend who owned Wi (I think that's the name). I did bowling. It was pretty realistic. My path here was Indian wars on YT a few hours ago. --> Viking ships to North America videos ----> Middle East wars about 1000 years ago ----> Assassins (like the first assassins from the year 1050AD) -------> Saw the Assassins Creed game mentioned in one of the comments ----> Checked out the game. Of which I had 0 clue something like that even existed -----> Platforms that game could be played on ------> Here I am. I'm 2-3 times as old as most people who might read this. I wasn't aware of these games. I'd heard of Xbox and Playstation, but didn't know much about them. I can see where this stuff is entertaining. Is Play Station VR2 the best platform to buy? I see PS5, XBox, and a few others as platforms. Is there a way to try any of these out before I buy something?
For the power it has the price is more than fair, only problem is the possible lack of games. I made this mistake with the first headset along with its horrible power capabilities, may try this model out but only after more titles are released.
VR2 is my first VR experience, and I gotta say I'm loving it! Love the rhythm music games like Synth Rider. No man's sky gave me a little motion sickness, but it was a blast!
Since you're new to VR, take it easy with games like NMS where your body is being moved around by the game. Play these games for a little and take a rest as soon as you feel a bit queasy. Your body will adjust in time.
For motion sickness don't push through I did that and was sick for 10 hrs straight, chewing gum with a fan on your face works. Also Ginger candies can help
I went and picked it up yesterday and played horizon for the first time (haven't played vr since I was a teenager) I absolutely love it! It took me so long to sync back into reality after I took off the headset, my hands didn't feel like my own for a while hahaha the weirdest feeling ever
great hardware!

You just said O (oh) instead of O (circle) referring to a PlayStation controller

how is the THEATER mode? watching movies or even playing regular/non Vr titles. i loved that feature on the original psvr. hope this one has that feature.
If u switch to the room view mode does it automatically pause the game?

I tried the PSVR2 for the first time at my brother's place, the experience was beyond anything I had imagined. Playing Gran Turismo was an absolute thrill, especially in his driving sim setup. I'm no car enthusiast or play car games often but, if I owned the PSVR2 with his setup, I would not play any other game besides Gran Turismo.
It would be very difficult to play Hogwarts in a racing SIM setup
Same thing here blew my mind. Re8 is amazing too.
Or resident evil
@jeremyjames374 Then don't play in the simulator, lol.
This is good to hear as I JUST bought GT7, and PSVR2. Definitely looking forward to playing it in VR.
How does VR gameplay compare to playing non VR games? Is it worth it?

Pistol whip = good
Synth riders = great
Jk okay they are both great but my god is synth riders amazing
Damn. That's the only thing preventing me from even considering going the VR route. I already get motion sickness from playing normal first person games 🤢🤮
Have you played the far from home vr? Ive seen some get nauseous but i felt nothing so i expect the same from this
You should try elastic motion sickness bracelets with the little ball that presses on the nerve in your arm, i used to feel horrible after 10 minutes and now i can play for over a hour with zero motion sickness
If you haven't tried yet, I read that turning the brightness of the headset down to the lowest setting helps some people with motion sickness.
PS VR2: 10/10 🎉
yay, but my wallet says no
Do i have to buy a ps5 or can i just plug an play on my pc
I’m loving RE village in vr. It’s incredible. Haptics are on point. I was so surprised when I shot the shotgun for the first time and I felt it all through my head. Insane.

I’m really sad no man’s sky isn’t getting more love. The fact that you get to play the entirety of the game in VR, with no caveats, is absolutely huge and I think it deserves more attention.
The update didn’t improve the graphics. Looks identical to the VR1, blurry af.
The game is too old. It can be good but it's too old
@@skankhunt4527 that's a bit dishonest I did some quick swapping and there's definitely improvements , yes it's still blurry at a distance but that blur is slightly lessened , up close textures are higher quality but it's like going from 720p to 1080p not huge but it is there , personally I find the controllers enough of an upgrade to enjoy the game more to get stuck into it but after seeing resi 8 I do feel they can go further , it's around on par with my rtx2070 pc but without the stutter so I'm happy
But it's still nms. So starts off shit
It's the finest VR experience I've ever had. Everyone going gaga over the distinctly average Horizon whilst NMS is just sitting in the corner keeping quiet and being awesome.
I'm really glad to see the PSVR2 doing well, big budget VR games are what we need and that's exactly what this headset is bringing to the table.
What? I’m a console ps5 gamer but the pc ppl got similar priced headsets & game vr mods free or rly cheap

I got the bundle with Horizon Call of the Mountain - it's an amazing experience thus far. 😄

You forgot Hitman
Maybe even curious enough to buy a headset and get converted :D
least risky take of all time
same... wait... my wallet is saying no
Same, but it's expensive, that's what I'm thinking. Playing the flat screen games in VR
1:30 this man straight up violating that headset for no reason
2:47 Anyone else think they should have switch the square and circle on the controller? Probably will get use to it but naturally I think that square and circle being switched makes more sense
It’s maddening. My brain will not let me get used to it.
yooo me too man what is that. Seams logical to have Dominant x and non dominate circle lol
@@jamesfoster5165 I don't even have PSVR2 and I watched a couple of reviews/unboxings already and for some reason and I didn't even notice, I just assumed it was like that way. Then I watched this video and was like oh damn, it's not actually like that lol, just seems more natural that way for some reason but I could be wrong

No Man's Sky is awesome. Resident Evil Village looks incredible. I was too scared to leave the room. So, I decided to jump back into GT7 and ended up playing 6 more hours yesterday. LOL
Yes! Pavlov is amazing!

This was a really good overview. Time and effort definitely worth it!

Re8 vr mode has been incredibly solid. Pleeease Sony, keep supporting this product and make some nice exclusives.
Jake! I really appreciate you praising on how these headsets have been streamlined :D Greets from a day 1 2011 VR enthusiast []-)
No hardware issues for me. Absolutely in love with this thing so far. RE8 and GT7 honestly feel like they may have justified it on their own for me. Nevermind all of the other cool experiences I’ve gotten to have with smaller games.
I can guarantee that Astrobot will get either a rerelease or a sequel or both and that will also be great.
i love astrobot... wallet says no
Dude RE 8 is the total exp, from start to finish.

👌
I never played village. It’s a good experience in vr? Like to go in your first gameplay?
I'm really impressed with this VR it's my first for gaming. I had a Galaxy VR in 2015 that I would dock my phone into it until the phone started to change the form factor. Still, GT7 and RE8 are my favorite VR experiences as of now.
Those are my favorite too, but I liked Horizon as well.
Phone VR is a joke. It's like saying that jacking off is close enough to real sex, so it's practically the same thing. I'm glad you get to experience real VR now!
Honestly I think ps need to make more vr modes for their first party like the resident evil games

@@chrislair6832 Infamous would be off the freaking hook!!!
@@adad87821 To me God of War doesn't seem like a good VR port. It would be a big waggle fest I feel like. And kratos does too many spins and different things I just don't think it would translate to VR very well. Unless you're going to do it in 3rd person and then I'm totally down.
I ordered one on Friday. Can't wait to get it so I can play gran turismo 7 with my mates in vr. Plus I have got a wheel to make it even more immersive
I am very interested in seeing where they take the psVR2. I honestly enjoyed the games on the first one.
For real we have some good games coming in the near future!
You are going to want availability of games when you spend so much money on a VR device and unfortunately PlayStation doesn’t have that right now.
a lot of words that my wallet is saying no too
I'm kinda in a fourth world country so I can't afford all this stuff but I love watching you guys. You guys are doing good.
If you’re a gamer without PS5 and PSVR2, I don’t know what you’re doing at this point. It’s that good!
Dude GT in VR is so damn mind blowing because of how perfect the materials and textures are from the drivers seat. My brain did have a hard time adjusting to the car moving and my body being perfectly still while driving tho. Such a weird feeling lol
I got sick in about 10 minutes, walked away for a couple hours and tried again now I can play for hours
@@bigolchunk damn that's a great idea, and getting your VR legs is a wildly accurate way of putting it too lol. Thank you friend 👍🏾!
I know the price is steep but to me it's been super worth it
pistol whip is great arcade shooting experience
worth it or not my wallet says no
You pretty much nailed the experience of owning a PSVR2. I'm just hoping the future games 🎮 will make it worth wild. So far I only have GT7 (which is amazing) & RE Village (makes the game a completely different experience). Just waiting for the library to beef up.
i don't have those things, mainly due to my wallet saying no
Thank you I absolutely love my vr 2 it’s amazing to actually be put inside the game experience is breathtaking ❤
I don’t even need reviews from other places haha. Love Gameranx
I tried No Man’s Sky recently in VR and my word, it’s so immersive - I felt like captain Kirk.
👍🏼
Refresh rate (frame rate) is one of the key factors in motion sickness so there’s a high chance it will be a solution for most people.
no nononswlettsaysno

@@ProxyXIV Okay! Thank you so much.

Just finished RE village. Extremely good in VR. I hope all RE games get a VR port because Capcom is really good at them. Going to try Horizon and GT7 later on. My only complaint is the sense controllers last maybe like 5 hours, and while that's probably fine for most people I like longer play sessions.
I don't understand why every game can't have a VR port (even if it's just gamepad supported with no hand motion controls.)
my wallet is the piza og my existence
I have it and if you are coming from PCVR, it's not that impressive but if you are coming from the psvr 1 or quest, it's a good upgrade
Seems to be the fair takeaway. And if you don’t have a gaming PC but have a PS5, it’s the best way to experience VR for the price.
@@MusicalWhiskey that is me. It’s good but I’m really curious how it will look with new software in 2 years
9 months later and I finally got a PSVR2 and all I can say is I'm glad I did. This thing is amazing!
I hope you try it one day, its fantastic
good choice. I agree

It can take time, it was about a month for me before I could play games that use the thumbstick to move. Just take it easy and give your body time to adjust!
😍 That Robocop framed pic. Oh, and the headset looks great too. :)
Is there a way to try any of these out before I buy something?
i am replying to every damn comment and my wallet still says no
For the power it has the price is more than fair, only problem is the possible lack of games.
You’ll overcome that for sure. You might like Star Wars too
Since you're new to VR, take it easy with games like NMS where your body is being moved around by the game. Play these games for a little and take a rest as soon as you feel a bit queasy. Your body will adjust in time.
For motion sickness don't push through I did that and was sick for 10 hrs straight, chewing gum with a fan on your face works. Also Ginger candies can help
