      My favorite part is where Thanos wins it all. Marvel had the balls to do it and I'm so happy they actually killed people (even if I'm sad Loki died, though we pretty much knew he was gonna die. Thanos already promised to kill him if Loki failed on earth, and he did).

      How painful was vision's death, huh? "it's okay.... it's okay..." so scarlet witch has to live with killing him. Then thanos rewinds time and then he kills vision and scarlet witch has to watch him die again, but by someone else's hand.

    The Parts that got to me a DC fan,
    "You're crying" Gamora said,
    Red Skull replies, "The tears are not for himself"
    "I don't feel so good Mr.Stark" , Peter said, "I don't want to die"
    "You'll be alright kid", answered Tony

      Dude, this is the culmination of 10 years worth of movies. Were you expecting something as linear and lighthearted as Iron Man? You gotta judge the movie according to its material and how it handled it - and it knocked it out of the park. This is how you do a penultimate culminating movie for a franchise.

    Star-Lord punching Thanos didn't bother me. He literally had the exact same reaction when Ego told him about what he did to his mother. I don't understand when people say it was out of character.

    • @tinal.5585
      @tinal.5585 6 років тому +22

      Yes thank you, you get it. I think it's because people expect every single character to be perfect and just do cool action scenes nonstop. If my loved one was killed and their murderer was right in front of me I couldn't promise that I would be levelheaded even with the universe at stake. Quill has lost both parents and now Gamora, it sent him over the edge like you said he did in Vol. 2.
      If Quill contained himself, they get the Gauntlet off, what would they do with it? The movie would then either turn into a game of keep away which would likely result in Thanos getting the Gauntlet back, OR Quill, Nebula, Drax, or Tony start fighting to put on the Gauntlet. Or they win and Thanos is defeated and everyone complains that the movie was too 'safe.' I guess it was that frustrated feeling of "so close" but what's frustrating to me is everyone ignoring that Dr Strange could have easily stopped Quill or rewound time, but didn't. Everyone gives Thor a pass on not going for Thanos's head when he should've done that. Quill was totally in character and his reaction was part of Strange's plan. It led to the only timeline that could defeat Thanos.

    I agree that the Quill/Thanos moment is the most contentious. I loved it because it was so emotionally real. But I also think Doctor Strange fixes the thought they would have won. Remember he said there is only 1 way they win. So the assumption is that Thanos might have still wrecked shop to get the Gauntlet back, possibly killing Tony to do it.
    And Doctor Strange didn't give up the Time Gem until Tony's life was on the line. Meaning Tony is vital to beating Thanos.

    I don't quite understand the complaints about certain characters not getting a focus like T'Challa or Steve Rogers. I feel like that was a given. This movie isn't about personal contained character arcs, that's what the individual films are for. The Avengers movies are the big crossover events. Also, it's been stated by the directors that this is a Thanos movie first, and an Avengers movie second.

    • @zuriyel5368

      First one, he goes off on the guard who is using his Walkman. At the end, we see him really as a person with the passing of his mom, her Starlord. Second, he loses it when he fights Ego. “You shouldn’t have squashed my Walkman and killed my mom”. He goes bonkers there too.
      From both of these, we know Peter is a hot head when it comes to things he loves. Now, picture Gamora “Swear on your mother. That Peter couldn’t do it the first time and then learns that he wasn’t there to save her, but also not be the one to do it?!
      Yeah, this movie played off his anger right. BUT I think his anger should of been focused on the glove than his face, but it’s a movie and that moment serves the plot rather than the character

      Yeah, there is no reason to really be annoyed with Star Lord. Also, he does say at the end that it was indeed HIS PLAN that almost succeeds. So his plan get's them close and he also causes the plan to "fail", but we know from Strange that they would not have succeeded with actually defeating Thanos in this moment, NO MATTER what they did.

      I mean even if they was able to take the gauntlet off of Thanos and magiced it away so Thanos can never find it again, Thanos could still easily kill all of them and then go on destroy half the universe manually like what he did before the stone. Let him have his guard down thinking his work is done and finally finished him off is probably the only way to truly save the universe

    What keeps coming into my head with Star Lord and whats seems to be happening more and more is his character seems every mentally and emotionally unstable. He tries to suppress his inner pain and anger with comedy as a front to others and to himself. It's sort off a mask and putting a brave face on so when he gets to a point he can't contain them his emotions explodes without being able to control it. It's like he uses comedy to cover up who he really is and how he really feels until he is hit with some sort off tragedy. Think we have seen a bit in the past but this one was the most extreme. Just my theory though 😄😄😄

    Of course there was a buildup to wakanda. They took vision there. He had the last stone they were gonna send the army there obviously. Also it was in the final act they were fighting a losing battle, I honestly have no idea how you don’t feel the stakes, I need an explanation it makes no sense to me. The whole movie was a buildup to that battle.

    • @markcruz359

      I agree im pretty sure the build up was at the beginning when Banner said Thanos is coming for the stones. And when Vision was attacked. I dont think they need to say it out loud again. It was clear that they would come and try and get it again.

    • @hariharansubramaniyam9743
      @hariharansubramaniyam9743 6 років тому +3

      Mark Cruz I agree . One of the best things of this film is the relationship between thanos and Gamora and the love he has for her is so subtle that even she doesn’t realise it till the end which makes the soul stone cliff scene all the more beautiful . You start feeling for thanos there an these two guys are like “ there should’ve been more loving and gamorinisms “ I think they expected thanos and Gamora cuddle with Gamora saying “ papi I love you” , morons ! 🤦‍♂️

    • @DJG333
      @DJG333 6 років тому +2

      Actually I found all of that to be pretty rushed when they got to Wakanda and right before they were getting ready to battle. It wasn’t enough of a slow build up to make you feel like this will be an epic battle. I can also tell that those scenes were trimmed down a bit I would not be surprised if there are deleted scenes mostly from arriving to wakanda and before the battle. The actual battle was actually really good idk what they are talking about there.

    • @royalchandler7761
      @royalchandler7761 6 років тому +7

      Yeahhh I don’t really get this review. Like on one hand, they felt like the pacing of the action became too slow but on the other hand there wasn’t enough buildup? I especially don’t know how they bought Wanda/Vision but not Gamora/Quill. That blows my mind. The unspoken thing became spoken. It’s been there from like jump.

  • @omniatronic
    @omniatronic 6 років тому +40

    I hope A4 introduces reality warping for Scarlet Witch. Her main power set is reality alteration and harnessing chaos magic but she spends most of her time using telekinesis or throwing energy. There’s so much potential with her character, she could make sweeping changes to the entire MCU but they’re not giving her a proper development arc. Olsen’s acting was phenomenal in Infinity War so here’s hoping that a Scarlet Witch stand-alone movie is in the pipeline somewhere.

    • @alec6092
      @alec6092 6 років тому +2

    • @omniatronic
      @omniatronic 6 років тому +1

      I agree - but that being said, Wanda isn't the Scarlet Witch yet. She's not been called "Scarlet Witch" by anyone in the MCU. If they did a standalone movie with her, they could end it with her actually becoming a full Avenger with the name, Scarlet Witch. That'd be dope.

      Bingo. There is a reason why all of the original Avengers survived. For one last time, they will save the entire universe before ceasing to exist in that form. Tony and/or Cap are definitely going to die. I'm also worried about Thor and Hawkeye (he will be in the next flick). We will see some sort of swap where the new Avengers, who died now, will replace the original Avengers as the new main characters of the MCU. Also, Kevin Feige DID say that deaths will be permanent once everything is said and done (so, the very end of A4). All of us should still be VERY worried about Cap and Tony.

If he just stood there and waited, and they got the Gauntlet off, and they won and beat Thanos, everyone would be complaining that the movie was more formulaic Disney kiddie crap, and Star Lord would be way out of character. Or maybe they would get the Gauntlet off and maybe Quill puts it on to bring Gamora back, another rash decision or Thanos gets it back. Dr Strange was not helping to remove the Gauntlet, keep Thanos frozen in time, rewind time, stop Quill, he deliberately let it happen. I wish there had been a shot of him watching the whole thing so we could see he was letting things play out.

  • @1532JJ
    @1532JJ 6 років тому +1

    Peter Quill's actions in punching Thanos on Titan perfectly suits his character arc from the first 2 Guardians films. He lost control in the Kyln in the first film when he saw the guard listening to the walkman his mother gave him. He then savagely beat the same guard when he got free.
    Then in the 2nd film, he lost control on his father when he learned that Ego had put the tumour in his mothers head. He immediately pulled out his blasters and shot Ego. He has frequently shown to be an emotional character that loses control when it comes to his loved ones. So his loss of control in this film isn't all that surprising.

    Just a thought, but maybe in that one scenario where Dr. Strange sees where they win, he might have seen that Tony makes the ultimate sacrifice at the end to kill Thanos, and this wasn't that time and moment yet, so he bargained for his life with the stone, so that tony can fulfill That specific scenario at the time Strange saw it happened. Which would explain why he told Tony that there was no other way because that was part of the one in 14 million scenarios where they beat Thanos. Just an early theory.

    So many small parts had so much depth that you just won't recognize if you haven't watched most prior movies. Like the scene where gamora is explaining to star lord that he has to kill her if thanos captures her and he keeps dropping one liners and brushing it off and she just puts her hand over his mouth and stares at him and says "swear on your mother.". That gave me chills and really put into perspective that oh shit she's really not fucking around.

    Avengers may have failed against thanos but the silver lining is that Marvel won against DCEU.....
    For me that's more than enough...

    Tom Holland’s acting as he clings on to Tony when he starts decomposing was SPOT FUCKING ON. He stole the scene with that.

    Dude, in LOTR's Helms' deep battle, they expected the attack. But in Wakanda they didn't. They just wanted to take out Vision's stone and possibly defend against the two children of Thanos. They didn't expect a massive invasion.
