What I loved about Thor in this is that it may be hilarious but it's a great example of laughing to keep yourself from crying. He's so damn broken, and that broken part of his soul really comes through during that "don't say his name" bit, the scene with his mom, his reaction to what happened to widow and the back and forth he had with Clint, and then the scene where he begs to put on the glove. Such great stuff.

My favourite moment was when they are in the board room trying to figure out what years and where all the stones are. Mostly because it felt like a subtle meta moment where the writers and directors were portraying themselves through the characters. I can imagine the Russos and the writers in a board room sitting down for hours with paper everywhere going " okay what year was this stone shown? What characters were there?" It was great. The characters were trying to figure out their own continuity just like the writers had to.

Have watched a few of these spoiler reviews now... thoroughly enjoyed you two. My only comment is that more than one of you have mentioned that you can't figure how Thanos comes back to get the stones after he's killed at the beginning. He doesn't come 'back'... He goes ' forward'. Nebula makes it possible for him to jump to that timeline. He is a younger much stronger and more dangerous Thanos. Thanos that is killed at the beginning only wanted to balance out the universe with the snap...this one wants to annihilate it. Cap weilding the hammer... favorite part, then all dusted showing up... awesome.
Fat Thor just showed how broken he really was... still my favorite. Keep up the great work guys.

I know I butchered these quotes. Anyway, Thanos thought these were for him, but at the end both lines applied to Tony, not Thanos.

    Top 5 Endgame Moments
    1. Ronin slaying Yakuza scum.
    2. Captain America wielding Mjölnir (Obviously!!!) especially Thor's "i knew it" line!
    3. All the of the major mcu characters coming out Dr. Strange's portal for battle, literally felt like a kid watching cartoons.
especially with Cap finally actually saying "Avengers, assemble." *goosebumps inducing/spine tingling*
    4. Natasha/Clint friendly battle of who gets to sacrifice themselves, i'll throw in that Budapest reference, god they were such good friends.
    5. Tony's death/"I am iron man".
Out of all the major characters, his had the biggest arch in development, he didnt have a final goodbye line before dying either, his death was real. i know when he put that glove on, right there & then he was accepting death. no person who is only %100 human can even hold 1 infinity stone, Tony literally fried himself pulling off one last one, having one last golden egg to lay. & pepper saying he could rest almost made me feel as if she was okay with him dying, until she burst into tears right after she knew Tony was gone.
god, such great films. glad i was a part of the ride.
    what to ya think ?

I think the only thing (literally the only thing) abt Endgame that annoyed me is how Bucky & Steve's relationship felt a little pushed to the side, especially for Steve's send off. Bucky had a whole movie named after him, in Civil War, the only reason Tony wasn't able to kill Bucky...was Steve. So for their last scene and all we got was "Buddy"..... Thank God it was the last scene so it didn't bother that much. Still disappointed abt it.

Teon Quant I think the only thing that felt off for me was the fact that they got their revenge on another Thanos. Out Thanos died thinking he won. Endgame Thanos died before winning. Idk it’s not a bad thing, I just can’t seem to get closure from it. Would’ve wished our Thanos could’ve seen his life’s work be undone, as he sits down and accepts the dust.

@@appal5052 ya i somewhat agree which would have made the scarlet witch encounter more meaningfull if he had known her and what he did to vision and her. Still it was impactful from her side at least. I guess that was the point of infinity war it was supposed to be about his victory and the first time in movie history where heroes generally fail. So they payed that forward to this movie and killed him off with the belief he won because that was the point. Thanos won in that timeline.

@Adam very good point adam, returning the stones is much more complicated then getting them id assume... also... tony went to 1940 to get the space stone... and howard told tony his wife was pregnant.... that would make tony 71 or 72 in the battle in NY, 2012... and 78-79 in endgame. i think they just blew threw a couple scenarios hoping we might not notice lol..

I liked how Thanos` downfall was his own arrogance. He should have never gone to the future and fought the Avengers. With his future knowledge he wouldve inevitably gotten the stones but this time with the knowledge he gained he could've wiped the memories of the living after the snap like he said he would do knowing what he now knew.

    • @louieyosga9656
      @louieyosga9656 5 років тому

If thanos waited ‘till he gets all the infinity stone then the Avengers from the future could easily undone what the mad titan did 5 years from the past. Or worst from Thanos prespective the Avengers could erase thanos from existence, like he never existed at all. Thanos from the future show empathy on bringing balance to the universe in a merciful way he could possibly done it (proof: after the snap he retired living a simple life and destroyed the stones not knowing he could die) thanos isn’t just an ordinary villain he’s more than that, past thanos becames more wiser on what must be done. By all i have said that doesn’t mean what thanos had done was right and just, it’s just that Thanos from the MCU is a well-made fictional character that it made the audience cheered for a villain.

The soul stone scene I saw coming as soon as they said they'd go get it. "A soul for a soul". I knew one of them had to die.

About fat Thor, I felt it was an inspired choice to keep him fat throughout the movie. As someone who is also overweight, I was a little uncomfortable with how his weight gain was used purely for shock and comedy at the beginning but I appreciated that he stayed like that long enough for the audience (and the team) to realize his emotional state was really not good and that’s what got him to that point. And at the time of the final battle, having him suddenly be buff again would undermine his progress cause his arc in this film is him realizing that even after the mistake he made, even looking as he does and in the emotional state he is currently in, he’s still worthy, and can still fight when it counts. It would’ve been disappointing to just have him be fat when it’s funny, but when time comes to be badass, suddenly he’s buff. You just don’t see fat characters be badass, ever.

About Pepper having a suit Greg, it had already showed Tony seeing his daughter holding the helmet and he said your mom never wears anything I get her. And she's called Rescue. Glad she got to be a part of the fight and in the scene with the other female heroes. Only problem I had with all the female heroes having their big scene together is because in the context of that giant battle going on it's very unlikely logically that they'd happen to all be standing around at the exact same spot. It would've been a little more reasonable if it was 4 or 5 of them there to help her. I honestly would've preferred they made the movie an extra 20 min long to let them all have there own individual highlights during the battle like Scarlet Witch had.

Hands down my favorite line is when happy asks morgan if she hungry and what she wants and her response is cheeseburger. Such a great call back to the first Iron man when Tony gets back. I literally laughed so hard and loud in the theater and no one else picked up on it and thought I was crazy

I hear a lot of talk about the return of the dusted characters but nowhere near enough credit is given to Alan Silvestri and his amazing slow-burn take on the avengers theme for that scene called "Portals". Some of his best work and a really clever spin on the classic theme.

The Fuzz He really hit a grand slam with this score. That suspense music when Captain America picks up the hammer and the tribute music at Tony’s funeral were also awesome.

It's really difficult to pick one favorite moment because there were so many spectacular scenes, but I do have to say I think the moment when all the time portals opened up and everyone started showing up to kick Thanos' ass is breathtaking. It's without a doubt the single most majestic, fangasmic scene ever in any superhero movie. And then Cap putting the period on the sentence by finally saying "Avengers assemble" pretty much broke me. Everyone involved in this movie has my thanks for one of the best experiences I've ever had in a movie theater surrounded by complete strangers. It is simply a triumph.

Always very well spoken, clear takes on solid understandings of every film's intention, honest opinions, but with the competence of people who've studied film. Keep doing you, guys 👌🏻

My theory for Guardians 3 is that Thor is going to be using Quill's new Bowflex and immediately will regain his abs, yet it's not working for quill.

YodatheHobbit that actually would be funny and could fit in well with the guardians humor. Just starts off with them doing a mission and just shows Thor muscular again to the audience and then cuts to Quills reaction lol

" you had to watch every movie in the mcu ! " and we did and that's why we loved it and it hit us so hard. we were dedicated to these movies and it was such a great ending to this chapter of the mcu. i'm not a movie goer but i watch these movies because they are so well done and they, for the most part stay true to the source material.

The Avengers assemble moment was a call back to Avengers Age of Ultron and Captain said "Avengers" but did not complete the phrase and say assemble. Also what made that moment amazing was it was the first time since Age of Ultron that all of Avengers were assembled and fought together in the same location because in Infinity War they were fighting for the same purpose but not assembled, they were on different planets

I love that for Doctor Strange, no time has passed. For him, at the end of the Infinity War, it is the endgame. I was wondering why he’d say that if 5 years had past.

He's seen 14 MILLION scenarios, he tired. Just think, Strange probably hat to go through at least 7000 scenarios of that rat missing the control panel by 2 centimetres left & right, failing to let Scott Lang out of the Quantum Realm. LOL. That's why he didn't do much & just lifted a finger to remind Stark.

I think the "post credit scene" could've been the moment when Tony made the suit in that terrorist cave, but I also thought it was like, in the military they use the "gun salute" in honor of the fallen soldiers, and this might of been a "salute" in honor of Tony and the other characters that died.

THANK YOU GUYS .. your comment of Tony always having a backup condirms a great choice in my subscribing. Honestly you have neen the only ones .. and I've listened to at least 8 other spoiler reviews .. who didn't go stupid as to that happening. As i listened to others my thoughts where .. are you new, did you just meet Tony or you're just stupid. Tony has always had at least one plan up his sleeve (or armour) and not told a soul.
Sorry for my rant and thanks for the great reviews.👍🏽
