Mercedes Gear Shifter issue causing transmission limp mode...
Here I compile aa the proof and data to confirm that my Mercedes-Benz's W209 gear shifter is faulty
If the gear is in actually positioned in Park but the indicator turns into R, you may want to check the wire connector of the gear shifter, it can be a loose wire causing this. There are other videos on UA-cam that talk about this. Please let us know what was at the end

Anyone with info before I part this car out. Have a 98 c280 with the p0705. I replaced the conductor plate and round connector and it took care of the hard shift from park to drive or reverse but this code comes back. Is the valve body a possible issue? My understanding is that the computer is not receiving the signal from the transmission so the valve body would not be an issue. Thank you for any input on this matter

Hi mate, how many km do you have on the car? I have heard that usually gear shifter issues appear after 100k....
My c230, 2001 has 160k miles can not shift from drive to park , needs to go to neutral , turn off engine to drive, then have p705 code. Mechanics said need to shifter replacement

@@joepaa2674 probably that is the 2nd one being replaced by the 3rd one.
Thanks. Some other video mention a lever or a solenoid issue, but i guess replace the shifter will solve the problem n fix the limp home mode. This just happened out of nowhere. One day, can't shift to park, next day same thing n home limp mode fault plus check engine
I have the transmission conductor plate, connector replaced it twice , one few years n one 10 years earlier
I have the same error on my c180 kompressor and i've changed the conductor plate but still the same..it let's my put to drive and reverse and park but is driving in second gear i thing vos on the display does not show if is D or P or R..any help please?

I see you have 13 pin I only see 12 on mine and it’s throwing one code p0778 you think it’s a connector pin?
My Mercedes has a that code p0705. It’s a 2002 c320. My shifter been faulty for awhile now but just recently it won’t go into gear when I press the brake. Also when I’m driving my car go into save mode or limp mode cuz it won’t go pass 40 and the RPM is at 60. Any ideas on how to fix it cuz I’m replacing the shifter this weekend. What others things could it be to cause the code

Hi mate, I believe it is the shifter, but before replacing your shifter make sure the transmission plug seal is good and the connector is clean. Also check your tcu for fluid contamination.

I have Mercedes cls 350 model 2007, after i make gear restart in c mode no problems but when i shift to s mode car not mode in D or R and in manual also I return back to c mode everything working.

This sounds to me more like an electrical / wiring issue, make sure your harness is not soaked with transmission fluid and all the connectors are clean and intact, also defienetly scan the ECU for the fault codes.
I have a 02 Cl500 with the same problem. I have to let the car warm up for 20 minutes before I drive off, if not it’ll be stuck in limp mode

Hello, Best advice would be to diagnose using a proper OBDII scanner and read the codes.
I'm facing the same problem in my mercede 2002 S class w220 gear shifting 1 to 2 and sometimes stuck in parking. Will i find transmission E.C.U at same place ?
For w220 S class the TCU is inside a relay / fuse box under the bonnet on the passenger side if this is a LH drive car.
Will this work on '05 c240 with the exact same issues?

Those came up referencing Brakes & steering errors nothing said anything motor or transmission I got it scanned at AutoZone,DO I NEED A BETTER OBD2 SENSOR ?

Yes, jump starting a Mercedes is risky. You now probably need to scan for codes.
@@BenzAddiction check engine light is on I’ve tried clearing the codes with my on one scanner but it does nothing for it I’m guessing I need to have the codes cleared by a professional

I'm having a problem with my shifter lights turning off when my car starts up and doesn't let me put it in drive and when I do get it into drive it goes limp mode like full gas down barely moves any suggestions 2010 c300 S????
Might be the shifter, the best thing to do is to diagnose it using a scanner, sometimes even a good Bluetooth scanner can help a lot in diagnosis. Also download car scanner app from the app store if you want to use the Bluetooth scanner.
But my car don’t have Bluetooth
