I use it with my dual rec MW. Boost the mids on the pedal slightly, and take the mids back on the amp 👌🏻

This is the best od. Had one for 6 months and it’s never coming off my board. Best out of the hundred or so pedals that have come and gone.
I’ve used this amazing pedal for 4 years now and I’d never ever sell it. Other than metal the best tone I had with this was for a RnB/Soul gig. I used this straight into a Hot Rod Deluxe for leads with the gain up. I cut through the mix yet my tone was so smooth for the leads. So versatile but doesn’t fall under the ‘good at a lot master of nothing’ pile
Aaawww man, I grew up listening to R&B and the guitarists and bassists are always super great! That's awesome that you can play that style of groove.
This pedal brings my Revv G20 from a dry, flubby mess to one of the most aggressively tight and saturated amps I've ever used. The 3 band EQ is an absolute requirement for me now.
How does it compare to the Airis Effects Savage drive? I'm using a Peavey 5150 block letter btw. Thanks for these videos, they have helped me out a lot!

Got 1, love it and it LOVES every amp I plug it into. Just makes good amps sound great! The added EQ is just the absolute nuts!

How is this thing compared to the highwind direwolf? I know the direwolf has more bells and whistles but tonally. Been eyeing a direworlf but if the 805 is similar in quality then id rather not wait till October for a direwolf
You gotta try an Earthquaker Devices Plumes!!!! I was doubting it when I ordered it but Daaayum when I got it! It’s an awesome pedal, versatile and not a million bucks -$99 bones. Find it & try it. 👍🏽

i have a Randall RD5 just for home playing it only have gain, tone, volume knobs. you think this pedal can make my amp head sound better? for me my amp head sound great already but you know its nice to have a little change.

Love your channel Bro! Keep up the good work! Was wondering if you ever considered using an EQ pedal instead of an overdrive to push your amp. You can really fine tune the frequencies that you want to boost or cut. I'm thinking about the Boss EQ200 that can effectively have 2 EQs on at the same time, one before your gain and one in the loop.

There's a lot of people hyping it so I got one, wow. I was using a Fortin Blade and an MXR Modified Badass depending and the Duncan 805 can do both, I can dial it in like the blade (low bass raise mids/treble) and it has a girth to it. And I can use it for other stuff outside of metal. It's amazing at clean breakups with my Friedman JJ Jr and does the chugga chugs just as well with my EVH 5150 and Randall Diavlo RDH1. Thanks for recommending 2 things Louis haha.

Never tired an overdrive other then my Boss pedals metal zone and mega distortion so hope to get my little cheap overdrive soon

Never used one and I don't know anyone that has that pedal. I've watched a few videos with it and it's really good. I'm guessing it may not have been very popular in the metal scene though.

You know what, I didn't know where they were located but I'm sure you're 100% correct. OD808 or just come close and make it your area code of 805? :)

Options-wise, it is similar to revv g2, no?
This is an overdrive pedal which is quite a bit different than the distortion/ preamp pedals Revv builds. They're not alike, the G series should be compared to a KSR Ceres or Abasi Pathos than an overdrive. :)

How does it sound like on the prs mt-15. I just got that head at a 2x12 mesa cab
It's just as great with the MT15!!
That cleaned up the sag perfectly, this is also how I used the Boss MT-2 (even though it's designed as pre amp pedal). I used the concentric Mids and Mids frequency pots and didn't use the drive/distortion pot.
I'll give the 805 a look into.
i was thinking on buying The EarthQuaker Devices Palisades V2 overdrive pedal.But if i get the 805 i might be able to save a few bucks and still be satisfied with my tone.Hmmmmmm decisions decisions

Louis Torres awesome! I spent a lot of time balancing the bass, resonance, and bass on the pedal. Once you got that sweet spot, it’s game over lol.

Louis Torres it’s a Suhr pre OD and/or clean boost. Best way I can put, it adds air and hair! I always keep it on. When I do leads, it really really sings. You gotta check out that Koko.

@@louistorres tried several man, Fryette Deliverance, Mesa Rectifier dual and triple (2 channels) and maybe Peavey. The thing is I like several other OD's including some others you have shown, like the standout, pepers or fortin. Those were much more my taste, and honestly I would pick the Demon drive over this one, and it's weird since I have read several people praising it but when I got mine it was a let down :(

So I looked into my Reverb account to see if this was the actual pedal I had and sold, since I saw Shawn's video and it sounded good, and it seems to be the same od, but knob colors and letters were in different locations... could it be that they did some upgrades? my version had black knobs and the letters for the eq were located on a different place
You should give the Savage from Airis Effects a try if you haven't!
