The world is worse off without Bea Arthur. I believe few fans saw the real Bea. She was private and sensitive, and a very caring human being. I love(d) her honesty and sharp wit. She didn't have time for things that have no soul. She was lovely - inside and out. She was the kind of person people should look up to, instead we seem to honour shallowness and stupidity nowadays. I would gladly stay home on a Friday night just to watch Dorothy. And she could sing. Well done Bea. You showed the world what real actor should be. We will indeed miss you.

What kind of person is the ONE complete asshole DISLIKES a tribute to a deceased star that entertained us for decades? Someone whose grave I'D be happy to dance on.

I think it was her personality in each character made her larger than life. I believe who she really is always shined through. My mother met her years ago in NYC. Until my mom's passing she always smiled when retelling this memory of the afternoon she met and hung out with Ms. Bea.

I think it was because she had a large frame and her clothes emphasized her weight and height.......also, of course, Betty and Estelle were petite in comparison.

Thanks 🙏🏻 Bea for the beautiful memories. Saturday night on NBC, couldn’t wait to watch the ‘Golden Girls’. Miss those days. They were just beautiful together.

Oddly Getty, Bea and Rue all died a year apart from each other. Imagine mourning your friends death and the next year it's your own. 😥

Estelle had a fear of death and dying … apparently she didn’t like talking about it.

I'm here because of Wade Wilson! I regretfully never really saw the Golden Girls (I'm changing that now) I was more of a Married with Children fan. I am beginning to understand as to why Bea Arthur was an awesome soul. Thank you, Deadpool for opening this door for me. R.I.P. Bea. :(

She was a funny lady! Loved her! I loved her when I first saw her on ALL IN THE FAMILY and then MAUDE. She was so very good on THE GOLDEN GIRLS and that show wouldn't have been gold without her! May she continue to rest in peace making people laugh even in eternity! Peace.

Bea was a very unusual lady! She said she was "5'9,1/2" in her stocking feet" so with any shoe at all, (and she wore 2" heels regularly) she looked taller. With Betty White (5'4") and Rue McClanahan (5'3") and Estelle Getty was 4'10 1/2" and a year younger than Bea! So certain things were bound to be funny in that set-up! Bea could have the most enigmatic facial expressions, sometimes with that knitted-brow accompaniment and sometimes without, in any event, she came across always, as very stern and authoritative!
I never saw "Maude" because I was working, and don't really like it that much now, but I love the "Golden Girls" and watch it every day!

I recently watched a few DVDs of "Maude," and some of the episodes were hysterical!! If you don't mind a lot of yelling and loud talk, you should give it a try!!

Betty White was the oldest of the four. Betty, then Bea, then Estelle, then Rue, it's crazy that she is the only one left. My favorite was Bea though.
