She had the best facial expressions of any actor I have seen in my 58 yrs on this earth...she could kill with a look, and her timing was absolutely phenomenal....miss you Bea!!
God I miss her, she was easily one of the finest comediennes of all time. Her timing was uncanny and perfect, her one-liners and banter on the Golden Girls were absolutely hilarious. She was awesome, a true talent and a half.
“Men love a big behind!” Bea certainly wasn’t kidding! Miss her, Estelle, and Rue with each passing day! The four of them were and are America’s Golden Age!
i know Im asking randomly but does someone know of a way to get back into an Instagram account? I was stupid forgot my account password. I love any assistance you can offer me
@Adam Marcos Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im trying it out atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I was lucky enough to have seen Bea's show three times in 2001. Met her personally the third time. She was just so unbelievable and so sweet and looked gorgeous in person and was amazed by my mom and me she thought my mom and I looked like sisters! She said "You look more like her younger sister." Love and miss her more than words can say xxx !!!
Mom and I were crying side by side when we saw this. I remember me being about five years old and she would watch the Golden Girls, it was a mother and daughter moment. Thank you Bea Arthur and everyone else in The Golden Girls for being a part of my childhood.
Seriously, some of us who had hard times as children...Rue, Estelle, Bea and Betty became our family! I have gone through 2 sets of DVD and about to get another!
I loved Bea Arthur!!!! Dorothy was my favorite Golden Girl. On the Golden Girls, she reminded me of what I feel my favorite Aunt would have been like had she not died at age of 57.
When she played as Dorothy on the Golden Girls, I felt as if I was looking at an older version of myself. Her portrayal of Dorothy really clicked with me. Sophia could have been my mother. I think that's why the show was so successful. People could relate to the people in the show. RIP BEA ARTHUR!!
The very end of this interview, was the answer to a question/thought that has been haunting me for over 2 years. I've struggled with the decision rather to retire or not. On my first visit to New York 30 odd years ago, I had heard so much about "Sardis"...so made it high on my "must visit" list. All the caricatures were fantastic! I miss Bea Arthur and "The Golden Girls" so much - it was my all-time favourite show. I saw Bea in her one-woman show at London's Savoy Theatre. She was incredible.
The world is worse off without Bea Arthur. I believe few fans saw the real Bea. She was private and sensitive, and a very caring human being. I love(d) her honesty and sharp wit. She didn't have time for things that have no soul. She was lovely - inside and out. She was the kind of person people should look up to, instead we seem to honour shallowness and stupidity nowadays. I would gladly stay home on a Friday night just to watch Dorothy. And she could sing. Well done Bea. You showed the world what real actor should be. We will indeed miss you.
Pamela Anderson's Roast brought me here. My mom and I were talking about a recent one and for some reason BEA popped in my mind, and I was like, "Didn't MAUDE do one of the Roasts"...then I had to go check it out again,,, she was HILARIOUS!! She seemed like she would have been an awesome lady to know..like, she would crack you up over the phone! RIP honey!
I loved her in Golden Girls. I just wish they also mentioned her service in the United States Marine Core. from one veteran to another, until Valhalla.
I love Dorothy! She is so funny and sarcastic and yet so kind all the same. All those beautiful golden girls make me smile during hard times! RIP Bea, Rue and Estelle , and keep going strong Miss Betty 💜
