Thank you Rue, for showing a little girl born in the 1980s what a real grandmother was like and for your gift of laughter! Always loved and never forgotten!
Perhaps this is why the Academy Awards has two presenters. This way, if one of them stumbled over a name in rehearsal, the other presenter can read them. Howie Mandel deals with some significant problems (OCD manifested primarily as mysophobia and ADHD). Although there is no mention of dyslexia in his history, he was clearly very nervous. And it didn't help when he messed up his joke about people approaching him as a doctor by not stopping at the natural punchline. He had to read the names immediately after knowing that his joke bombed before a large audience in the theater and millions watching at home.
Lol - way to go Howie for managing to mangle Rue's last name, not once but TWICE! Think he might have practiced it a couple of times before he went on live TV?? Anyway, what a well-deserved win for a great actress! :)
