I find it interesting that in the 80s TV executives were brave enough to cast four senior-aged women and put them in a show that to this day still is one of the best comedies ever shown on American TV. What a contrast that is to today's television and movie industries....

The only one of the four stars of "The Golden Girls" who wasn't nominated. She could enjoy the moment without feeling any disappointment at not winning.
That said, Betty White also looks very happy for Rue McClanahan when the camera focuses on her. The director, however, never cut to a shot of Bea Arthur.

*Its Rue McClanahan!* 😅 Lol, I’m sure he was plenty nervous & Rue was just so grateful to be nominated AND win her first Emmy Award she didn’t care! Haha. I can’t believe they’re all gone now. Forever on our screens & in our hearts. 🧡

Perhaps this is why the Academy Awards has two presenters. This way, if one of them stumbled over a name in rehearsal, the other presenter can read them.
Howie Mandel deals with some significant problems (OCD manifested primarily as mysophobia and ADHD). Although there is no mention of dyslexia in his history, he was clearly very nervous. And it didn't help when he messed up his joke about people approaching him as a doctor by not stopping at the natural punchline. He had to read the names immediately after knowing that his joke bombed before a large audience in the theater and millions watching at home.
