    I run Turboworx pumps on all my rear mount projects. I've had one on my 2010 camaro TT since 2011 and never a problem. Every now and then, someone will have an issue with any of them but most of the time, due to bad or improper install or dirt in the system.

    Longevity of these pumps. Had an sts pump. One lasted a year the other lasted 12 years. eBay one now on. Let’s count down. Vane pumps vs spur pump. Spur all the way.

    I unfortunately need to get one of these……my automatic transmission blocks everything….I plumbed it into the oil pan’ for the return’ I put 4 and a half quarts’ and it’s leaking bad.
    I need to redirect the drain line to the oil fill on the valve cover.

    Yes the turbo is below the oil pan, the motor oil pump can supply the oil to the turbo but it dose not have the power to push it back to the motor. If you don't use on you will burn up the motor it will push the oil to the turbo and go out the jurnal into the turbine

    Thank you for the video. I will be ordering the Turbowerx pump. My mocal pump is so loud! How good was this pump on scavenging the oil back to the motor?

  • @patrikegaker

    Have you checked if you get any oil pressure? It's impossible to get a replacement oil pump for my car, so I'm looking for an electric pump that works.

    When I hook up the pump, I just run a line from the oil pan to the turbo and the turbo to the oil pump and anothet line back to the pan. the oil pump is in the rear near the turbo correct and I dont need to run anything else for the oil on its return trip back to the motor?

    • @consaka1
      @consaka1 8 років тому

      What these guys are doing is using this pump to pump the return oil FROM the turbo drain back to the tank. You cannot let a turbo drain back up, especially on a diesel. If you do the turbo starts blowing oil out the pressure side of the intake and into the engine. In a gas engine it will just smoke real bad but in a diesel it will use that oil for fuel and the engine will "run away" on you. As in you will have no control over the rpms.

    But you don’t have any oil in them.... they’re both gonna quiet down significantly when the oil tightens up the tolerance between the gears

      It was quite a bit age when I made this video. I'm pretty sure there's something out there that will give you that. I just don't think you will find a gear pump that's quite . Look at vain pumps. Maybe a holly fuel pump or something along them lines.

  • @stephenskgunter

    Isn't the gear pump on the right louder than it would be if it actually had oil in its gears?

    • @thunderbirdbob1
      @thunderbirdbob1  7 років тому

      Jacob Rosario not long that's y the first turbo burnt up. the pump stopped working and the oil had no ware to go and it messed up the motor to because it's starved oil for the motor. me personally I would put a turbo under the hood next to the motor so the oil go's in and then right back into the oil pan

    Hey was wondering if u can help me out. Im gojng to go with turbowerx, but hiw should I wire it up. I cant do it straight from the. Attery becuz it will run oil non stop. I need to hook it up to a powersource that comes on when the egine turns correct?

    • @thunderbirdbob1
      @thunderbirdbob1  9 років тому

      I tapped off the fuel pump. But make sure you run the pump off a relay. You just using the trigger from the fuel pump relay.

    • @thunderbirdbob1
      @thunderbirdbob1  9 років тому

      When running oil to the turbo you come off the high pressure side at the motor,run to the turbo and put a oil restrictor at the turbo. Run a line from the turbo to the oil pump from the pump to a high point ot the motor (valve cover or fill hole) so the oil can dran back into the pan. You DON'T want to go to the oil pan you take a chance of oil back filling that tube then you starve the motor for oil and burn baring in the motor.

    • @thunderbirdbob1
      @thunderbirdbob1  3 роки тому

      It did work vary well but if you can get the turbo under the hood so you can use the oil pressure of the motor I would do that instead. Just make sure you use a oil Restricter fitting to the turbo.
