mason qnthony the oil is gravity fed to an oil pan, you need a pump to get it back on this setup otherwise it will leak past the the the turbo and out of the exhaust
No Style where did you get that tank for the oil from?? And do you have to turn those pumps on and off everytime you drive it?? Where did you feed power to them from? The cigarette lighter?
i know this is an old posting but i have a question about your feed pump. Why do you have a line that returns to the tank on the feed line after the pump? is this so the pressure us not to high? The reason o ask is I'm doing a rear mount setup.
so its a bypass. Great and thankyou. if you have a minute i have two more questions. Do you have an oil pressure guage and do you run a restrictor on the turbo? If so what pressure and what size restrictor? ok maybe a few questions. Lol i will try and send a pic of my oiling system.
David carroll no gauge at all, I pulled the return of the bottom of the turbo just to check the oil was flowing through and that was good enough for me and worked great haha
It works better than any other turbo. There is as much exhaust flow at the tailpipe as there is at the downpipe assuming you have a good exhaust. The difference is at the tailpipe the gas flow is majorly cooler and denser than it is near the engine. The cooler denser charge spools up the turbo more efficiently. The distance from rear of car is nothing in terms of volume for a turbo. The turbo can fill the 10 foot pipe in .1 seconds and lag is no issue. The long cold air charge tubes to the intake act as an intercooler as well to drop the compressed air temp.
Did you have any issues putting the MAF in front of the turbo inlet as opposed to mounting it where it is before the TB? All i've read says keep it by the TB
jasmenter Ah, there's a t piece just after the pump so what ever didn't go through the turbo world just go back into the pot, not the best but it worked
Im planning to do this on my car and need all the info I can get about how you did this setup.
Really nice build man.
Did you have you use a pump for the feed and a pump for the return ?
Yes mate
Awesome set up man. What pumps did you use for thr set up and what is that clear plastic line on top of the oil tank? Thanks
Why do you need oil pumps when using a standalone oil reservoir but you don't when you tap the oil pan for a turbo feed line?

NICE!!! , is there a reason you used two pumps independently? 1 to feed, 1 to return is a bit redundant I believe but it works.
McKinney Texas Zeds needs both, it was tried with just the one and tried in different ways with no joy so two I was
Ok cool man, I seen others after this vid using two as well. Great vid man.

Cool build. !!!!! Quick question? Why didn’t you mount the turbo down by the diff ?
B Dog wasn't alot of room after putting the coilovers on and lowering it, perfect excuse not to take the girlfriend shopping haha
awesome! what are you doing for fuel and ignition?
omg thats siiiiiick
do you have project post in web ?

David carroll yes mate exactly that so basically what didn't go through the turbo just went back to the tank, simple but effective

Awesome and Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.
David carroll no worries matey and good luck with the build
That's thinking out the box good work, does it work well

What size oil sump is that in litres
Where do you put your shopping?

It has to be before the turbo, I tried it inline and ran like shit
How loud are those pumps!? Are they still working?
E-town Stones no longer have the car and they were ebay cheap things
Hey Dan, One Question how do you regulate the pressure to the turbo ?
jasmenter it has a internal waste gate, under the turbo you might not be able to see it very well in the vid, was 7-8 psi
apologies i mean the oil pressure to the turbo how do you regulate it ?
jasmenter Ah, there's a t piece just after the pump so what ever didn't go through the turbo world just go back into the pot, not the best but it worked
So it bleeds back the excess pressure, Cheers mate, Many Thanks.
jasmenter Yeah to my surprise it actually works haha
do you have a build thread by any chance very interested in doing this to my ls looked on fb but couldn't find you
Jaime Zamora. Search Dan Nutton
No Style thanks I found you but for some reason i can't find any pics of build just seen a couple of the lifted ls
cool concept but definitely hacked together..
Add me on Facebook, there's an album full of picks from the build, search Dan Nutton
Where do you put your shopping?
