“More loose skin than a shar pei puppy!” That will forever be a classic line… 😂😂😂
The fact we’re talking about it 25 years later makes Steiner right.
Steiner is one hundred percent wrong
We’re talking about it 25 yrs later for 2 reasons :
1. Wrestling sucks now compared to that era
2. Rick Flair and Scott Steiner are both legends
3. No other reason 😂
NOTHING Scott said was true, not even remotely!!!
@@ethanshelbyskateboarding9980 eh…he was right but it wasn’t the whole story
@@60BloodyChamp60 true
Nice that Kevin Sullivan didn’t take the bait to sound like he was a badass and just shot the story straight.
Flair was a heel at this time too; Steiner's promo made no sense to anyone who didn't know their personal history.
Made sense to me lol
I love me some heel vs heel shit
not all heels have to be friends, they're heels for a reason.
WCW should've had Scott Steiner work with Ric Flair after Scott did that promo.
You would think right. But WCW usually never did anything right. Lol
Flair wouldn't dare work with him after that incase he decided to shoot on him in the ring aswell as in a promo
True
@Noob_Saibot 1997
@Noob_Saibot Late 90's
Loved this promo. Scott always had Flair’s number.
@@stonecoldflipper9503 you liked your own reply lol
Steiner didn't draw tho
@@bigolebotthat’s actually false and WCW’s ratings were starting climb again when he held the WCW title before the buyout, the numbers don’t lie.
@@Matt_Wilson01 yeah and the PPV buyrates in the year 2000 were horrible when Scott was the guy... Numbers don't lie either
Scotty always had heat with Flair from the early '90s when Flair was booking and he sandbagged Steiner's push as world champion
"...Now I know Buddy Rodgers is dead..."
"...God rest his soul. BUT RIC FLAIR, YOUR CAREER IS DEAD!"
His acknowledgement that WCW can't actually hire Buddy Rogers due to the aforementioned followed by his heartwarming respectful 'tribute', before unloading on Flair makes this the quintessential Scott Steiner promo. Emotional rollercoaster.
@@Uzaair, his career is not dead. Ric has a multimillion dollar empire. He has a huge UA-cam channel and gets paid a fortune to show up at events. If he needs any extra cash, I am sure his daughter can give him a little spending money because now she is a mega star.
@@stonecoldflipper9503 erm, wasn't really the point I was making
@@Uzaair, Ric is still having a career, but it is as a business man and legend. Most people have careers to make money and Ric is doing that. Ric can always sell one of his Rolex watches and a custom made suit and get as much as most people would if they sold their house. Wooooooo.
I like when steiner tslks about hooches, his peaks, and white trash.
It was humorous about 25 years-ago … it’s kind of played out at this point.
Peaks and freaks
And Steiner was right about everything.
Yep
NWA was excellent, and WCW missed used Ric and Scott, both were better in NWA, what a great NWA World Champ Flair was and had great interviews, and Scott would have been a great NWA World Champion had NWA style remained on TBS, Scott in his last run on current NWA gave great interviews and chased the NWA National Title, it was fun to watch, Scott and Ric were great and NWA, WCW missed used both.
Scott's jealous of flair
@@donjohn2695 Why would he be?
@@chadk890 well let's see ric is considered the greatest wrestler of all time while Scott is just a footnote in the history of the business
I loved When Steiner did it. Because he was right.
Unscripted promo days are long gone
Had a friend who worked as a segment producer for WCW back then and he said there was no one there who could deal with Scott backstage which shows the difference between WCW and WWE. For Flair-haters it was good for a chuckle but ultimately it was unprofessional and didn’t do anything for business.
No one was messing with Scott. Dude was as big as a house
Well, let’s see, Ron Simmons, Haku, Brock Lesnar, Barbarian, Steve Blackman, Dan Savern, Dick Slater, Andre, John Tenta, Scott Norton, Kane, Billy Jack Haynes, and The Warlord would probably mess with him, if he messed with them.
@@stonecoldflipper9503
That's a hell of a list, could probably add Harley Race to it.
If those are the only guys, Steiner's in tough company.
@@stonecoldflipper9503 Gotta think you fight one Steiner you gotta fight both of them💯💯
@@stonecoldflipper9503 Haku couldn't fight worth shit. Lol that is why he was a fake pro rassler.
@@googlemyself4091go fight him, maybe he was smart and knew there was more money in pro wrasslin than mma, which wasn't much a thing in his time
The thing about Flair coming out of no where is so perfect and hilarious that I die laughing almost every time to this day.
The Roids Were In Full Swing When Scott Did This Promo
He was a bully hateful guy
Scotty was right. Flair and him had heat going back to scotts initial WCW run where he had a little push as a single and Flair made him look like crap, as he wasnt one of flairs buddies
The funny thing is that Stone Cold wasn't even on tv for WWF at the time of Steiner's promo (Feb 2000). Austin was out from Nov 99 to Sept 2000. So nobody actually changed the channel to see Stone Cold.
Kevin Sullivan is completely wrong. Steiner was right, and knew WCW already lost to the WWF.
Big Poppa All Day….He spoke the truth!!!!
Steiner commenting on Flairs teeth, then Flair went and got them whitened - so good. Same thing with Nash and Hogan's sunglasses. The old farts got their asses handed to them in late 90s WCW.
Did Linda get the sunglasses back in the divorce settlement.
@@curthennig9448 I think so yes, as well as Hulk's car collection. Her 19 year old toyboy very much enjoyed driving Hulk's cars, apparently.
@@bubbacalling Free money for the kid!
If Meng would have been in the locker room at the time it would have been a wise decision for Sullivan to have Meng watch his back in case Scott Steiner attacked Sullivan.
"Hey Flair you old bastard"
Steiner is the biggest Buddy Rogers mark and he could not let that Shar pei Ric Flair take his name
I like flair from the 80s and 05 to 08. Outside of that he's corny in the 90s and making a fool of himself after 08
He had to do that crap because of dumb executives that couldn’t run a pizza parlor and thought oh well I can run a professional wrestling organization. Yeah right, they disrespected Ric and put WCW out of business. Another thing that hurt wrestling back then was the territories went away and they started hiring Bodybuilders like Scott that could do amateur wrestling, but you put those big guys like Scott in the ring with Ric and 20 minutes later the big guy needed an oxygen tank to keep going. Ric use to wrestle 9 one hour matches a week and sometimes he would do that for a month straight and the arenas were sold out. Then Ric partied all night and had to run Space Mountain for several hours so all the young girls went home happy. Ric had a good physique when he was young, but he didn’t take PED’s everyday for a solid decade or two like those big guys did. Ric is still relevant today and his daughter is a huge success and neither of them are flipping burgers or working at Walmart.
I loved that promo - because it was real
Scott treated wrestlers the way Rick treated Scott when Scott became the TOP DOG
He’s FFFATTttt!
Yeah do the math
This is Eric's fault.
It also made Shane Douglas look weak...here he was feuding with Ric and then Steiner comes out and takes over. Great promo though
As fan growing up in the 80's, we thought Flair sucked. If you compare Million Dollar Man's character development, he was much better.
You’re joking, right. LOL. Million Dollar Man was real good, but he is no Ric Flair. Ric is a legend and is The Man.
@@stonecoldflipper9503 I might be biased because I'm from the north but the character was way better developed then Ric Flair's character. When when Rick Flair came on TV we would change your channel. We only really watch WCW for The Steiner Brothers Sid Vicious and maybe sting
Yup. I thought WCW was for poor people and Flair's style was played out and old
@@krillin876, you can’t help where you grew up and I don’t hold that against you, but Ric Flair is The Goat of professional wrestling. Ric wasn’t the biggest star like Hulk Hogan or The Rock, but they were more than wrestlers, they were TV stars and movie stars, etc. Ric had the best promos of all time and Ric could wrestle and put on a show. Ric wasn’t a cartoon character like The Million Dollar Man and he was worth way more than a million dollars. I use to live near Ric and he really had all those fancy cars and he had the biggest house on the biggest side of town. You need to spend several hours a day watching Ric’s promos on UA-cam and maybe you and The Million Dollar Man can learn how to dress properly. Trust me, Ric’s robe, Rolex watch, and his big gold belt probably cost more than your house.
Dungeon of doom was the clear drizzles
It was over with kids at the time.
It doesn't matter if what Steiner said was accurate or not. It hurt the company and the rest of the guys. Just more of the out of control, illogical BS that was too common in WCW at that time.
Steiner was right.
Scott steiner hates ric flair
Steiner never said people should change the channel. He said they do to watch Austin.
The one guy that had the Austin charisma in WCW was Scott Steiner. If they'd have put him in the top heel spot they'd have been far more competitive.
Wtf are you doing isn’t really a confrontation. Also Kevin knew Scott wasn’t going to punch an old man. Also what Scott said hurt WCW less than many things many other guys had done.
He was not crazy scott wanted people to tune in he was the only guy doing this and it worked. Give scott credit for making WCW interesting
Roided out mess
I remember it well. It was one of the reasons WCW totally failed. We heard S. Steiner say go over to WWE (F) and everyone did. And did not look back. Thanks Scott. So smart.
Steiners promo was great and totaly true apart from exposing Flair for the paedophile he is
Is Flair still hanging out with Matt Gaetz?
@@curthennig9448 You would know
@@HermannTheGreat I'll check the Epstein files that DeSantis is putting out. Gaetz,Flair ,Trump, and Vince all on the island at one time or another.
@HermannTheGreat yeah old guys like you and flair are always pestering me
@@cutekanjii Don't bring me into your sick fantasies and other deviancy, you are on your own and you'll be found out soon enough.
It's always been funny to me that when Flair went to the WWE that all those "guys Flair chased away" according to Steiner ended up heralding Flair as the greatest professional wrestler of all time. Flair was 55 and was more over than steroid fueled SS by a mile.
Steiner was a one of a kind
I would like to seen Flair vs Scott Steiner during that time period. And have Steiner have his way in the ring and really hurt him. Maybe cripple him. Then see how bad the big bad bootie daddy is killing and older man like 25 years older
Steiner went into business for himself. Very unprofessional.
Steiner is Legend
I thought it was one of the greatest promos.
Whether you believe what Scott Steiner said in that promo was true or not, it was way out of order of him and utterly unprofessional.
I first saw the Steiner Brothers wrestle in WCW in the late 80s and have not seen a more technically sound tag team than them. They are certainly in the conversation for greatest tag team of all time. And this I was a fan of Scott Steiner pre 1998, after that he just seemed out of control and lost to me.
This promo was yet another embarrassing step on the road in the destruction of WCW. The greatest wrestlers cutting promos don't need to cuss and just get angry. They capture the audience, they tell a story they have self control. And they also didn't get personal and disrespectful to legends, even heals like Jake the Snake didn't need to do that.
Also you NEVER name the competition, absolute no-no! Vince and the WWF boys probably sat back and laughed their heads off. Ridiculous promo, and it was clear he embarrassed himself and WCW. Shameful.
The promo ended his career. Ric Flairs biggest fan is Vince . Word was that promo pissed Vince off . After buying WCW Vince knew he would end Scott's career. And he did.
Just like Mike Tyson told Ali he would get revenge on Larry Holmes for Ali, Vince did the same for Flair. Thank you Vince .As a fan, Scott never came on my TV again. I turned away until he was through. As Kevin said Scott was not even working with Flair at the time.
Roid rage plan and simple. Flair gain a lot of fans after that promo.
I like Flair and Scott, NWA is and was great, but WCW was not.
Fuck flair he was overrated stealing other peoples gimmicks
Steiner ruined his own in WWE. Steiner was given a push when he entered the WWE, but it was ruined because he had injuries
It was all true Flair was the biggest ass kisser ever
It's part of the game to stay on top in wrestling sadly. Regal kissed ass literally and became an executive.
@@TheHannibalTV I guess if you lack character
Steiner was everything that FLAIR WAS NOT .... HE HAD THE BODY AND REAL WRESTLING SKILLS .... FLAIR ALWAYS LOOKED LIKE SHIT FROM HIS BODY TO HIS ABILITY .... BRUNO SAID IT BEST YOU SEE FLAIR WRESTLE ONCE YOU SEE HIM THE SAME WAY A MILLION TIMES .... PLUS RICK WITH BEST HIM SILLY IN A REAL FIGHT !!
Professional wrestling is not amateur wrestling, it’s not the UFC, and it’s not bodybuilding. Ric was the greatest professional wrestler to ever wrestle and that means his work ethic, his skills in the ring, and most importantly his interview skills and his entertainment ability in the business. Ric is not an amateur wrestler, but Brock Lesnar is, so get Scott to jump on him and see what happens. Ric is not a bodybuilder and didn’t eat PED’s like they were candy, but Lex Luger, Sid Vicious, Rick Rude, and Brock had better physiques than Scott. Brock had UFC training and Haku had mix martial arts training and Scott didn’t jump on either of them. Finally, Ric was not a street fighter, but Dick Slater was and he would have destroyed Scott with one punch. Ric was perfect in the ring as a professional wrestler and he did basically the same match because it was perfect and it worked. Scott was a bully and was jealous of Ric’s success and Ric had nothing to do with Scott not being a great singles wrestler. You think Ric’s body looks bad, have you seen Scott’s chest, his body looks bad as well. Ric is the GOAT.
Expect flair had tons more charisma and personality than Scott ever had
@@stonecoldflipper9503 with more loose skin than a sharpay puppy!
@@krillin876, that is because the guys you think had a great physique were eating PED’s for breakfast and Ric didn’t do that. When Scott was in the gym every morning lifting weights for 4 hours straight, Slick Ric was kicking 4 girls out of bed, Woooooo.
Flair had one thing that put him miles ahead of Scott. Flair put butts in seats for 30yrs. Flair put more butts in the seats over his career than any other wrestler except maybe Hogan.
That's all that counts. If not for Scott's promo he would not be mention in the same discussion as Flair. Scott was never the top of the card wrestler. Sorry .
Flair is still in demand , he just did Joe Rogan podcast . Scott is flipping burgers at Chili's in Georgia. He does on the Chili's. Good food.
