Ric throws out this specific quote around 3:20 that Ross apparently said "You have to know when to walk away from Ric Flair" . What's wrong with that ? Your comment sounds like it's coming from a person who has experienced this. I have great friends I've had to walk away from and it's hard to do. I pride myself on being a good friend, being the type of friend I want to have, but it's impossible to be a friend to someone when their sole purpose is self destruction. I have friends who have got so caught up in their own mess that I can't be a part of it. If they called me now needing anything I would do anything I could to help them, but I can't be around them on a daily or weekly basis anymore. When you think about the people he used to be close with and is rumored to not speak to anymore, it seems Flair is one of those people. He prefers enablers and those that encourage his bad decisions over real friends that tell him the truth and hold him accountable.

Lost good friends in the process doing so, kids I grew up with. And honestly at that time I didn’t completely quit, I just picked better people to hang out with. People that went 50 mph instead of 250 mph if that analogy makes sense. Anyways I’m in my mid 50s now, clean and sober for some time and sadly, watching as those people that were going balls to the wall no longer breathing air. The partying life is a tough row to hoe indeed.

My story definitely isn't as bad as others , but there's physical and emotional pain that will be felt for a lifetime. I've seen what a simple drink can do to a room , and the people in it , and it's forced me to avoid ever drinking in life. For some people , getting drunk isn't an option , it's built in them to avoid people that abuse drinking entirely , and with Ric nearing dying from internal deterioration due to alcohol abuse , you would think he'd understand that . Respect your stance on being a good friend until it's no longer possible with certain people. It's the healthier option in the long run , even if those people never come back into your life in a healthy manner , you did your best but preserved your morality not to follow them into that hole.

Ric Flair is the greatest in ring wrestler in my 50+ years. Very few wrestlers have influenced pop culture more the Flair. He is without a doubt one of my all time favorites. All that said, it's sad that all he has left is still living the gimmick of being "The Nature Boy Ric Flair" Look around and see who he's actually got left in his life after a lifetime of wrestling. He's alienated almost everyone by his words and deeds, and the very few left I dare say have a lesser view of him than they did in the past. I'll still watch these posts, and will always look at Ric as "The Man", but damn, at what point will he realize he's not long for this world and be at peace with those around him.
There were many guys I'd consider better in the ring. Angle, Hart, Benoit, Guerrero, Danielson, Styles, Michaels, Perfect, just to name a few. Ric in his prime was great though.

Ric Flair on podcasts is an absolute car-wreck. He can’t answer a question and just goes off on a tangent making everything about him. This was awkward to watch. Also, JR will ALWAYS be relevant, he’s the most iconic voice in the history of pro wrestling.

Ric Flair is the greatest in ring wrestler in my 50+ years. Very few wrestlers have influenced pop culture more the Flair. He is without a doubt one of my all time favorites. All that said, it's sad that all he has left is still living the gimmick of being "The Nature Boy Ric Flair" Look around and see who he's actually got left in his life after a lifetime of wrestling. He's alienated almost everyone by his words and deeds, and the very few left I dare say have a lesser view of him than they did in the past. I'll still watch these posts, and will always look at Ric as "The Man", but damn, at what point will he realize he's not long for this world and be at peace with those around him.
