Scorpions 🦂 are very fascinating creatures. I’m certain they are a kick to watch, but that’s an intimidating stinger. Can’t wait for an update on your giant centipede. Take care you two!
The Heterometrus and Pandinus scorps aren't very dangerous at all. A bee usually does more damage than these guys. Yes, the stinger obviously hurts, but local swelling and a bit of pain is all you'll get
So funny, I got back from buying 3 well shoulda been 2 but he had no change and got a 3rd for half price. Anyway back on point, I bought 3 scorpions myself today ( Parabuthus Transvaalicus) and when I came home I see uncle uploaded a scorpion video . What a day for scorpions . 😁
One of the things that I really love and enjoy about you is the absolute joy and enthusiasm you still have for the hobby. And there are many occasions when you are absolutely giddy!❤❤❤
Another awesome video. Not so much my cup of tea but interesting none the less. Thanks again for all you guys do to keep us interested. Much love and respect!!!
Thank for you another great video 😊 Also thank you for pointing out the importance of making the hobby self sustaining. Lastly, congrats with the 85k subscribers 🥳🎉
They're really not that bad. Not that I Know, but even though these are a bit more defensive, I didn't see a single time when it was actually threatening to Use its tail. They're big bluffers... just, don't call their Bluff. Show them respect and you'll be fine 🙂
Hi Dave and Camera Lady, hope you’re both well and had a great weekend. Wow! What an incredible video that was! It was definitely up for some fun at the start, wasn’t it!? That’s the first time I’ve seen one of these, I think 🤔 It’s the Hyde v’s Jekyll. The gentleman and vagabond 😊😊 It would make a mess of your fingers for sure 😮 Cracking footage from Camera Lady, with it having a munch on the roach 🪳 Thanks for sharing! Take care and have a great week ahead 💙💕🥰😘🕷️xxxx
Hello Dave and Camera Lady. Just a quick hello. Loved the scorpion! He has quite the personality. I was surprised. I am leaving for Colorado on Tuesday to be there for my mum as she leaves this mortal coil. It is a very sad thing to lose a parent and I am a bit of a mess. You will see me again. Take care and love each other. Life is too short.😢
I think this one made Camera Lady a little bit nervous at the very end there! I was nervous from the start! LOL Dave- was like a kid with a new Puppy! This proves that Scorpions are not the only interesting creatures on this planet. I love you guys! Peace.
Hehehe, when you said the scorpion likes to muck about at night, I imagined him digging a wee garden in his enclosure, with a tiny garden rake and a little light on a pole, and grumbling to himself the whole time :D
Such a beautiful shiny scorpion 🦂, very impressive but not scary I think if you handle them with respect! I like this one... 🌨🎄☃️Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year dear Dave and Sweet Camera Lady!☃️🎄🌨
another fine educational video PROFF promoting the scorpion spices of animal. a gruesome scene with the roach having its head munched on. i love the information on these animals to help the hobby and promoting the care for wild caught animals. some great footage CAMERA LADY. many thanks guys and take care
Dave, you're an absolute LEGEND! Calm and still as a cucumber you are. 😁 As you've said, this is a wonderful creature and I'd dare to say very clever. Thank you for sharing this one with us. Very fascinating to watch. 👍🏻
This is one of the most absolutely amazing arthropods I have ever seen. I concur with your plan as stated at 13:16. This scorpion could use more height so the movement of its metasoma won't be restricted.
Side note, these are not my first. Yes, I have successfully bred these IN captivity(using a male and a female, and watching them do their dance). It was remarkably easy and I've got pics to prove it, lol. If anyone is trying to and has any questions, feel free to put them here, and I will make an effort to check back and make sure I reply to them 😊
Hi Dave That is a beautiful Asian Forest Scorpion. Very large. So shiny. The pinchers are huge. You always make such nice enclosures. The mouth parts were very interesting. Thanks for all of the information about this scorpion. I hope that you have great success breeding them. It's so sad that they are still collecting them from the wild. I hope that they will not disappear in the wild. You were so gentle handling that scorpion. Excellent video from camera lady. Have a nice day.❤🦂Cindy
Thanks so much Dave this is exactly what I needed .I think I will be cutting back on the feeding of mine as well as getting some new tubs today to rehouse them .I was hoping to see what ventilation you have on that tub . But a beautiful Scorpion and some great footage . 👍
This was a great video! A beautiful animal. I liked the way you stressed captive breeding to protect the wild populations. And thanks for the demonstration of scorpion "body language". ("Life is less demanding when there is understanding.")
Brilliant video Dave, that's a stunning scorpion 🦂 Dave, and should be bred in captivity to protect what's left in the wild, as you rightly said Dave, anyway Dave another super job by yourself and camera 📷 lady Dave.
Wow, that was bloody amazing, I have never seen a scorpion eating the mouth is rather different than I imagined! My adult son was watching the video but his first words were not kind, bizarrely enough he is petrified by scorpions we don’t get many in cold wet wales! I love how shiny they are , but those pinchers must be very cumbersome! Thank you for such an interesting video! 😊
It looks so metallic with its shiny exoskeleton , and something I wouldn't like to angry at me . For the first time watching your videos I actually felt sorry for the roche what a horrible death being eaten alive . With the tarantul they get killed by the venom first. You did make up a lovely new home for him . As always fabulous work Camera lady, until next time 🥰 Merry Christmas to the both of you 🎄🎉😃 and to all the Daves little beasties family here on UA-cam 🎄🥳xx
❤❤that scorpion sure wanted to go on a walk-about! He's huge Dave! And determined to get out lol. Another brilliant video from the Beastie Room. See you soon!
Holy moly I didn’t expect them to get that BIG!! I’ve got a female and she’s about 5 inches long and I thought that was it. Looks like she’s got more growing to do haha
I've had my AFS for a little over a year, now, and he is literally a pet rock lol He's pretty durpy, if you know what I mean 😆He very RARELY comes out of his burrow, but when he does, he really enjoys his water hole and a few minutes-long shower! (with the watering bottle) Feeding them is fun, since you really just have to hold the prey in front of their pinchers and if they want it they'll grab it. I've never seen mine use his stinger one time. I love this species so much. Even though mine may be a pet rock, he's got my heart and has a super fun personality
Morning Dave & Camera lady what an educational video the Mrs bought me an Asian forest scorpion and they are such an amazing creature to have in my collection i've called her Raven and with a uv light they look out of this world

Lovely scorpion dave thie time around ove found many new in sights into the hobby and want to do more to give back and breeding is at the forefront i may get into scorpions and breed them too as we need those numbers up love the ending when cameralady told you to get the lid on hahahha 😂
Thank you for this video! I'm interested in scorpions for such a long time beside my love for tarantulas and millipedes. Maybe I will add a H. Laoticus to my invert family 😊
No justification for wild collecting of anything imo. There’s plenty of species being captive bred now. Really sad what happened to the emperor, they are such nice creatures. Ps this one actually was quite well behaved after the initial grab, no attempt to sting or pinch.
I will confess that until very very recently, like last week recently scorpions were a big NOPE for me. Way more skeeved out by them (and crabs) than anything else. Definitely worse than spiders ever were before I cured my arachnophobia and filled my kitchen with tarantulas. That was was until pretty much all of my favorite channels/creators have featured scorpions in the last month 🤣 So yeah, this video is now bookmarked for the inevitable time my impulsive nature gets the better of me and I have a new (captive bred) scorpion friend.
I really enjoyed this video. I have 3 of them, got them in summer but they don't seem to grow that fast, feeding them number 3 crickets every other week
I love how you keep saying how comfortable he is as he is actively trying to get away. 🤣 How can you not be impressed by these amazing critters. They can go just as fast backwards as forward. That is something I didn't know. That is so damn impressive. I can barely go forward, let alone backward. 😂Oh Merry Christmas to you and Camera Lady! Best wishes to you and your family and friends. I don't know if there will be another vid before as it's getting close, and people are traveling to see family/friends or vice versa and they are hosting family/friends. Thanks again for another great vid! 🕷❤
Unfortunately Dave in south east Asia , Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos etc these cool scorpions are collected for the tourist trade as a snack which brings down the numbers immensely. I love these scorpions and have a lovely communal of more than 2 dozen and all siblings and would love for them to have more babies.
Yes many animals suffer more at the hands of their local population than external pressures , often the locals don’t see the threat and often need the income provided ❤
The sting from one of those feel more like a bee sting, slightly itchy and uncomfortable but nothing bad. Mine stung me when refilling its water dish haha It hurts more to poke your finger with a needle.
Wow, that was an awesome video! I’ve never watched a scorpion for that amount of time. It seemed so personable and social 😂 I think it’s just the claws, they really make it seem curious. Also, the fact that it doesn’t move around as fast as spiders might be a reason it seems more chill. Seems like a really cool pet to have! Awesome job handling it at the end, Dave! Really cool to watch those little claw things work when it was eating too, I didn’t know they had those
WOW what a Scorpion you sure you dont have a Lobster there Dave lol yeah they do get to a decent size I need to get back into my Scorpions again I do have a Giant Flatrock and shes a bit crazy for the species but they are STUNNING
Never kept scorpions, got myself 8 Tarantulas at the moment, hopefully getting a scorpling H. spinifer soon! Looking through as many youtube videos as I can, and doing as much research as possible beforehand
Look at the bright yellow little bristly fibers, in its mouthparts! What are those called? I cant believe how yellow they are--I wonder why they evolved to have that striking color in their mouths? Also, he didn't even bother stinging that roach. I guess, why waste the venom?
Perhaps a silly question, but where are the eyes of this beautiful Giant Asian Forest Scorpion? Ive also never really looked at the "mouth parts" of a scorpion - little scary, but fascinating! I hope to see much more about this particular addition to the new Beastie Room. So cool!
Thank you very much for sharing such wonderful video and information about Asian forest scorpions. But as I am a beginner having never kept scorpions before only tarantulas was just wondering as if you live in cooler climate areas like London/ UK or like Scotland or some other European countries lile Germany, France etc. As it gets quite cold suring winter time having researched a little bit seems like these interesting creatures would require aime sort of heat mat to make their enclosure warm and at a certain temperature and also possibly a digital thermometer so was just wondering if keeping in a plastic tub much like in this great video clip how can you install a digital thermometer as they have long wire and probe also I was just wondering if you would need to install a small heat mat only on one side of the enclosure but do you place it on the bottom or the sides of the enclosure? If you or someone whom has kept or are keeping these kind of animals as pets & have some knowledge it would be very helpful/ great to get some information regarding the questions I have mentioned above. Thanks, Tom😁
“That’s a good 7 inches” made my wife giggle, I didn’t think she was even listening. 😂
Cheeky 😂😂😂
Very impressive, Watching it eat was fascinating as I didn’t have a clue as to how those great big jaws worked.
Epic footage! Well done Camera-lady!❤
Camera lady always does such a great job.
I stand behind you with that rant mate 💪🏻💪🏻
We should be doing all we can throughout the hobby my friend 🙏
You have a cable hanging across the top left of your image today, I spent the first two minutes of the video thinking I had a cracked screen 😂😂
😂
Same!!😂
I didn't 😬🤣🤣🤣
That's funny I see that now that you point that out.
I thought it was a hair. I kept blowing on the phone screen. Lol

Fortunately, I have a baby captive bred, not captive hatched, from someone a few hours away. My first scorpion also.
I just got a 2 inch captive breed Asian forest !! 🖤 a friend of mine gave me one of his babies
Mrs Camera Lady and Dave! 😁👋🏼☺️
Another fun video! Thanks again Dave and camera lady!
"Thanks", Dave, ....now I want a scorpion...
Keep it up, you are the Bob Ross of invertebrate keepers!
Thank you 🙏

My scorpion is the 1 animal I tong feed I love it .. he will walk around with like 3 crickets in his mouth he's like a little tank😅
Thank you David and Camera Lady for this. So educational and pointed to the Hobby awareness. So Important. Love you, appreciate you ❤
Thanks so much❤️
Hello great video information and rehousing Dave
NICE! I was literally waiting for this vid to hear your advice on them... rehoused 2 the other week, and I've got one more coming up soon
